Hello hello!:)

I just want to advise that this chapter contains smut in the second half. And it's been a while since I've written smut, so if it sucks I'm sorry!

Also, disclaimer that plot and scenes from this chapter are from the movie Push. No copyright.

The look on Lissa's face when she opened the door was priceless. She fretted over the bruise on my face before her eyes fell on the man towering over me, and her smile was radiant.

"Oh my God! You're okay!" Lissa exclaimed as she wrapped her arms around Dimitri's neck, practically hanging off him. Dimitri smiled and hugged her back, rubbing her back comfortingly when she started to cry.

"I'm okay. It's good to see you Lissa," Dimitri said sincerely. Lissa sniffed and nodded as she pulled away, beckoning us all in. I felt a little bad about ruining her client's session, but she told us to wait in the living room and that she would be finished shortly. I nodded and sank onto the couch, curling up with a happy sigh.

Dimitri lifted my shoulders and head off the couch and sat down, resting me in his lap and running his hand over my side.

"How's your head?"

I shrugged and sighed, closing my eyes. I had a slight headache while we packed up what we had at the hotel, and with a bit of pushing, I secured three tickets back to Hong Kong. But my head was still ringing when we got on the plane. Adrian was more fortunate than me, he was able to stitch the headache away, I popped pain killers the whole flight home.

"I need a nice sleep and I'll be fine," I said quietly, curling my arm under my head. Dimitri didn't say anything, just kept rubbing his hand over my side. I could hear a voice that I didn't recognize mixed with Lissa's, I realized that she was finished with her client. I kept my eyes closed until the smell of a burning cigarette made me grimace.

"Can you not do that in here?" I grumbled, cracking my eyes open to find Adrian in the room.

Adrian looked at me and blew the smoke from the corner of his mouth, raising a brow at me. "Why? Does it bother you?"

"No, but you're going to make me puke because it smells disgusting," Lissa cut in as she came back into the room, holding a paper cup out to Adrian.

"And secondhand smoke is bad for babies," I mumbled and then winced, "Oops. Sorry Liss."

"She would need to smoke the cigarette for it to be second hand," Adrian quipped, but burnt the end of his cigarette out in the cup, "Congrats by the way."

"It's still not good for me to breathe it in. Please don't smoke in my house," Lissa said before sitting down on the couch by my feet. "And it's fine, I was going to tell Adrian anyways."

Dimitri's hand stilled momentarily on my waist, his fingers curling a little bit before relaxing again. I sat up and curled into his side instead, slipping my hand into his and squeezing it reassuringly. I hadn't had a chance to warn Dimitri that Lissa was pregnant, and now I felt bad that I hadn't. He was still processing the details of my miscarriage.

"What happened to you?" Lissa asked softly, "We looked for you? I used everything I could, and it was a haze."

"Division," was all Dimitri said. I watched Lissa wince when she realized the severity of the situation.

"Oh God," she said quietly, sinking back into the arm of the couch, "How did you get out?"

I looked at Adrian and then to Dimitri. Adrian had a nonchalant look on his face, and I occurred to me that it was possible that Dimitri and he had spoken on our flight back here. I looked up at Dimitri and found that his face was void of any emotion that would give a clue to what he was feeling.

"There was a series of situations that made me see reason, and I broke out," Dimitri said. I knew that he was hiding information, because he never went into detail how he got out. But he would tell me when he was ready.

"But there is something to be concerned about."

I raised my brows at him. "What do you mean?"

"They have this drug that they've been experimenting with. It's like a psychic steroid. It is supposed to boost our abilities, make us almost superhuman. The problem is that we just keep dying," Dimitri explained, sitting up more on the couch. I shifted so that I could look at him better.

"What do you mean 'we keep dying?'"

"I mean that part of the reason there are watch lists. They want to best so they can pump us full of the drug. Only a three people have survived the process."

"Who?" Lissa asked.

"I don't know two of them, they ended up dying due to unrelated incidents," Dimitri said invasively, not answering the question, and not looking at me either. A cold weight built in my stomach as my mind raced.

"It's my mother. The only one alive is my mother," I said slowly, not looking at anyone in particular.

"I'm sorry," Dimitri said quietly, "I didn't know how to tell you. That's why you're on the list. They think that because Janine survived it, that you will too."

I shook my head and got up, pacing in the living room. "What does it do to you, when you don't survive it?"

I turned to look at Dimitri. He had been in there for months, and if he knew the drug existed, then he knew more than he was letting on. Dimitri looked down at him hands with a sigh, lifting his head up.

