This is just an overarching idea of how the houses are set up and details behind the different areas throughout the Seven Kingdoms. Definitely looking for feedback and ideas for the story so please feel free to leave reviews if you are interested in a full blown story. This will be loosely based on the events that actually occurred in the books/show but will definitely have some of its own twists to keep it less predictable.

House Stark

The sigil of House Stark is the Mightyena, known for roaming in packs and knowing that the sum is greater than the parts that make it. Throughout history, the Starks have maintained the North and been one of the great houses of Westeros. Along with Zacian and Zamazenta, they have taken it upon themselves to guard the rest of the seven kingdoms from The Long Night. Mightyena are from the north beyond the wall, so whenever a Stark dies their Mightyena is sent north to live out its remaining days where it will find a new pack.

Lord of Winterfell:

Zacian and Zamazenta

These two are passed down eternally to the leader of Winterfell to be commanded; not owned. Used to guard the people of the north from all enemies of Westeros and an ally to the south by serving as the last defense from those beyond the wall. They only serve those who are deserving and have a moral and true heart. If they feel as though they are being used in a selfish way, they will attack and kill the lord so they are replaced with someone who is more fitting. Starks have ruled over Winterfell through its entire existence and has only needed to be dethroned once by the legendary wolves.

Eddard (Ned):

Lycanroc - Midday Form (Fang)

Mightyena (Shadow)

These are the two Pokémon that Lord Stark owns and commands. All Pokémon in Winterfell respect and will obey Eddard when commanded to do so. Lycanroc is his partner Pokémon who evolved from a Rockruff after years of training. Mightyena was given to him by his father, Rickard Stark on his 10th name day signifying that he is a true man of the Stark House. They have both seen real battle during King Robert's Rebellion. Mightyena has a significant scar across his face resulting in the dog missing his left eye.

Robb:

Absol (Nightmare)

Mightyena (Grey Wind)

Absol has become a strong Pokémon and formidable opponent due to the training he has received from Lord Eddard Stark's Pokémon. His Mightyena is named Grey Wind in honor of the descendants of the Starks: The Greystarks. He is a large Mightyena but often his immaturity gets in the way of victory. He is not battle tested but has shown to be a strong Pokémon nonetheless. Robb strives to be like his father and trains with him as well as his half-brother, Jon.

Jon:

Lucario (Luca)

Mightyena (Ghost)

Jon's Lucario is a great fighter although she is small. What she lacks in size she more than make up for it in speed and thought. She has trained consistently with Robb's and Ned's Pokémon and become a fierce competitor that relies on her wit as much as her strength. Although he is a bastard child of his father, the Lord of Winterfell insisted that Jon receive the house's sigil Pokémon Mightyena. Although, Jon did have to make a plea to rescue one whose color was different than the others. The kennel master was about to send the dog north due the Pokémon being so small until Jon rescued him. He has grown but still is smaller than Grey Wind and Shadow. However, he has a warrior's heart and will protect Jon to the end of the earth.

Sansa:

Vulpix (Vesta)

Poochyena (Lady)

Sansa received a Vulpix as her starter as a symbol. Eddard has always called her, "The Fire of Winterfell" so it seemed fitting to him. Vesta has not been battle tested besides the training that has been given to her by the Pokémon trainers in Winterfell. She will grow to become a Ninetails that will help protect Sansa as she is a Lady. Just as the men, all Starks receive the sigil Pokémon of their house when they turn 10. Lady, just as Vesta, is trained to fight by the trainers but will most likely not fight in battles. High born women typically do not fight with their Pokémon as it is not ladylike.

Bran:

Herdier (Snow)

Poochyena (Summer)

Herdier evolved from Lillipup and is Bran's partner Pokémon. Bran has done everything he could to be like his older brothers Robb and Jon. He practices with Snow and Summer every day although his Poochyena is just a pup and has a ways to go before evolving. Snow is very protective over Bran but has been trained well to stand down when commanded by his owner. Bran dreams of exploring the entirety of Westeros some day and wishes to become a knight.

Arya:

Zorua (Akela)

As of now, Akela is Arya's only Pokémon since she has not turned 10. Even though Arya is told that it is not appropriate for her to battle with her Pokémon, she finds low-borns in Winterfell that will practice with her. Akela is a nimble and strong fighter that uses her cunning nature and illusions to win battles. Arya often practices with her Pokémon to help it grow its illusion ability. Although she is young, Akela has been able to master her impersonations of Pokémon and people alike.

