"Ah, Mrs. Strongblossom, Mrs. Strongblossom." Emperor Belos said bowing slightly. "I've been waiting restlessly for our meeting. I've been wanting to discuss the little business you're running, and of course, being the queens of the Saccharine Isles."
Both of your moms smiled at the tall man with a mask on. "Of course, your majesty. It's a pleasure to meet you!"
The emperor's eyes land on you. You were wearing a beige button up shirt with dark brown pants and your hair was in your favorite hairstyle.
"Golden Guard."
The Golden Guard stepped forward, holding his staff. "Yes, sir?"
"What is your child's name, Mrs. Strongblossom?"
"Oh! Sweetie, introduce yourself!"
"My name Y/n Strongblossom...I attend Spellacy, a school in Easthallow on the Saccharine Isles." You say, your voice monotone. You didn't trust the Emperor.
He had this evil aura about him.
"Ah, Y/n. That's a beautiful name." The emperor looked at your parents. "Would it be alright if my best guard-" The Golden Guard stood taller, proud. "-took Y/n out to have a tour of the Boiling Isles while we discuss some things?"
"Of course it would! Go on Y/n!" Your mother, Jana said.
"What? Why can't I stay here?" You say turned your head to them. "I-I don't know that guy! He could murder me!"
"Y/n, don't be ridiculous." Your mom, Isabella, said rolling her eyes. "Emperor, I'm so sorry about their behavior!"
"Actually..." The Golden Guard spoke up. He paused looking at the Emperor. The emperor nodded once. "I'm actually Mx. Y/n's age. I'm sixteen. And,"
He turned to you. "If you're not comfortable with going around the Boiling Isles with me, I could take you to a restaurant near here." He said. "We could skip the tour and just go eat while Emperor Belos and your parents talk."
You stared at him. He had an honest aura around him. He didn't have an evil aura, like the Emperor.
"Hmm. I'll take the tour." You said finally. "You have to promise to take me somewhere to eat after you do!"
"I promise," He said before leaning down, bowing. "Mx. Y/n."
Your moms 'Aww' as he held out his arm. You hesitantly took it as he led you out the throne room.
You walked arm in arm with the Golden Guard down the hall, passing guards who turned their heads, whispering.
You felt your face heat up. You looked down and soon the two of you reached the cool night outside.
He hopped on his staff. "I know it's not really classy, but-"
"Holy shit, is that a flying staff?!" You exclaim looking around it. "My moms never let me ride one! They said it's a death trap! At school everyone rides them, though! And your parents let you?! Wow!"
"I- Um, I don't have parents...my only family is my uncle."
"Oh. I'm sorry..."
"No, it's fine. Are you going to get on?"
You lit up right away and looked at the castle. Then you sat on the staff behind him, touching his waist and you grinned. "This is so cool!"
He laughed. "Okay, hold on tight!"
You wrap your arms around his waist tightly as he kicked off the ground. Suddenly, you guys were in the clouds, flying fast as the cold air hit your face.
You laugh looking down. "Wow!" You smiled at the Guard. "Hey, what's your name?"
He slowed down. "It doesn't matter...this is Bonesborough, the largest town in the Boiling Isles."
Your eyes drift down again. It was so..beautiful. "That's amazing!"
He nodded once and continued on, you saw many places like Hexide, Dead Man's Curve (Which the Golden Guard actually landed so you could have a feeling of standing on it), Latissa, Lake Lacuna...and so many more places.
"The Boiling Isles is amazing!" You said as the two of you walked into a restaurant. The Golden Guard nodded as he opened the door for you.
He got the two of you a table and the people brought you food.
"So tell me, Y/n...what's it like in the Saccharine Isles?" The Golden Guard took off his mask and you stare, your face heating up.
He looked...wow. Is everything here wow?! You coughed and looked into his eyes.
"Oh...well, it's a boring place. There are a lot of people who are kind but vulnerable." You smiled. "That's where my moms come in. They help our people become more confident in themselves."
"Is it fun being being royal at school?" He asked. The Golden Guard started to eat and as did you.
"Well...it gets lonely. People are too scared I'll get them punished so they stay away. So I usually just spend my time in a library or with my actual friend, Ossie. They're nice, but we rarely hang out because they're busy with being the top student."
"I'm sorry that happens, Y/n." He said after a few moments.
"No, it's okay. But I really wish I knew your name."
He cracked a smile and looked down. "Ah, my name isn't all that important."
You tilt your head. "Tell me about yourself."
He paused. "About me?"
"Yeah."
He hesitates. "Well, I'm sixteen...um...I don't know what to say." He laughed a little.
His smile was...wow...
Your face burns as you took a sip of your drink, looking away.
"That's okay. I don't want to force you." You said swallowing and you turned your head down to look at your food. "Thanks for taking me here,"
He grinned and said, "Hey, no problem. Anything for the Princen of the Saccharine Isles."
You laughed.
The two of you spent the night together and spoke about different things. You realized he was just a regular kid, like you.
He was lonely from time to time. Like you...You had gotten to know him. You wanted to be his friend so badly, but was afraid you'd sound weird or desparate.
So you stayed quiet.
Outside the throne room door
You could hear your moms wrapping it up with the Emperor.
You turn to the guard. "Thanks, golden guard. For tonight." He had his mask off. You held out your hand to shake his.
