After the terrifying incident with the twins, it seemed that there was not a single Elf in his house that won't leave the babies alone for the night.

There had been a discussion on who would be sleeping in the nursery with the twins until they were old enough to walk around unsupervised, and Neylo, Kàno, and Moryo agreed to rotate schedules between them to camp out with Ambarussa to make sure they didn't climb out of their crib again (for which the next morning they had witnessed the babies actually climb on top of the other over the crib's railing, one of them managing to undo the latch that kept their bars up).

The morning after, they had found the pantry door open, fallen food scatter everywhere with a shelf collapsed.

A shattered jar of cookies lay in a crumbled heap in the center (thank Eru the glass didn't cut them), a large bag of flour ripped and spilled across the tiles floor coating the fallen essentials.

Tiny hand-prints and crawl-marks trailed from the pantry and into the hallway, which hadn't been noticed until after the twins found their way back in their cradle.

The carpets trailed with flour and cookie crumbs, smeared by their crawling knees, leaving more handprints matted on the floors and the walls, to show that one or both of them had been attempting to stand.

They eventually led up the back stairs where the servants often took leading back to their chambers

Such a mess that everyone had somehow missed in the rush to find the twins, Fëanàro thought in clear exasperation, and such noise they must have made.

Likely while everyone was looking in the courtyard, the forge, the backyard, or even the gallery where his wife's work and his own forged weapons framed on the walls were held, no one thought to double-check the kitchens, the hidden staircase, or even the living room twice over to find the evidence of their whereabouts in the circles they had went through.

It was quite embarrassing.

Turkafinwë had laughed at them when he heard about the twins' little adventure, after coming back from his hunting trip with Huan and held both of Ambarussa on either arm.

A red-faced Moryo cuffed his older brother on the head for that, making Turko grunt, which then made the twins start laughing.

12 sentences.

If either Celegorm or Huan had been home at the time the twins had went missing in their cradle, they probably would have tracked down Ambarussa in a heartbeat. Here the twins are not even walking yet, so they are less than 12 months old (in human terms), but they are old enough to crawl and, apparently, climb.

I actually wrote a different circumstance that involved the third eldest Fëanorian sneaking into the house around the same time Ambarussa were found in the kitchen by Fëanor, but it had way more than ten-eleven sentences to tell.
