Welcome to the 17th dimension, home of the 9th hero. I have nothing else to say. I know that my story isn't exactly a Paw Patrol story. I only put it in this category because it doesn't exactly fit in a category and Paw Patrol plays a major role in the story, even though they aren't always going to be mentioned. Jacob finds himself facing a strange problem in this chapter.
Jacob nodded and got up from the table. He glowed a bright white and changed to a stronger and more appropriate form. Standing before the Time Master was a bronze knight with a large bronze trident. His eyes were a bright green with white pupils. There were holes above the visor where they glowed through.
"I haven't seen this one," The Time Master said as he walked around the knight. "What's special about this one?"
Jacob turned to face him. "I call it Kallahan. The outside is covered in armor and the inside is just a machine."
The Time master made his way to the back where a large gear was protruding from the armor. It was spinning at a slow pace. "If there's a machine in there, then where are you."
"I am the machine," Jacob said. "My skin hardened into bronze and everything inside became gears, motors, and wires. If anything breaks, I will just fix it and move on."
The Time Master nodded and opened a portal. Jacob made his way towards it but tripped on one of the bricks in the floor and fell into the portal.
Jacob fell into a forest and landed in a lake. He pulled himself out of the lake and examined the damage. Several joints were clicking and some armor panels were out of place. The gear in the back was still spinning and that was all he cared about.
He looked around and realized he was in a forest. It was quiet and little bugs could be seen roaming around. He found his way out of the forest and saw a castle in the distance. He considered going towards it but stopped when he saw he was not alone. Standing near him was a gray cat with a blue mane and blue eyes. It stared at him for a moment before disappearing.
He gripped his trident tighter and made his way towards the castle. The walk was long but he made it there before the sun went down. Upon arriving, he immediately took note of the guards that turned his way.
"Who are you?" One of them asked.
Jacob worded his answer carefully. "I come from a distant land and wish to speak to the one in charge."
One of the guards went inside and the rest kept their spears pointed at him. He turned his trident upside down and drove the end of it into the ground. It was something he learned while spending time with knights. It showed that he had no intention of using it.
The guard returned and was followed by a strange group: a girl in a purple dress, a girl in a red jacket, some strange cat thing, and a boy with a bow. They watched him carefully as they approached.
Purple girl was the first to speak. "Who are you?"
Jacob's voice turned metallic. "I am Kallahan. I have traveled far to find something here that may help me."
"Why the green eyes?" The cat thing asked.
The sound of gears could be heard as Kallahan turned his neck. "I have had them for centuries. They are a side effect of my weapon."
They all turned their attention to the trident in the ground. Its green stone glowed brightly and the cracks in the ground glowed the same way. Jacket girl was about to speak but Kallahan fell to his knees. Smoke was coming from around the gear and from his left shoulder plating. The gear slowed to a stop before sparking and spinning back to its slow pace.
"What was that?" Archer boy asked.
Kallahan returned to standing. "I have suffered damage from falling but I should be able to fix it. It is nothing to worry about."
"What are you looking for?" Purple girl asked.
"That is none of your concern. I will go to it and get the information I need. Then, I will leave."
"You didn't answer my-"
Kallahan pulled his trident from the ground. "I do not need to answer your question. I will find it on my own if I have to. I thought you would be helpful, but clearly I was wrong."
He turned to leave but jacket girl shouted something he didn't expect to hear. "For the honor of Greyskull!"
A flash of light appeared and he turned to find himself facing an 8-foot woman with a white sword. She leveled the point of the sword with his chest and a white beam shot from it. He flew back into a nearby tree but that didn't faze him.
"Levi Gladio," He said. "Are you She-Ra?"
"That is none of your concern."
Kallahan's trident changed to a sword with the stone in the guard. "I was told you are a great hero. I am one as well. I only want what I came for."
She-Ra's eyes narrowed. "Who is Levi Gladio?"
"Latin for light sword. Levi was a great hero and you now wield his weapon. Help me and I will ensure that you and your friends are safe."
