Happy Halloween!

Sorry for the late post, my goal is to always try and post on Fridays, but time got away from me yesterday. I hope you enjoy more of Belladonna's story!

In this chapter the song 'A Little Wicked' by Valerie Broussard is featured. The words are changed a little to fit the story, but the original song belongs to her.

Evie was silent.

Thankfully, no one was coming in the bathroom yet, so we were left on the floor. I was still clutching onto Evie like she would disappear at any moment. Is that even possible? The shaking and ringing had at least calmed down.

Evie knew I wasn't an orphan like I so often proclaimed. She even knew that I knew the identity of my parents, but respected that I wasn't ready to tell anyone yet. Not even her.

"Are you sure?" she whispered after a few minutes. A harsh laugh left my body.

"He flat out said who his parents were Evs. It's him. I didn't even know-" I stopped myself when I felt the emotions bubbling up inside. We were still too open, I couldn't let myself go yet.

"We'll take it one step at a time." she comforted, stroking my head. I took deep breaths, inhaling her scent to calm me down more.

"I like your perfume" I murmured causing Evie to giggle. She smelt like...vanilla...and cinnamon. She lifted my head up and placed a soft comforting kiss on my lips.

"Let's fix your makeup ok? Then go out and be our wicked selves" she suggested, giving a little smirk to match her statement. I kissed her again as an agreement.

This was one of the reasons why we worked so well together. We both didn't push the other til we knew they were willing and ready.

She got me off the floor and quickly whipped out makeup remover from her bag. She cleaned off my face, but didn't do the full face she had so carefully crafted this morning over again. She did reapply some gold eyeliner and thick mascara. Then only put on a pretty nude color lipstick and a clear lip gloss that smelled like apples.

"So pretty." she said with a smile. I gave a patent smirk and kissed her once more before we headed out of the bathroom. Head held high. We even held hands as we made our way to lunch.

We came across Mal graffiting one of the lockers in front of the picnic area.

"Nice." I said, making her turn to us. She gave me a look and stepped forward.

"You nearly took out half the people in the hallway with how fast you were going. You ok?" she asked. I gave a nod.

"I am now. We'll talk later ok." I said, motioning my head subtly to the group of popular hero kids that were in hearing distance. Mal pursed her lips but nodded.

"We'll see you later Mal. Ok?" Evie said. Mal nodded again and went back to her art. I knew she wanted to know things now, but it wasn't the time or the place.

Evie and I walked over to one of the picnic tables near where Chad, Audrey, and Ben stood by the lockers. We sat down and, funnily enough, could hear their conversation.

"Look Bennyboo, you're just too trusting. I know your mom fell in love with a big nasty beast. He turned out to be a prince. But with my mom, the evil fairy was just the evil fairy. That girl's mother." Audrey said, pointing to Mal.

"And the others? The Evil Queen's daughter? Her...girlfriend? She's as wicked as she comes, and we don't even know who her parents are." Audrey continued.

My fists clenched and I felt anger inside of me.

"I would think Audrey that you, as the girlfriend to the future King, would know better than to criticize his first proclamation in public." I sneered.

It made the three Royals jump and turn to us. They all looked shocked and Ben looked a bit embarrassed. None of them knew we were so close to them.

Evie placed a hand on top of mine.

"It's ok Belladonna. Like you said before. No tact" Evie said, glaring at Audrey.

"I think you guys are wrong." Ben finally said to his friends. Then he, surprisingly, headed towards Mal. Both Audrey and Chad were not pleased.

Me and Evie were pleased as punch.

"Am I crazy or are they giving off major vibes?" Evie whispered in my ear. I chuckled and leaned into her.

"It's been happening since we got here." I said. Evie laughed and gave a teasing "oooohhhh" before kissing my cheek.

"Can you keep that in private? No one wants to see the two of you freaks like that" Audrey snapped at us.

My blood boiled. Evie knew it too and tried to keep me down but I got up from my seat and stocked over to her. Both Audrey and Chad were cowering. I didn't even notice the whole quad had grown quiet. Ben looked from the lockers in panic. I quickly jumped and climbed on the railing, keeping myself there as the two Royals back into the lockers in fear.

"Last time I checked, Auradon symbolized hope and goodness and love. But from the moment we set foot in this place, you have shown nothing but contempt and bitterness and prejudice against us. And now...now you speak derogatory of mine and Evie's relationship." I growled out.

Audrey protested but I held up a hand, the other holding onto the railing.

