Being here at this children's hospital to get her friends vaccinated against adulthood virus is 9-year-old Abigail Lincoln's idea of a weekend excursion. Abigail spots a young boy playing with the train tracks in the waiting room. She decides to ignore the boy. "Since Cree got the adulthood virus 5 months ago, I've been worried about my friends growing up without me. 3 months before that, I suddenly blacked out, and next thing I know it's 3 hours later and I was immune to adulthood virus." Abigail tells the other members of Sector V why they're here. To Abigail, eternal youth means having an endless amount of time to find rare chocolates and ice cream.
"Numbuh 1 is unable to be with us, as we were only able to reserve 3 slots for vaccination." Numbuh 2 stated. It really is a shame that Numbuh 1 can't be here. Somebody could infect Nigel with the adulthood virus, and he was already permanently bald because of her failure to protect him from the Delightful Children. The thought of more harm coming to Nigel because of her caused her to frown.
Wally sits down, and points to a sign in the hospital waiting room that reads "YOUNGSTER: Eternal youth is just a door away." Numbuhs 3 and 4 smile at the same time. Wally's so obvious with his crush on Kuki. Two teammates being in love brings a smile to Numbuh 2's face. While Abigail waits for her teammates to be called in, Abigail pays 75 cents for a vanilla ice cream sandwich from a vending machine in the waiting area.
Numbuh 5 doesn't even get to have a bite of her ice cream sandwich before an adult doctor states "Hoagie Gilligan Jr., Wally Beetles, Kuki Sanban, You three are ready." Glancing over, the doctor's nametag reads Raul. The lovers and their friend walk into the corridor, leaving Abigail alone to eat an ice cream sandwich in peace and think about eternal youth with her Sector.
Wally and Kuki are plopped on the hospital table, and about to be given eternal youth. Hoagie walks down a different doorway.
"You two need to be unconscious to receive the soulmate version of Y.O.U.N.G.S.T.E.R." a young redhead wearing a labcoat tells the pair of soulmates. Glancing over at her, Wally notices that the redhead's nametag reads Numbuh 2.35:1. She puts a cup over the nose of Kuki, then does the same to Wally.
"Y.O.U.N.G.S.T.E.R.'s full name is Youthful Opioid Undermines Nagging Grown-Up Sickness To Extinction Radically" Numhuh 2.35:1 says.
"Y.O.U.N.G.S.T.E.R. takes much longer to take effect in those with soulmates." Another doctor says.
"I have been 10 years old for 2 decades thanks to Y.O.U.N.G.S.T.E.R. One dose and you're young forever." Numbuh 2.35:1 tells Wally and Kuki.
"Growing up is cruddy. I'm glad we never have to." Wally smiles at Kuki as he speaks. Now that Wally thinks about it, he's gonna have all the time in the world to tell Kuki his feelings once they're young forever.
"An eternity of friendship and Rainbow Monkeys sounds fun!" Kuki responds. Even though Wally hates those cruddy monkeys, he can't help but blush at the thought of an eternity with the cutest girl in the universe. Wally looks over, and Kuki's blushing as well.
Wally hears Numbuh 2.35:1 turns on a large device. Immediately, anesthesia is pumped into his nose through a tube. Within seconds, Wally begins to feel tired, and it feels like Kuki is too. The room becomes a blur, he can't hear the doctors talk and it's really hard to keep his eyes open. The last thing Wally does before the sedatives fully take effect is lay his head on Kuki's shoulder.
The room Hoagie Gilligan Jr. is getting his vaccine at is across the hall from the room where Wally and Kuki are. On the wall of the room is a painting of a couple of kids looking at the sunset by the beach. There, a raven-haired doctor with the nametag Richard is waiting for him. "This painting I bought represents the eternal youth my soulmate denied to me." Richard tells Hoagie. Hoagie feels sympathy for the man giving him Y.O.U.N.G.S.T.E.R.
The needle went in quickly, and within seconds Hoagie was vaccinated. A few seconds later, Richard put a bandage on Hoagie's arm. To Hoagie, eternal youth means having an eternity of trying to be the best pilot in the world.
Wally and Kuki feel themselves slowly wake up. How long have they been sedated together like this? "The vaccination was successful. I hope you enjoy eternal youth." Numbuh 2.35:1 told Wally and Kuki. Wally and Kuki hold each other's hands, the thought of an eternity together flowing through them. They climb out of the operating table, hand in hand with a smile glued to their faces. To Wally and Kuki, Eternal youth means a never-ending adventure with an awesome companion.
Hoagie is sitting nearby, enjoying a chili dog. He's leaving a mess on the chair he's eating at. "It was a simple injection for me. How was your vaccination?" Hoagie smiles at his friends.
"We passed out, and were asleep for a while. The doctor who vaccinated us is a Kids Next Door operative who was vaccinated 2 decades ago." Kuki tells her friends. Hoagie's eyes grew wide open.
"Let's go get some root beer to celebrate." Wally suggests to his friends.
That evening, the five members of Sector V got dinner at the Cinerama Film & Grub, an upscale theater near Wally's home. The theater is showing the movie "First Kids On The Moon". While the other members of Sector V get root beer, Nigel told the cashier "5 tickets for First Kids on the Moon."
The eternally young members of Sector V raise their cups of root beer. "Here's to everlasting youth." Kuki says before taking the first sip. Nigel felt sad at that moment. He realized that the rest of Sector V will never grow up, and even though Nigel hasn't been infected yet, there's still that possibility.
