Vin and the Shadow Dancer Chapter Seven: More to Tell

Inside the cave hideout, Yves puts the duffle bag she used to steal food from the cafeteria on the ground.

"That is no way to treat a king," Vinoripmav told the dancer as he gets out from his throne. "I'm not some animal that takes food off the ground. Though I am hungry enough to do it."

"You're hiding more, aren't you?" Yves told the vampire as she crossed her arms, obtaining a cold expression. "Want to know who I found today during the challenge?"

"Is it that important?" Vin said bored as he takes the duffle bag and opens it a bit. He sticks his right hand into the bag and grabs an apple.

"Yes, because the person I saw today was Henry," Yves answered seriously.

"The one you told me that wanted to kill Buck and teamed up with Crowstillo?" Vin wondered before he eats his apple. He said the name Crowstillo a bit bitterly.

"Exactly, and that's not all. Yesterday I saw Yvette. Someone that is not from our universe yet happens to be here when I only saw her in dreams," Yves talked about her other encounter.

"You don't know that," Vin said calmly as he grabs strawberries from the duffle bag to eat them. "That Yvette could happen to be from your universe. Just did not compete on the show."

"Well, geez, that can't be right because Yvette told me she's from another world," Yves snarked.

Vin stops eating and gets up close to Yves. "Do not disrespect me with that tone," the vampire told threatening and imposing.

"Or what? You need me alive, don't you? That's how we're going to fix this mess because I'm pretty sure if I don't get back to my world this whole multiverse stuff is going to collapse," Yves responded, not intimated by the vampire at all.

Vin turns around and continues to eat his red food. "Yes, we both need to stay alive."

"Good, now, why is Yvette and Henry here? I have no clue, but something tells me you do," Yves stated, done with her arms crossed. She goes to look at the red orb on top of the pile of books.

"Do not even think about touching the orb," Vin warned before gobbling down gelatin. "Is unstable enough as it is. Neither of us wants to go hopping through dimensions. Then we will never get back home."

Yves turns around to look at the vampire. "How's your injury?"

"Practically the same as before," Vin answered as he drops the duffle bag full of food gently. Well, more like almost empty. He opens his cape to reveal the veins outside his body continuing to pound.

Yves almost pukes again on sight but forces it back. "Cover that up." Vin does as instruct by the dancer.

"There has to be a better way to get that wound healed," Yves thought to herself. "How did you get that injury anyway?"

"When one messes up a spell this is the consequence. There are much smaller than this, but of course, you were asking a lot just like any typical human would do," Vin said while insulting.

"Wow, okay, I get it. You hate humans," Yves stated.

"I don't hate humans," Vin said as he bends down to scarf on the remaining food available. "If I hated them, I would not have made a deal with you now would I? I just find your kind disgusting when it comes to destruction to obtain power," He sees the raw meat Yves put in the bag. He sniffs it and puts it back inside. Then he closes the zipper of the bag. "I am not a werewolf."

"Oh please, you're a vampire. You're telling me you never went on a destruction spree?" Yves wondered.

"Not by one's own intention," Vin answered, keeping a poker face.

Yves decides to drop the subject and resumes a previous topic. "There has to be a faster way for you to heal besides the magic you have." She looks at the duffle bag she brought. "Will that food give you enough strength to make things faster?"

"Child, I'm only eating what you bring me once a day," Vin stated as he sits back on his wooden throne. "At this rate, it will still be three weeks."

Yves cannot wait three weeks. If Yvette and Henry are out there, surely more people she knows will come. Plus, she has a funny feeling the rest will not be friendly. She looks around the cave and gets an idea thanks to the cyan crystals glowing brightly.

"What if there's a way you can be satisfied without me bringing food to you? You did say you can eat and drink anything red, correct?" Yves told Vin as she breaks a piece of a crystal near her to use as a light source.

"Are you offering me your blood? While that will certainly increase my ability to heal faster, you definitely need it," Vin said wondering what the dancer is implying.

"No, I'm not talking about my blood," Yves exclaimed horrified. She regains a calm exposure. "I'm talking about these crystals. On Crowstillo Island, there are four different kinds of crystals. Cyan, yellow, blue, and red. Maybe, there's a chance here underground an area full of red crystals for you to enjoy."

"I will not be consuming anything that has to deal with that name," Vin stated, referring to Crowstillo.

"The faster we find those. The faster you heal so you can fix the orb and we can get out of here," Yves told the vampire.

"How do we know that those crystals will give me a boost?" Vin asked.

"We don't. We just need to hope it will turn out right," Yves simply answered.

"And you are expecting me to use my magic to create tunnels and a crown," Vin realized the plan.

"Precisely," Yves confirmed, giving off a happy smirk.

