AN: This story is sort of like the Delinquent of Vale but it's been so long since I last wrote it so I have forgot what I was originally and I also have completely new ideas with what I'm planning compared to the other one, and it ain't a fanfiction of a Fanfiction
…………………………………………………………………………………………………
Tanya was confused at first, wherever she was it wasn't the front lines or any city in the empire. The ground was more similar to an unpaved road, as it was dirt, not cobblestone, cold hard dirt it wasn't muddy. She was in what was essentially an alleyway, it was mostly devoid of people, she still had her combat jacket on, meant to help keep her warm whenever in the air. But no weapons, except for the knife hidden in her boot, and another hidden in her jacket.
She couldn't trust anybody right now, she was in a pretty strange place, luckily both of her operation orbs were still with her, the 95 in her pocket and the 97 around her neck. No money though left the marks in her barracks, don't want to lose it.
The operation orbs looked like a necklace with a jewel in the center than anything else, but she could get robbed any second and lose them. She would have probably had to give up the 95 either way she didn't like it and was willing to sacrifice it to save her skin. Chances are anybody robbing her would be dead faster than a new recruit on the Rhine front.
Tanya pulled up her hood and hid her face, she was pretty short for someone of her age but without any visible weapons no one would exactly take notice of her. Most would probably a shy kid or a kid trying to get out of the rain or something.
She walked in the unknown crowded city streets, she mostly stuck to the side near the buildings and the alleyways. Tanya walked for around ten minutes, then she stopped, something caught her attention, a spider on a web graffiti near an alleyway.
Next to it though was someone who had the same tattoo as the graffiti on the wall. Chances are it meant an information broker or some criminals or a rally of sorts. She walked towards the Alley with spider markings, she wasn't stopped but got some eyes directed towards. If she wasn't noticed before she was now.
She arrived at what was a small bar, she didn't make a ruckus, she silently closed the door, a heavy woman who was clearly in her mid thirties was there at the center talking to someone, probably a client.
Tanya was stopped by one of the members, they had the spider in the web tattoo "If you want to talk to Miss Malachite you'll have to wait." Said the Spider person, "although if you're here that means you're probably older than we expected."
"I know when a business person is busy." Tanya answered.
"Alright, for now though, would you like to eat something?" Asked the Spider.
"Depends, is there a way I could pay off my bill after I'm with something that isn't money?" Tanya looked around it clearly as a bar, probably legitimate while at it, the question was how did she get in without being stopped. "Although I'm guessing you're gonna have to ask Miss Malachite about that first."
This perked the interest of the Spider "You have no money? Then why are you here?"
"I could be stingy, also just so you know there could be other ways to pay than just cold hard cash, is there anybody your boss wants dead, I'll happily do it as long as I'm paid with something of equal value." Tanya said, the Spider looked at Tanya suspiciously then left without a word and went to Lil' Miss Malachite, and whispered something to her.
The Spider came back "Lil' Miss would like to talk to you."
Tanya then went towards the table Lil' Miss Malachite was at, she sat down "Now, I would like to ask you about the sudden proposition about payment in other 'forms' like taking out someone?"
"I don't exactly have money, nor do I know where I'm at as well." Tanya responded.
Miss Malachite looked at Tanya confusingly "You mean you have no money and no clue where you are?" She scoffed, "Do you have amnesia?"
"I don't know, hard to tell if you don't remember anything." Tanya responded.
"Of course, but is it true you really don't know where you are?" Malachite asked, looking down at the much smaller hooded figure who was in a fur jacket.
"Not a clue."
"Where are you from?"
"A country called the Empire, doesn't ring a bell?" Tanya asked.
"No it doesn't, how about the word Mistral?"
Tanya thought for a second "No it doesn't." Tanya responded.
"Of course, either Amnesia or you're not from around here. Or it could be both." Malachite said, taking a bite out of her Lunch "Now how about we talk business, you said if there's anyone needing to be taken out you would do it of equal value?" Malachite asked.
"Yes." Tanya responded.
"Alright do you ask for a return, usually I wouldn't hire a mercenary but considering the target. I believe it will be necessary." She said.
"Alright, information about this world, and cash, I'll have learn the values first anything else of course." Tanya said.
Malachite chuckled "You're asking for basic information honey. I'll throw it in for free, that information that is easy to get isn't a service, consider it a down payment." Malachite said.
"Alright tell me everything you know about this world." Tanya said Malachite first started off with money as that was what she was being paid with. It was something known as Lien, and the value of each Lien, it was the standard world wide currency after the Great War 80 years earlier.
