Nanami was playing ball with Yuji, after being dragged into the game by both Gojo and Yuji, when he remembered something. He had meant to ask the boy about any relative coming to live here too, but had forgotten in the day following his little panic.

"Yuji" Nanami started to get his attention, kicking the ball towards him, "You told me you live alone, but do you really not have any relative coming later too?" he asked.

He noticed Gojo turning to look at him with a raised brow, although from the look on his face, he had probably been wondering about that too.

"No" Yuji replied, "No one is coming to live with me" he added as he kicked the ball towards Gojo, sending it way off, forcing the man to go get it. "I only have grandpa" he then stated, "But he can't come live with me because he's at the hospital".

Gojo was about to throw the ball at Nanami's back, only to freeze, looking back to Yuji. Nanami seemed as surprised as him, not expecting that. "In the hospital?" Gojo asked.

"Yes, grandpa's health isn't that good anymore and he broke his hip" Yuji explained, to which he frowned afterwards, "I told him to be careful when using the stairs" he pouted.

There was a silence afterwards, neither man sure what to reply to this. They hadn't really expected to learn Yuji had no one aside from someone currently in the hospital. Nanami ended up clearing his throat, about to offer some words of support, only for Yuji to start again.

"Oh! I wanted to go visit Grandpa this weekend!" the boy suddenly said, this time cheerful again. "Can Nanamin or Gojo take me to the hospital?" he then asked, "If it's not a bother" he then added a bit more quietly.

"Of cour–" Nanami started.

"Of course!" Gojo declared loudly at the same time, "How could we refuse cute Yuji anything? We will take you to see your grandpa, like this you can show him you are doing good" the man grinned.

Yuji then smiled at them "Thank you Nanamin! Thank you Gojo!" he said as he joined them again, laughing when Gojo ruffled his hair.

"It's really nothing" Nanami smiled back.

And so, once the weekend arrived both men were ready to take him to the hospital. Nanami was waiting for Yuji to be ready, holding a food container the boy had just passed him so he could lock his door. "You have everything?" Nanami asked as always, giving back the container when the boy nodded happily.

"Whatcha got there Yuji~" Gojo asked as he watched them getting down the stairs.

"I made some snacks for grandpa! I know he doesn't like the hospital food" the boy explained, showing proudly the food container to Gojo.

"How nice of you, Yuji" Nanami smiled at the boy, "I am sure he will appreciate it a lot".

This made the boy smile even more brightly, giggling as they started to make their way to the train station. Like usual, Gojo and Yuji were the ones mostly filling the silence as Nanami followed along.

On the train, they found a seat for Yuji on the edge of the seats, Gojo sitting next to him with his little tiger backpack on his lap. Like this Yuji could keep his food container on his own lap.

"Does Nanami wants to sit?" Yuji asked as he looked at the salaryman who was simply standing in front of them.

"Nanami is getting old after all" Gojo teased, which earned him a glare. They were about the same age after all, he wasn't that old yet.

"It's alright, keep your seat Yuji" Nanami replied with a small smile, "I'm used to standing on the train" he then assured him. He did it every day on the way to work.

Soon, Yuji was distracted again by Gojo who was showing him something on his phone. Probably cute pets if Nanami had to guess from Yuji's little whispers of "how cute" and "aww".

His guess was confirmed once they got off the train, Yuji immediately told him all about the cute animals and pets Gojo had shown him since Nanami couldn't see. "I can show you later if you want" Gojo laughed, to which Nanami silently rolled his eyes. "I'll trust Yuji's words, I am sure they were very cute" Nanami simply replied.

Soon they reached the hospital, Yuji leading them to the reception desk. The lady greeted them with a smile, looking between both men at first. Really, neither of them had asked Yuji for his grandpa's name, so they couldn't really state why they were here.

Gojo then gently took the boy's food container while Nanami crouched down to pick him up, the boy greeting the lady once he was in sight. Recognition lit the young lady's face, greeting the boy just as cheerfully as he did. Clearly, this was not the first time the boy had come here before.

"Did Yuji come to visit his grandpa again?" she asked, to which the boy nodded.

"I made his favourite snacks too" Yuji added while whispering and giggling, to which the lady chuckled too.

"Are you Yuji's guardians?" she then asked Nanami, to which the man paused a little. "Yes," he decided to reply, unsure how to explain he and Gojo were just two random neighbours in his building without any actual legal guardianship over him. He felt like it would probably sound weird.

"This explains why none of our calls was picked up from the registered number then" she commented, looking something up on her computer. "We could register another one if needed" she then added.

"I don't have a phone" Yuji then commented, which made both men turn to him. He had no phone? What was Yuji supposed to do if he were in a situation needing him to call someone?

"I… can give you mine" Nanami offered politely, playing the guardian card.

He didn't want to intrude into the grandfather's life, but it was better than a phone number that no one picked up. It felt important that Yuji could receive news about his grandpa. With that, he gave his number to the lady, before they finally asked for a room number.

Once this was settled he finally let Yuji down again, the boy half leading them to the right room. Gojo and Nanami both stopped outside the door not sure if they should go in. It was, after all, Yuji's precious time with his grandpa. They could both wait for him to finish enjoying his time with him.

"Do you plan to stay for more than an hour?" Nanami asked, which Yuji seemed to think about for a moment.

"Maybe? I don't know" the boy admitted.

The salaryman hummed at this. They couldn't just wait in the hallway for hours on end either. "Gojo, give me your number" Nanami ended up asking as he took his own phone out.

"Oh~, I didn't know Nanami was so forwards~" the man replied, laughing when he saw the look given to him, before telling Nanami his number.

