AN: why hello, hello! As you may all have guessed, our spontaneous heroines have ran into quite a bit of adventure, what adjusting to their new living situations. Haha, as we've learned so far, not all vampires can be as accommodating to their needs. (*looking over at Daniel*) yup! I can only guess what's in store for the girls, but maybe, just maybe... things can change...

Disclaimer: As you all know, I do not own twilight (however I shall reiterate periodically though I know that it wont ever change. sadly...)

Any who, please jump right in! a bit short this chapter, but a somewhat important announcement at the end, so please stay tuned ;)

Serenity's P.O.V:

My brows furrowed as I swiped away the disgusting beads of sweat from my forehead, my arms already shaking in protest from our earlier exercises. For some strange reason, I actually thought that I wouldn't have a problem with our training; to be quite honest I didn't think that it would have been so physically exhausting, let alone time-consuming. I breathed in another wavering breath as I then finished my thousandth suicide lap, with trembling feet barely able to support me any longer, I collapsed onto my hands and rear. To think that this was only part of what my training entailed no thanks to a certain someone. He just had to say something to him, didn't he…? I huffed another breath of cool air that felt like a relaxing balm on my heated face, the air billowing softly against my damp skin. Training with us just wasn't enough for him, instead, Daniel felt the need to pitch it to Demetri that I needed to increase my speed and stamina. To add insult to injury and to my utter shock and absolute horror, Demetri actually agreed with him, the thing was though, they had differing opinions on how to accomplish that.

The longer that they took deciding on how we should've started, the more I began to feel like a Guinee pig. Demetri thought about doing normal running laps before jumping into the basics of blocking and punching; Daniel on the other hand, planned to make my life a living hell. His idea involved good ole' fashioned suicide runs, the kind that coaches seemed to enjoy giving students as a way to build their speed and the kind that were used to test physical endurance. But no, wait, there was more. These were especially modified to vampire standards, which means that the set number of laps was somewhere in the four-digit range with push-ups and crunches to be done in the three-digits mark. Ugh, seriously! Who even has the time and energy for that? 'Maybe the Terminator, if he were a vampire… me though? Not so much.' My sweet and loving Demetri, -may someone bless his heart- decided that the push-ups and crunches were a bit too excessive for his tastes, but maybe Daniel had been onto something with the running portion. Before we'd started, I'd gasped my shock at him as he then patted my shoulder soothingly as he murmured, "Don't worry Serenity, I'll be with you every step of the way." True to his word, Demetri easily kept pace with me as Daniel pushed himself further ahead, my eyes shooting daggers at the both of them as I wished somewhere quietly in my mind for Daniel to trip.

"Are you alright?" Demetri asked me sweetly as he reached a hand out to me, his grip reassuring as he lifted me back onto my jellied-feet. I nodded briefly as I watched Daniel finish another ten laps, his eyes then meeting mine as he came jogging back up to us, his eyes steadily eyeing my posture. He looked like he'd barely broken a sweat as he gave me a once over and then nodded as if he had the answer to some unspoken question. "un-be-lieve-able…!" I muttered ferociously. A worried glint crossed Demetri's eyes as he placed a steadying hand on my shoulder. "I'm okay, I- I just need a moment," I said softly, as I tried to calm his fears. As I watched Demetri's face, I noticed something odd happen from the corner of my eyes. Nearly without any sound, the air around Daniel began to ripple, a soft sizzling hiss and slight pop caught my attention as a shroud of dark oozing mist formed a small circle in front of him. Trying to comprehend what was going on, Daniel calmly reached out a hand into the dark void as he then pulled it back, a bottle of bright crimson liquid wrapped loosely in his fingers as he then reached in with his free arm. This time, as he pulled his fingers back, so did the mist as it disappeared leaving behind a delicate champagne flute in his hands, the sizzling sound being the last thing I heard as I turned to him in shock.

"here, you should probably drink this. You look like you need it," he said casually, as if this was a normal occurrence for him. Demetri's face hardened, "only if it's diluted. I don't want a repeat of the last incident." His voice was oddly flat as if what Daniel had done was natural as well. My mind was still trying to piece things out when suddenly my eyes focused again on the bottle. "what's in there?" I asked into the heated silence. When no one answered, and they continued to stare each other down, I cleared my throat and tried again, my voice a bit demanding as I tried to grab their attention. "what the heck's in there?" Daniel rolled his eyes before replying, "a drink, obviously. Have it, or don't. It's annoying, but I can always put it back." I shook my head, and before I could say anything more, Daniel popped the top off the bottle as a sharp scent of citrus, peppers and tomato hit my nose as well as the slight tinge of alcohol. "I thought you couldn't eat or drink…" I accused, surprising myself with the intensity in my voice. "not normally. Though this is a well-made exception." He replied as he poured the drink in the glass for himself. "let us at least hope that it doesn't impair your fighting abilities," Demetri barked. Daniel brushed Demetri's threats off easily as he went to place the glass down away from us as well as the bottle as he then made his way over to the center of the room. "are you even ready?" he prompted as he waited for us to move….