"Pretty words and looks don't hide the fact just how ugly you are on the inside Audrey. We may call ourselves 'rotten to the core,' - hell call me wicked if you want, but you...you are rotted" I finished before stalking over to Evie and walking out with her.

I kept walking through the halls, trying to make sure I stopped myself before I walked right back there and tore into Audrey more.

I felt a pull on my arm and before I knew it, Evie had pulled us into the bathroom and spun me into the wall.

"E-" I couldn't even get out a word. She grabbed my face and kissed me. Our lips moved together, my hands burying themselves in her hair. Evie had herself pressed tight against me and had woven her fingers behind my neck. I could tell she was on her tiptoes, so I slouched a little to make up for our height difference. It was hot and heavy, our tongues meeting and making it all the more passionate. We had never kissed like this before and I could tell it affected us both.

"Guys!" a voice said suddenly to the side. Mal?

We pulled away and looked to see a wide-eyed Mal and a blushing Jane staring at us. But Jane's hair was different. It was better.

"Nice hair" I commented, slightly out of breath from the kiss. Evie burst out into a fit of embarrassed giggles, burying her head in my chest. I laughed along with Mal and even Jane gave out a small smile with her stammered thanks.

The bell then rang making us break up what was going on in the bathroom. Evie and I then headed for Chemistry. The tables were broken up into groups of six seats, three on either side of the large tables. Chad was in the front row of one table making me groan internally. Doug though, was at the same table but in the back row of it.

"You wanna see if Doug will let us sit with him?" Evie suggested. I didn't want to sit near Chad, but I would be fine if Doug was there. Hopefully.

"Sure love" I said, letting myself be dragged by Evie further into the room. She came to a stop besides Doug who jumped and looked at us wide-eyed.

"Hi Doug! Can we sit with you?" she asked sweetly.

"Uh yeah sure Evie" Doug stuttered out. Evie gave a bright smile and pulled me along. She sat in the outer chair and I was in the middle between her and Doug.

"How are you today Doug?" I asked politely. He was a very wide-eyed individual.

"I'm good. Has your first day been good?" he asked in return.

"It's been...interesting." I offered.

"Some people's first impressions leave much to be desired." Evie said, throwing her voice towards Chad to make sure he heard it. I snorted under my breath. Doug seemed to get the message she was trying to say.

"Chad?" he said softer. We nodded. The teacher began to lecture but we were all in our own conversation.

"He's the son of Cinderella and Prince Charming. So he's pretty big around here." Doug dished. I knew the information, but Evie went a little wide-eyed at the information.

"Charming? He and Audrey are sure two peas in a pod. Complete opposite of their 'title'" Evie whispered.

"Yeah word travels fast. Sorry that Audrey upset you earlier." Doug apologized. I nodded as a thank you.

"We both know we are an anomaly here. But we hope for better acceptance than that." I explained. I took Evie's hand and began rubbing my thumb against it.

"Since when do we care what people think." Evie teased, rubbing her nose against mine.

"Evie," The teacher said, breaking us from our little moment. We turned to see him looking at us angrily. Chad looked smug.

"Perhaps this is just a review for you. So tell me, what is the average atomic weight of silver?" he singled her out. I didn't hide the glare at him.

"Atomic weight? Not much right? It's an atom?" she tried to joke but the jerk wasn't having any of it and held up a piece of chalk. You gotta be kidding me. Evie sighed before slowly going to the front. She faced completely away from the rest of the class as she took the chalk.

"Let's see. How do I find the average atomic weight of silver?" she asked, like she was talking to herself. But I felt the magic of the mirror start up. I had to hold in a sigh. I don't fault Evie for using it. The teacher was being a dick for putting her on the spot like this. But I knew that she could have answered without the mirror too if she wasn't so nervous.

"That would be 106.905 times .5200 plus 108.905 times .4800, which, Mr. Deley, would give us 107.9 AMU." Evie confidently said as she wrote it out on the board. Doug was furiously doing the math on his own paper too.

Mr. Deley looked like he swallowed a lemon so at least I got some pleasure in that.

"I forget. Always a mistake to underestimate-" "A villain?" Evie interrupted, throwing the chalk at him.

"Don't make it again" she warned before twirling on herself and strutting back to her seat next to me. I leaned into her ear and placed a kiss on her cheek.

"Good job darling. Next time let's try without the mirror ok?" I whispered. She tensed a bit before smiling sheepishly at me and nodded. I took her hand again and pressed a kiss against it as Mr. Deley continued the lesson.

