A/N: here is the actual start of the relevant plot! The entire thing will be in Bianca's perspective. Please Review! I am considering writing a side multichapter of just different demigods' perspectives throughout the story, but will most likely finish this, Without Your Light and Lost in the Duat before starting anything new. Also, this is in the book universe, it will just take a couple of chapters to get there.
I sat in the back of the class, Mrs. Dodds droning on as per usual. Then she said something that caught my attention "…..we will have dress up week next week with the generic topic of Family. Monday is dress like your mom, Tuesday dress like your dad, Wednesday dress like a cousin, Thursday dress like your best friend and Friday dress like your parent's enemy." I gingerly raised my hand. "Yes, Bianca?" she sneered.
"Um, what do I do for Monday? I don't have a mom." I asked
"You dress like your mother, Obviously" a girl said. I reconised her: Mikayla Tanaka, Daughter of Drew. She took her mother's maiden name because her father abandoned her.
"Exactly, Bianca." Is what Mrs. Dodds replied. Right then and there I decided that 2:45 couldn't come faster. At least Percy was in charge of pickups today. He'd get us all milkshakes (Blue, of course) and then drop us off. Wait a second, you don't know who I am.
My name is Bianca SolAngelo, Daughter of Nico and Will SolAngelo. I don't look to far into it, but I have two biological fathers. The first thing I should do is explain the whole pickup situation. I am a sixth grader at Goode Middle School, one of the feeder schools into Goode High, which is where most of my Dads' friend group went to school. My best friend is Ashlyn Jackson, and she is one year older than me, but both her and her twin have their birthdays like, the day before school so they were kept behind a year. Sammy and Marie are in this class somewhere, as should Jason. Anyway, a different one of my dads' friends picks the six of us up each day (Me, Ashlyn and her twin, Aiden, Marie, Sammy and Jason) Today, being Friday is the day for either Percy or Annabeth to pick us up. This week is Percy's week. I'm actually kind of glad Beryl doesn't come here yet, because she is in a similar situation as me, except she has two moms. Beryl is Reyna and Thalia's (Jason's sister) daughter.
When the bell rang, I ran outside, looking for the aqua van that could hold 15 people. The others were close behind. We quickly spotted it, with it being the brightest van ever. We all piled into it, running to grab blue milkshakes and then head home. Percy picked Beryl up on the way to get milkshakes.
20 minutes later, we were sitting in the Dairy Queen parking lot, each of the 12 of us finishing up our milkshake. Percy dropped us off, insisting on bringing each of us to our door. I was the second-to-last, the last one of course, was Aiden. Ashlyn had some sort of swim competion that was swimmers and coaches only. I walked inside and went over to the desk that was facing the 'inspiration wall' along with having most materials I need for schoolwork. The art supplies didn't hold a candle to my workshop in my room, but I had enough to sketch what I wanted. Which was my only homework I had today. Planning my spirit day outfits. "Hey Dad!" I called
"What Bi?" was Nico's response
"I need some help" I admitted
"You, the wonderful Bianca Kayla Solangelo, need help with a fashion design?" he asked in disbelief
"Yes, Yes. I admit that I even I cannot dream up EVERYTHING. Especially when it comes to spirit days." I had to really humble myself down to say those words
"You know themed outfits is more your Papa's thing kiddo, but I'll try. What's the theme?"
"Dress like your mother." I spat
"How can you participate in that?" he wondered in disbelief
"That's what I'm trying to figure out."
"Well, there are two options at the end of the day. One, you could wear your most gorgeous outfit and stun them all (but I don't really think they deserve that) or two, you could dress like a positive female role model.
"I'm going to dress like Reyna." I said, a determined look on my face. Reyna Avila Ramirez-Arellano was a warrior. Quite literally, too. She also saved Nico's life multiple times and was always stepping up to help me. If not for her, I may not have the wicked skills I have today.
The weekend came and went in a blur. I watched a new movie, worked on a dress I was making purely for fun, spent a ton of time making my (and a few other's) spirit week costumes. So did spirit week. On Monday, I was Reyna. Tuesday, Nico and Will (Will in the morning and promptly swapping to Nico at lunchtime), Wednesday I was Marie, Thursday I was Ashlyn and Friday was My favorite. Friday, I dressed as a little slimeball by the name of Octavian. He was a jerk, I was told and I heard he insulted Nico and Will several times. I turned out that Aiden was also dressed as the jerk. All was normal. Perfectly fine. Until Saturday.
I went to bed as normal. My hair was in a braid and was it's typical blonde color. Normal and regular. When I woke up, it was dark outside (not uncommon for this time of year, being early spring). I began brushing my hair and didn't notice anything out of the ordinary, at least not at first. That's when I realized my hair was a dark, ebony black.
A/N: Sorry this took longer than expected. I'm working on several stories, trying to get the next few chapter of Lost in the Duat and Without Your Light ready for publication. I promise I have not abandoned those fics!