"I had a partner when I was in Division, Kira, she volunteered to take the drug. It killed her within ten seconds of being injected. She started bleeding from her ears and nose. It blackened her blood too, it looked like tar. If it doesn't kill you, it does the same thing to your blood within a few days. They have an antiserum they developed to help fix the problem. They started experimenting with the drug during the second world war, and only had a successful treatment in the last ten years."

"Did it hurt her?"

"I don't think so. They already had her heavily sedated before they did the treatment," Dimitri said, "but we also have a bigger problem than there being a drug."

"How could we have a bigger problem than a drug that they're trying to pump us with?" Adrian asked with a roll of his eyes.

"I stole it. Also, the only people they're rounding up for the drug are movers, watchers, and pushes."

I stopped pacing and turned to look at him, my mouth opening and shock crossing my face. I could see that Lissa was equally surprised.

"You what?"

Dimitri sighed and ran his hand through his hair. "I stole a vial of it. I figured it would be a good bargaining chip for your mom."

"You would risk all of that to get my mom out?"

"Of course I would! Plus, if we had this, we could get whatever we wanted out of them. Everyone wants this! Division, the Strigoi clan, the Ivashkovs. We have practically a million dollars in our hands."

Ivashkovs? What would they want with this? I turned to look at Adrian but he was just as confused as I was. But then again, Adrian was pretty far removed from his family these days.

"Side bar - where exactly is this drug you've stolen? Because I have a feeling that you being here is making a huge 'come and get us' sign hanging over all of our heads," Adrian said, a bit of snark in his voice.

"I don't know."

"No really, Dimitri, we need to know," Lissa said firmly.

"And I actually don't know," Dimitri stated, "I hid the drug and then had my mind wiped. I woke up to a picture and a message."

"What was it?" Lissa pushed; I could see the agitation rising in her.

Dimitri looked at me and a tender look crossed his face. "The picture of us at the Boardwalk. The only thing written on the note was your name and the train station here in Hong Kong."

"Well that's going to be a big pain in our asses," Adrian groaned, lighting up another cigarette even though Lissa told him minutes ago not to smoke in the house.

"Why are they only injecting this drug in certain psychics?" Lissa asked, "Why not all of us?"

Dimitri grabbed my hand as I paced by, pulling me to a stop and into his lap. "Division has deemed those psychics as weapons. Stitches are impossible because their brains and bodies stitch themselves back together, effectively rejecting the drug. Sniff, shifters, shadows, they're considered harmless. But people like me, Rose, and Janine, we can be weaponized."

The room was silent, all of us were too stunned by the news. We knew that Division was using psychics to hunt psychics, but to learn that they were drugging us and we were dying, was almost too much to handle.

I slipped my hand into his and held it in my lap, letting my eyes wander over Lissa and Adrian. Adrian was still smoking, being courteous enough to crack open a widow and stood by it. Lissa had a solemn look on her face, her hands resting on her stomach. I could see now that she was further along than I realized.

"I need to call Christian," Lissa said standing up, stepping out of the room. He had a cell phone that was used for emergencies. I guess we could count this as one.

"What do we do now? Do we get someone to shadow him?"

I shook my head. "It would be only a matter of time. If Dimitri is being watched by a watcher, it's only a matter of time before they find him. You can't shadow him forever. Plus, we don't have that kind of money."

Adrian fiddled with the lighter in his hand with a slight shake. Lissa came back into the room, her cheeks flushed and eyes pink, sinking down primly on the couch.

"Christian is coming home. Even though I'm not what they would consider for the list, he feels it would be safer if he was home with me," Lissa said after composing herself for a minute. I got up and wrapped her in my arms, holding her gently.

"It's going to be okay, Liss," I said softly, stroking the back of her head. Liss nodded against my shoulder but I could tell she was holding a lot back. I held onto her for a few more minutes before a clock chimed through the room.

"Crap. I have another appointment," Lissa said pulling back and looking at the time. Adrian nodded and flicked the bud out the window, blowing the last of the smoke out too.

"We should clear out. Let you get back to work," Adrian said, coming over and giving her a hug. Lissa stood up and gave Adrian a hug while Dimitri and I got up to. I gave Dimitri a soft look, knowing that he must feel conflicted for dumping all of this on us, but we needed to know. We all had the right to know what was happening.

Adrian left after a few words with us, leaving the three of us in the room.

"We should get going too, it's getting late," Dimitri said. Lissa nodded but looked between the two of us.

"You're more than welcome to use my guest room," Lissa offered but I shook my head. "No it's okay. I still have my apartment. I'll tell my landlord that I'm staying for a bit longer."

Lissa nodded and gave me a smile, squeezing me in a gentle hug. I returned her affection and rubbed her back, knowing from the way she was holding her weight that she was in a bit of pain.

