Today was a day to remember. To some what seemed like just another day, today was the day of Cedric's son's first birthday. The first year of his son's life seemed to flash before his very eyes. It was a blessing to be able to be there and take place in his son's first birthday. Some fathers don't have the luxury of being there for their son's first birthday and some fathers abandon their children. But Cedric wasn't one to abandon his offspring.
The entire vibe of the house felt different today. It was much more vibrant and merrier. Everyone was happy. Cedric had invited his parents and Kala's parents to stay with them last night for the party today. Cedric invited his best friend, Red and his girlfriend, Andrea Mitchell. This would be the first time that Cedric had ever met Andrea and a part of him was excited to meet the woman who had managed to get Denzel to get tied down. His siblings were all gonna be there as well as Kala's younger sister, Kendra.
Kendra was gonna be a bit of a problem. Kendra always had a thing for Cedric and made it very clear that the moment Kala fell out of love with him, she would swoop in for the kill and take what she believed is hers. The relationship between Kala and Kendra was already rocky enough and to add oil in the flame that would just ruin the relationship even more.
At the moment, Cedric just made it back the tattoo parlor. He had gotten a tattoo to commemorate today and commemorate the event. He had gotten his son's face tattooed on his right forearm with his birthday under it. Cedric had been wanting to get that piece done for a while now but he had put it off because he was worried about the reaction of his baby's mother and his fiancée, Kala.
And now, he had to face his fears.
Cedric walked through the front doors of their home wearing one of his brand's hoodies with a red embroidered lion in the right chest of the hoodie with matching sweats and a pair of "Flue Game" Jordan 12s. He could feel the energy in the house almost as soon as he walked through the door, everything felt livelier and just vibrant. He could smell the fumes coming from the kitchen, making him smile as he locked the door and made his way to the kitchen.
The sound of Stevie Wonder could be heard blasting from a JBL speaker as he saw his beautiful mother, fiancée and her mother all smiling as they shared the spacious kitchen, tag teaming on some type of dish. His gaze switched from the ladies to see his son in the arms of his father, playing. Seeing this was enough to put tears in the eyes of Cedric and remind him just how special life truly was. He quickly wiped away the tears and walked further into the room.
"Well, I can see there's a lot of happiness coming from this house." He said as everyone looked up from their activities setting their gaze upon him.
"Morning baby." His mom greeted.
"Morning son." His father greeted him.
"Morning Cedric." Kala's mother, Joslyn greeted.
"Morning baby," Kala greeted her fiancée as she walked around the kitchen island towards her lover. She leaned up on her tip toes giving him quick peck. "Where'd you go?" She asked as she started to caress his arm, feeling on his biceps and grazed his forearm making him wince, making her look at him with a puzzled look.
"I went to the city, just for a quick drive," He lied, he couldn't stand the thought of lying to her but it's what he had to do. His tattoo artist was able to finish up his piece in 3 hours which was pretty quick for a piece like his.
"A quick drive? For 3 hours. I don't think that counts as a quick drive anymore babe. You hungry?" She asked.
"Yeah, I could use a bite."
"Great, we just got done cooking your mom's famous Hashbrown Casserole," she said with a smile as she walked back around the kitchen island to join the other ladies.
"Hashbrown Casserole? She only makes that on Christmas."
"Well, I felt like today was a special day. It's my grandbaby's day." Cedric turned his head and looked at his baby boy. He smiled as he walked towards his father and watched as his child reached his arms out for his father. Cedric smiled as he grabbed his son and held him in his arms. He had to make sure to hold his son with the other arm earning a look from Kala.
The second and third generation of the Harvey men shared a smile right before Cedric gave his son a kiss on the forehead.
"Happy Birthday lil' man."
"My baby's finally 1." Kala said smiling.
"He's so big to be 1. If he keeps growing like that, he'll be playing football in no time." Joslyn commented.
"Football? Nah, I think you mean basketball." Cedric Sr said earning a fist bump from his son.
"If anything, he's gonna be just his old man. Kicking ass in a WWE ring."
"My grandbaby will not be a wrestler." Joslyn said.
"Well, whatever he decides to be, he'll change the world. And make us proud." Kala said walking towards Cedric Jr and their child, giving him a kiss on the forehead while also caressing his arm. Cedric unintentionally hissed earning a look from everyone in the room especially Kala.
"Sorry, my arm is just a little sore from working out hard yesterday. I'm gonna go take a shower." He said as he handed his son off to Kala. He gave his son another kiss on the forehead and walked out of the room earning a look from his fiancée.