After that came Arithmancy. Jay looked like he might cry from happiness when I walked in, knowing he already had someone who would help him in his weakest subject. It went alright too. The teacher lectured, at just the right pace, and it allowed me to make comments here and there to Jay to help him understand more on the things he was confused on.

Then the last class came which meant Music and my only other class without a VK with me.

And it was with Audrey...and Chad. When I walked in my face soured while some in the room looked scared. I rolled my eyes at them and walked to the back of the seats, virtually by myself. Other people came in that I recognized. Jane. Triton again.

At that moment another girl walked in, wearing bright pastels of pink and blue and yellow with long brown hair. She had a very eager smile on her face. When she saw me sitting down she took a deep breath and very confidently walked forward and sat down next to me.

"Hi there, I'm Lonnie" she greeted, plunking herself in the seat. Others were watching us wide-eyed.

"Hi there," I said, really amused.

"My name's Lonnie. I'm the daughter of Mulan and Shang. And you're probably one of the coolest people I've seen and I just wanted to say hi" she said, speeding up towards the end to hide her nerves.

"Hi Lonnie. It's nice to meet you." I greeted back and, while simple, the girl smiled wider if that was even possible.

The teacher, a woman this time, came in and got everyone's attention, thankfully saving me from more conversation..

"Hello class! I hope you have all prepared today's assignment. Oh hello there!" she explained before spotting me. She looked a tad nervous, but it looked mostly because I was next to Lonnie

"I didn't get any notice about an assignment." I explained, a tad awkward, because everyone was staring at me.

"That's ok dear! In light of Family Day coming up I wanted everyone to prepare a song that was fitted to their parents in stories of their lands in hopes of a showcase. Do you have any songs?" she asked.

"I'm an orphan. But my friends and I wrote songs all the time. Can i sing one of them?" I asked. She seemed hesitant a little, but nodded in the end. "Perfectly fine dear." she replied.

Audrey volunteered herself to go first. She sang "Once Upon A Dream." She was a nice singer and you could tell the song meant a lot to her. Shame her personality.

She got a very large round of applause and milked it for all it was worth. The teacher picked Triton next who sang a very charismatic version of Under the Sea. It is a catchy tune I got to admit.

Other kids sang some of their parents' songs, or songs of the fairytales of their land. Lonnie gave a pretty show stopping rendition of "Reflection" I felt the beginnings of the Magic in the Air spell here and there but it never carried out.

Then it was my turn.

I slowly walked up to the stage and towards the...piano? Only it didn't look too much like the one in the corner. It was digital?

I pressed on a key for it to play a note and it made me jump.

"Everything ok dear?" the teacher asked. I didn't stop staring at it though.

"I've never seen one of these before," I said. I saw buttons on it that read out different tonal qualities. I started remembering the words to the song Mal and I had created once after a round with Uma and her crew. Plus it was a nod to some of Audrey's comments earlier.

It had a haunting quality to it. I remember creating it. Mal was thinking of Uma, while I had Mal's own mother in mind. It was a duet, but I could solo.

A little wicked

That's what they calls me

'Cause that's what I am

That's what I am

This was acapella and I stared at Audrey and Chad the whole time, with a little smirk. The shade of pale they became really impressed me, but I moved on from them, to really start the show. I felt Magic in the Air pull around me. It was heady. Heavy. Begging to be let out.

I held it back.

No one calls you honey, when you're sitting on a throne

No one calls you honey, when you're sitting on a throne

Beware the patient woman, 'cause this much I know

No one calls you honey, when you're sitting on a throne

I continued my song. Sometime I would close my eyes, or gesture to my head as if there really was a crown on it. It was all for show in the song. That's what those aspirations were to me. A show. I would never really want to sit on a throne. But Mal? Maybe.

One of these days a comin', I'm gonna to let that girl drown

There's a dragon in these still waters, lying deep down

To that witch I will bow, at least for now

One of these days a comin', I'm gonna to let it all fall down

In the original song, Mal had sung the first two lines while I sung the second. But I took the opportunity to glance at my classmates. Most of them looked horrified. Lonnie looked...excited?

'Cause I am, I am

A little wicked

I am, yes, I am

Hands red, hands red

Just like you said

I am, a little wicked

I let the beat get louder, the music more intense, yet remained calm in my demeanor. I would swing my head back and forth, my braid flying every which way. For a moment, I wish it was free. I wish it tumbled down everywhere onto the floor. But the damage it would cause...

No one calls you honey, when you're sitting on a throne

I'll be high up in that tower, you'll be down there getting stoned

Beware the patient woman, 'cause this much I know

No one calls you honey when, you're sitting on a throne

I held my hand to the sky when I mentioned the tower, memories of stories flashing in my mind. I brought it down back to play in a moment, still feeling the music and resisting the call of Magic in the Air. I didn't need that to happen right now.

