Author's Note: I did not expect to be doing a multi-chapter version of what was initially a short story. But, here we are. This would not be possible without all the people who I asked to let me use their OC for this story. Well, most of them but I filled in the blanks. To those that gave permission, thank you. Making this a multi-chapter would not have worked without you.

I want to point out that these chapters will be shorter than my competition fics most of the time since while the setting does take place in Total Drama, the focus will be on Yves and Vinoripmav. Though, I will do my best to make sure each OC sent has some camera time.

Mega Mechas was written by NumberOneKatieFan. This is not a rewritten version of that story for clarification.

Vin and the Shadow Dancer Chapter Two: It Was Not a Dream

She thought it was just a reverie. She understood meeting Knick when she got out of that plane. Turns out, she already did reunite with him. However, that is no longer the case. The case she has now is a burden inflicted upon herself.

Pitch blackness with no light in sight. To the left? To the right? Not even a speck. Voices can be heard through her left ear. Then she hears more through her right ear. What are these voices? She could not be at the airport. These are not voices of questioning her decision. Rather, voices of excitement.

"Welcome once again contestants to Total Drama," Exclaimed the voice of the most dashing host ever Chris McLean.

Total Drama? Must be airing on a television screen. She cannot be back there. The Radiant Redemption finale is done. She must have fallen asleep during her ride to the apartment of her boyfriend's brother. Why would her boyfriend tune into that show who knows? She will soon find out.

Yves slowly opens her eyes and blinks until her vision clears. She sees Chris in front and a child standing next to him? Does Chris have a daughter? No way; most likely adopted. She also realizes she is sitting on a chair. Her body is starting to wake up.

It feels too windy to be in the apartment. Did Knick take her to a park? That cannot be possible. Why on Earth will Chris and most likely his daughter be at a park?

"Welcome to Cali-Tokyo, home of this new season of the hottest reality show," The young kid next to Chris exclaimed with excitement. "I'm Dana. I will be co-hosting with Chris for the time being."

A new season? Cali-Tokyo? What kind of prank is this?

Yves decides to look to her left. She seems to be in some sort of dome. Outside of the dome seems to be a city. This is not a prank. Has she been kidnapped by crazy fans? Anxiety is starting to fill her body. She looks to her right and her eyes immediately widen.

Thirteen people look like teens beside her. One of them is Buck, but why is he here? Did he also got kidnapped? Wait no, none of them are tied up. Not even herself. Yves also recognizes a few others sitting on a chair.

One of the guys has fair tone skin, brown eyes, and a brown crew cut, which is stylish. He has a big mouth, and both his nose and ears are small. Has long legs and an average build. He is wearing a midnight blue t-shirt with little waves all around the shirt, gray jogger pants with yellowish-green side stripes, and red shoes.

She recognizes him. That is Nolan, one of her teammates when they were in the Cranium Cats.

One girl has long black hair tied in a flip twist ponytail. She has fair skin. She has long eyelashes paired with her beautiful grey eyes that are emphasized by black eyeliner and mascara, a little nose, and pink lipstick. She also is five feet and one inch. Her body type is banana-looking and is petite.

She has white and gold hoop earrings and wears a white floral print tie-strap mini dress, a light pink ribbed knit cropped cardigan sweater, and white leather platform sneakers.

That is Niu. They did not talk at all, but Yves sees her as a potential friend if they ever have the chance to interact.

Then she remembers that girl. The one that planned her elimination in her debut season.

This one has black wavy hair in a ponytail with fluffy bangs, brown eyes, ivory skin, and has many freckles on her cheeks. She has a petite body with slightly muscular arms and wears a white sweater with puffy sleeves, a cat head silhouette, a black high-waisted skirt, matching black stockings, and white flats with black bows on the tips. She also has a rabbit charm necklace.

Violette, the one that she never thought would get rid of her. Yves has to put up with her now. At least Georgia is not here. Cannot win them all. The last person the dancer recognizes rapidly gets her heart pounding.

She has straight red velvet-dyed hair that passes her chest and has side bangs. Her skin color is white, has green eyes, soft pink lips, and a small nose. She has some eyeshadow on. Five feet and one inch. Is fit and wears a plain colorful shirt with no logo and some jean shorts, pink shoes and has one sock red and the other green. She has a Fitbit watch on her left wrist.

