"You're going to the winter formal, right?" Lydia asked me over the phone. I was currently sprawled all over my bed facetiming Lydia while I plucked my brows.
"You know I never turn down a party. Ouch!"
"You do know you can't get super drunk, right?" Lydia said, tilting her head to the side, giving me a side eye in the camera.
"Don't tell me what I can't do. A party is a party."
Lydia started to laugh. "Whatever. Did you have a dress?"
"Me and my sister are going shopping, are you not coming?"
Lydia scoffed. I watched her set the phone up in front of her so she could video chat without having to hold it. "I'm not doing anything with Allison… not after she's the reason that Jackson and I broke up."
"You guys have to talk sometime." I paused. "I don't think she's the reason; Jackson has been an asshole."
She didn't say anything for a second and I stopped what I was doing to watch her facial expressions. She was staring off into space and then finally snapped back into reality. "I don't want to talk to her, that is why I have you."
"I'm pretty sure she's talking to Scott again- I don't think she wants Jackson."
"No! I am not talking to her-"
"To who?" Allison said as she casually strolled into my room. Lydia's eyes got wide from behind the phone. I couldn't help but laugh. Allison walked into view and gave her own fake smile, waving at Lydia. Lydia returned the smile but didn't wave. They were so petty and both whores from what I understand because clearly they both did something with the others ex.
"Can I steal you for a second?" Allison asked as she turned to me and looked towards the phone with her back turned.
I sighed and stopped plucking on eyebrows to grab the phone that was perched up on my vanity. "Lydia, I'll text you." I hung up after she hummed back her response. Now to deal with Allison. "What is it?"
"Can I borrow a bow?" She said very timidly. Her hands were behind her back, which I didn't notice at first because of how into my face I was.
"For?"
"I'm actually not sure.." she trailed. Slowly, Allison turned on her heel and tiptoed to my bedrom door, swinging it shut. "Look."
Finally she pulled her hands from behind her and pulled apart her fingers to reveal the fat metal arrow head she was holding on to. I had never seen anything like it. "Where did you get this?"
"Well, I was looking for my necklace in the car and Kate and dad came in the house talking about them. She left them on the table. And there was one in the garbage that looked like it had exploded."
"What?" I said rhetorically. "If anyone's shooting that thing, it's me."
"I found it!"
"You're asking me for a bow," I pointed out, rolling my neck at her.
"I really only need arrows for my old bow," she said matter of factly, trying to play the hell out of me.
"It's not my fault you let Jackson distract you when you went to get some…" I teased, letting the pitch of my voice rise as I sung out the statement.
"I'm going to stop telling you stuff; you're always using it against me."
I tapped the side of my forhead, "You see why I keep my mouth shut?"
My twin rolled her eyes hard, something I would do before her. She has clearly been coming around me too much. Then, a thought popped into my head. "How about you can shoot if you apologize to Lydia so she can come shopping with us?"
"Why do you care?" she breathed out, raising a brow at me.
"Because when you guys are not cool, you both want to be around me more. I'm the introvert here!" I exclaimed, adding a little hand throw in there for extra puncutuation.
"Fine. Deal."
That is how I found myself the next day trekking through the woods with Allison and Lydia, tension so thick you could saw right through it. Surprisingly, Lydia got out of the car with us, but had noticed recently she refuses to sit in the car whenever someone left her; it was PTSD or something.
For the thousandth time she complained, "I still can't believe I let you take me out here before the mall."
I snorted in return. "Since when was the last time you had a decent excersise?"
She didn't say anything but instead crossed her arms with force, like a kid throwing a tantrum. Niether I or Allison really cared so she didn't even get a second glance.
FInally, Allison announced, "Oh, Lydia, I have to ask if you're okay with something before I forget. Jackson asked me to the winter formal." You could hear the smugness laced all throughout Allison's voice. Once I got over how fucked up it was for them to be at eachothers boyfriends, I could almost be proud of my sister.
"Did he?" Lydia asked, her voice cracking in the process. Oh? Do I finally get the pleasure of watching the queen bitch fumble?