When it was saved into his phone, the older man crouched down to Yuji's level, showing him how to call them. "Gojo is the one contact with a clown next to his name" he explained, ignoring the protest he heard from the other man. "And here you can call him, got it?" he asked to which Yuji nodded.

Nanami assumed it would be alright then. Plus, if Yuji were to forget how to use his phone, he believed his grandpa should be able to work a cell phone at least to make a call.

"You can call me when you want to go back home" Gojo smiled.

With that, Yuji carefully pocketed the phone in his little backpack, waving at them before going inside. Nanami couldn't help the smile on his lips when he heard Yuji excitedly greet his grandpa.

The salaryman then turned around, ready to just go and maybe find somewhere to sit down and maybe get a coffee.

"You're stuck with me now if you want to get Yuji's call~" Gojo said as he followed him, making Nanami sigh. "I know a nice café near the hospital, if you want to grab something to eat while we wait" he then suggested.

Nanami looked at him for a moment, Gojo smiling at him expectantly. Something in him told him the man already knew he would accept his suggestion.

"As long as they sell other things than sweets," he said. This made Gojo's grin grow even wider, already taking the lead, ready to guide him. "Of course, there's more than sweets!".

And Gojo hadn't lied, the café was indeed close to the hospital.

The salaryman decided to grab himself a sandwich and a coffee. He was not all that surprised when Gojo only ordered desserts and sweets. It made his teeth ache only looking at his plate.

They took a seat near the window, from which Nanami was still able to see the hospital. Yuji would really not need to wait for too long when he would call them. They ate mostly in silence, Gojo talking nearly for the both of them, even though his neighbour was clearly not really listening to him at the moment.

Soon, as he was finishing his own lunch, he got lost in his own thoughts. "You seem very pensive" Gojo commented with a grin, "Wait, let me guess" he then said before Nanami could reply to him, leaning back on his chair. "It's about Yuji?".

"He needs a phone" Nanami commented, leaning back too, taking a sip from his coffee. "He needs one in case of emergency and if he ever gets lost, he would be able to call for help like that" he added.

He had thought the young boy had some type of phone when he moved in. All he could assume was that the one used in his previous house was left at said house, for some reason. It was likely a landline, so it didn't quite help the problem of Yuji not being able to call for help if he was out of his house.

How come the boy had moved next door with so little? And with no one either!

"Yeah, I think the same" Gojo admitted, poking at his dessert again. "I was thinking we should get him one" he then suggested, sounding a bit more serious than he usually does.

The idea had already crossed Nanami's mind, although he hadn't thought Gojo would straight up also suggest buying one himself.

"We could go get one" Nanami suggested, Gojo arching a brow, before smiling.

"How rare of you to suggest doing something together" the man laughed.

This made Nanami want to roll his eyes, looking outside again instead. "It's for Yuji" he pointed out before drinking more coffee, hearing Gojo chuckle more at his words.

They chatted some more, Nanami keeping the conversation going as to not just sit there in silence until Yuji called them back.

At some point, Gojo's rant about a show he had been watching recently was cut short when his phone started ringing, making him smile again when he looked at the screen. "Yuuuji~" he answered, humming a little as he seemed to be listening to what the boy was telling him.

"We'll come to get you then, we're very close by" he replied while already standing up.

They took care of their empty plates, making their way back to the hospital. When they finally got back to the room, they were both surprised when the boy suddenly grabbed their hands, dragging both men inside.

This left them standing near the door, Yuji looking proud of himself as he smiled. "Grandpa wanted to meet you two!" Yuji explained.

If they were to be honest, both men had thought it was kind of expected really. They were two older men taking care of yuji, without being his guardian nor being paid to do so. Anyone would likely want to make sure their son, or grandson, was safe with people taking care of him.

"Nice to meet you, Mr Itadori" Nanami politely greeted with a bow. He sighed when he heard Gojo giving a way more casual greeting.

"So these two are the men you were talking about" the older man simply commented.

"Yes," Yuji cheerfully confirmed, before excusing himself to the bathroom.

This left Gojo and Nanami to stand there in silence as the older man stared at them both. His stare did stay on Gojo for longer, looking probably a bit less reliable than Nanami. The sunglasses inside probably didn't help either.

"Yuji doesn't have any relative aside from me" the man stated bluntly, taking a look at the bathroom door, "An old acquaintance said he had a room for him, so he wouldn't need to be by himself in a big house". Nanami only nodded at the statement, now understanding a bit better how come Yuji was all by himself.

"Yuji told me you two have been looking after him" he then mentioned, "He seems to be doing very good right now and is happy".

The man then turned to Nanami. "Mr Nanami, you look like a very responsible and trustworthy man, could I ask you to keep looking over him? Until I can get out of the hospital, that is" the man then asked.

Nanami was a bit taken by surprise by the sudden request. He wasn't exactly expecting him to trust him so easily. "Of course, I'll make sure Yuji stay safe and has what he needs" he assured the man. This seemed to please the older man who looked a bit more relaxed now.

"I am also a responsible and trustworthy person" Gojo commented while pointing at himself, only to have Yuji's grandpa give him a blank stare, making Gojo scoff. "I'll also help Nanami" he still declared.

There wasn't more time to argue over Gojo's trustworthiness, as Yuji joined them back again, going to pick up his backpack. He also gave back to Nanami his phone, thanking him for letting him borrow it.

He then turned to his grandpa with an expectant look in his eyes, the man sighing at his staring. "Go home now, they seem good enough" he simply replied, to which the boy smiled brightly.

They greeted the man farewell, before making their way out. Yuji walked between them, holding Nanami's hand while excitedly talking about his visit with his grandpa that day.

When they finally got home, both Yuji and Gojo hung around his house, chatting away and playing games together.

Nanami got the seal of approval from grandpa Itadori (๑˃ᴗ˂)ﻭ !
