Soluta Lingua

Summary: There's a reason why Izuku is constantly muttering, and it's not a nice one.

Story Start: UA Hero School, Auditorium, Day of Entrance Exam

Present Mic's explanation was interrupted as a hand was raised and someone called out "Excuse me, I have a question!"

"Go right ahead Contestant 711!" Present Mic called out.

A spotlight shown on the speaker revealing a blue haired glasses wearing teen wearing a suit and he stood up with the sheet detailing the enemies. Pointing at the fourth picture he asked "Was there a mistake on the printout? There are four figures here but you mentioned only three! If this is indeed a mistake, it is disgraceful of the so called best school to hand out instructions with the wrong information."

The teen then turned around and pointed right at where Izuku was sitting as he ordered "And you with the curly hair! Cease your muttering at once! If you will not take this seriously then leave at once! You are distracting everyone else!"

Izuku Midoriya stared flatly at the person before he stood up. Obligingly, a spotlight turned on above him and he said stoically "For your information buddy, I have Soluta Lingua." Tapping his head, he continued "When I was six, I took a hard knock to my head. It damaged the part of my brain that controls my mouth saying what the brain tells it to say and to remain silent on what it wants kept quiet, the Brain to Mouth Filter in Layman terms. I literally can't help but speak what's on my mind, all I can do is try to keep my volume down which gets harder the more excited or otherwise emotional I get."

Beside him, Katsuki Bakugo's eyes shifted away. He had been the one to give the 'hard knock' and seeing your once best friend sent to the hospital because you hit him too hard had been a rather big wake up call for the then budding bully.

Izuku's eyes narrowed at the now uncomfortable teen and he asked "Also, no one around me told me to be quiet so I'd hardly say I'm bothering everyone. Tell me, do you have a medical excuse for being a rude, insensitive, self-righteous jerk?"

The teen's ears flushed red and he spluttered but before he could come up with a retort, Present Mic cut in and said "Alright you two, let's not start any insult wars here. To answer your question 711, there are only one of the fourth kind of enemies in each battle zone and they're more of a gimmick, worth zero points, and so better to run away from."

Once Present Mic had finished explaining things and the students began standing up, Izuku looked to his classmate and said quietly "Good luck Kaachan."

Katsuki gave a soft scoff and equally quietly said "Save that luck for yourself Nerd." He then looked at Izuku properly and continued "Seriously though, focus on the robots, not the others, don't get distracted by their quirks."

Izuku nodded and the pair split up. But even with his classmate's words, Izuku's mouth was already moving as he took in a few standout hopefuls around him.
