"Finally back home."

Maka muttered under her breathe when they finally walked back into her apartment. All she wanted to do was sleep away the hangover she still had and then meet up with the gang later, but Soul had other ideas.

"So Maka tell me about yourself. I'm intrigued how someone like you could be living on her own with a cat."

Maka sat on the couch slowly taking her shoes off and gave Soul, who sat next to her on the couch, a questioning look.

"What do you mean someone like me? Is that supposed to be a compliment or an insult Soul because I really feel like I should smack the horns off your head."

Soul instinctively placed his hands on his head and smirked at her viciousness.

"I mean someone who looks as good as you is all, but maybe it's all your snark that scares all the boys away except for this fella Black*Star. He's the only guy you've mentioned."

Maka noticed the way Soul said Black*Star's name and laughed.

"If you're insinuating that me and Black*Star could or would ever have anything then you're sadly mistaken. He's like my brother and that would be incest, and as much as I like to live on the wild side, that's just not my thing."

Soul let out a hearty laugh and couldn't help smiling at Maka. He noticed she was staring at him already.

"You sure you're not a demon too? You have the attitude of one of us and you'd definitely be able to hold your own against my kind."

Maka pulled her feet up on the couch to hug them to herself and nodded her head.

"I'm as angelic as they come sir. I've never done a bad thing in my 25 years of life. I swear I can do no wrong."

Maka put a hand over her heart and the other in the air mimicking the scouts honor gesture. Soul snorted at her and grabbed her hand from her chest.

She watched as Soul traced his hand up and down her forearm and shivered. She had never welcomed any contact like this before, but with Soul it felt different for some reason.

"Can I ask you a question?" Maka asked Soul with a small voice.

Soul let her arm go and nodded at her leaning back into the couch as Blair jumped onto his laps stroking her back.

"Well I honestly don't know how to say this without making you sound kind of bad, but do you use your demony powers on people to make them more willing to sleep with you?"

Soul eyed Maka for a couple seconds before the damn smirk she was beginning to hate came back into his face.

"We'll Maka if that's your way of coming on to me I whole heartedly accept the invitation. Look at you making the first move, I really like that in a woman you know."

Soul winked at Maka who was furiously blushing and failing at hiding her face in her hands.

"STOP IT!!! I wasn't…I mean I…uhm…shut up! Okay I know how that sounded, but that's totally not what I meant and like I would never…w-well I mean I have never…dammit Soul it's not funny!"

Soul was laughing with his face smooshed into a pillow to try and keep quiet, but Maka could hear his snickers.

Maka pulled the pillow from his face and growled at his big smile before shoving it back into his face.

Soul laughed again while placing the pillow beside him where he found it and went back to petting Blair.

"I can't help it babe I'm telling you, you make the most adorable faces when you're mad. Besides if we aren't going to get down and dirty I need another way to pass the time until we go out again."

Maka huffed at him before crossing her arms over her chest and leaning back into the couch besides Soul.

She could feel his body heat next to her and she felt like snuggling into his side. A little snuggling wouldn't be so bad right?

"Soul I'm going to shuffle into you because you're warm and I'm still hung over and I don't want to hear a snort from you. Got it."

Maka locked her eyes onto Soul's and waited for him to agree before she moved.

Soul placed his arm around her shoulders and pulled her into his side before whispering,

"I live to please Maka. Just tell me what you want and it's yours."

Maka looked up at a smiling Soul before snuggling closer into his side and taking a deep breath and thinking,

Oh no…I could get used to this.