"Use a heating pack before bed, it'll help," I said quietly when I pulled away. Lissa nodded and smiled at Dimitri as she walked us to the door. I waved at Lissa as we walked away from the door and onto the busy street. We had a few stops we needed to make. Mostly, we needed to get my stuff out of storage that I did keep, and we needed food.

Badly. I was starving.

I didn't take long to get to wear I kept my stuff, unlocking the lockers and pulling my duffle bags out. Dimitri eyeballed them before taking a few from me, shouldering the bags and then picking up a few bags of our groceries.

My place wasn't far from Lissa's but we ended up riding the subway a little longer than expected so that we could create a different trail if someone was watching. By the time we got to my place it was late, and I was dead on my feet, but wired at the same time.

Dimitri slipped in behind me and set the bags down, sliding the lock in place.

"What's in the bags? You usually don't keep so much stuff."

I chuckled and started to put some of the food in the fridge. "The green ones aren't mine. Open them."

I could hear Dimitri moving things around and then the tell tail sound of a zipper being pulled, and then silence.

"You kept my things?"

I nodded. "Where else would it go? Besides, you know I've always preferred sleeping in your clothes," I said with a smirk, turning to look at him. Dimitri chuckled and picked up a bag of groceries, finding homes for them in the cupboards. I had cleaned everything out before I left, so finding space wasn't hard.

Once we had the food put away and our clothes unpacked, I leaned against Dimitri's side. Dimitri wrapped his arm around my shoulders and kissed my hair, sighing himself.

"I need a shower," I groaned, "I hate being on a plane."

"Go clean up, I'll make sure everything is locked up," Dimitri said. I gave him a smile and stretched up on my toes, pressing my lips to his cheek. I grabbed the bag of toiletries and headed in. Despite the small apartment, I always loved the bathroom. It had a big shower and a tub, which was hard to find in this side of town.

I slowly unpack everything and found a place for it all, biding my time. We hadn't really had time alone together, and showering together after being apart was sort of a ritual. But after locking up, he didn't come in.

I could see Dimitri's shadow move over the frosted glass. When we lived together if he wanted to come in with me, he would have just come in. But I think he felt a strain between us that wasn't there. I didn't blame him though. We had been separated for two years; a lot of time has passed.

Maybe all he needed was a slight push.

I smirked to myself as I dangled my legs over the edge of the counter, inspecting the small purpling bruise on the side of my elbow when the bathroom door swung open and Dimitri stepped in with a worried expression.

When he stepped in, he faltered. "Sorry, I thought the bathroom was on fire," he said slowly, sounding confused as he drew to the end.

I scoffed a small laugh. "I had to get you in here somehow."

Dimitri's brows knitted together for a second before a lopsided grin crossed his lips. "Did you push me?"

"You didn't like it?" I asked with a coy laugh, standing up from the counter. Dimitri scoffed but came closer to me and set his hands on my waist. "Push back."

A small smile crossed his face before his hands pulled me closer, his lips coming down to mine as I reached up for him. The contact was something I craved, wanted more than I realized. His touch was the same, the shiver he sent up my spine, the grazes that made my skin flush and pucker. I missed the way it felt when his fingers brushed the sides of my neck and his hands traveled to cup my cheeks, or how it felt when his breath fanned over my lips as he pulled away to brush his lips against my jaw.

The door to the bathroom swung shut with a small bang and I twisted my fingers into his hair as he lifted me back into his arms, setting me down on the counter. My ankles hooked behind his thighs as I pulled his shirt over his head, pulling back long enough to pull my back as well. He hadn't changed much, but I could appreciate one thing about our separation. The vigorous shape that agents were expected to be in meant his muscle mass was higher than before.

It was nice to look at, and there was something about feeling the steel muscles wrapped in caramel that was beautiful and familiar.

Dimitri's hand ran over my shoulders and came to rest on my waist, dropping his head down to kiss my neck, my head tilting back with a sigh. He always knew what spot would make me melt like butter in his hands.

I let me hands wander too, down his chest and over his abs, resting on the top of his jeans. I gasped when the kisses turned into nips, and he sucked on the skin. I let my eyes close but unbuttoned the top of his pants, letting my hand slip into them.

"I thought you wanted to shower," Dimitri said against my skin as his hands gripped my hips, sucking on my bottom lip. I leaned into him and claimed his lips, finding my prize inside his jeans and wrapping my hand around his member.

"I do, but I want you too."

I could feel him smile as he worked on the button of my jeans too, his tongue slipping into my mouth. I pulled my hand out and wrapped my arms around his, pulling him closer. I could hear the shower turn on and smirked to myself before letting go of him and slid off the counter, wiggling out of my jeans and unhooking my bra.

