Levon, Bluey, and Bingo arrived at the picnic blanket where their mum and dad were waiting under a huge, shady, tree. There was a light breeze to help the Heeler Family cool down on a otherwise not hot, but warm and just slightly humid day. Bandit was laying down on the blanket with his hands behind his head, lost in his own world of thoughts and relaxation. Chilli was digging through the Picnic Basket to get the food they brought, she pulled out some Sausages on buns. " Okay, tomato sauce for Bluey, Bingo and Hot sauce for Levon. " Chilli said as she handed her children their sausages as they were waiting patiently.
As Chilli and Bandit got their sausages with their favorite toppings and sauces, Bluey and Bingo had already began to dig in, but before Levon could eat. "Thanks mum and dad." he said to Chilli and Bandit with a smile on his face. Bluey and Bingo both stopped eating for a second. "Yeah, thanks mum and dad!" They both thanked their parents with sauce on their faces. Chilli and Bandit both smiled. "You're welcome kids." Chilli said acknowledging her kids appreciation for what her and husband do for them. "Now, tuck in kids." Bandit said as he wanted his and his wife's children to eat and not for the food to waste. "Cheers." Levon replied as he took his first bite of his sausage with his favorite spicy sauce on it. Bluey and Bingo were already half way finished with their food as they looked at their parents. "Cheers!" The Heeler exclaimed following their son and brothers example, raising their sausages like glasses before chowing down on them.
After they finishing their food and cleaning up, The Heeler Family was laying down on the picnic blanket. Levon lightly patted his stomach as a sign that his stomach was full. "I can't believe you can eat food in general with that hot sauce on it mate. I mean I like spicy, but you are on a whole other level." Bandit said impressed by his sons love for spicy food. "I can't explain it Dad. I just love food that has a kick to it." Levon replied shrugging his shoulders. Bandit couldn't help but laugh as he knew it will always be a mystery to him. "I know why dad! It's because Levon is a super hero!" Bingo called out as she was playing with her toy Floppy. "What made you come up with that conclusion Bingo?" Chilli asked chuckling at her daughters wonderous imagination. "Well, because Levon saved Bluey from getting hit with a ball." Bingo replied brushing some bits of grass of her toy. Bandit and Chilli looked at their son with surprised expressions. "Woah mate, is this true?" Bandit asked wanting to confirm Bingo's story. Before Levon could answer his fathers' question. "It is true Dad! He saved me from getting it." Bluey exclaimed backing up her sisters claim. "Yes Dad it's true, I could sense the ball was coming and I just caught it..." Levon finally kind of explained. "He had his backed turned, so there's no way he could've seen it coming" Bluey added, filling in the details of Bingo's story. Bandit and Chilli were stunned. "Good job Levon." Chilli said placing her hand on her sons shoulder, proud of him for protecting his sister. "Maybe you are a super hero." Bandit said chuckling. "I don't know about that." Levon said chuckling at the idea. "Well, even if you aren't a super hero. You're still a super hero to me." Bluey said with smile sitting down next to her brother and leaning herself against him. Levon smiled placing his arm around his sister in a form of a side hug. Not wanting to ruin
As it was the beginning to become late in the afternoon. Chilli and Bandit were laying on the picnic basket, watching the clouds float by while their kids played. "Today has been a great day." Bandit said breaking the silence. "Yeah, it sure has." Chilli replied cozying up and facing her husband. "I don't think anything could ruin this day or this moment." Bandit said as he closed his eyes and leaned in as Chilli did the same. As the couples lips met, the unmistakable sound of thunder boomed and the once sunny sky became covered by a blanket dark storm clouds. Bandit and Chilli open their eyes looking up at the sky and knew rain was about to come and water the crops of this city. Bandit and Chilli once again looked into each others eyes. "We better get the kids." Bandit said stating the obvious with a smile, but also saddened as he cupped his wife's face rubbing his thumb back and forth. "Yeah we should." Chilli replied with a smile as well, but feeling the same as their little romantic moment was ruined. The couple continued to look into each others eyes in silence as what felt like an eternity.