Another beam of light shot from She-Ra''s sword and hit him in the chest. More smoke began to pour from him and he fell forward, but this time, his legs weren't there to catch him. The gear in his back halted but didn't start spinning again. A white orb rolled out of his helmet and everything was quiet.
She-Ra walked over and poked him with her sword but nothing happened. "Hey, guys, I think it's safe."
The rest of the group walked over to inspect the now dead machine. Archer boy started poking around the head while purple girl spoke with She-Ra. Cat thing had other plans as she poked the white orb with a stick. After declaring it safe, she threw down the stick and reached for it. She-Ra quickly took notice.
"Catra, maybe you shouldn't," She tried to say but she was too late.
Catra touched the orb and it immediately shattered. The energy that was held inside went into Catra's skin. Her friends watched as she closed her eyes and her back straightened. She opened her eyes but they were glowing white. They returned to their normal color but Catra didn't return to normal.
Catra walked around the machine and climbed on its back. She pushed a few buttons hidden under some of the plates and all of the back plates opened. She looked in the left shoulder and pulled out a charred motor.
She-Ra watched. "What are you doing, Catra?"
Catra looked at her and smiled. "You never listen, do you? I told you I would leave but you just had to break me."
"What do you mean?" Purple girl asked. "You didn't tell us anything."
Catra scoffed. "Isn't it obvious? The white orb was my last resort. It contains my soul, memories, knowledge, and power."
She demonstrated this by picking up the large bronze sword with ease. She pointed it at She-Ra. "My Turn."
She-Ra backed away. "This isn't funny, Catra."
Catra growled. "I'm not joking!"
She swung the sword but missed when She-Ra moved. The sword's blade buried itself in the ground. As she struggled to get it out, purple girl threw some sparkles and Catra passed out. Her friends all looked down at her while they pondered what to do.
Catra awoke and found herself on a red couch. She looked around and saw a magical barrier surrounding her. Outside the barrier, stood her friends who noticed that she was awake.
"Catra?" She-Ra asked.
A ball of ice appeared in Catra's hand and she threw it at the barrier. "I told you I'm not Catra! My name is Kallahan but you probably don't believe that either."
Purple girl stepped forward. "What do you mean?"
"Catra touched the orb. She absorbed my soul and now I'm in control. I can't leave until I fix my body from the damage you caused."
She-Ra stepped forward. "Where's Catra?"
Kallahan smiled. "She's in a dream. I put her there so she won't suffer. She already had her body used before and I'll make sure she won't have to experience it again."
The group walked into a nearby corner. "Is it telling the truth, Glimmer?" She-Ra asked.
"I don't know but I might know what to do." She said.
What are you going to do?" Archer boy asked.
"I know a spell that will isolate and imprison a foreign object in someone's mind. When she wakes up, only Catra will be in control."
Glimmer walked over to Kallahan and cast her spell. Kallahan immediately fell asleep and entered the mindscape.
Catra awoke and found herself in the ruins of a dark palace. The ceiling was high and there were several holes in it. A dark pit was in the center of the room. She walked towards it and looked inside.
"Careful, dear. It's a long way down," A voice called from behind.
Catra turned and saw someone standing in a cage. She looked closer and saw… herself?
"Surprised?" It said.
"What are you?" Catra asked.
"The name's Kallahan. We met in the real world. The little orb you touched was my soul and guess who absorbed it."
"No," Catra shook her head. "That's not true. That's impossible."
Kallahan sighed. "Listen, Catra. I'm stuck in your head until my body is fixed so I can go back to it. Let me fix my body and I will leave."
Catra looked around. "Where am i?"
"Welcome to the mindscape. The place you go when your body is asleep but you are not. We're stuck here until you wake up."
Lightning could be seen through the holes in the roof. It started to become more violent.
"What's that storm?" Catra asked. If this was her mind then a storm wasn't a good thing.
Kallahan looked up. "It means you're waking up. I would take control but they used some spell to trap me. The only way for me to be free is if you open the cage."
Catra hissed at him. "I will never let you out."
