Dreaming Through Regret
Chapter 3 - No One Has To Know What We Do
Annie drowsed awake the next morning and found herself alone in the bed. Worried at first she sat up and swung her head around looking for Eyal. Finally she heard the low sound of typing coming from the living area outside the bedroom. Relieved at the sound she laid back down on the bed, thankful that she did not have to report into the office that morning given the chaotic night she'd had. Knowing that Eyal had not left, she allowed herself to doze off and on for the next hour or so until Eyal made his way back into the bedroom.
Eyal had woken early as was his habit and had made his way, quite reluctantly, to check in with Mossad. Frustrated with the limitation of movement it caused, he removed the sling and tested his shoulder. There was some pain, but nothing he couldn't ignore. The fallout from his actions seemed minimal and would not be any worse than he might have experienced if he had been shot on an official op and required recovery time. He was not looking forward to the many weeks being behind a desk though, he was not a jobnik. After finishing his after op paperwork, he closed his computer and headed back to the bedroom and Annie.
Eyal climbed back into bed with Annie wanting to spend as much time with her as he could before his flight back to Israel left later that afternoon. Annie felt the bed shift under her as she dozed, she rolled over and resettled into Eyal's side. Eyal drew her closer to him with his good arm and dropped a kiss on her head.
"Good Morning" Eyal greeted Annie.
"Mmmm, morning" replied Annie as she woke more fully from her doze.
Annie pulled herself up to kiss Eyal firmly on his lips. Using her hands to hold her weight off of Eyal's shoulder, she swung her leg over to straddle his waist. Eyal's hands settled on Annie's hips and slid under the t-shirt she was wearing to caress the sensitive skin there. After a few moments, Eyal sat up, and Annie pulled off his shirt, careful of his gunshot wound. Her hands trailed up and down his chest, reveling in the definition of his abs and shoulders. Annie's kisses drifted away from his lips and onto his throat, pausing to catch his earlobe between her teeth. Eyal, tired of the slow pace, flipped Annie onto her back, her head cradled in his left hand and his weight on his right elbow. He knelt between her legs and shifted focus onto her rather than himself. He tenderly dragged his lips along the long length of her neck, pausing to nibble and lick along the way. Eyal was obstructed eventually by the neckline of his loaned t-shirt.
"This is coming off now, yakiri" Eyal stated as he leaned back onto his knees. He grabbed the hem of the shirt and with his right hand and slowly peeled it up and over Annie's head. He lowered his head towards her, feeling the swell of her breasts against the planes of his chest, and captured her lips with his in a searing kiss. Annie's hands tangled themselves in his dark hair and held him close. Separated now only by his low slung lounge pants and her lacy underwear, Eyal's desire for Annie led him to remove their remaining clothing and he was once again taken by Annie's beauty.
'Y'fehfeh" Eyal murmured as he resettled himself over Annie.
Annie let her eyes connect with Eyal's again at his statement, a blush rising over her cheeks. She could only see truth reflected in them and that overwhelmed her. She broke her gaze away from his, and in doing so caught sight of his wounded shoulder. Realizing that he would only hurt himself more by remaining above her, she quickly flipped them over so that he was resting on the bed as she hovered above him. Though she missed the feeling of being surrounded by him and the sense of safety it created, she enjoyed the feeling of control this position gave her. She ground her hips down into his and felt the hardness of his erection rub her core. Eyal groaned in response and his hands flew to her hips. He steadily helped guide her, filling her, feeling her, until their hips connected. He couldn't stand not having her in his arms, so he sat up and gathered her close as they found their rhythm. Annie's fingernails scratched down his back as she ascended to her peak, senses filled with Eyal.
Eyal's softly murmured endearments, mostly said in Hebrew, came in between heated kisses to her lips and neck. He felt her motions become more erratic as she rode him closer to her completion, and his hands shifted from her hips to her shoulders. Despite the ache in his shoulder and the feel of the stitches pulling slightly, he knew that he wanted to be above her, watching, as she fell into bliss. Annie did not fight the change in position, she wouldn't be able to push the man above her onto his back if he did not want it, and he certainly didn't look like he wanted it. Instead, she wrapped her legs around his middle and lifted her hips to meet him thrust for thrust until she exploded into her orgasm around him. Eyal let the feel of her clenching tightly around him and the sound of his name rolling off her lips drive him over the edge into his own completion.
