Chapter 2

Maka awoke the next day around 11 to her cat Blair meowing frantically at her, but Maka didn't have the energy to deal with her just yet.

"Blair, please go away I need sleep." Maka groaned, but the cat wouldn't quiet down. Maka whined a bit as she opened her eyes realizing just how bright it was outside and regretting drinking so much the night before.

She rubbed her eyes until she saw stars and then stood up giving Blair the evil eye before saying,

"Fine I'm up gremlin what do you want?"

Blair simply jumped off the bed and headed for the kitchen looking back to make sure her owner was following.

"Damn cat is so hungry that she couldn't let me sleep a bit longer. Ugh why do I even have a cat they're useless unless I have mice or something, but I don't so ugh."

Maka talked to herself all the way to the kitchen not even noticing that Blair wasn't in there. As she started rummaging through the cabinet to find her cats food she heard said cat meowing again.

"I'm coming dammit, just give me a second to find the can unless you want dry food like a savage!"

Maka stopped talking abruptly when she heard a chuckle coming from the living room. She slowly took her head out of the cabinet and stepped out of the kitchen.

It was as she walked slowly into the living room that someones feet came into view. Maka stopped dead in her tracks and let out a little yelp.

"Wh-wh-who's there? Wh-what do you want? Please just leave and I won't call the cops."

Maka didn't make a move into the living area, but she tried to angle her head better to see who had broken into her house.

"Call the cops? That would be rude to call the cops on someone who you invited into your home."

The deep voice made her shudder with fear, but she pushed herself to move forward and confront her assailant.

Emerald eyes came face to face with blood red eyes and time stood still. Maka was trying to muster up all her courage to face off with the man who was not only in her house, sitting on her couch, but was also petting her cat who seemed to be enjoying herself.

"First of all I didn't invite you into my home! I don't even know who you are you psycho! Second please don't hurt my cat I love the little mongrel. Third please get out, I don't have the energy to fight with you, but don't think for a second I can't take you."

Maka stood tall and braced herself for the worst, but the red eyed man made no move to fight her or even get off her couch.

"Okay first off your cat is not a mongrel don't call her that, second you were just complaining to yourself about her were you not? And third I am not leaving because you did invite me into your home, but you didn't notice me last night."

Maka's mouth dropped open, "WHAT DO YOU MEAN I DIDN'T NOTICE YOU LAST NIGHT?! HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN HERE!"

Maka couldn't help yelling because a complete stranger was saying she invited him in and she doesn't think she was that drunk last night.

The stranger stood up and she realized how much taller he was than her and she gulped. She took in his features as she eyed him and realized even though he didn't look much older than she was he had stark white hair, red bedroom eyes and sharp teeth, but what really caught her attention was the tail that was behind him reaching the floor.