I smirked at him while sticking my hand under the water to make sure it wasn't too hot, watching him follow suit and pull his jeans and boxers off. I crooked my fingers at him as I stepped under the water, smiling up at him as he joined me.

"There is something about you and showers," Dimitri said, stepping under the water with me, moving my now wet hair away from my face. I laughed and shrugged, wrapping arms around his waist and pulled myself closer to him, pressing my lips on his chest.

"What? I like you wet," I said with a chuckle. But he wasn't wrong. Back before, if he left, we showered together before and when he came back. It was as if being close like that made me feel closer to him, that the intimacy strengthens a bond between us. Any time I had my skin pressed against his I felt at home and at ease.

Dimitri's chuckle met my ears, but I could hear something else in it too. I lifted my head up to look at him as his fingers ghosted over me, travelling down the apex of my thighs. I let out an excited gasp when his fingers brushed over my inner thighs, travelling over them into his fingers found their prize, slipping inside of me. Dimitri's smirk matched mine and I pulled gently on his neck, pressing my lips against him as he moved his fingers inside me.

"I like you wet too," Dimitri growled in my ear, catching my ear lobe between his teeth. He wasn't one for dirty talk, but it did happen, and it always made me squirm. I let my nails run over his neck before tugging on the ends of his hair, rubbing myself against him as his fingers started to move faster, twisting inside of me and hitting the perfect spot.

I tipped my head against his shoulder and was grateful that we decided to come back here instead of staying at Lissa's. If we did this at Lissa's, I wouldn't be able to keep myself quiet. A silent scream left my lips as I tightened around his fingers, my fingers gripping his hair so tight it might rip from the roots.

I opened my eyes and found a smug look on his face, his eyes dark and hazy with his own lust. I pulled him down to me as he reached for me again, scoping me up in his arms and pressing me against the cool tiles. I could feel his slick member rubbing against me and I rubbed my hips towards him, still sensitive to touch.

All it took was a shift in angle and he slid in, a strangled groan spilling from his lips. It was louder than my moan, but I barely heard it over the sound of the water. My kiss was sloppy, but I don't think either of us cared as we moved, clinging to each other.

I didn't anticipate lasting long this time around, and I could tell that he wasn't either. His hot skin against mine made my toes curl, my head tipping back with a cry, my fingers digging into his slick skin as I felt myself hurtling towards another orgasm.

"I'm so close," I whimpered, panting over the steam. Dimitri a sound between a moan and a grunt, slamming his hips into me harder, his pace becoming erratic. The final build was always my favourite part with Dimitri. The closer we got to our own climaxes, the harder we worked for the other to reach theirs.

"I love you, so much," Dimitri whispered in my ear just before moaning, stilling inside me as he came. I didn't return in words right away, but nodded against him, turning his face towards mine so he could see just how much I loved him. Dimitri gently pulled out and set me back on my feet, wrapping his arms around my waist and pulled me back under the water, holding me to his chest.

"I love you too," I said running my thumb over his lip.

I was shaky on my feet but used that as an excuse to cling to him further. The water ran over us, and for a moment all the heartache and pain disappeared. I had him, here in my arms, and I vowed to myself that I would never lose him again.

"Please… don't make me do anything to myself," I said quietly, turning my face away from his so he couldn't push me. The fear that crawled through me was strong. I knew I was a strong push, but he was much stronger. I couldn't help the tears that gathered in my eyes either.

"Hurting you would change the future, and I like how this future goes," Carver said to me, dropping the notebook onto my lap. I looked up at him and sniffed.

"So will killing him," I bit back dangerously. Caver pulled the cigar from his lips before turning back down the alley way. I let out a ragged breath and wiped the side of my hand under my eyes.

I shot up in bed and sucked in a gasp of air, my hands fisting into the blanket. This vision was so clear it was like being awake and seeing it in real-time. I took another breath and jumped when a hand rested on my thigh.

"What's wrong?" Dimitri asked sleepily.

I shook my head. "Vision. Go back to sleep."

"It scared you; what did you see?"

I laid down and cuddled into his chest, resting my face in the crook of his shoulder. "Carver. I don't know exactly what was happening, but he was there. He told me that hurting me changed the future, and that he liked this future."

Dimitri wrapped his arm around my shoulders and held me close, turning his face towards my hair.

"Don't let it stress you out. You know that visions are subjective. It can always change. You may never run into him."

I nodded and took a slow, shaky breath as I curled myself further around him. He was right. There was a chance I would never run into him.

Hey all!

Looks like you may get more updates out of my the next week or so, I'm currently in isolation because both my parents have COIVD. Working from home is hard to do, so I will have some extra time.
