I know it's short but future chapters will be longer. I don't have an exact schedule for posting chapters but I am starting the third chapter now.
It's just a meeting, he thought as he stood in front of the 30-foot doors. Even as he told himself that, he knew it wasn't true. He has faced this same situation countless times over the last few million and just like all other times, he wasn't told what this meeting was about. Deciding to get it over with, he pushed open the doors and faced the council.
"Finally decide to come in?" a loud voice boomed as he walked in. The rest of the council quieted upon seeing their guest.
"Ah, Zeus, the god of patience," he said as he approached the old king.
"God of lightning-"
"I thought that was Thor"
"ENOUGH," Zeus shouted, already becoming annoyed with the young god. "The point is that you failed, AGAIN! Will there ever be a millennium where you succeed more than once, Siriqois?"
"Will there ever be a millennium where you get my name right?"
"Listen, Jacob, I'm going to give you a mission that you can't possibly fail," Zeus said as he picked up his bolt. "You will be responsible for retrieving Attmoz's guitar from the 4th dimension."
Jacob sighed as he stared at the central hearth. "How many times is he going to lose that thing? That's the third time this century."
This statement sparked an argument among the gods on whether the guitar was worth saving or if it is a lost cause. One by one the gods quieted as a cold wind blew through the throne room. The hearth blew out as the room began to fill with the smell of ozone. The gods turned their attention to the doors as they flew off their hinges. Standing in the doorway at nearly 15 feet was the Celestial of Wind.
"None of you are in the position to question its importance," Attmoz spoke with a low and deep voice. His horns reflected the moonlight into the now dark room and his single eye held a glare colder than the poles. "My guitar is the only thing preventing the Void from leaving Starhenge in ruins."
"Why do you rely on an instrument to protect yourself?" Zeus asked, annoyed with their surprise guest. "You celestials have more power than you know what to do with yet you sit around and play your instruments."
"Might I remind you that the celestials have defended more times than you have gods on this mountain," Attmoz's voice remained calm throughout this exchange as he enjoyed being the strongest being in the room.
"Can I leave now or are you still insulting me?" Jacob asked from the corner he retreated to while watching the two immortals. He knew from experience that it's best to let the old ones have their space while fighting.
"Visit the Hall of Heroes before you go on your mission. The Time Master requests your presence," Zeus told him while not taking his eyes off the angered celestial.
With a wave of his hand, Zeus opened a blue color beneath Jacob and he fell in. His trident rose from the ground and followed him through. Unbeknownst to them, another celestial being was within the throne room. Hiding in the shadows of Zeus's marble throne was the Celestial of Shadows, Loodvigg.