Vin chuckles. "Very well, I should let you have this chance to prove me wrong." He gets up from his throne and approaches the dancer. "Which spot should I start making the path?"

Yves observes the cave then points at a spot where many cyan crystals are at. "There, and don't worry about giving me light. I got my glowing crystal right here in my hand." She shakes the crystal a bit.

"Alright, stay by my side," Vin advised. He stands to the spot Yves pointed at. The vampire does a circle motion with his left hand. Yellow magic chains appear. Once the chains fully become a circle a glass yellow-like mirror is formed.

Vin's next move is to use his right hand to push the chain mirror. The force of his pushing rapidly makes the mirror chain a tunnel. He raises his left hand to make the chains hold onto the dirt that is about to fall. Lastly, after providing a long distance of walking Vin creates a wooden mine structure inside the tunnel with a clap of his hands. This prevents the dirt from falling down.

"You can do this when you have an injury, yet you can't fix the orb?" Yves wondered.

"The orb is far more power than just simply popping objects out of thin air," Vin told the dancer. The two walk down to the newly built tunnel. "It can send people to other worlds and reconstruct the past. It takes a lot of my strength and magic to fix that crack. Plus, the orb has only cracked once before in my care, and it was not as big as this one."

"Great," Yves muttered sarcastically. She looks to the tunnel wall to her right and stops. "Here, go make another here."

"Do you have any idea how to reach those red crystals?" Vin asked, realizing the two can be searching all for nothing.

"No, but considering we found two of the four crystals that are from Crowstillo Island, we have a solid lead," Yves told the vampire. She points to the ground. Small blue crystals are shown glowing.

Sure, Yves has no idea why Crowstillo crystals and a cave for that matter are under a supposedly artificial island, but that is not her priority right now.

Vin uses the same magic spell to create the second tunnel. This new path has blue crystals all over. As the two continue to search for the red crystals, Yves decides to ask a question.

"Can you tell me now why Henry and Yvette are here, or you have no clue?"

Vin ponders his thoughts. "Considering you wanted to rewrite the past event of you betraying Sami, is possible that since the spell didn't work the orb sent all your biggest enemies to this location instead of erasing it."

"That… is not good news," Yves said, realizing how big the consequences of her actions are. "But that still doesn't explain the Henry that attacked. The Henry in our world is in jail. This one still had his robotic suit." She notices some yellow crystals nearby.

"Child, we are stuck in another dimension. You shouldn't be surprised when others from different worlds come here considering how we messed up the multiverse. Luckily, the effects seem only to take place regarding yourself," Vin explained.

Vin notices the dancer looking at the yellow crystals. He gets near her and creates a third tunnel with his technique.

"The orb brought that Henry to make up for the one that cannot perform the event you told me," Vin said as the two travelers walk into the path with yellow crystals.

"Okay, I can get that. But what about Yvette?" Yves wondered.

"My guess is that since she is a common enemy to you in other worlds the orb brought one here," Vin answered. "Try not to think about all this too much. One can easily get a headache."

"I guess the orb also gave this one knowledge of our encounters to seek a stronger revenge on me," Yves theorized.

"Magic and the concept of the multiverse can be hard to understand," Vin stated. "Even I with centuries of experience still have trouble comprehending some things."

"You have traveled dimensions before?" Yves asked.

"Yes," Vin simply answered. "My last trip was at this Halloween party where I met this talking bear that likes honey. That was a swell night."

The two travelers stop talking as soon as they see small red crystals in front of a wall. Yves smirks as Vin performs his magic.

Finished, the two enter the path full of red crystals stuck on the ground and walls.

"Jackpot," Yves said happily.

Vin quickly grabs a red crystal in the ground and uses his fang to suck the redness out of the crystal. The crystal is now transparent.

"Now this, is divine," Vin declared smiling.

"And there's plenty of them here," Yves said. "Glad I can make your stay better."

Vin smirks at the dancer. "Someone is cheeky."

"Got to try and make myself happy with all that is happening," Yves stated. She yawns. "And I'm officially getting tired. Thank goodness Dana and Chris gave me and the others a day off for what happened today."

"Shall I escort you to your bedroom?" Vin said after sipping the redness out of another crystal.

"Yeah," Yves confirmed. "We'll continue talking tomorrow night."

Vin transforms into a swarm of bats and takes Yves to her bedroom. During the ride, the dancer reflects on what happened throughout the day. Enemies she made during her time in Total Drama are appearing to attack her from different worlds thanks to the shattered orb. She smiles as she looks at the stars in the sky. Yvette and Henry are dangerous, but the rest of her enemies do not have gadgets to back up being threats.

That is until she remembers a certain mutant former friend.