Catra felt herself go weak and fell to the floor. She woke up and found herself in her bed. The sun was down. She looked out at the balcony and saw someone who might be able to provide answers. She got up and walked to the door.
"Hey, Adora," She called.
Adora turned towards her but remained hesitant. "Are you really you?"
Catra gave a small smile. "Would Kallahan do this?"
She reached forward and pulled Adora into a deep kiss. Adora was surprised but kissed back. The kiss lasted a few minutes before Catra pulled away.
"Kallahan isn't gone," She said. "He wants something but I don't know what."
Adora smiled. "We'll deal with that later. For now, let's be glad that he can't fight us anymore."
The two went back to their room and got ready for bed. They went to sleep thinking that they solved another problem but they don't know what they brought upon themselves. An important lesson to learn is to never imprison Jacob.
The next day
Catra woke up to the morning sun. She groaned and climbed out of the bed. She walked into the bathroom and splashed water on her looked in the mirror and stared at her reflection. It stared back and everything seemed normal. This lasted until her reflection smiled at her.
Catra jumped back. "What?"
Her reflection laughed. "Did you really think that you could get rid of me?"
"This isn't possible."
Kallahan leaned closer to the mirror. "Anything is possible when I'm around. I wouldn't make too much noise, though. Nobody can see me but you. Now, let's get down to business."
"What business?" Catra asked as she approached the mirror.
"I've been poking around your memories and discovered some interesting things. Did you really believe that would be the end of him?"
Catra's heart dropped. "Who?"
Kallahan smiled. "I met Prime a few million years ago. He made the mistake of trying to imprison me as well but he paid the price. I'll tell you how he's alive and how to kill him but you need to set me free from this little prison. Do we have a deal?"
Catra thought for a moment. "I'll consider it."
Kallahan bowed and the mirror returned to normal. Catra quickly got dressed and left to find someone who might be able to help. She walked into the dining room and found Micah enjoying his breakfast.
"I need your help."
Micah looked up at her. "Is this about your friend from yesterday?"
Catra ignored his question. "Is there a way to go into the mindscape with someone?"
Micah stood up from the table and motioned for her to follow. They entered a large library and Micah searched the shelves. He stopped on a particular book and opened it.
"It is very possible. It's a really simple spell. Whose mind are you looking to enter?"
"I want you to enter my mind with me. I want to speak to this thing but I'm not going alone."
Micah nodded and they left an isolated part of the castle. Micah locked the door and they both laid on the floor. Micah performed the spell and they both fell asleep. Catra woke up and found herself in the same black palace but something was wrong.
More pieces of the palace have fallen and several walls have collapsed. The pit remained the same but a black fog was collecting at the top of it. They looked over at the cage and saw Kallahan in the back corner. Catra walked over to him.
"Hey," She called. She hit the cage a few times and he looked up at her. His once bright eyes were now dull.
"You shouldn't have returned," He said. His voice was low.
"What's going on with your pit?" She asked as she gestured to the dark hole.
Kallahan looked at it. "I don't have much knowledge on the mindscape. The pit could be fear, regret, or something else."
Micah stepped forward. "My daughter told me that you entered Catra's mind but won't leave. Why won't you leave?"
Kallahan hissed. "I can't leave until I have somewhere to go. Your friend destroyed most of the systems in my body. I can't leave until it is fixed."
Catra noticed a change. "What happened to you? You were aggressive and now you're curled up in the corner?"
"Being near this pit is affecting me." He said. "If I stay here any longer, I might be driven insane."
"I'm still not setting you free."
Kallahan sighed. "I don't care. I just want to be away from this pit."
"I might be able to move your prison to another part of the mind." Micah said. He looked around. "It seems this part is falling apart, anyway."
Micah created a magical rune with his hands and they teleported to another part of the mind. Catra looked around and saw that they were in a large library. A large fireplace was at one end of the room. Above the mantle, was a large painting of the Time Master.
She looked around but the cage was gone. Kallahan was free but still looked like her. He was walking around the shelves, looking at each book.
"So you're free now?" She asked.
Kallahan turned to look at her. "I'm as free as I can get. I could take control right now but I think I'll stay here and try to find a way to find the grove."