This is Sami, her friend. Well, used to be her friend. Yves remembers the day she planned her elimination. That was one of the worst decisions she made. It was right at first. But after the radiant finale, she realized it was not worth it.

Yves can no longer look at Sami, so she analyzes the rest of the people sitting.

There is a young boy that is incredibly short at exactly four feet and one inch, weighing fifty pounds. Wow, if he is a teenager, he sure is short is what Yves is thinking. The boy has medium-length ginger hair that reaches his neck, green eyes, white skin, and freckles all over him. He is wearing black frame glasses, black trousers, a white shirt with a black sweater on top of it that has a queen pawn printed in, and lastly a checkerboard style handkerchief around his neck. The dude looks like he is from Ireland.

Another male sits next to the short kid. This one has short black hair, black eyes, brown skin, and is skinny yet muscular. He is five feet ten inches tall and weighs a hundred forty-eight pounds. He is wearing a silver and black stripe jacket, black shirt, gold chain around his neck, orange shorts, silver boots, and a purple baseball cap worn backward. Yves also notices the dude having a hammerhead shark two on his right bicep.

Might have to watch that guy out in case he causes trouble.

The next guy is American with short black hair with a red streak in front of it, green eyes, an average-looking face, lanky with not much muscle, and stands at five feet six inches. He is pale as a ghost but not as pale as Vinoripmav. He gives off a weird vibe like the vampire in her dream. Was it a dream? Does not matter right now. The male Yves is seeing is wearing a black t-shirt, long coffee color brown pants, black shoes, and a hockey mask on top of his head. Yeah, unsettling vibes.

The ninth person Yves sees is female. This girl is overall pretty thin having a small hourglass figure. She is five feet and ten inches while weighing one hundred twenty-five pounds. She oval shape blue eyes, blonde double ponytail hair that goes down to her shoulders, and has a little tan. She is wearing a light blue sleeveless crop top along with baggy white jeans and white heels. She also is wearing blue hoop earrings, pink lipstick, black mascara, and a pink butterfly necklace.

That is nice. Yves also has gold butterfly earrings and a matching pendant. Maybe she can along with that girl.

The next one near the hourglass figure girl is a boy. The boy has short-shaven black hair, black eyes, a thin body, and black skin. He is five feet and ten inches while weighing one hundred sixty pounds. He wears a gray turtleneck sweater underneath a dark brown trench coat along with dark brown trousers with black penny loafers.

That dude wears a trench coat. That means three things to Yves. He is a fan of her boyfriend, is a troublemaker like her boyfriend, or just like wearing trench coats. Further observation is required.

The girl sitting next to the trench coat dude looks rather intimidating. Perhaps because of her stoic expression. She has long straight black hair, green slanted eyes, and peach white skin. She is five feet and tow inches weighing one hundred four pounds. Her body is curvy, having a noticeable bust and butt. She is wearing a brown shirt with a gray tie, matching dress pants, white gloves, gray socks, and black shoes. She also wears a brown beach hat with a red feather on it.

Yves is going to make sure she stays away from that girl as much as possible. The dancer examines the last female sitting on a chair.

The girl is chubby with a round head, short brown hair, brown eyes, has acne, and pale skin. She looks to be five feet and six inches. She is wearing a yellow hoodie, white pants, and yellow with white stripe tennis shoes.

She looks like the perfect first boot Yves thinks in her mind. She gazes at the last male sitting on a chair.

He appears to be a gentle gent. Despite sitting on a chair, he looks tall. He has a warm grin on his face complimented by his sleek brown hair and beautiful gray eyes. He has an acoustic guitar in hand, fitting his almost cowboy look attire.

Now that Yves has examined everyone there is only one thing to do.

"Aaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!" Yves screamed out of terror, surprising everyone in the area. "Where am I? Who are you people? What is this place? How am I here?"

"Yves, cool it!" Chris told the dancer to shut up. "Geez, did you have a nightmare while taking that short nap?"

"Wha, what?" Yves asked confused.

Dana sighs in annoyance. "Looks like we have to repeat ourselves," She told Chris.