Suddenly the silence was broken by the sounds of laughter and screams of their children. Chilli and Bandit looked and saw Levon running with Bluey and Bingo underneath his arms. "ON YOUR FEET SOLDIERS! WE! ARE! LEAVING!" Their son cried jokingly as he ran past them with their daughters laughing and screaming playfully. Chilli and Bandit both couldn't help, but smile and laugh at the children's actions. She looked at her husband as she grabbed the picnic basket. "Come on, I'll meet you in the car." as she ran to the car. Bandit made sure everything was inside the blanket and he saw Bluey and Bingo toys were in it. He grabbed all four corners and threw the blanket on his back and ran to the car. By the time he got to the car, Bandit threw the blanket in the boot of the family vehicle and ran to the front of the right driver's side. As he got in the car and caught his breath quickly, he looked around the Heeler Mobile, he saw everyone was here was inside. Levon was grabbing towels out of the suitcase he packed back at the house, he handed towels to everyone and dried himself off. "Okay, is everyone here and accounted for?" Chilli asked. "Yeah Mum, I'm good." Bingo said as she dried Floppy off with her towel. "Wait!" Bluey cried out. "What's wrong sis?" Levon asked concerned for his sister. "I can't find Polly Puppy!" Bluey replied worried. "Did you check the picnic blanket?" Bandit asked knowing full well Bluey's toy was in there. "Dad, I just checked she's not in there." Levon replied turning looking his father and looking him right in the eye. "Oh, she must've fallen out as I was running to the car, sorry squirt." Bandit said feeling really guilty as no father wants to disappoint or hurt his kids.
Bluey whimpered as she felt she would never see her favorite toy, Polly Puppy ever again. "Honey, it's okay she'll turn up." Chilli said as she turned around in her seat and placed her hand on her daughter's knee. Levon saw the tears in his sisters eyes and knew what he had to do, he grabbed his sisters hands and sniffed her hands. "Levon, what are you doing?" Bluey asked confused by her brothers actions. Levon kissed her hands and looked her in the eyes. "You have my word as your brother, that I will get Polly back." he said as climbed over Bluey to get out, as he cracked the door. "Mate..." Bandit said making Levon turn his head to look at him. "I can go find Polly." Bandit finished. Levon smiled "I know, but I'll find her faster. Give me about a minute." "Okay, be careful." Bandit replied.
Levon got out and closed the door to the family car. He ran back to the spot by the big tree, where they had their lunch. He looked around as the rain was coming down hard and it was almost hard to see through. Meanwhile, Bandit, Chilli, and Bingo were trying to cheer Bluey up. "Bluey, if it'll make you feel better. You can have Floppy until Levon finds Polly." Bingo said as she offered her favorite toy as an attempt to cheer her older sister up. Chilli smiled at how much love was in her youngest daughter's heart. Bandit's mind was elsewhere worrying about his son. It had only been 30 seconds since Levon left to find Polly in this mess. "Come on mate... Come on." as his fingers tapped the steering wheel. "Okay that's it. I can't wait much longer." Bandit said as he unbuckled his seatbelt getting ready to find his son in this mess.
Before Chilli could protest, the right side door opened as Levon had return with... "POLLY PUPPY!" Bluey cried out in pure joy as she hugged her wet doll. Levon closed the back door, grabbed a towel and the two large blankets from the boot of the car, he climbed inside the boot and closed it. He dried himself and gave one of the big blankets to his parents and one for him and his sister to share, in case they needed to warm up. "Levon sat in between his younger sisters and caught his breath. "I'm glad I got to her before she got torn. Levon said he finished drying his hair. "Thank you! You're the best big brother in the world Levon!" Bluey cried out in joy, hugging him. Levon smiled that he got his first younger sister to smile again and saw the tears that once stained that sweet pretty face, were now gone and replaced with tears of joy. "Well done sweetheart" Levon heard his mother say. "Good job, mate." He also heard his father call out as well. Bingo patted him on the arm and all the praise he got caused the wolf preteen's tail to wag. "All right family, let's right home." Bandit said as he started the Heeler mobile and drove home through the rain. Levon soon realized his arm wasn't itching anymore and took as a sign that all this chaos was about to end.
(I hope you all enjoyed this chapter. In case you're wondering Levon isn't a Super Hero or an Alien. He just has abilities that in the real world would think of him stronger then your average human except with dogs...I'll see you all in the next chapter.)