I could see Allison's smirk out of the corner of my eye as she spoke in her little 'sarcastic' tone, "Just as friends but, I just wanted to make sure you're okay with it first."
I heard Lydia make some kind of breathy noise from behind us but I didn't glance back because I could barely hide my own smirk. She repeated, "Just as friends!"
"Yeah, well it's not like I would take him into coaches office during lacrosse practice and make out with him." That was the zinger.
"A-about that," Lydia stammered out, speeding up her walk so she was standing on the other side of Allison. I looked over to her frazzzled face as her strawberry blonde hair swung violently while she tried to keep pace with two people who were way taller than her.
"I'm already over it," Allison said with a little smile playing on her lips.
I was shocked- I mean I was shocked when she told me and was able to hold her composure. I was pissed at Lydia for her- and Scott. I actually wanted to not talk to either of them ever again but my twin insisted on letting it go because she could see how she drove them to do that. I mean, I guess there's only room for one asshole Argent so at least I'm glad she could see the error in her ways.
"Are you sure?" Lydia asked with her voice heightened. Lydia's way of conveying emotion behind that poker face was through her voice. She wasn't apologetic, she was nervous. I would be to if I was a backstabbing friend in a town riddled with murders walking alone in the woods with two twin sistes, one of whom was carrying a bow and arrow.
The three of us reached a clearing and I stuck my arm out to stop them from walking before Allison could respond. She looked over to me with a flash of panic in her eyes. I gave her some reasurance by saying, "This is a good spot."
She softened her face and nodded, "Yeah, okay." Then, she dropped down to unpack the bag on her back. Allison still knew what she was doing when it came to archery, and I appreciated how swiftly yet delicately she was able to string the bow I had given her, and how she removed the previous arrowhead to place our mystery arrow on to the stick. Some sports and hobbies just had to be admired. When she was done she stood again and nodded her head to herself. We shared a look as if to prepare ourselved and again she whispered, "okay."
"What's going on?" Lydia asked, back to her lower, normal tone.
"We're about to find out," Allison said, pulling the loaded bow up to eye level and next to the side of her face. Aftet inhaling a deep breath and holding it in so she could aim, she pulled the string back and let the arrow fly.
In seconds it had connected with a try a few feet down the clearing we were standing in, and erupted into sparks that turned into small flames. I couldn't draw my eyes from the arrow- why the hell would my dad even need those? And the way he acted? There was no way Kate would leave that out if not purposely.
"What was that?!" Lydia yelled. There she goes, raising her voice way too many octaves for no reason once again,
'"I dont know," Allison murmered. "Jos?"
"Dont ask me," I exclaimed, adding a shoulder shrug for good measure. I felt like Allison and I were on the same playing field with how much we knew. The real question was what we would do when either of us found out what was really going on.
Then, Allison's head snapped up and she moved her gaze to something in between the trees. There was something about her stance that I had never seen in her that almost reminded me of… me. "Stay here," she said to Lydia and I.
"Why?" I was quick to ask, pulling my from out of her hands.
"I heard something. It's probably nothing but..I'm going to go see."
In her nervous, frantic tone Lydia asked, "but what if that nothing is something and that something is dangerous."
I spun to look at her. "Do you know who you're stnding next too?!"
Allison sneaks off towards whatever noise she heard and there is a tense silence between Lydia and I as we wait for her return. I was ready to spring into action in case something would happen. Standing there felt like forever and I didn't even hear or see anything once she dissapeared behind a couple trees.
Until there was a loud thump, no doubt someone falling to the ground followed by a shriek from my sister. My feet were moving before I even thought about it, and I sprinted straight to where I saw Allison dissapear in second. The scene I found was confusing to say the least; Allison leaning over Scott who was layed out on the ground. I cocked my head as my twin and I made eye contact.
She was extremely flustered as she explained while playing with her fingers, "Kate gave me a taser and I...tased him."
I looked between the two of them, I only could sigh in response. "You two have a very interesting relationship."
They both laughed, even though I was extremely serious. I decided to leave them to their odd couplness and check backup on Lydia who would need my help more than Allison ever would.
