Revenge.
"-And then Ash and I started talking and then slowly... we fell in love with each other," Mike explains, putting his hand on his girlfriend's shoulder, hugging her from the side.
The four friends were chatting about random stuff at Lucas' house as he invited them to his place, informing them that Mike has arrived. The boys showed up in a minute or two but there was still no sign of the girls. Dustin and Will were shocked to see the new girl with Mike so they asked him to explain how and when they met. And Mike was happy to share his story with his friends. The whole time Mike narrated, Dustin and Will never blinked away, and however, Ashlyn turned into a tomato.
And talking about Lucas, he was still unhappy about the whole situation. Max hasn't called him since the day he told them Mike is coming to Hawkins and this was making him anxious. He also wanted to see if El was okay or not as she had a panic attack in front of his eyes.
The phone was glued to his ear as he dialed his girlfriend's number, again, for the 12th time of the day. The ringing sound goes...goes...goes...and goes. But still no answer. He sighs, giving up but then a voice comes from the other side of the phone. "Hello?"
"Dude, that's crazy!" Dustin's voice exclaims, amazed by the love story of his friend. It sounded fake to Will but Dustin enjoyed it a lot. He gets a sharp glare from Will who was sitting by his side. He looks at the glaring boy and shares a look, 'What did I do?' Will just rolled his eyes and adjusted himself back on the bed.
Will also wasn't happy about this situation. El was like a sister to him and what Mike did to her, he's never going to forgive him; even though he's his childhood friend.
"I know right," Mike says, lulling his girlfriend back and forth in his arms. They all chat a bit more and that's when Mike realizes that something or... someone is clearly missing.
And then he remembers the girls aren't here yet. He didn't care much about Max though as she annoyed the shit out of him, but he wanted to see El. 'Why didn't El show up, yet?' He asks himself as his eyes still wander around the room in search of her. It's been two years since he had seen her. But now, he was there, in the same place as her. And he was dying to see her.
He wanted to see what she looked like. : Tall? Nah. Not than him. Mature? For sure.
He wanted to hear what her voice sounded like. : Sweet? Yes, definitely, sweet.
He wanted to touch and feel her skin on his. : Best sensation in the world.
He wanted to hug and promise her that he'll never let her go. : One of his best promises.
But then... he remembers his promise to her and her, breaking it.
He remembers how she stepped on his heart, crushing it into million pieces. How she burnt all the love he gave to her like a paper on fire. How she played with his feelings for a whole year and threw them away. How she was able to break that soft person in a minute and converted him into a beast.
And just remembering those awful memories in his mind, he feels his body stiffening. He feels a new, strange sensation in his body. He feels his blood rushing in his cells, quickly, chasing after something that is soon enough to evaporate. And then he feels it coming, his eyes turn dark as his heart finally evaporates all the love he had for her. Every single spot that was covering that affectionate feeling was now gone. Completely disappeared.
He looks around and sees Ashlyn talking and giggling with his friends. And just then... an idea comes to his mind. A desire for revenge develops in his heart as he smirks, knowing what to do now.
"Hey, Lucas?" He asks, tilting his head a bit. Lucas snaps his head in his direction, "Yeah?"
"It's been literally five hours. Where are Max and Eleanor?" Lucas cringes at El's full name. "Yeah, actually, I forgot to tell you that... um- they aren't coming."
Mike frowns. What? Why? But then Lucas continues, "They...they said that they're somewhere out, in a restaurant or something."
'Restaurant is more important than me?' Mike thinks. 'Oh, so now she's gonna play hide and seek? Oh. I'll tell her what is actually called playing.'
"So...why don't we go to the restaurant and meet up with them?" Mike smiles, making the three boys' eyes widen. "I mean- it's been really long since I hanged out with you guys too and I lost the feeling of it."
"So...we can hang out, meet with them and probably eat there too, right?"
"But Mike-" Will tries to argue but then sees Ashlyn clapping her hands together at her boyfriend's clever mind. "Yeah! I never got to see this town before so I also wanna go!" She walks up to Mike and pouts, "Mikey? Please can we go? I want to meet Max. She seems pretty cool."
Well, yeah, she's right. She likes the name of the new girl, Max, and is sure that her personality will also be something that will attract her. But... meeting Eleanor doesn't seem appealing to her though as she knows that, that girl is Mike's ex and she doesn't want that bitch, breathing the same air as her and Mike.
Mike chuckles at his girlfriend's childish behavior and turns his head to Lucas, "See. She wants to go too. And what my girlfriend wants, she gets." "O-okay." Lucas gulps and nods, sharing a look with the two boys, standing behind Mike and secretly signaling him to abort.
But Lucas knows that one day or the other, the two teenagers who were meant to be soul mates... have to encounter.
Mike tucks his hand in his girlfriend's arm like a gentleman. "Come on, babe."
"We're going to have so much fun." He smirks, whispering the last part softly. Not to Ash, but to himself.
OooOOOooooh! Mike's on his revenge. I wonder what he'll do. But don't get too excited 'cause his plan of getting revenge is definitely gonna fail. This was a chapter I wrote and saved earlier than writing the third one. And I'm happy to see how this turned out. LMAO, I feel like this is the best one written yet. Anyways, hope you liked this chapter!