The memory from a few days ago seemed to stay seared in my mind as I contemplated the new moves that they were teaching me and what it was that Daniel was able to do. Despite his supposed status and the whole ranking system that the Volturi have going on around here, I would have figured Daniel to have at least a darker robe, or at least, that is what I thought as Demetri let out a frustrated breath. "I just cannot see how Aro would approve of him and his requests," he muttered restlessly. I threw him a confused glance as I ask, "what did he do now?" he shook his head, seeming to know that whatever it was that he didn't want to tell me, I was going to soon find out about it, whether he wanted me to or not, especially where Daniel was concerned. "it would seem that Daniel spoke to Aro about your stamina and requested that he trained you further until you did any other physical training. So, he would essentially be using the gym space for that time until he finds you ready to move on," Demetri seemed to groan as he raked his hand through his hair, his frustration very evident. "hey, keep doing that and you'll eventually have premature balding," I said teasingly as I brushed my shoulder against his, trying to bring him out of his despairing mood.

The smile barely reached his eyes as he turned to face me. "how I enjoy your humor," he murmured as he then walked to the wardrobe, the very same wardrobe that hadn't been bursting at its seams a few days prior. In the absence of space that Demetri just occupied, he was able to express to me the situation that Daniel's request seemed to pose. However, as dumb as it sounded, I still felt like I had to ask him what it meant. "Aro asked me to go meet him in a little bit, however for now, it would seem that I won't be able to help it if Daniel were to make any modifications to your training." I knew what he meant, but my eyes widened anyway as he exhaled a heavy sigh. "I should get going. It's never wise to keep them waiting for too long. Things do tend to happen when you do," he remarked as he made his way to the door. "please be careful," I whispered softly, a sinking feeling weighing down heavily into the pit of my stomach as I watched him leave.

Aro's P.O.V:

My world just keeps on growing now doesn't it, my dear sweet sister? I thought to myself reminiscently as I waited for Demetri to enter. Everything appeared to be falling into place and it couldn't have been any better as I thought about adding the Cullen daughters to my collection. It wouldn't be long now before I'd finally have the rest of them too, especially an elusively happy Alice Cullen. I then looked over to the wall where that contraption of a clock nestled just above the door; such an oddity it was to no longer see the dials that indicated the time, instead, broken numbers seemed to look out of its face as it read off the time and the date. 'Digital' is what they called it, however I thought 'unreliable' was more appropriate. Technology seemed to be too fickle these days, it was hard to decide what was best to use as people tried to navigate life through means of ease.

As I waited, I thought back to what sweet Heidi shared with me about our latest evening meal, her thoughts flowing through my mind with such honied zest, it was almost impossible to ignore. It was like her memory had thrown itself in a loop as I relived the experience.

'oh, how they always chatter on and on! "dear, let's take a picture!", "did it come out okay?", "oh, I'm so sorry, I don't understand. Can you repeat that?", "what language is that?", "I don't speak (insert what ever passes for language, here…)" but no matter the barrier in culture, everyone seemed to be the same. They all carried a heart-beat, smelled delicious, and all screamed and reeked of fear before they all fall silent. But then, tonight was different… my ear itched slightly as I led this particular group under and through the old catacombs. " 1.Kikoeta no?" A girl with fair skin and auburn hair whispered as another girl with a light tan and raven locks shook her head. " 2.Iie, nande?" the girl with raven locks replied as I slowed my steps. " 3.Ichibu no hito wa horyo ni sa rete imasu…" My ears were slowly burning. Do they know what's about to happen? They don't look like they do, in fact, they don't look all too panicked as they move closer together. " 4.Masaka! Doko de?" As the second girl with dark midnight hair turned to her friend, I could see from the corner of my eyes, shock clearly swept across her face as she processed everything. The first girl's words were lower now, but aside from me and her friend, I could hear her perfectly fine. " 5.Shibuya-eki chiku ni." She answered, her voice dropping even lower. "6.Tsujo, soko ni ikimasu. Kawai ne…" the second girl replied with a shake of her head. "7.Dayone. Dandan waruku natteru." They both shuddered and seemed to drop the conversation. For some reason, it bugged me. The way they mentioned it, you would think that it was normal city affairs and a case of the average criminal, but from the way they spoke about it, it had to be out of hand. Maybe they just have terrible security, I reasoned. But still, its something worth looking into. I should show Aro though, to be sure.'