"What grove?" Micah asked. "This is the first time you mentioned it. What is it?"
Kallahan pulled a book off the shelf and laid it on a table. "I have done some thinking while imprisoned. I have come to the conclusion that fighting you is getting me nowhere. I'll need your help if I'm going to find the grove."
Catra walked around and looked at the many books. They were in various colors and materials but they all had one thing in common: their covers were blank. They had no titles.
"What's up with these books?" She asked.
"These books are knowledge and memories," Kallahan responded. "This library holds all of the knowledge and memories of the mind."
Micah turned his attention to the fireplace. "What about this book?"
Kallahan followed his gaze. On the mantle, was a larger book. This one was chained closed. On the cover was a symbol: a circle with a simple trident shape in the middle.
"Don't touch that book," He said. "That book contains information on all heroes. The real book is in the real world and is kept in a library. We call it The Book of Heroes. All 13 heroes are in that book."
"Why would you tell us this?" Catra asked. "Now we know what's in the book."
"I'm trying to be honest," Kallahan said through clenched teeth. "I told you I needed your help finding the grove Being honest is the best way to convince you to help me."
Micah suddenly ran up to Catra. "We should leave before the others wake up."
"Sure." She turned to where Kallahan was now sitting. "What about you? What are you going to do?"
Kallahan sighed. "I'll stay here. This is your body and life. I'm not going to interrupt that but I can't leave until I fix my body. Don't worry about talking to me because you should be able to hear me when you're out in the real world and I'll hear you."
Catra scoffed. "So, you're just fine with me controlling everything while you sit here and not do anything? Are you even able to see anything?"
Yes, I can see everything. If you're worried about me seeing you nude, I should probably mention that I'm not exactly into females."
Catra's face flushed. "I wasn't suggesting that! I was just wondering what you're able to do."
Micah took this opportunity to leave. "I'll let you two figure this stuff out. I have somewhere to be."
How do I get out of here?" Catra asked as she watched him leave.
"Just wake up," He said before disappearing.
This left them alone. Catra turned and found Kallahan to be distracted with the book. She quickly walked over and closed it before taking a seat next to him.
"We have some things to discuss." She said.
Adora has been searching for her girlfriend for several hours. The only place she hasn't looked was where they stored the bronze armor and sword. She walked in and found Catra attempting to pull a metal cylinder out of a large gear. The rest of the room was covered in various wires, motors, and gears.
"What are you doing, Catra?" Adora asked as she approached the girl.
Catra gave up and sighed. "He said he had the strength of a neutron star but he's not strong enough to pull this out. What are you doing here?"
"I was looking for you." She said as she walked around the empty armor. "Micah said that the thing was free from its prison and you spoke with it. Did you find out why it was here?"
"He's looking for a grove of prophetic trees in the forest. It's not the strangest thing I've heard. He told me about the war with his father and that he needs to get a prophecy from these trees to help him stop his father from ruling the dimensions."
"What is he doing now?"
Catra didn't answer. She went back to trying to pull the cylinder out of the gear. She eventually stopped trying and her eyes and veins turned green. She grabbed the cylinder one last time and was able to remove it from the gear. Her eyes and veins went back to normal as she observed the gear.
"This is a problem." She said as she took a closer look at it.
Adora kneeled beside her. "What's wrong with it?"
"There's a large crack in it. When he fell from the sky, he must have landed on it. It's also bent. This wouldn't be a problem but some of the other parts came loose in the fall and went into the gear's path. The gear kept turning and crushed most of the important stuff."
"You seem to know a lot about it. "Adora said as she looked at the crack. It wasn't visible at first but a thin crack could be seen and the gear was missing a few teeth. "How could this tiny crack cause so much damage?"
Catra turned her attention to the various burnt motors. "I only know what he tells me. As for the crack, it could be fixed. The damage was mostly caused by all this stuff coming loose. Jacob will fix this stuff later."
"Who's Jacob?"
Catra turned to her. "He told me that his real name is Jacob. Kallahan is what he calls the armor."
