Chapter 10: Back To The City
It had been an hour since Lynn Sr and the kids got back on the road, when eventually they spotted a big sign coming their way.
"Dad, look!" Lori exclaimed, "That sign says something important."
Lynn Sr took most of his focus off the road and onto the sign that Lori had pointed to. The sign read in big letters "GREAT LAKES CITY UP AHEAD" and Lynn Sr was more than happy to see that sign.
Everyone rejoiced knowing that Lincoln was just closer than they could imagine.
"Great Lakes City, here we come" Lynn Sr said to himself as he pressed on the gas.
It was the next day and Lincoln was, of course, the first one to wake up. As he rose up from his good night sleep, he noticed that Ronnie Anne was not in her bed this time.
"Huh. She might've gone somewhere." Lincoln thought.
As Lincoln did his morning routine, he couldn't help but remember last night. Specifically when him and Ronnie Anne were together. Alone. That was the part that had played in his mind over and over again. He decided on just brushing it off as nothing important and changed into his classic attire.
As Lincoln made his way out the room, he noticed Ronnie Anne sitting on her couch watching TV.
"Gosh, she's so pretty even when she's doing nothing." Lincoln thought to himself.
When Lincoln walked into the kitchen, Ronnie Anne noticed him.
"Hey Linc." She said.
"Hey." Lincoln said tirelessly.
Lincoln slept fine last night, but he found it hard to sleep because the thought that he didn't know if he loved his family rubbed him the wrong way.
He shook off these thoughts and poured himself a bowl of Zombie-Bran. As he was pouring the milk he peered through the living room and noticed the rest of the family wasn't with her.
Lincoln put the milk in the fridge to ask Ronnie Anne a question.
"Hey Ronnie, where's the rest of your family at?"
"Well, when my Mom got back home from work, the rest of the family got home from Canada around that time."
"Ah I see, then where are they now?"
"Down at the Mercado with Bobby and abuelo."
"Got it."
Lincoln brought the bowl full of cereal and sat down next to Ronnie Anne.
"You don't mind if I'm this close right?" Lincoln nervously asked.
"Nah, it's all good . Just don't make a mess with that cereal."
"Haha I won't. Besides, at my house I never made a mess, and when I did I had to clean it up."
"Man, that's rough!"
"Well, you get used to it."
As the two were watching TV, Lincoln couldn't help but noticed that the TV was playing some sort of sports related show that involved two kids that use the sports equipment as weapons and was called something along the lines of "Your Show Is Ready". Lincoln wasn't a big fan of it, but watched since Ronnie Anne liked it.
"You have some weird tastes, y'know that?" Lincoln said."
"Shut up." Ronnie Anne teased. "You're the one who watches Ace Savvy."
"Haha. Okay you got me there, you got me there." Lincoln said, defeated. Holding his hands up in the air to exaggerate himself a little.
"Hey Lincoln, would you mind getting my phone? I need to check the weather and see if it's good enough for me and you to go outside."
"Okay!"
Lincoln ran to the bedroom and pulled out Ronnie Anne's phone from her dresser. He had noticed upon grabbing the phone that there were 2 missed calls from her mom. Lincoln the dashed back to the living room and showed Ronnie Anne the phone.
"Huh? I wonder what my mom wants." Ronnie Anne question.
"This should only take a minute" she said to herself.
"Hello? Yes. Yeah. Okay, fine. Love you too."
"What did she say?" Lincoln asked.
"She needs me to come down to the Mercado. I'll be right back."
"Okay see ya!"
As Ronnie Anne closed the door, Lincoln took this as the opportunity to change the channel and find some Ace Savvy to watch.
Bobby was getting ready to open up the Mercado when all of the sudden he heard a car pull up near.
"Wow. Didn't know we were getting customers already." He said.
He got the keys to the place and unlocked it. But once he looked back up he couldn't believe his eyes.
Lori and the rest of the family came in with excited expressions all over their faces. With Lori being the most excited.
"BOBBY!" Lori exclaimed.
"BABE!" Bobby exclaimed.
They both ran to hug each other for what seemed like an eternity until Bobby broke the hug.
"What are you guys doing here? Especially early in the morning?"
"It's very very urgent." Lori said. "Do you know if Lincoln is here?"
"Lincoln? Oh yeah! He's here."
Everyone shot up when Bobby mentioned that.
"Really?" Lola questioned
"No way!" Luan said.
"OMG!!!" Leni squealed.
"Wait are you serious?" Lori asked.
"Yes I am babe. I saw him last night with Ronnie Anne."
Every sister then turned to look at each other with big smiles on their faces.
"Looks like Linky finally mustered up the courage to ask her out!" Lola said.
"Haha" they all laughed.
"So in that case, where's Ronnie Anne?" Lori asked.
"I dunno, probably with Lincoln-"
"Did you need me?" Ronnie Anne asked Bobby.
"Well I didn't but mom probably did." Bobby replied.
"Ok, oh hey guys."
"Hey Ronnie Anne." They all said with sultry in their voices.
"What's going on?" She asked with confusion in her voice.
"When's the wedding?" Lori asked.
"How about the kiss?" Leni asked.
"Woah woah hold on!" Ronnie Anne said "Lincoln has never done that. Sure we've, maybe sorta kinda flirted but that's it! Nothing more!" Ronnie Anne said while blushing.
"Whatever you say, Mrs. Loud." Luna said, winking.
"Whatever." Ronnie Anne said, eye rolling. "Anyway, why are you guys here?"
"Well, we were wondering if Lincoln was here but we know that he's here now." Lori said.
"Oh yeah I just got finished talking to him. Do you guys need to talk to him?"
"I do." Lynn Sr said with a finger pointed in the air. "I need to make things right."
Lincoln had just wrapped up the second season of the new Ace Savvy show that came out recently.
"Good, but not as good as the first." Lincoln said.
Lincoln turned to his left and noticed that the sink had been filled to the brim with bowls upon bowls upon bowls.
"Whoops!" Lincoln yelled.
When Lincoln watched all of Season 2, he had poured the rest of the cereal in 6 different bowls and emptied both the milk jug and the Zombie-Bran, leaving a big pile of bowls and spoons in the sink.
"Might as well clean it up." Lincoln thought to himself.
But as Lincoln went to head into the kitchen he received a good set of knocks at the front door.
Lincoln wasn't too sure who was at the door but had a feeling Ronnie Anne came back from the Mercado. So, he walked on over to the front door and opened it.
"Dad!?" Lincoln said with shock.