'Cause I am, I am

A little wicked

I am, I am

Hands red, hands red

Just like you said

I am, a little wicked

This was the last point I would play the majority of the music. So I let myself be a teenager for once and jammed on the working piano.

'Cause I am, I am

A little wicked

I am, yes, I am

Hands red, hands red

Just like you said

I am, I am

A little wicked

I was back to acapella. I slowly walked from behind the keyboard and slowly prowled on the stage, connecting with each of the people who had already given me or my friends nasty looks or remarks. This was my message and it would spread through Auradon.

No one messed with my family.

Once I was finished, everyone just kind of stared at me. Most horrified. But the teacher clapped and Lonnie was giving me a standing ovation.

Then the bell finally rang signalling the end of the day. Everyone made a beeline for the door and I went to get my stuff.

"Belladonna that was so amazing! I can't wait to see more of this side of you." Lonnie complimented before we parted ways.

And then I ran into Carlos. Literally. He ran into me and we both went to the ground.

"Hi Carlos" I groaned, getting off the floor.

"Ben wants to train me so I don't suck at tourney. Jay won't come with me. Will you?" he begged. For a boy who didn't like dogs, he sure liked puppy dog eyes.

"Sure Carlos. Let me just find Evie and we will meet you there ok?" I said. He nodded and ran off again.

We needed to get him away from sugar.

I was able to catch Evie at our lockers and explain what Carlos had asked. She agreed to join me and we made our way to the tourney field.

Ben and Carlos were already there and finishing stretching.

"Hi boys!" Evie greeted, practically skipping over. The boys looked over.

"Hi Evie. Hi Belladonna" Ben greeted with a smile.

"Hi Ben." I said back. I liked the boy enough. You could see he wasn't a fake like a lot of the so called hero kids.

"Okay Carlos. We're gonna do some sprints. You ready?" Ben asked. Carlos nodded, looking like he might throw up to be honest.

Ben blew the whistle but not only did that start Carlos, it attracted a dog. Who immediately took after Carlos.

"Sweet!" Ben said, thinking Carlos was just fast.

"Carlos!" I shouted, concerned about him. Evie pushed me and I took off running after our friend. Ben realized what was going on and ran with me.

We found Carlos up a tree and the dog barking at him from below.

"Ben! Bella help me! This thing is a killer! He's gonna chase me down and rip out my throat. This is a vicious rabid pack animal!" Carlos frantically rambled on, pointing down at the small dog. Who quite frankly, looked like the most innocent thing I have ever seen.

"Who told you that?" Ben asked, concerned.

"His mother." I told Ben. Ben picked up the dog which allowed me to get Carlos down from the tree, but it only made him transfer his clinging to me. I wrapped my arms around him just the same to soothe him. He was the youngest out of the five of us, so I saw him as my littlest brother to protect.

"She's a dog expert. Why are you holding him? He's gonna attack you!" Carlos said, concerned for the future King.

"Carlos, you've never actually met a dog have you?" Ben asked. Carlos shook his head.

"Not many animals survived on the island after a while. Especially dogs" I explained to Ben, squeezing Carlos a little in comfort. Ben looked thoughtful for a moment, before holding the dog up more.

"Dude, meet Carlos. Carlos, this is Dude. He's the campus mutt." Ben explained.

Dude, was panting and staring at Carlos quite happily. His tongue was even drooping outside of his mouth.

"He doesn't look like a vicious rabid pack animal." Carlos muttered. And to my shock, slowly pulled away from my arms and to the dog.

The moment he started rubbing his head, the dog's tail wagged fast, even whining to go into Carlos' arms. Which he did. Carlos picked up the dog and cradled him to his chest, calling him a good boy.

It made my chest tight. Carlos didn't have any pets on the island. And to see him cuddling with his greatest fear. It meant this trip was already worth it.

"You guys must have it pretty tough on the Isle, huh?" Ben asked, not hiding the sadness in his voice. You don't know the half of it Ben. Carlos scoffed lightly, very focused on rubbing underneath Dude's chin.

"Let's just say we didn't get a lot of belly rubs." Carlos admitted. I finally took a couple of steps forward and scratched the dog behind his ear. Which made his tail wag even harder.

"Good boy." Ben said, making Carlos and I raise an eyebrow. "I mean you're a good runner. You're really fast." Ben corrected, a light blush on his cheek. I snorted under my breath as Carlos thanked him.