"By we you mean me because I am teaching you how to host," Chris told Dana happily with a smirk.

Dana grumbles as she picks up a clipboard and pen from the ground. She must have dropped it when Yves was sleeping.

"Welcome to Cali-Tokyo, the most advanced man-made island you will ever see in your lives," Chris exclaimed happily. "We've…"

"Is that your sassy lost child?" Yves interrupted the host to ask a genuine question.

The other thirteen contestants snicker while Chris and Dana feel offended.

"No Yves, Dana is my co-host," Chris answered, trying to resist poking fun at the girl.

"Trust me, we are not related whatsoever," Dana assured contently.

"Female co-host? I thought you were going to stop after you had Casey," Yves admitted perplexed.

The other thirteen contestants give her weird looks.

"Um Yves, I never co-hosted with Casey before," Chris politely informed.

"Huh?" Yves wondered dumbfounded. "But you…"

"Oh my gosh just shut the **** up already," Exclaimed the short boy with freckles. "Let them do their damn job!"

Yves would like to retort at him, but she does not know what is going on, so she decides to apologize. "Sorry, just wondering what is happening."

"Dang girl, either you hit your head on the way here or you went to an awesome party before arriving," The dude wearing the purple baseball cap told Yves with a wink and smile.

Before Yves can tell him she is taken Sami speaks.

"Guys, can we please let Chris and Dana do their show?" The music theater girl insisted.

"Thank you Sami," Dana expressed gratitude. "We've selected you fourteen because we saw great potential for this specific season of Total Drama in you."

"We know that already just summarize it," Nolan spoke bored.

Dana is about to say something to the buzzkill, but Chris stops her by putting his left hand in front of her mouth.

"One lesson in hosting, don't immediately explode because someone retorts at you," Chris advised. He clears his throat to summarize the details. "New season, you fourteen will compete in the island using giant mechs for a million dollars. This room right here is where the elimination ceremony will be held. Which if you forgot, is the launch pad room."

Yves is desperate to ask more questions. Why is she competing again? Why does Chris not remember co-hosting with Casey? Why are the people she knows contending do not recognize her? Where are Knick and Vinoripmav? As much as she wants to find answers right away, she has to stay calm and be patient. She does not want to annoy everyone right away.

"The losing team after a challenge will come here to vote somebody off the island," Dana informed.

"Speaking of team, you all will be separated into two groups of seven," Chris added. "First one consists of Sami…"

Sami smiles happily and claps her hands with joy.

"Mitchell,"

The American wearing the hockey mask on top of his head slightly shrugs.

"Violette,"

Yves's arch-enemy waves innocently at the camera while putting on an adorable facial expression.

"Buck"

The southern MacGyver tips an imaginary hat to Violette. The sly sweetheart giggles at the gesture.

"Valerie"

The chubby girl sighs, looking like she already wants to give up competing.

"Please don't pick me, please don't pick me," Yves muttered quietly with her eyes close and hands ball into fists.

"Yves"

The dancer stops herself from groaning to prevent any eyes from narrowing her way. This is not a dream. This is a nightmare. She has to be a teammate with Violette, Sami, and Buck? Okay, Buck is not bad because they were teammates in Radiant Redemption and never had that many issues. But Sami and Violette? The former who she betrayed and the latter who got her eliminated in her debut season? Sure, it is a possibility they do not remember for some unexplainable reason at this moment the events, but she knows. This is going to affect her gameplay. Why can she not wake up?

"And Caleb," Chris finished talking.

"Caleb?" Yves wondered perplexed as all seven stand up and form a team circle.

"That's my name," Caleb tranquility told her with a smile.

Yves examines from toe to head and does an L handshape to her chin, thinking. "You can't be Caleb."

Caleb's smile fades as fast as a cheetah running. "What the **** you mean I can't by myself? What kind of ******* retort is that?"

"We're gonna have to overpay the editors for this season," Dana whispered to Chris. The male host nods with a frown.

Yves looks at the short temper kid. "Is just… there's already a Caleb participating and…" She sighs. Way to make an enemy so fast. The one thing you did not want to do. "Forget it, just ignore me."