Rickon:

Rockruff (No name yet)

As Rickard is just a small child, he has not had a chance to train his Rockruff. His partner is a direct descendant from his father Ned's Lycanroc. For now, Rickon spends his time playing his Pokémon which has led Rockruff to become slightly untamed.

Catlin:

Swampert (Finn)

Seaking (Minisa)

Catlin received a Mudkip as her first Pokémon which has now evolved into her Swampert. Finn is very loyal and has started coming around to the cold North. Finn has protected Catlin however he has not fought in many battles. He has been formally trained in the Riverlands by some of the Tully trainers so he does have some experience. Catlin grew up with her brother, Edmund Tully and watched him battle in different tourneys and throughout the grounds so she has been able to learn some from him. She also sees her husband and her son battle often as well which has helped her stay keen. Her Seaking (the sigil Pokémon of House Tully) was given to her on her 10th name day and named Minisa after her late mother.

House Targaryen

The Targaryen's of Dragon Stone are an ancient house and the blood of the dragon. It is said that Dragons were extinct until Aegon the Conqueror found a Salamence egg. From there, Aegon set out to find as many Dragon Pokémon across Essos that he could. He was able to find more and set his conquest to Westeros to take the 7 kingdoms. With his Salamence (Balerion) he and his army of dragon riders won the iron throne and took Kings Landing easily. All of the high houses pledged fealty to the Targaryen name and named Aegon the King. Only Targaryen's (who are worthy) are able to control Dragon Pokémon making them a fiercely strong house and almost unbeatable in battle. When it is discovered that a new Targaryen is to be born, a dragon egg is marked for them. The pregnancy takes about as long as the egg takes to hatch. When a Targaryen dies, the dragon will fly their body back to old Valyria in Essos and never return. After Robert's Rebellion, it was thought that all dragons and dragon eggs were gone besides the dragons that were sent with Prince Viserys and Princess Daenerys when they escaped. As most houses take on two Pokémon, Targaryens only take the one. They believe that the power of the Dragon supersedes all others and it is unnecessary to own more than one.

Lord of Dragonstone:

Rayquaza

Rayquaza is the legendary dragon Pokémon that helped Aegon win his conquest when he came to Westeros. Since then, it has stayed faithful to the Targaryen house as long as it saw the leader to be fit. When Robert Baratheon revolted against the crown, Rayquaza left as he did not see King Aerys as a good ruler for the realm. Since then, Rayquaza has not been seen and no one knows if the God of the Sky will come back or not.

Viserys:

Fraxure (Vhagar)

Vhagar has a strong temperament and takes after his owner. Viserys was just a boy when he fled King's Landing but has grown into a man and is hell bent on taking back the throne from the usurper. He claims that he is the last dragon and the throne is his birthright after his older brother Rhaegar died at the Battle of the Trident when he was slain by Robert Baratheon and Xerneus. Vhagar had battled some in the past and was trained properly by the King's Trainers themselves. He is close to evolving into Haxorus.

Daenerys:

Dratini (Syrax)

Named after her hero Rhaenyra's dragon, Dany's Dratini is almost ready to evolve into Dragonair. Syrax is elegant and calm but is a formidable fighter. Unlike other houses, Targaryens think that all members of their house should be able to fight, however they should not sit on the throne. Dany learned from her late brother Rhaegar the ways to battle from his Dragonite, Vermithor. Dany knew her place but dreamt that she might one day become the Queen rather than her brother.

House Lannister

The Lannisters of Casterly Rock are the richest family in Westeros. The first Lannister, Lann the Clever tricked the Casterlys and took Casterly Rock for his own. The gold mines that the Rock is built upon supplies the Lannisters with all the wealth they will ever need. The Lannister sigil Pokémon is a golden Arcanine. The Lannisters are notorious for being a formidable force in wars as well as a great source of money for the kings. Unfortunately for the rest of the Seven Kingdoms, the crown has collected quite a large debt to the Lannisters. Not only that, Tywin Lannister (the Lord of Casterly Rock) has wed his daughter Cersei to Robert Baratheon, the new king after winning the rebellion. The Lannisters combined forces with the Baratheons to take King's Landing from the Mad King. Tywin remains Warden of the East and a strong ally to the crown.

Lord of Casterly Rock:

Entei

The black faced Entei has stood guard over the Lannisters for centuries. After being separated from his brother and sister, Raikou and Suicune, the lava Pokémon went on a rampage destroying the Western half of Westeros until King Tybolt Lannister (the first Lannister King long before Aegon's Conquest) was able to defeat him in battle creating respect for his house. Entei now is under the control of whoever sits as Lord of Casterly Rock, should they be a formidable leader.

