The family went to visit Nerdanel's parents, in a reserved woodland estate some miles from Tirion, bringing the little ones with them (Nerdanel's moods seemed strangely forlorn, so it was agreed that a visit to her old house was long overdue).

Mahtan had also found the twins' most recent tale of terror amusing when hearing it from his daughter and son-in-law.

The twins, of course, laughed with him, completing a house full of blazing copper-heads in the room (with Nerdanel and Neylafinwë included), bright and lively as the glowing fires of Aüle's great forge.

Their babyish squeals sounding light, childish, and still very much at the exact same time…though this time, Fëanàro scowled.

The event seemed too recent to fully appreciate the humor of such a scare, but it didn't take long for the sound of their babbling voices to soothe away his irritation.

Their maternal grandfather had both twins on his knee, each one so small and looking like the exact image of one another.

But Feanaro could now tell which one was which, through their actions before the slightest difference in appearance.

Pityo sat calmly, shucking on his thumb with wide lazy eyes, while Telvo was standing against Mahtan's broad chest, petting lightly at his beard like the curious, little babe he was.

"It is like holding two of you at this age, my daughter," boomed the red-haired smith jovially, causing Nerdanel to roll her eyes good-naturedly.

It was true, Fëanàro agreed after a quick observation, that these two looked so like Nerdanel in the painted portrait of her infancy, from the wispy curls in her red hair to the dappled freckles across her nose, that it was like it came to life twice over in mirrored images.

He remember how he thought Neylo to be the same at that age, though time had quickly proved the features in his eldest son to be physically sharper and more noble than even his wife had looked, which was clearly inherited from his Finwëan side (his own face).

"Fëanàro Curufinwë," Mahtan said to his former apprentice, now son-in-law, giving a grinning Telvo a little bounce on his strong arm, "you are in for a challenge with these two yet."