Catra walked over and pulled the helmet off. There were many wires inside the helmet but the main problem was the two bulbs in the eye sockets. One of them was tinted green but the other was completely burned. Catra removed the wires carefully to find the inside of the helmet covered in ash.
Adora gagged when she smelled it. "What the hell happened? Is there anything that can be salvaged?"
Catra shrugged and threw the helmet in the corner.
Careful, said a voice in her head. These parts are important.
"I know, I know," She muttered.
"What?" Adora asked.
"I wasn't talking to you." Catra gestured to her head. "I can hear him. He speaks to me and gets mad every time I throw something."
"So… how long is this going to take?"
"I don't know. I'll let him figure that out."
Catra took a deep breath and closed her eyes. She stood straighter and opened her eyes. They flashed white before returning to normal. She turned to face Adora but the love in her eyes was gone. Catra wasn't there anymore.
"You shouldn't be here while I'm working." She told Adora. "I need silence and I don't need you here to distract me."
Adora was surprised by this sudden change in attitude. "What did you do, Catra?"
Jacob pushed past her and started picking up the scattered gears and sprockets. "I am not Catra."
"How did you escape the prison? Glimmer said it would contain you."
Jacob ignored her and continued picking up the parts. She piled them on a table and examined the motors. Most of them were burned but some of them are still usable. She opened one of them and the entire coil was melted. She scowled and threw it at the wall.
Careful, Catra told her. Those parts are important.
"Shut up." Jacob muttered. She turned to face Adora. "I need you to leave. I'm going to start rebuilding this and start testing the systems. I don't want Catra to start yelling at me because you died in one of the failed tests."
Adora reluctantly nodded and left the room. She stood in the hallway and thought for a moment before leaving. She walked around the castle until she found Glimmer in her room.
"I thought you said that your spell would hold." Adora said as she stared up at her friend.
Glimmer peaked her head over the bed. "I said it should hold. The only way to undo it is if the owner of the mind sets them free."
"But why would Catra set this thing free. It's using her to rebuild itself. Why is she just okay with it?"
Glimmer shrugged. "I don't know why Catra made this choice. If she trusts this thing, then you just need to trust her. Just wait and she might give you an explanation."
"Fine, but I'm keeping an eye on her."
Several hours later
Adora was tired of waiting for Catra to come out of the room. She walked in and was surprised to find that the room was clean. All of the parts were neatly piled into what appears to be trash and what's still usable. The trash pile consisted of motors with broken magnets, melted coils, and cracked casings. There were also various burnt wires and bent gears in the pile.
The armor was mostly fixed. It was now filled with new parts and the large gear was back in its place. The sword laid on a table and was sharpened but the green stone was now removed from the guard. She was about to reach for it but Catra jumped up from the floor with a welding mask on.
She lifted the mask. "What are you doing here?"
"I came to see if you were done." Adora looked back at the armor. "It looks like it's finished."
Catra carefully put the stone back in the sword. "Some of the armor plates need to be readjusted but it is mostly finished. The joints no longer click and the main gear is connected to the generator."
"If this thing uses magic, then why does it need a generator?"
"It wields magic but it does not use the magic to live. The generator acts as a heart. If it breaks, then he dies. If it's fixed or replaced, then he lives again."
"So, he's immortal?"
Catra took the sword back to the armor. "He is partially immortal. He doesn't age but he can be killed with a weapon. He told me that his form also plays a role."
"He just told you all of this?"
Catra turned to look at her. "Yes. He told me this because he wants me to trust him. He only wants this grove of trees. He has told me other things but I will tell you later."
Catra went back to work on the armor. She started connecting some of the wires. She tightened some of the bolts and prepared to test the generator.
"Stand back." She told Adora.
She connected the wire and turned on the generator, manually. The main gear started turning and various lights turned on as the systems received power.
Adora stepped towards her. "What's happening now?"
Wait, Jacob told her. It needs to test the functionality.
"He said it needs to test the functionality." Catra told her.
"I've never seen you so excited about a machine. In fact, I've never seen you work on one."