Tywin:

Luxray (Gold Tooth)

Arcanine (Pyro)

Tywin Lannister is Lord of Casterly Rock and Warden of the East. He is seen as fierce commander in battle and has seen many fights of his own. Gold Tooth and Pyro have both been battle tested and are furious Pokémon that take mercy on no one. Gold Tooth is scratched and scarred but has never lost a battle. He only obeys Tywin and will protect him with his life. Tywin's Arcanine Pyro, the sigil Pokémon of House Lannister, is the largest Arcanine that has ever come through Casterly Rock. He is also a beast of a fighter and is the Pokémon that Tywin would ride into battle. The only Arcanine that were held by Lannisters had to be golden. There are thousands among thousands of Growlithe and Arcanine given to the army of the Lannisters that came out red. It was a rare site but the Lannisters believed the golden Arcanine were stronger and a gift from the Gods which made them so special.

Jaime:

Machamp (Brawn)

Arcanine (Wildfire)

Jaime is the oldest son of Tywin and the heir to Casterly Rock. He joined the Kings Guard after being knighted in the light of Seven but then betrayed the Mad King during Robert's Rebellion. He was granted immunity and continues to serve on the Kings Guard for Robert Baratheon. Being a knight, Jaime is revered as one of the strongest hand to hand combatants and Pokémon Trainers in the Seven Kingdoms. Brawn has been battle tested in tourneys but no so much in real combat. By the time the fighting reached King's Landing, Jaime had turned on the King so the battle was over before anything could happen. Wildfire is the son of Pyro. Although he is not full grown, he possesses the strength and ferocity of his father. Jaime is twins with his sister and Queen, Cersei.

Cersei:

Persian (Goldie)

Arcanine (Theia)

Cersei, now married to King Robert Baratheon, has always been obsessed with gold and other nice things. She was always quiet but watchful and learned about how to rule from her father. Persian goes everywhere with her, usually dormant however she can be quite the fighter when provoked. Theia, the twin to Jamie's Wildfire, is much smaller than her brother but still an admirable fighter. Neither have been truly battle tested and only fought with the Lannister Trainers. Cersei would not dare stoop so low to battle as she has always been destined to be a Queen of some sort.

Tyrion:

Liepard (Sphinx)

Arcanine (Bane)

Tyrion the dwarf has practically been exiled by his family especially his father. After Tywin's wife passed giving birth to the imp, the Lord of Casterly Rock couldn't stand the site of him. Still, he was a Lannister so he was gifted the Lannister sigil Pokemon, however it was red not gold, signifying that he was not a true Lannister in the eyes of Tywin. Liepard was sleek, sly and arrogant like his trainer. He had never seen real battle but learned the ways of mischief and manipulation as did Tyrion. The imp named is Arcanine "Bane" after what he heard so often: that he was the bane of his father's existence. Still, Tyrion's Arcanine was well trained and was a strong fighter. Bane was also looked down on by Tywin's and Jamie's golden dogs.

House Baratheon

The Baratheons of Storm's End had always been a loyal house to the Targaryens until Rhaegar Targaryen had disappeared with Lyanna Stark of Winterfell, Robert's betrothed. After Jon Arryn of the veil declined the command to kill Robert and Ned Stark, they raised their banners and joined forces to kill the Mad King. The Baratheons are known for their big builds and strong fighters as well as their headstrong personalities. They are easy to anger and will never turn down a fight. After the rebellion and the Mad King's death, Robert announced himself King of the Seven Kingdoms where all other houses bent the knee. He created an alliance with the Lannisters by wedding the Princess Cersei.

Lord of Storm's End

Xerneus

Xerneus has guarded over Storm's End for centuries and was originally the Durrandon's protector until Orys Baratheon married the last daughter of Argilac Durrandon and took the sigil and words of House Durrandon for himself. Xerneus is peaceful but helps to better the realm anyway it can. When King Aerys tried to burn down King's Landing, Xerneus joined forces with Robert's cause and helped in the war. The protector of Storm's End still resides in the Stormlands but would come to Robert if needed.

King of the Seven Kingdoms

Regirock, Regice & Registeel

Being King has its perks – one mainly being extra protection. Whomever holds the title of King will blindly receive the protection and care of the three Regis. They stand guard outside the three castle gates only to be commanded by the King and the head of the King's Guard (so long as it is in the King's best interest). They fought against Robert and his troops during the rebellion until the Mad King had been slain. After that they were dormant until Robert was crowned King, where they pledged fealty to him.