"Ha, duly noted," Caleb taunted. "I bet the other Caleb you are referring to isn't as great as I am."

"He's much more handsome that's for sure," Yves muttered quietly but that is enough for Caleb to hear.

"I'm not that ugly," Caleb spoke, about to cry.

"It's the first day. Can we please not start any drama?" Sami told Yves and Caleb politely.

"Honey this is Total Drama," Mitch spoke to Sami, not making eye contact towards anyone as his legs shake. Most likely nerves from meeting new people and being in this show. Who would not? "But I have to agree with you."

"Y'all is going to be fine, we can be like a happy family," Buck said contently and hugs Violette and Valerie.

"You're cute," Violette commented to Buck and giggles.

"This affection feels weird," Valerie admitted uncomfortably.

Yves gazes at her teammates then looks at Chris who is fake coughing.

"Moving on," Chris told the cast. "You seven that were mentioned are hereby dubbed the Beta Bots!"

A purple logo appears on the screen with a toaster-headed robot on it.

"The rest of you," Dana said to the seven contestants not in the Beta Bots.

"Daniel"

The dude wearing his purple baseball cap backward cheers.

"Calvin"

"Agent Watterson reporting for duty!" Calvin exclaimed.

"Nolan"

"Yeah," The brilliant buzzkill said deadpanned.

"Margaret"

The intimidating curvy girl stays quiet.

"Brittany"

"I'm glad all of you are my teammates," The blonde, blue eyes hourglass girl happily spoke. Yves notes her tone sounds almost sarcastic.

"Garret"

The cowboy-looking acoustic guitar holder smiles. "A might fine group of people here."

"And the one and only Niu! You seven will be the Delta Droids," Dana finished exclaiming.

A red logo with a much more futuristic-looking robot appears on the screen.

Niu chuckles and blushes sheepishly. "You're too kind," The goal digger thanked Dana.

Chris decides to whisper something into Dana's right ear. "As host, you are not supposed to show bias."

"Yeah, because you didn't show that with Duncan, Owen, or Heather," Dana retorted loudly for everyone to hear.

"What happens now?" Yves asked the two hosts with anticipation.

"Now all of you will head to the center of the dome," Dana answered her contently. "Chris will take you to your mechs so you can get ready for the challenge."

"A challenge already? Radical!" Daniel cheered then proceeds to dance.

"Mechs? Since when I have a mech?" Yves questioned perplexed.

"Oh my gosh you cannot be this dumb," Caleb proclaimed annoyed.

"You described us the mech you want when you signed up," Chris informed the dancer.

Yves blinks at him twice then laughs awkwardly. "Of course, how could I forget?"

Chris, Dana, and her teammates look at her strangely.

"Anyway," Chris stated. "Before we head to the center, it's the confessional time!"

"Which is an outhouse like from previous seasons," Dana added.

Confessional – Valerie – Beta Bots

"A room of solitude that I can express myself?" She sighs with relief. "This feels nice. At least, that's what I think this place is so supposed to do." She sniffs a bit and smells the awful stench. "Bleh!"

Confessional – Calvin – Beta Bots

"While I am here, I got to make sure everything stands up to code and also stop criminals from doing mischievous deeds," The agent exclaimed. His eyes widen as he gasps. "Oh dear, I gave too much intel."

Confessional – Yves – Beta Bots

"You all watching this think I'm crazy, but I swear I am not supposed to be here. I don't even know how I got here in the first place." She takes a deep breath to calm herself. She puts her hands on her skirt. "One moment I was in a plane, or an island, or whatever, and when I woke up, I am competing on another season of Total Drama. I just have to make sure I'm not the first off this island. I have a gut feeling if I want to search for answers then staying is my best option."

End Confessionals

It has been some time since the campers first arrived. Now they are in a massive field with fourteen large circles on it. Each team symbol appears on the screen. Chris presses a button on a remote control he now has in his right hand. This makes the circles on the ground open like hatches. Fourteen ginormous robot mechs ascend, one in each circle.

"These mechs that you see are the ones described in your application. Each has almost everything you asked for with additional features," Chris explained to the fourteen competitors.

"Chris, there was no part in my application about describing a mech," Yves told the host as she starts walking towards the one she believes is hers. The other contestants eagerly run to theirs.

