Again.

"Sooo...what do we do now?" El asks Max whose eyes were wandering here and there in search of something.

"Actually, Lucas said that he has news for us so he told me to come to the cafe." El furrowed her eyebrows. News? What news? Is it good? Is it bad? What is it about?

"Uhm... what news?" El asks the redhead, following her from behind but Max just shrugs. "Dunno."

The two best friends walk together, shopping bags in their hands and sunglasses on their eyes, reaching for the cafe. After 10 or 15 minutes, both best friends reached the cafe that was nearby the mall. They enter hand in hand and peek inside, finding the three boys sitting around a table, clearly waiting for the girls. They walk up to the boys and greet them before settling themselves down on the chairs.

"Ok, so what did you guys want to talk about?" Max asks the boys who were secretly passing strange looks to each other.

Dustin nervously chuckles before continuing, "T-talk? No...no!" he shakes his head. "We just wanted to have some cappuccino with you guys. That's- that's all."

"Dustin." Will glares at Dustin, signaling him to shut up.

"But Max said that Lucas has a... news for us?" El gets confused. Did Max lie to her? Or the boys were hiding something? "Yeah." Max nods in agreement. "And that's what Lucas told me."

"Okay. Okay. Yeah, this is true." Lucas finally admits, making the two boys panic. "But I really think that we need to sip some cappuccino before um-" he shares a look with the boys who were clearly in a state of panic and continues, "...I tell you about it."

"Okay, now, this is some serious shit," El mumbles before taking the menu in her hands.

They all ordered something for except Lucas who was rubbing his sweaty hands together. He had a broken look on his face while his eyes were stuck on El, who was chatting with Max and clearly having no idea that the news she was about to hear in a minute or two, will tear her heart into two pieces.

He also knew her past and there would be no way in hell that she would not react. But what he could do? He was also stuck in the situation.

His thoughts vanish from his mind as he feels someone's hand on his lap. He looks to the side and sees Dustin having the same look on his face. "You good?" Lucas just nods and turns his head back to the girls.

Now or never.

He cleared his throat claiming the girl's attention. "So...as y'all know my birthday is only 2 days far."

"Yeah." the two girls responded in unison.

"And you all also know that I invited 'all' of my friends." He emphasized 'all'. "What-" Max tries to speak but Caleb shakes his head, shutting her up.

El suddenly understood what Lucas was trying to refer to and that's when the usual grip started to form in her chest. She shifts uncomfortably on her seat, leaning herself more to the table, still believing that it'll be not what she is expecting.

Lucas shifted his gaze to El who was biting her bottom lip anxiously. "El, this might hurt you a bit but-" he holds his breath trying to read her facial expressions which changed from the cheerful expression she had a few minutes ago. "I mean... all I'm trying to refer to is that Mike... is also my friend- I mean my best friend..." He tries to get the words out but he fails. Just looking at his friend getting so much hurt at the mention of his best friend's name was hitting him like a truck.

He didn't want this to happen. But see... things never work as they are expected to be.

El was frozen in the seat at the mention of the boy. No. This can't happen. Her heart can't be stabbed again.

And the next words blow out like breeze but enough to cause a storm. "He is coming to the party too."

And just like that, her mind started to spin. Why? Why do troubles never stop chasing her?

"What the hell, Lucas?!" The redhead shouted, claiming strange looks from the people who were in the cafe. But she didn't care in that situation. Not when her boyfriend made the biggest mistake he had ever made. "Have you lost your mind?!"

"Max I-" Lucas tries to explain but the redhead didn't let him. "No, shut the fuck up! How dare you invite Mike?!"

"Guys, this is not the time to fight-" Dustin's voice interrupts but Max was not done yet. She glares at the curly boy. "Shut it, Dustin." She snaps her head back to her boyfriend and points her finger at him. "You know what he did to El and you still did this? HOW FUCKING DARE YOU?!"

"Max he literally called me on the phone and said that he remembers my birthday! It was him who wanted to come!" Lucas yelled. "And how he would have felt if I wouldn't invited him, still knowing that my best friend remembers my birthday?!"

"Wait. Are you really feeling guilty 'bout him, not coming to the party?" Max sarcastically lets out. "Can't you see how hurt El would be when she'll see him, here?"

"Max. I know-"

"No, you don't know anything!" Max exclaims.

"El are you okay?" Will's voice cuts the heated atmosphere as the two fighting couples also divert their eyes at El. The tears were flowing out of her eyes non-stop as her hands searched for something to hold onto. Before responding she quickly stands up and rushes out of the cafe.

"Oh shit," Gaten mumbles as the redhead glares at her boyfriend last time and also storms out the door, following the sobbing girl.

"Dude, you fucked up bad," Will murmurs, looking at Lucas.

"Indeed," Dustin emphasizes, gaining Lucas' sharp glare. He also storms out of the cafe, leaving the two boys in confusion. "What did I do?" Dustin asks Will who also gets up before exiting the cafe.

"Hey, Will?!" Dustin runs after him. "What did I dooo?"