Eyal dropped to the bed, rolling slightly onto his right shoulder so he did not land on top of Annie, then pulled her closer to him. Annie let herself be wrapped in his arms, head on his chest, as she caught her breath.
"Wow" she said breathily, "that was amazing."
"Indeed it was Neshama"
Annie could sense more than see the grin on his face, probably because it matched the one on her own. She glanced up at him and dropped a kiss on his chest.
After a few minutes Annie asks "When is your flight?"
"This evening at 5."
"This is going to be the hard part about this relationship, isn't it. Only seeing each other by chance, not truly knowing when that may be." Annie spoke quietly, realizing that this relationship would be one that required true dedication to and absolute trust in each other.
Eyal's hands traced up and down her back as he pieced together his response. "That is true Neshama. But I believe that the times we do see each other will be able to make up for the times we are apart."
"Will we be able to communicate in any way with each other?" Annie asked, turning her head to look at Eyal, eyes reflecting her reluctance to part ways.
"We will find a way, I promise you that. Possibly encrypted phones that we only use to talk to each other. I will come up with something and get it to you as quickly as I can. I don't care to be parted from you either." Eyal caught her lips with his, trying to convey how much he didn't want to walk away from her that day.
"Establishing our own communication protocols will help too," Eyal continued, "Neither agency can know that our relationship has become more than professional. They'd never allow it to continue."
"No one has to know what we do Eyal. I'm beyond willing to break all the rules for this, I don't want to be without you." Annie responded, vehemently agreeing with Eyal's statement.
"I may have another way to make the separation less painful, yakiri. I have a DC apartment, a place not even Mossad knows about. I'll leave the address with you and send a key when I send our means of communication."
"You'd let me into your safe house?"
"I trust you Neshama. At least that way you can feel like you are with me, surrounded by my things. A place you can go to let down the mask you'll have to wear to hide the feelings you so freely show."
"An apartment, even one filled with your things, can't replace you."
"I'll come to DC as frequently as I possibly can. I typically hole up in London between missions, but I can just as easily hole up here in DC. You can also come see me in London, get away from both our agencies and just be together, with no one there to tail us."
"Okay, Eyal. We will make this work, I'll do whatever is needed to make this relationship work."
After another lingering round of loving each other in the king size bed, Annie extricated herself to go shower, throwing a smile over her shoulder at Eyal's suggestion of joining her. Annie got dressed in the black dress she had worn the night before while Eyal showered quickly. After Eyal stepped out of the shower she helped him put bandages over his wound and then helped him button his dress shirt.
They checked out of the hotel and headed to Annie's apartment safe house in Eyal's rental car. Annie wanted to change out of her dressy clothes and into a clean, more comfortable outfit before they went to get lunch.
"I thought you lived with your sister?" Eyal asked confused about where they were.
"I did. Then I read her in and she didn't take it well in the least. Welcome to my safe house turned home." Annie replied, regret tingeing her voice.
"Your safe house?"
"I trust you, Eyal. You are sharing your safe house with me and I'm sharing mine with you." Annie said with a smile on her face. "Lunch? I know a great cafe down the street."
Eyal nodded at her, still slightly taken aback, though also pleased, by her sharing the location of her safe house with him. Before leaving he dropped an envelope on her kitchen counter that included the address of his apartment in DC. He took her hand and they left her apartment behind them to enjoy a last meal before heading to the Airport.
Annie drove Eyal to Dulles airport to catch his flight. She surprised them both by parking in the airport parking garage rather than dropping him off at departures. They exited her little red VW and Annie wrapped her arm around his injured arm as he was carrying his bag with the other. They walked to the TSA lines and before separating for who knows how long, Eyal pulled her close for another kiss and a whispered promise.
"Until next time Neshama."