Robert:

Aggron (Ironhide)

Sawsbuck (Silvanus)

Robert is a large man, physically strong and easily aggravated. His Aggron takes very much after him while his Sawsbuck keeps more of a level head throughout battle. Some people say that in his armor, you can barely tell Robert and Ironhide apart. Aggron made a huge impact during Robert's Rebellion and was a fighting symbol to the rest of Westeros. Now, Robert doesn't have the time to battle but Ironhide stays with the King's Pokémon Trainers to battle and train with the other knights. Sawsbuck lives a more gallant life now and stays with King Robert wherever he goes.

Stannis:

Tyranitar (Titan)

Sawsbuck (Wendigo)

Stannis assisted Robert during his rebellion and is a well-respected general and fighter. He is smaller in stature than his brother Robert and slightly more reserved. Titan is as big as Ironhide and just as strong. Stannis and his Tyranitar level battlefields and destroyed entire armies on their way to King's Landing. His Sawsbuck, Wendigo was a clever fighter until he injured his leg. Now he is constantly with Stannis but is unable to battle. After taking over the Iron Throne, Robert sent Stannis to Dragon Stone to replace the Targaryen keep with one of his own.

Renly:

Electivire (Banshee)

Sawsbuck (Jade)

Renly is the youngest brother to Robert and currently the Lord of Storm's End. He is young but has been knighted in the light of the Seven. He has received much training himself as well as his Pokémon. Electivire is a strong but young fighter. Relying on his brute force, he usually falls for wittier Pokémon's traps during battle but usually can come back from his mistakes. Jade is an unusual Sawsbuck. Unlike others of its species, Jade never changes his appearance throughout different seasons and stays in his "spring" form. Jade is used more to fight than the Robert's and Stannis's Sawsbuck however and has become a strong ally to Renly.

Joffrey:

Litleo (Teostra)

Deerling (Gaia)

Joffrey is the oldest son of the King and the heir to the iron throne. Joffrey is much more similar to his mother, the Queen Cersei than that of his father. He is by nature a cruel boy who does not sympathize with Pokémon or anyone of a lower status than him. His Litleo is mean and untamed, constantly biting Joffrey's guards and random people. Although Joffrey wants him to be strong, Gaia is quite weak and timid. Joffrey constantly beat on him to the point he doesn't like coming around. Joffrey has never seen any combat outside of training with the knights of the King's Guard but thinks himself as one of the strongest boys his age. His tongue is sharper than his sword and often gets him in trouble with his father. He is betrothed to marry Sansa Stark of Winterfell when they come of age.

Myrcella:

Combee (Regina)

Myrcella is the only daughter of the King and betrothed to Trystane Martell. She is a sweet young girl who rarely gives thought to fighting and other worldly issues. She is accustomed to nice things and has been taught the ways of a lady from the Septa and her mother, the Queen. Combee is always with her and is soon going to evolve into Vespiquen, a Pokémon that is traditionally thought of as royalty. Regina now is quite weak but will triple in strength once she evolves.

Tommen:

Gallade (Ares)

Tommen is quite young and immature. He is the youngest of the King's children but has high ambition. When Tommen's Ralts evolved into Kirlia, his uncle Jaime gave him a rare Dawn Stone to use once Kirlia had been trained properly. Not understanding the ramifications of evolving a young Pokémon too soon, Tommen use the stone to evolve Ares later that day resulting in him becoming wild and uncontrollable. Ares has been working with the best trainers in King's Landing and is slowly coming along. However, now Tommen has been left without a Pokémon until Ares is ready to be commanded.

House Tyrell

The Tyrells of Highgarden are a noble family and the second wealthiest house in Westeros, behind the Lannisters. The Tyrells were loyal to the Mad King until his death, forcing Mace Tyrell to bend the knee to Ned Stark of Winterfell. The Tyrells make their claim by growing 80% of all crops in Westeros. The weather, land and technique that has been passed down to them are paramount to their success. Due to this they have taken accustom to using grass type Pokémon and water type. Their armies are strong due to the wealth they have accumulated, making the Tyrell house one of the strongest in the Seven Kingdoms. Mace Tyrell is the Warden of the South. Their sigil Pokémon is a Roserade.

Lord of Highgarden

Shaymin

Shaymin is the protector of Highgarden and the realm's crops. Its job consists of taking care of pollution and other threats to the food and plants of Highgarden. Shaymin is worshiped by the people of Highgarden like a God do it bringing good harvests year over year. The Lord of Highgarden is able to control the Pokémon somewhat, but it will never leave or forsake the land.