Catra faced her. "I need this guy out of my head. He's annoying and keeps saying I smell funny."
Adora laughed. "What does that have to do with anything?"
"He wants me to take a bath."
They were interrupted by the sound of gears turning. Multiple motors turned as they were tested. Nothing came loose and nothing was destroyed. This success soon ended when the generator started smoking. Catra quickly turned it off.
"I don't get it!" She yelled. "It should work. There is nothing wrong with it."
"Have you tried asking Entrapta?"
Jacob quickly took control and held a knife against Adora's throat. "I'm not asking her for help. Catra's memories told me everything about her. She is impulsive and distracting. She's a genius but I can't work with her."
"Maybe Bow can help?"
Jacob growled. "Fine, but if he breaks anything, I can't guarantee he'll live."
Adora left to retrieve her friend. Jacob turned her attention to the machine. Everything was fine except the generator.
Jacob let out a sigh. "What is the problem." She asked herself.
"Is there a problem?"
Jacob turned and saw that she was not alone. A young male with a bow has entered the room.
"Are you supposed to be Bow?" She asked him.
Bow nodded and smiled nervously. "I'm assuming that you're Jacob?"
Jacob nodded and pointed to the armor. "That needs to be fixed. The generator is smoking and can't handle the stress."
"Have you tried finding another power source or upgrading this one?" He asked while examining the generator.
"I only got it 50 years ago. It can't be outdated already."
Bow gasped. "Really? You need to get a new power source. Maybe a crystal can help upgrade this."
He went to the drawers and looked around before grabbing a blue crystal. He walked over to the machine and pressed it against the generator. It immediately attached itself to it and the generator started glowing. Bow found the switch to turn it on and the generator roared to life. It went through the same process it did earlier but it didn't stop this time. The generator stopped testing and the machine stopped.
Catra took control and walked over to it. A white orb came up her throat and fell out of her mouth. She picked it up and put it in the machine. The orb shattered as soon it touched the machine and the armor absorbed the energy. The front plates closed and the back gear started turning.
The head turned to face her. "Thank you." He said. "I said I would repay you but I think it's information for all of your friends to hear.
An hour later
Everyone was gathered in the meeting room. Catra, Adora, Bow, Glimmer, and Micah sat at the table while Jacob stood at the front of the room.
"Where is Entrapta?" He asked.
"She's in the Fright Zone." Glimmer told him.
Jacob nodded. "It has come to my attention that you recently defeated a great evil in this dimension. I'm here to tell you that you did not kill Prime."
Micah rose from his seat. "What do you mean?"
"I met Prime only once but I learned many things. Prime is a consciousness in a machine and nothing more. You killed one part of him. He would be a fool to have all of him in the same place. The only way to kill him is to destroy his center."
"What is this center?" Bow asked.
Jacob turned towards him. "The Helm acts as his center. It is the brain and heart of Horde Prime. Destroying it is the only way to kill him. Sadly, I do not know where it is. He left this dimension when you defeated him. Now, I require your help."
"You attempted to fight us." Glimmer said as she stood. "You stole our friend's mind and used her to rebuild you. What are you even looking for?"
"I am looking for a grove of prophetic trees. They will help me defeat my father."
"We're not helping you find some talking trees. You're insane."
Jacob's grip tightened on his sword. "If I don't stop my father, then Prime will be the least of your worries. Help me find these trees and I will personally ensure that Prime never bothers you again."
Glimmer sighed. "We'll consider it. For now, don't leave Brightmoon. You are to stay here until we figure out what we're going to do."
Jacob nodded and walked into the hallway. He sat on the floor and stared at the wall in front of him. Why is everything so difficult, he thought as he contemplated leaving to find the grove himself.
He heard a portal open and close and looked to his left. He was surprised to see that one of the robots found him. This one was divided into two halves. The top was a dark blue and had sharp edges and corners. The bottom half was light gray on the top but was painted black on the rest of the sides. The only thing that separated the two halves was a long yellow bar. It was flat and wide. The front had a dark blue wedge on it. The word that was written on the wedge told him the robot's name: Icewave.