A sudden creaking sound of the door registered in my mind as Demetri soon emerged through it, bringing with him an abundance of vigorous youth. Hardly a fraction of my age, and yet already plighted with so many thoughts about love and loyalty. I sighed in my mind, knowing for sure that I was going to have to have Chelsea pay him a quick visit, maybe she will be able to visit the girls as well while she is at it… "my lord, I am sorry to keep you waiting! I believe that you had called for me," Demetri quickly replied. I nodded, gathering my thoughts as I lent my mind to him. "ah, yes, I did. And with good reason Demetri. It is good fortune that you are able to take a break from your training, as I have a feeling that you may accept my request." I acknowledged with a small bow of my head, my hands closing behind me as I walked across my dais. "I believe that it is wise to send someone out to our friends on one of the islands in the Pacific. It would seem that some questions need to be answered regarding certain boundaries, and I can hardly think of a better person to send."

Were it possible, any color that the boy would have had, seemed to drain from his face as he considered my command. It was amusing to know that it could still happen despite the changes that these genes caused our bodies. "Sir, I am honored that you would think of me so, however I am not so sure that I could do such a thing on my own. Given the circumstances, would it not be best to send another member?" His voice was higher than normal, and I smiled as I had almost suspected as much for an answer, yet it was the only way. "I don't see why not. But if you must insist, I will also send Alec and Jane to help you oversee things as well. And Demetri, I do recommend that you take Serenity and Renesmee with you when you go; It would definitely bring a bit more color to their faces to explore the sights of Japan." I warned lightly, my eyes arching softly as I bided him a curt farewell. He nodded solemnly as he turned to leave, his shoulders sagging slightly as if he'd aged before me as he made his way out the door. I sighed, it was a most necessary evil that would bring us both what we desired most.

Alec's P.O.V:

I couldn't bring myself to regret the decision that I had made; when Aro asked me to oversee Demetri's experiment, I didn't think that I would have gotten so involved as I am now. Not only myself, but Jane as well. A bit of life still sparkled behind her eyes as she looked longingly over from her seat in the rec room to the direction of the gym. In the time that we had been gone, a few new guard members popped into our humble abode, giving the area some new life. A few others also returned from decade-long missions as they updated us on the status of the world. Yet it seemed all the newer generations that were turned under thirty-years old, were all gathered around and enjoying their time off, seeing as how we were all barred from the training commons. As I mused, Demetri appeared from the door as he made his way towards us.

"huh, just the person that I was thinking about…" I chuckled lowly as I rose from my seat. "how are things going with the training?" I asked him as my eyes wandered over to Renesmee, her smile almost captivating me as she laughed at something that Caia said. Demetri shared a grave smile as he gave a short bark. "as much as they ever could in his hands, though I don't expect Serenity to be running for too much longer." He admitted as I heard the quiet distain in his voice. It was odd to hear him say such with as much anger as he was burying, it almost reminded me of when he mentioned that human boy that had Serenity captivated. Had I not known any better, I would assume that he ran into him, but I knew that it would be impossible. The only explanation for his mood seemed to be this new guard member that Jane spoke of a few days ago as she mentioned to me his involvement in their training. I wondered for a moment, just what it was that seemed to vex those around this new member, when it seemed like Aro enjoyed his company.

"that bad, huh?" I answered as I rose my eyebrows. He wrinkled his nose at me, his expression turning sour as he replied. "you would think that it would be bad enough working with him, but just when I thought I would catch a break, something would come up at that moment." His words had me puzzled. "I'm… sorry…?" I asked as I prompted him to explain. "there's something that Aro wanted us to check out for him. He also wants us to take Jane and the girls with us," he continued. Finally, I saw why he was worried. That was a first, and almost out of character for our leader, but he must have had his reasons; its not like him not to anyway. "when do we leave?" I asked as I sat back down. "not long… but it would seem that there is no avoiding being in the air." I could see his aversion shine through his gaze at the thought. "east or west?" it was better to be direct given our orders. "it would seem that we're to go east. I would advise packing light, same goes for Jane." He said as he made his way to go. "I have a feeling that I'll find Serenity still in the gym area, at least I can still rescue her from that." With those words Demetri smiled and left, my thoughts turning at the fun that we were about to have.

AN: Thankyou everyone for still reading and putting up with my loss of time. As for this chapter, it was a bit of a work in progress and had my wheels turning. I am a bit excited, hopeful, and also… cringing… Haha, to be quite honest, I have a bit of knowledge on the Japanese language, (basic word structure, a few phrases, and basic grammar- essentially… I'm a beginner) but not too much as I am still learning, so please forgive my awful translations. Tried to work with google translate, but not sure how correct I am in its translation and meanings, so below, I have what I'd tried to translate. Hopefully fanfiction keeps my annotations, if not, the conversation is in its proper order.

1. "Did you hear?"

2. "No, what?"

3. "Some people are being taken…"

4. "No way! Where at?"

5. "In the Shibuya station area"

6. "I usually go there. How scary…"

7. "I know… it's getting worse, isn't it?"

*Also, I would appreciate any input from native speakers or any tips for future reference*