"Okay, your application never stated you are this forgetful. Just go to your mech before I talked to Dana about kicking you off the island," Chris warned our protagonist.

"Right, sorry," Yves apologized quickly then remains quiet upon her walk. That is until she arrived at her mech.

The mech is shaped similarly to a human's body with different colors. Its hands and feet are yellow while its legs are blue. The paint of the body and arms makes the mech look like it is wearing a beige trench coat. The orange head is cube shape with green eyes.

The trench coat instantly reminds Yves of her boyfriend. She is hoping to seek answers after the challenge is over. Who knows what could have happened to Knick.

Buck, who is nearby looking at his silver jaguar shape mech with red eyes notice the trench coat on the dancer's mech.

"Darn tootin', you are a big fan of that Knick guy," Buck told Yves. "You know he has a girlfriend, right?"

"I am his girlfriend," Yves responded coldly. "You have known this for more than three weeks now."

Buck looks at Yves as if she is crazy. The MacGyver turns around. He whistles and walks away back to his mech. Yves keeps staring at her mech. Why, does this feel familiar to her? She has never been to this place called Cali-Tokyo. She read a report that it was a tourist site that shut down. This is so weird.

Chris is shown walking behind a wall of reinforced glass. He has a different remote in his right hand and a microphone now in his left. He sits on a lounge chair then speaks close to his microphone.

"Attention campers, each of you will find an entrance hatch on the bottom left side of your mech. The hatch leads directly to the control room. Once everyone reaches that room and straps into their seat, I'll press a button on my remote. Which will launch you all out of the giant dome and into the city. Since this is the first day Dana and I will go easy on you campers."

"I doubt that," Yves muttered as opens the hatch of her mech.

Chris continues to give instructions. "Today's challenge is quite simple. On top of the tallest building on this island, there is a massive yellow ring. One must retrieve the ring and bring it to the manmade mountain on the city's outskirts, placing it around the peak. The team that wins today's challenge will get immunity and better bunkrooms for the whole season, so I will be careful about not messing up. Everyone ready?"

All the contestants inside the control room of their mech shout "Yes!" except for Yves, still processing what is about to happen. Do they have to fight each other?

Confessional – Yves – Beta Bots

"I've faced pirate robot skeletons before and a conqueror, surely this can't be worse."

End Confessional

"Great!" Chris exclaimed. "Challenge starts… now!"

He presses the button on his remote. The platforms underneath the mechs bounce like springs, launching each mech out into the city. All mechs land in different locations.

Yves in her mech is shown looking around her surroundings. Her goal? Finish the challenge as soon as possible. After a few seconds of observing, she notices a large and tall building in the distance. On the roof is the giant yellow ring.

"Well, that was easy," The dancer told. She looks at the control room to see if any buttons catch her attention. There is a button that has a symbol of her mech being protected by a forcefield. Shield maybe? Ugh, she does not have time for this.

She uses two joysticks in the room to get her mech running at high speeds. She notices other mechs that she passes by, but her speed is too fast to get a good look at them. She can hear the other mechs beginning to follow her with their feet. Yves concludes that her mech is most likely faster than the others. Makes sense, she did tell Knick her favorite superpower is speed. Though, this still does not answer as to why this mech has stuff she likes.

"Don't think just do," Yves told herself, concentrating on the yellow ring at the tall building.

Unfortunately, this is a challenge. The other team will want to win. A large knife swings at her mech's back, causing her to roll around the city road. Thank goodness she did not eat on her trip to Vinolucard Island, or she would have vomited from spinning. Yves adjusts her mech to stand up and slams the machine's feet into the ground. She notices a mech getting closer to her for an attack.

The mech approaching is an all-black robot with two giant knives on its back, along with two jet boosters on its feet and back. Lastly, there is a picture of a dead fish on its forehead.

"Speed won't be enough to get you a win forgetful girl," Margaret's voice is heard from inside the robot as she continues to approach.

Yves realizes that other mechs can have the same speed as hers. How else was Margaret able to reach her? She dancer looks around the control room and presses the button with the forcefield symbol.

Suddenly, her mech is covered in a purple aura. When Margaret goes for another knife slash the aura prevents the attack from doing any damage.