Cedric had just gotten out of the shower and was currently wearing a pair of grey Nike sweatpants. He was shirtless and little did he know, he was being watched by his fiancée. She peeked through the door seeing her fiancée rub on his new tattoo making her look at him with a frown before she busted through the door, closing it right behind her.
"So that's why you've been acting weird. You went and got a tattoo and didn't tell me?" Cedric sighed as he looked down at the ground. He was busted. He showed her the tattoo, watching her grab at his forearm and trace her finger along it.
"Why didn't you tell me?"
"I was worried, you'd disapprove or worse."
"Why?"
"Because this isn't a tattoo that necessarily helps our brand. Baby I know that this business that we're starting together, means a lot to you and I just don't want to screw that up. This tattoo might hurt our professional image."
"Baby, our band isn't your body. Our brand is our authenticity. Our brand is just a representation of who we are as people not celebrities. Not public figures. Just being plain, old us. And that tattoo just represents your love for our family which just shows how much of a loving, kind person you are." she said as she gently gripped both of his hands.
"Really? So, you're not mad?"
"I am a little mad that you were afraid to tell me but other than that, I'm not mad about anything."
"I'm sorry," he said as he placed a tender kiss on both of her hands.
"You can show me how sorry you are later tonight." She said leaning up giving him a kiss on the cheek before walking out of the bedroom, leaving him standing there with a smile.

SmackDown
The WWE Universe were cheering at the top of their lungs as tonight was the premier of the new season of Friday Night SmackDown on FOX. And tonight, was going to be a night to remember. Opening the show just a few moments ago was Triple H and Stephanie McMahon giving a basic rundown of the events taking place tonight including a WWE Championship main event between Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman and The New Day farewell match considering that Woods and Kingston had gotten drafted to Raw and Big E had gotten drafted to SmackDown.
And an Intercontinental Championship match between Ced and Sami Zayn as a result of their interaction last week.
From a personal standpoint, everything was great. The party went well with the exception of Kala's sister, Kendra showing up and causing a ruckus but aside from that everything was all good. And now it was time to do what he loved and be that man and get ready for the next stage of his career.
Currently Ced stood in the back in the interview spot with the Intercontinental Championship wrapped around his waist as he looked on with a frown while the fans could be heard in the background.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome my guest at this time. The Intercontinental Champion, Ced." Kayla introduced as the camera focused on Ced with his title.
"Ced, tonight you defend your Intercontinental Championship against Sami Zayn, I gotta ask where your head is at knowing that Roman Reigns no doubt has his eyes on you. What's on your mind?" Kayla asked as she placed the mic under the lips of Ced.
"You wanna know where my head is at? Kayla, it takes a hell of a lot to get inside my head. I've made a living of being inside the head of others. I have made a legacy of kicking people's ass in the short amount of time that I've been here. Just go ask Ricochet or Jaden Sennoa or EC3. I'm not afraid of Roman, Roman should be afraid of me. My head isn't something that Roman wants to be in, it's a dangerous place up there. And tonight, I'm gonna make an example out of Sami and show Roman why he should be afraid." He walked out of the camera shot leaving Kayla there looking on.

The fans in the arena booed as they heard the sound of Sami Zayn's music hit the PA system. Sami walked out onto the stage with a smirk on his face as he looked around the arena.
"The following contest is scheduled for one fall and is for the Intercontinental Championship. Making his way to the ring, from Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Weighing in at 212 Pounds. Sami Zayn!"
Sami Zayn made his way down the ramp, talking trash as he continued on his way, taunting at the fans occasionally. He reached the ringside area and walked up the steps. He jumped up onto the turnbuckle prongs looking out into the crowd before jumping up onto the turnbuckle and into the ring. He took off jacket and hat and threw it off to the outside while he kept his focus on the stage.

The crowd began cheering as they heard the music of the Intercontinental Champion. The crowd continued cheering as they waited for their champion to walk through the curtain.
Instead of walking through the curtain, Ced came stumbling from the back with blood flowing down his face. The music faded away as Ced dropped down on the stage while Roman walked from the back with a steel chair in his hand. Paul Heyman followed closed behind with the WWE Championship and Intercontinental Championship in his hands. Roman looked around at the crowd listening to the chorus of boos from the WWE Universe.
Ced slowly crawled down the ramp with Roman following behind staring as he crawled with a crimson mask. When Ced reached the ringside area, he used the ring apron to slowly pull himself up to his feet. The Intercontinental Champion reached his feet and stumbled around, turning towards Roman only to be clocked with the steel chair dropping him flat on his back.
Roman flipped the chair around and drove the edge of it into the abdomen making him grip his abdomen as he screamed out in pain and agony and rolled over onto his abdomen. Roman repeatedly slammed the chair into the back and spine of Ced making him scream out. Roman then threw the chair on the outside and reached down grabbing Ced, throwing him into the ring.
"Start the match!" Roman shouted at the official but the official didn't listen and looked on confused. Roman looked at the referee with a frown and grabbed onto the middle rope, using it to help pull himself up onto the apron and look at the referee.
"I am your tribal chief! And this is my island! You will do as a I say! Now start the match!" Roman shouted. The referee looked down at Ced's body shaking his head as he called for the bell.
Ding-Ding-Ding!
Sami quickly jumped onto Ced's body taking advantage of his condition and hooked the leg.

"Here is your winner and the NEW Intercontinental Champion: Sami Zayn!" Paul threw the title into the ring as Roman jumped off the ring apron. Sami quickly grabbed the title and raised it up into the air as the fans booed while Roman looked at Sami with the title. He put his hand out as Paul placed the WWE title in his hands.
Roman raised the title in the air with a smirk. He had just shown that SmackDown is indeed his island. He showed that he was the one who could decide who was Champion or not. And he had showed Ced that by screwing him out of the title.
