I don't own One Piece! This world belongs to Eiichiro Oda and these amazing characters are his. My OC'S and this story, however, are my own! This is a work of fiction from me, any relevance to the real world or other works is purely coincidental.

Usopp

Usopp added another "special-color-smoke-explosion" to the pile. He had to warn them, and this was the only way he could think of. At least without going onto the island himself, screw that.

"How are we doing?" Franky asked, turning The Sunny's wheel.

"Just focus on getting to The Mini-Merry," Usopp shouted. "I'll work on getting this warning above the island."

"You think this will work?" Brook asked, adding another one of the orbs to the growing pile.

"It has to," Chopper said, his human form adding a large handful to the arsenal.

"Exactly," Usopp nodded, worry was hitting him hard. The sounds of explosions had started coming from the island again. Usopp was feeling more and more unsettled by the sounds. Something was definitely going wrong on the island. Damn, he'd known this was a bad idea from the get-go.

"Brook, load them in," Usopp snapped, jumping into the cannon's control. "And keep loading until I say otherwise."

"You know this will alert the Navy to our location as well. That is if they haven't seen us already," Robin warned.

"I know that," Usopp pulled his goggles down over his eyes and started aiming far above the island. "You and Chopper just focus on picking up The Mini Merry. I'll warn our friends and Franky will keep us moving so the Navy doesn't sink us before they get here. It's not the best plan, but it's the only one I could think of."

"It'll work," Brook offered, though Usopp couldn't quite tell if he was smiling or not.

"Yeah," Usopp nodded, grinning slightly as he lined his shot up perfectly and pulled the trigger.

Then the sounds of explosions echoed through the air as massive puffs of white and blue powdery smoke filled the sky.

Zoro

Zoro took another step forward before realizing Alba wasn't in front of him anymore. He paused, turning to find her standing still and staring at the sky.

"What is it?" He asked, stepping closer. He didn't like the sudden rigidity of her stance. Something had felt off about her ever since they'd found the sign filled with wanted posters, and now she was just staring into space. He was starting to worry about her mental well-being. Maybe she should have just stayed behind on The Sunny after all.

"There," Alba said, raising her finger to point at the sky. Zoro glanced in that direction to find flashes of blue and white dancing through the nearby clouds. The colors of the Navy? "It's a warning."

"How do you know?" Zoro asked, his hand unconsciously gripping the hilt of his blade.

"The Navy wouldn't announce their own presence."

Zoro nodded. Alba remained still, the wind rushing up to rustle her hair. She closed her eyes, leaning into the breeze as if seeking comfort from the wind itself.

"Here," she sighed, finally turning to face Zoro, holding out her hand.

"….what…?" Zoro asked flatly, turning his head sideways, why was she offering him her hand. She really had lost her mind. How hard had she hit her head when that man was slamming her into that building? Maybe they should just turn back and grab The Mini Merry, they could find the others later.

"We don't have time to waste and I'm done dragging you back every time you turn the wrong way. If the Navy is here then we're all in trouble…" Alba glanced down then, sadness echoing through her face.

"Fine," Zoro grumbled, hating the look of pure despair in her eyes. He gently took her hand. Her grip was surprisingly soft and light, an odd counterpart to his own strong and callused fingers.

"Let's go," Alba nodded, turning and walking in what Zoro was sure was the wrong direction. But he let himself be led. Even if she was losing her mind, it just meant that he couldn't risk being separated from her even more. Yeah, this would at least keep her from wandering away from him.

They hurried along in silence, the grip on his hand tightening every so often as if she were needing to reassure herself that he was there.

Nami

Nami scurried along the shadowed wall. The bag of treasure had grown enough to slow her down and she was moving cautiously, using her environment to her advantage. Nami paused as she heard a rush of people racing down a nearby hallway. She remained still until the sound of hurried footsteps faded, thankful for the newfound commotion outside.

A pause in the action gave Nami enough courage to continue down the hallway. As she passed a window however a flash of color caught her eye. She turned, placing her cumbersome bag on the floor. She reached out undoing the locks and pushing the large window open so she could see more clearly. Sure enough, it hadn't been a trick of the light, flashes of blue and white were lighting the sky in a brilliant display.

Nami lifted her hand to shield her eyes from the slowly sinking sun so she could get a better view of the vivid flashes of color. Nami paused, watching. Blue, white, blue, white. Navy colors.

"Oh no," Nami breathed, her eyes drifting down to the sack of treasure. The navy was here, not only that but she had to get this sack of treasure out with her.

Nami leaned over, quickly lifting the wonderfully heavy sack onto her back again. She had hoped to have more time to search, but she already wasn't moving very quickly, spending any more time in this place than necessary was a terrible idea. Nami turned back the way she'd come, slipping as silently as she could through the large hallway, pausing every so often to listen. She wasn't too far from a door that opened to the courtyard she'd seen Luffy in before. Hopefully, Sanji had cleared up that mess and she could quietly slip away toward The Mini Merry, then circle round to get the others before returning to The Sunny to run.
