Perry's eyes were downcast as he peered at the conveyor belt of blinking lights. Perry has been depressed for the past few days, ever since his wife left him. He had considered seeking a new partner, but who would want to be with a guy who has a never-ending smile?
Monster walked up to Perry, a worried look on his face along with Robot. "Perry, are you doing okay?" Monster inquired softly.
"Huh? Oh, yeah... "He shrugged, not attempting to seem convincing.
The two friends exchanged a puzzled glance before returning their attention to Perry. "You've ignored three broken lights! You're defiantly not okay!" Monster pointed out the damaged lights and immediately snatched them before they were packaged.
"It's none of your business, okay!?" Perry said with a sharp snap, causing Monster to flinch.
Robot glared at Perry. "He's just trying to help."
Perry groaned and slowly shook his head. "I know... and I'm sorry but I'm just having a hard time with life..."
"Is it about your never-ending smile?" Robot remarked, then Monster nudged his friend's arm as Perry flashed Robot a look.
"As I said before, none of your business!" and with that, Perry stomped away.
"Abandoning his workstation? Something is defiantly wrong with Perry..." Monster spoke up, sounding concerned for the Mechanical.
"Who knows what's wrong with him." Robot shrugged. "Smiling for the rest of your life? Wouldn't be surprised if someone left him..."
"Apparently his wife left him. Most likely due to his ridiculous smile." as he sipped his bacon coffee, Gart stated.
Robot was taken aback. "Wait, I was right?!"
"Do you think there's anything we can do to help Perry?" Monster questioned, his sorrowful eyes on Gart.
"Tch, do I look like a guidance counselor?" he then examined his hand as if it were a dire need of a manicure. "I don't care what you do as long as you don't forsake your workstations..." Gart noted in an annoyed tone.
"Come on, Robot! Let's go see if we can cheer up Perry!" Monster sprang up and rushed out of Gart's office, ecstatic.
Robot was ready to pursue the purple Organic when his brother/boss summoned him.
"Oh, and Robot."
Robot grumbled and slowly turned to Gart. "Yes?"
"Please do not bother showing up in my office if it has anything to do with 'helping' people..." Gart shuddered at the mere thought of helping others.
"Oh, believe me, I won't!" Robot growled under his breath. "You're not much of a help anyway..." He muttered as he wheeled himself out of his office.
~At the Makin' Bacon~
Perry had gone to the Makin' Bacon and sat on the stool with a gloomy expression on his face. Of course, the others in the room have no clue what he was feeling because of his cursed smile.
Perry's platter of bacon was laid down by Nessie. Perry quietly said his thanks before taking one bacon strip and giving it a long and sorrowful stare.
Nessie observes this and questions him about it. "Why so down in the dumps?"
"Oh.. you know. Life's been hard with this stupid smile..." he murmured, munching on his bacon unhappily. "My wife dumped me, and now I don't know what to do..."
Nessie gave him a sympathetic look before placing one of her tentacles on his shoulder and smiling softly. "Don't give me that gloomy look. The bacon wouldn't taste good with a frown! Why not consider dating again?"
"I had thought that... but who would want to date a smiling freak like... me?"
"Who knows, maybe someone out there likes that silly smile of yours! Also, someone should like you for who you are; it doesn't matter if you always smile, as long as you have a likable personality."
Perry was speechless; Nessie had never spoken so deeply before... or ever helped anyone for that matter. Perry smiled heartily. "Thanks, Nessie..."
"Anytime. Now eat up, don't want the bacon getting cold." Nessie smirked, "I hope you find that partner soon." she winked and then wheeled away.
Perry nodded and began eating his bacon, attempting to shift his attention away from his wife and into his search for a new partner.
Monster dashed inside the restaurant, followed by Robot cautiously. "PERRY!" he yelled to grab his attention.
Perry whirled around to find himself facing the panting Monster.
"W-we're here to... one sec..." Monster paused for a while to gather his breath. "HELP YOU WITH DATING!"
Everyone in the restaurant turned to stare at the group, perplexed as to what was all the commotion about.
"Keep it down!" Perry hissed, signaling with his hands for Monster to keep the information private. "I don't want you helping and possibly ruining my love life!"
"I tried to tell Monster that..." Robot sighed as he strolled up to the Organic.
"But it's my duty to help people! So I figured–"
"No! As I already stated, I am capable of doing this on my own!" Perry exclaimed then poked Monster's chest. "Why don't you worry about your OWN life instead of worrying about someone else's?" Perry barked then returned his attention to his platter of bacon with an angry scowl.
Monster sighed as Robot stroked him on the back. "Come on, Monster, let's go sit down."
"I don't see why Perry doesn't want our assistance..." Monster spoke quietly as he sat down at the table. "Doesn't he want help and support?"
"Well... I guess some people prefer to do things on their own..."
"But I wanted to help him!" Monster cried and rested his head on the table.
"It's not that big of a deal y'know–"
"A LOVE CRISIS IS A BIG DEAL!"
"AHHH!" Robot fell back in his seat as Ogo pounced onto their table.
"Ogo?" Monster stared in confusion.
"OGO!" Robot shouted in exasperation.
"OGO! Oh, wait.. that's me!" Ogo laughed then got off the table.
"What are you doing here?" Monster questioned the clingy neighbor.
"I overheard you talking about Perry, and I know just how to help!"
"NO! Sorry, Ogo, but Perry has made it absolutely clear that he doesn't want ANYONE engaged!" As he sat back in his seat, Robot remarked.
"That's because you two, unlike me, aren't love experts! Believe me, I know how to handle a love problem!"
"Wow, really?!" Monster said in awe while Robot gave an unsure look.
"Right... and how are you a so-called 'love expert'?"
"I've watched so many romantic movies and novels that I know EXACTLY what I'm doing!" Ogo stated boldly. "On top of that, I also observe the affection between my two pals~" Ogo gave Robot and Monster a wink.
Robot simply shrugged, as if oblivious to the idea that Ogo was once again spying on them. "Fine... but Perry would just bite your head off."
"Oh, he's not going to. I know exactly what I'm doing! CAPTIAN OGO IS ON THE CASE!" Ogo sped towards Perry.
"Wait... would Perry actually bite Ogo's head off?!" Monster grabbed his horns in worry.
Robot shook his head slowly. "No, of course not. It's a figure of speech..."
"Oh... well, should we see how he's doing?" Monster inquired in interest as he watched Perry conversing with Ogo; he did not appear to be annoyed in the least.
"I guess..." Robot rolled his eyes.
Perry and Ogo continued to converse. Robot watched as Perry appeared interested in what Ogo was saying. Perry and Ogo both laughed, then kept talking.
"Huh... I might be wrong, but does Perry appear... happy to you?" Robot raised his eyes to the purple beast in question.
"I'm not sure... he's laughing, which is a good sign!" Monster clapped his paws silently.
"I find it strange that he's actually listening to Ogo!" Robot gave a disbelief look at the two talking.
"Perhaps Ogo is right; he is a love expert!"
"I highly doubt that... but it's definitely something else..." In thought, Robot tapped his pincher finger on the table.