"Huh?" Margaret said dumfounded. She continues to swing her knife at her opponent's mech this time with the knife's edge. Then with the tip. Not a single scratch nor dent. "What kind of tomfoolery are you pulling on me!?" Margaret exclaimed enraged.

Yves realizes why the purple aura is preventing any attack from doing damage. She begins to laugh. Margaret believes she is being ridiculed.

"You tell me what's funny now or when this challenge is over you won't sleep well tonight," Margaret threatened.

Not wanting to cause issues, Yves stops laughing. "Sorry, is just Knick has told me if he ever gets a superpower, it would be an indestructible aura. Guess I wanted to add that as a feature."

"That's completely overpowered," Margaret exclaimed feeling cheated. Her mech copies her movements inside the control room. Why did she not think of that ability for her robot?

"I'm pretty sure there is a drawback," Yves stated. Now knowing a part of what her mech does, she does a judo throw against Margaret, pinning the well-dressed girl onto the city road.

Yves noticed as soon she planned an attack the purple aura turned off. That must be the drawback. It is active as long the mech is in defensive mode, not attack mode.

Another humanoid mech passes by. This robot has a bunch of colors all over it. As if it is some kind of luxury artwork. It also has rollerblades underneath its feet.

"I will handle Margaret," Sami's voice is heard from the colorful mech. "I saw Buck flying with the ring to the mountain. Help him out in case someone from the Delta Droids wants to stop him."

Yves has no time to chat with Sami to see if the theater girl remembers her actions. She just follows the order and runs after her teammate. It is funny, she remembers what a great leader Sami was during Back to the Islands. Seeing her take command fills the dancer's heart with joy.

"I will have this ring on the mountain lickety-split," Buck said as he keeps flying his jaguar mech.

As he approaches the man-made mountain, snow begins to fall.

"Well, this is out of kilter," The southern admitted watching the snow go down faster. "Ain't we in the summer?"

He makes it to the mountain. Before he can land though, the mountain starts to shake. It becomes snowier all of a sudden.

"What in tarnation?" Buck exclaimed shocked.

The mountain starts growing taller as a snowstorm activates around it. Buck uses his mech to fly high, but the altitude is starting to make his mech flinch. Realizing what this meant he flies down to the ground to give the mech some rest.

Yves finally arrives and notices the strange phenomenon happening on the mountain and around it.

"What's wrong?" Yves asked Buck.

"Mountain started growing like corn back in the farm," Buck told her. "Is too dang high for me to fly up there."

Yves gets an idea. If she uses her purple aura shield, that should prevent her mech from suffering high altitudes.

"I have an idea, give me the ring," Yves insisted.

Buck passes the ring to Yves. The dancer presses the aura button then flies up high.

Buck was not lying when the mountain started growing. Luckily it stopped, but the snowstorm is going strong. Once she lands on the highest peak to put down the ring, she notices someone using a tablet. What is a person doing so high up and in a snowstorm?

Examining, she feels like she has seen this person before.

The person using a tablet is female with Caucasian ethnicity and is Canadian. She is five feet and two inches. She weighs one hundred twenty-nine pounds. Her body is slim without much asset-wise. She has her long brown hair kept in a ponytail. Her eye color is green while her skin color is cream. The outfit his young female is wearing is a lime green blouse with white stripes, a turquoise skirt, black sneakers, ankle-high white socks, and a pair of glasses.

Suddenly, the dreams Yves had during her debut in Back to the Islands run through her head. She has seen this girl in her dreams. From being on a cruise ship, a snowy alpine, and in Wawanakwa. What was the girl's name in the dreams again?

"Yvette?" Yves wondered, actually speaking too loudly.

This must be the female's name since her attention has been caught. Yvette turns around and sees the mech.

"Yves?" Yvette asked wondering if the shadow butterfly is inside the mech.

Author's Note: Suprised? Maybe, who knows. Anyway, I did my best to make sure the writing and dialogue are different from TDMM but also have that similar feel. Hope you all who are reading this enjoy this chapter. Updates will not be consistent as my other story Carnival Calamity, but once TDCC is over the chapters here might go by faster. Take care everyone!