Jacob groaned when he saw it. "Why do you guys always find me? It's not safe for you to be following me."
The robot didn't speak. It just turned and backed into the wall. The combustion engine in the top remained silent.
"I should have given you the ability to speak. You're not one to sit and relax. What do you want?"
Icewave remained silent. It could be asleep but that is difficult to judge since they don't have eyes. The door to the meeting room opened and Catra stepped out. She turned and saw a knight and a robot sitting against the wall.
"What is that?" She asked.
Jacob turned his head. "Meet Icewave. He's not one to talk much so don't expect him to say anything. These guys just follow me everywhere."
Icewave did not enjoy this intruder. It fired up its weapon and reached full speed in a matter of seconds. It approached Catra and prepared to hit her. Jacob reached out and grabbed the bar while it was spinning. It cut a gash in the bronze but was fully stopped. Smoke began to pour from the exhaust as the engine struggled to spin the weapon.
"Don't attack the innocent." He told it.
Icewave turned off the engine and left through a portal. It was gone as quickly as it came.
"Why did it come?" Catra asked as she stared at the spot where the portal was.
Jacob stood. "I don't know. They just come and go. They mainly stay in the first dimension but they like to wander. I gave them life and freedom. They're enjoying it. I'm going to take a look around the woods. If your friends ask where I am, tell them I'm resting somewhere."
Jacob walked out the door and headed to the woods. He walked around but didn't find much. He came across the occasional animal and Chomp smashing boulders with her hammer. He saw a small hut in the woods but made his way back to Brightmoon.
Later that night
Catra was standing on the balcony that branched off from her room with Adora. She looked at the stars as she wondered if she'll have to face Prime again. The stars shined brightly in the sky.
"Beautiful, aren't they?"
Catra turned and saw Jacob approaching her. He walked to the rail and leaned his sword against it.
"The stars are wondrous things." He told her. "Wouldn't you agree?"
"Um, yeah. They're great." She said. "Can you really kill him?"
"To be honest," He sighed. "I don't know. I had the chance to kill him millions ago but I'm sure he has grown stronger since then."
Catra thought for a moment. "Can these trees really help you defeat your father? Can they really see the future?"
"They give prophecies but won't give you a direct answer. They give you the choices but won't tell you what will happen if you choose. They tell the future in a very cryptic way."
"What about that robot that was here?"
Jacob let out a long sigh. "They are difficult to explain. They come and go. They mostly spend time with their builders. Some of them go around the dimensions and save people but most of them just stay with their builders and choose a peaceful life. Icewave chose a life of peace but still wanders the dimensions and saves people."
"Did all of them just become heroes?"
"No. One of them seeks to ruin the peace. I've seen him roam the dimensions but I do not engage. He's the darkest of them and prefers to destroy and take revenge for being used. He manages to defeat all of the robots that try to stop him."
Catra laughed. "How do these little machines have such big attitudes?"
"They're pretty strong even though they're small. Did your friends decide if they're going to help me?"
"Yeah. They decided that they should help. You said you would protect us from whatever threat you're facing and I believe you. The other princesses are on their way. They want to meet you in person and try to help you with these trees."
Jacob nodded. "You should get some sleep. Finding the trees will be difficult if they don't want to be found."
"Yeah, because finding trees in a forest is difficult."
This made him laugh. "You should get to sleep. I will be here in the morning. If it makes you feel any better, I'll hang out with the guards."
Catra nodded and walked back into her room. Jacob stared at the stars. The stars across the dimensions were different but 12 constellations could be seen in every dimension at different times of the year. The current constellation is called Shadowed Glare. Jacob stared at this group of stars before going back inside. Unbeknownst to him, the shadows around him seemed darker and more solid. It was as if something was hiding within them.
The 17th dimension is an interesting one. The time has come for a new prophecy and perhaps the trees can provide insight on the 14th hero and where to find them. Icewave is a 250 pound machine with a gas powered combustion engine. It was built by Marc DeVidts and has competed on Battlebots for a long time. It is amazing to watch because most of its fights end with it splitting another robot in half.