Then the Four Kingdoms, Atlas, Mistral, Vacuo, and Vale. Then the Huntsmen Academy they had near their capitals, the Academy's were known as Atlas Academy, Haven Academy, Shade Academy, and Beacon Academy.
After getting all the basic knowledge that was required, if she was hiding anything that was basic knowledge she would've gotten nothing from it except maybe dozens of dead henchmen.
"Now that we're done with that part, how about we get down to business shall we?" Miss Malachite asked.
"Agreed."
"The Target in question is a leader of a rival gang, not much of a threat today but with their current growth they'll be problem, and possibly to you too miss if your not careful." Malachite said.
"So huge potential gang which will bring unwanted attention from the government?" Tanya surmised.
"Yes, and we don't like government attention, so take out their leader." Malachite said, she placed down what looked like a phone, in it was a picture of a man. He had black hair, slightly tanned skinned and the most surprising feature of him was his cat ears. Tanya immediately realized who this person was and how a threat he could be.
"A Faunus." Tanya said.
"Yes, can you take him?" Malachite asked.
"I've dealt with worse." Tanya said.
"Good, then this should be a piece of cake." Malachite responded.
……………………………………………………………………
One moment they were standing around and talking. The next they found one of their friends laying in his own pool of blood as his own throat was cut.
Then something or someone stepped in the forming pool of blood. It looked like a boot. When the blood splattered for a brief moment the part covered in blood was visible, before quickly disappearing.
"What-" Was all a gangster was able to get out till his throat was slit and couldn't breathe before passing out from blood loss and dying seconds later. The invisible figure soon moved to the third gangster and killed him before he responded.
Tanya silently killed the last gangster, soon after he silently fell to the floor with a thud.
The three outside were guards, they weren't much of any guards though. She did use an invisibility formula. Visibly speaking it was impossible to see, magically speaking it was very visible. If you didn't have any kind of mana detecting equipment you wouldn't be able to tell if someone was there if they were using it. Which was the reason why it was super popular to use in infiltration. The average infantry men couldn't tell you were there so they were easy prey.
Tanya opened the door to the decrepit warehouse, nobody noticed it as they were too busy standing around doing nothing. The more attentive gangsters did notice the door slowly open but didn't exactly realize someone came in.
"Hey, did the door open?" Ask a gangster, turning to it seeing nothing.
"The door? I guess the idiots outside didn't close properly and when they leaned against it opened." Said another gangster.
"Oh." He said before they turned to another topic to talk about.
'Talk about sloppy work, didn't even see the dead bodies.' Tanya thought, she was right next to them. Tanya went to the stairs and primed a grenade. The second she threw she opened the door to the gang leader's door, and saw he was making out with a kid, more specifically fifteen with a twenty five year old. Getting extremely comfy to where multiple articles of clothing were already gone.
The two saw nothing as Tanya was invisible, but she stood there blankly trying to process what was happening. The grenade exploded causing commotion. Tanya deactivated the formula, causing the gang leader to realize he was infiltrated, but was too late as Tanya shot him with a gun she got from one of the Spiders. She was disgusted at him. She then sliced the girl's head off with a magic knife it was agreed for no witness's.
Soon after she began slaughtering the entire gang, it was like shooting a fish in a barrel. They were untrained and even the guns they used were unclean.
At one she disarmed a gun and tried shooting him with his own gun but it jammed as it was dirty. So she decided the next best option was beating him to death.
You know what's even more embarrassing than having your gun used against you and it jammed? Getting beaten to death by a 13 year old bare handed. A strength formula was activated and after one punch he was out unconscious and a second his head cracked and as such was dead.
She continued doing until everyone in the warehouse was gone.
She left the soon to be crime scene.
She reported back to Malachite, who was shocked to hear she slaughtered the entire gang.
"You'll be a great asset." Malachite said she placed down a large amount of Lien, around 1500 to be exact. "Consider it a bonus considering how cleanly you 're able to end the entire gang."
"Thank you." Tanya responded, she picked up the Lien and was about to get up before Malachite said something.
"Before you go there's an Inn where you can stay at, it's not that far from here. Not the highest quality of places to stay but it's better than being out in the cold." She placed a card down with an address on it "Tell them lil' Miss Malachite sent you."
Tanya picked the card up and read the address, while leaving the Spider.
"So you're saying there's a newbie on the block? Huh, and she slaughtered a rival Gang?" He chuckled "not that bad then." He then placed his scroll down, picked up his gun from his, and kicked open the door of the dust shop.