Instead he takes it and lean down, placing a soft kiss on your knuckles. "It was my pleasure, Mx. Strongblossom." he looked up at you. "And please. Call me Hunter."
He slipped on his mask right before the door opened, showing your moms and the Emperor. Their meeting has finished.
You slipped on your uniform and went down the stairs. Your mom stopped you just as you were heading to the door.
"Y/n, aren't you going to eat?" She asked.
You slipped on your messenger bag, which had pictures of mushrooms on it with clouds. You had a bunch of pins, like a Love is Love pin, a (your sexuality) pin, (your pronouns) pin, and anime pins. You looked at her. "Um, no, thanks mom. I'll eat at school."
She gave you a hug and you grabbed your staff.
You walked to school. On the Saccharine Isles, there were 3 types of magic, but to use those three types, you had to use crystals. The three main crystals were called the Noel stones, because of how their colors looked like the colors humans would use when celebrating their holiday called Christmas.
To use the crystals for your own uses, you had to give them something of you.
The red crystal helps you give you the ability to summon and control fire, the heat, anger, and courage.
You can also have blistering fast speed when you use this crystal. To be able to use this crystal you have to give it a small amount of your blood.
The blue crystal helps you summon and control water, the cold, the weather, confidence, unity, and self-expression.
You are able to turn invisible when you use this crystal. To be able to use this crystal, you have to give it your tears.
And finally, the green crystal helps you summon and control nature, life, peace, growth, tranquility, silence, and much much more.
Not only that, the green is the most powerful crystal in the three because you get the abilities the red and blue crystal have. You can also teleport when you use this crystal, and see if stangers' auras are good, or bad.
It's extremely hard to get a green crystal because the one thing the crystal wants from you is something you need. Something priceless.
Your ability to see colors.
People would refuse to do even that, so only you and your family take that sacrifice. That is why the green crystal isn't sold in stores. It's for the royal Strongblossom family.
You hesitated. I can just teleport to school. That wouldn't take as long. You thought. Then you shook your head.
Ossie usually met you on the way to school. The little time you spent with them were when you walked to school, and at lunch.
"Y/n!" You heard. You turned. Ossie grinned. The crystal staff they used was blue. "Hey! I heard you went to the Boiling Isles? How was it?" They asked.
You told them about your trip to the Boiling Isles as you walked. You told them about Hunter, the boy you met while you were there.
Ossie seemed to notice you stammering and the way your cheeks darkened. They smirked.
"I see~" They cooed. "Do you like him?"
You looked away. "O...Of course not! I just met him!" You continued and they laughed when struggled to tell them the part about when he kissed your hand calling you 'Mx. Strongblossom'.
"OOh~ He sounds charming!" They said grinning.
You smiled. "Yeah. What about you? How was your break?"
"Same old same old, Mom and Dad were fighting about who ruined me first."
You look sad. Ossie's mother and father weren't supportive of the community you two were apart of. You were (sexuality) and Ossie was non-binary, aromantic, and asexual.
"I'm sorry, Ossie," You said squeezing their hand. "You can always stay the night at my house. I'm sure my moms wouldn't mind!"
Ossie pat you head. "Oh, it's fine." They said. "I'm fine!"
You two walk through the doors and Ossie hugged you. "Hey, I have to go to a counsel meeting. I'll see you at lunch!" They turned and headed off.
You went through the hall and straight to you class. There was no one you needed to wait for, and there was no one you needed to meet.
That was okay.
Ossie was enough.
You sat in your seat and opened your bag. You pulled out a book you were reading recently and you heard a voice say, "I love that boo-eh?!"
You looked up and saw a boy freeze as he saw you.
"U-Um..sorry to bother you, Mx. Y/n..." He turned and hurried to the other side of the classroom and rolled your eyes.
Your eyes turn back to the book as you heaved a sigh.
"Y/n, four children have small toys. The first child has 1/10 of the toys, the second child has 12 more toys than the first, the third child has one more toy of what the first child has and the fourth child has double the third child. How many toys are there?"
You looked up from your notes, and your mouth drifted open. "Uhhh...H-Hold up-" You scratched your pencil on paper, muttering.
You look up and say, "Uh, so the toy is x. I- Um, I did the math, and it seems that x is 30."
"Correct, now you see, if you..."
You look at your page and looked at the window. I wonder what Hunter is doing? You thought.
The bell soon rang and you stood walking out the door, not noticing a slight shadow passing in the window.
You opened you lunch and started to eat when Ossie sat down.
"How was math?" They asked.
You sighed. "It was so boring!" You complained. "What about you? How was Hexing?"
"This kid was treating this kid bad for being transgender, so I hexed him. He can crab walk and sing when he walks and talks."
You laugh. "Nice!"
"Other than that, it was boring." Ossie took a piece of your food and you slapped their hand away.
"Hey, if you're hungry, get your own!" You laugh.
"Sharing is caring!" They sang.
"Not if it involved food!" You shot back. "Here, you can have my carrots!"
They moan. "Eww! Nooo!"
You both laugh.
On your way home from school you felt like someone was watching you. You turn nervously. No one.
You slowly brought out your staff. "Hello?" You said out loud.
Nothing. You looked around. You shiver when you head, "That's some staff."
You jump back startled shooting magic at the person who spoke. They dodged it. The person had on a cape and a gold owl-like mask.
You realized it was the Golden Guard.