Ben looked over to me after a moment.

"Listen. Me and Belladonna are going to give you guys some space, yeah? You guys get to know each other and just, you know, come find me when you're ready ok?" Ben suggested.

Carlos nodded after a moment.

"You good Carlos?" I asked. He looked over with a shy smile and nodded again. I gave him a smile back and ruffled his hair before walking away with Ben.

"Thanks for that," I said to him after a moment.

"Oh. Yeah no problem. I'm glad Carlos is getting along with Dude." Ben said with a smile. I shook my head and stopped walking, making him too.

"No you don't get it. Cruella...the Isle broke any sanity she had left. Carlos' whole life, she made him terrified of animals, dogs most of all. Whenever he did something bad, she locked him in a closet filled with furs and animal traps. For hours. In the dark." I explained. Ben grew paler at every word.

"You don't realize what your proclamation did for people like us Ben. You gave us a chance. A chance to break from whatever the Isle did to us and a chance to be better." I said, quite passionately. He had to know what he did for me. Even if I was too prideful to relate it specifically for me.

Ben blushed and looked down, bashfully.

"It was the right thing to do." he said.

"It's what a King would do." I added. He looked up and smiled softly, nodding.

"I want to be a good King. For my parents and for all of my people." he said.

"Go with your gut Ben. It's usually right a lot of the time" I offered. He nodded again and we started walking back. Ben looked down again and suddenly frowned.

"Wait, were you running in those?" he asked incredulously. I looked down to the low heeled boots I was wearing and then back to Ben.

"Yeah?" I answered. He looked shocked.

"It's...It's just a low heel. I've run in taller." I explained but that made him all the more shocked.

"That's incredible!" he said, awed. It made me chuckle.

"Sure Ben. Thanks." I said kindly. He smiled back. By the time we made it halfway across the field Evie met up with us, worried for Carlos and demanding answers.

"He's fine," I reassured. "He and the dog are...bonding." I said, not hiding the relief in my tone. Evie was wide-eyed before she broke out in a smile.

"That's amazing," she said. I nodded.

"Oh um Belladonna?" Ben suddenly said making the two of us look over to him.

"You left before Mr. Barker could catch you. We have group projects we are working on in Strategy and Tactics. And he placed you in my group. If it's alright with you, we are meeting tomorrow after school to work on it." he explained.

"Who's in the group?" I asked, suddenly nervous.

"Me, Chad, and Xavier"

I felt like my heart was going to burst out of its chest. Not only would I have to deal with Jerk Charming, but him too? God...my brother too?

My hands tightened around Evie at his last name, but I made sure not to show any reaction in my face. Evie's eyes went wide though and I felt her squeeze me back.

"I'll be there. Now if you will excuse me i have to distract Evie from her homework" I joked, hiding my reaction to my brother's name. Though he didn't know it was my brother.

Ben laughed and said goodbye to us. I pulled Evie along back into the school but she stopped me at the entryway.

"Evie." I said, trying to reign it in. She could sense what was going on in me though. It was bubbling again.

Without a word we made our way back to our room. Mal was, thankfully not there. Evie closed and locked the door.

Then she looked at me. I was on the opposite side of the room, leaning against the wall, trying to hold off what I knew was coming. In the process of going over I had ripped off my jacket and I could feel myself trying to breathe, trying to regain my control over myself. I was nothing without control. But I wasn't emotionless. I just didn't let anyone see much of me. And only Evie saw the side of me when I felt weak and sad. And boy did I feel pretty weak right now.

"Donna." she said, with so much comfort in her voice that I felt like I was shaking.

"Is Xavier...is that your brother?" she asked. I could only nod. I heard her take a breath before she nodded and stepped closer to me.

"I didn't meet him today. What's he like?" she asked.

"Tall. Like me. We have the same nose." I said, short and jilted. My eyes were getting watery and I didn't like it. He was here. I had a brother. Oh my God I had a brother. A brother who didn't know me. A brother who thought I was-

"D sweetie? Who are his parents?" Evie asked, barely louder than a whisper.

It was silent for a moment. But the moment I opened my mouth I couldn't stop the tears from finally coming down.

"Rapunzel. Rapunzel and Flynn Rider" I choked out.

Evie gasped and her hands flew to her mouth.

"Oh my God. You're- Oh my God Donna" she said emotionally before wrapping me in her arms again. And this time I cried. I cried that I had a brother. That I grew up without my brother. And that I had lost everything in one night 18 years ago.

Have a spooky Halloween!