Mace:

Torterra (Atlas)

Roserade (Thorn)

Mace Tyrell, the Lord of Highgarden, was on the losing side of the war between King Robert's forces and the Mad King. Although the Tyrell army is strong and won some of the battles throughout the war. After the Mad King was slain, Mace bent the knee and King Robert allowed the Tyrell's to keep his place as Warden of the South and their castle at Highgarden. Torterra is an old Pokémon, just like Mace, and an established fighter. Although he is strong, he has slowed down with his age and had trouble fighting in the battles that had come from Robert. Thorn has never been much of a fighter but did do his part in the battles. He was on the back lines with Mace until it was clear the battle was going their way. When he does join fights, he often uses deception and his speed more than pure strength to win.

Loras:

Aegislash (Dagger)

Roserade (Lola)

Loras is one of the youngest and most decorated (for his age) knights in the Seven Kingdoms. He grew up in Highgarden working with some of the finest trainers and was able to win the King's Tourney. His Aegislash is equally as impressive and has taught Loras much about how a blade should be handled. Lola, his Roserade is less battle tested but has been taught by Highgarden's trainers as well. She is strong but usually chooses the path of least resistance. Ser Loras's goal is to become a knight on the King's Guard.

Margaery:

Serperior (Cypria)

Roserade (Nightshade)

Margaery, the youngest daughter of Mace, has been promised to Renly Baratheon. She is a cunning young lady who understands the games that the high lords play throughout the kingdoms. Just as she is, her Pokémon are cunning and clever. Although she doesn't battle herself in the open, she has hired experts in old Pokémon battling techniques to take special care of Cypria and Nightshade. Cypria is both strong and clever make her a difficult Pokémon to defeat in battle. Nightshade lacks in strength since she is young, however she is even cleverer than her Pokémon sister. She uses poison as a main tactic and tires out her opponents slowly.

House Arryn

The Arryn's sit high up in the mountains and are one of the great houses of Westeros. Jon Arryn currently serves as Hand of the King to his friend Robert Baratheon. The Arryn's strictly use flying type Pokémon and focus on being quick and agile. They are somewhat arrogant and use their impenetrable castle and guardian, Ho-Oh as a strong defense against the rest of the realm. The sigil Pokémon of their house is a Swellow, however not only Arryn's receive them. The family believes that it makes the Veil much stronger for all people of fighting age have a strong Pokémon so everyone gets one.

Lord of the Veil

Ho-Oh, Articuno, Zapdos & Moltres

Ho-Oh stands guard perched high in the mountains of the Veil, only interfering if the castle is under attack. It has sent the three legendary birds out across Westeros to survey the lands and help those in need. Articuno patrols from the Riverlands all the way north to the Wall; Zapdos stays near the coast lines and covers the seas; Moltres surveys everything south of the Riverlands to Dorn. History says that the three birds will step in and intervene when needed. Ho-Oh did not join any battles during Robert's Rebellion but did keep an eye on the Veil while Jon Arryn was away at war.

Jon:

Swellow (Talon)

Skarmory (Silverhawk)

Jon, current Hand of the King, is a mellow and unemotional person. He grew up friends with King Robert and Ned Stark. Jon is an excellent strategist and is beloved by everyone in the Veil. He has proven time and time again that he is willing to stand up to corrupt leaders and put the needs of his family, friends and the Veil above the interests of others. His Swellow, Talon is the only different colored one in the Veil. It is green and the quickest that anyone has ever seen. It helped tremendously during multiple battles of Robert's Rebellion. His Skarmory, Silverhawk also helped but stayed more at Jon's side as a ground soldier. With his metal feathers, he serves as Jon's eyes in the back of his head and protects him.

Robin:

Tailow (Redwing)

Robin is still a boy and successor to the Veil. So far, he is not much like his father and rarely wants to go outside to do manlike things. Mostly since his father has left to King's Landing, he has been eating and playing with dolls inside.

Lysa:

Seismitoad (Rana)

Seaking (Aqueen)

Lysa married into a strong family just as she wished she would. She has tried having more children with her husband, Jon but has been unsuccessful since having Robin. Lysa likes the quiet life and does everything to spoil her young son. Her Seismitoad from the Riverlands is quite large and strong but has rarely seen battle. He tries to stay sharp by battling with the trainers in the Veil but often loses patience due to speed of his opponents. Seaking comes from "Aqua" and "Queen" but Lysa couldn't say the two words separately as a child. Aqueen swims in a large pond Job made for her most of the time.