Lydia was standing there with her arms wrapped her around herself; she looked extremely relieved when she saw me- even letting out this deep breath that she was holding. "Wheres Allison?!"
"Talking to Scott," I answered, and began to pack up the bow and arrow stuff back into the sheath it was in. I was debating even going to the mall now- I wondered what other lethal arrow heads my father had lying around. But then again Lydia would never let me abandon the mall idea now that I dragged her to the woods.
"You ready?" She asked once Allison walked over to us. She didn't look happy but I did notice the necklace she had lost hanging around her neck.
"Where did you get that?" I pointed to it and she immediately smiled to herself, nodding her head as she spoke.
"Thank God Scott found it during school. I couldn't find it anywhere, I thought it had been stolen."
Her words reminded me of one of the only times I've ever interacted with Scott without my sister around which coincidentally happened to be when he asked me to let him borrow her necklace. And now he found it?
Alarms were going off in my head as we started to walk towards Allison's car, but I kept quiet as usual. For some reason, though, I couldn't get my mind off Scott. He was so weird and just coincidental..which was crazy for me because I was not one to really believe in coincidences.
Dress shopping was actually really unsucessful- Lydia, Allison, and I all clearly have very diiferent styles and taste to be trying to shop together for such an important event. I'd proably go by myself if anything. Plus, Allison wouldn't stop talking about Scott- she wanted to go see Scott afterwards anyway and was rushing the hell out of the only two truly single ones there.
After we got home and she rushed over to Scotts, I was feeling a little underwhelmed when it came to- well, everything. I literally had no fucking life, or anything to do with myself besides ponder over Derek Hale, Scott being extremely weird, and whatever the fuck was going on with the bullshit that was going on. I could not deal.
I don't think I can wait until the formal to get drunk- and then even have my alcohol consumption being monitered. This is why I hate being a teenager. I'm ready to 21, so I can buy my own damn drinks.
But, what I will do is go to a liquor store and find a random lonely drunk old man who is willing to buy me something to drink for a few flirts and empty promises. I hopped in my car and was about to GPS a liquor store until I heard multiple people approaching the garage. I shrunk down in my seat and made sure I was completely hidden. Kate and my Dad accompanied by what I can only describe as my fathers henchman. They were carrying guns.
"The girls are still out?" My dad said, surverying the cars parked in our six car garage. Allison was still gone, and he wasn't here when she dropped me off. He doesn't know.
"Yes so lets make it quick. They're heading to the Hale house as we speak," Kate said. I glanced up at my rearview mirror so I could see what was going on. They were getting into the car as they spoke. I waited impatiently for them to pull out of the driveway but as soon as they did and the door closed, I hopped out of the car and ran across the hall towards my training room. In a matter of seconds I grabbed some throwing knives and was back in my car.
Thankfully I knew a way to get to the Hale house without them knowing I was ever following them which meant I would only have to jog through the woods down my normal path. I couldn't leep still as I drove, for some reason I just felt like something big might be happening right now.
I didn't even think as I jogged through the wood path towards the Hale house, I was running so fast that branches were smacking my face and marking up my arms- I didn't care. I had to get there fast because this way was not as fast. I didn't want to miss anything.
But then I started to hear rapid fire gunshots. I knew it had to be my famliy right away. The sound of assault rifles didn't do anything else but inspire me to run harder and faster. I pushed myself enough that I reached the tree line in only a minute after the gunshots started.
What I saw was unbelievable. I didn't even know what to think of it. They were lined up and shooting alright but it was at a man...a thing.
He was on all fours, glowing blue eyes shining in the dark It was Derek Hale but it wasn't; he had sideburns and fangs. He was howling and growling like a wolf…
Like a werewolf.
I wrote her to find out about wolves in the way Allison does but I think Jos bad ass and her own character enough to find out for herself. The problem is i was dead tired at prolly like 5am writing this so dont judge.
Yk whats crazy? Im two chapters behind according to the of story. I really use to write for every episode its sad. Season 1 for me is 10 chapter which means i only have about 16 more to go to get to the same position which is not a lot considering ten chapters took less than a week
