The next day Shelby and Rachel woke in what the mother could only consider their 'usual' way now. Rachel bouncing on top of her singing her little 'my mommy' song before Shelby peppers kisses all over her little peanut hearing laughter fill the room.

They ate breakfast, took a bubble bath after Rachel spilled half her breakfast on herself instead of getting it into her mouth and then they got dressed for the day. Rachel loved having so many different options for clothes, it's like nothing she's ever experienced before.

She loved being with her mommy, there was no yelling here, there was always hugs and kisses, food for what her mommy calls her talking tummy—she's allowed to keep her binky, get as many bubbas she wants, and listen to her mommy sing. The most important thing that Rachel realized is that her mommy never leaves her alone like her daddy used to. She loved her mommy so much.

Before they played together with all of Rachel's toys, Shelby sat her down and tried to explain what a nana and papa were. She tried so hard to avoid using the term dad or daddy, but to help Rachel understand, it's all Shelby could think of.

She felt Rachel tense when using the word however, when she explained that they were her mommy and daddy, Shelby saw something in Rachel's eyes—she wasn't sure if it was recognition, some sort of clarity, or if things were going to turn into a huge meltdown…either way, Shelby was prepared.

"Dey no ad wike me daddy doe… pa-pa," Rachel said the word, but it wasn't a word she was used to so it was a bit broken, "…no ad?"

"No baby, papa isn't bad. He is so excited to meet you, just like nana. They are very nice and if you want it to be just you and mommy, we can go upstairs with some of your toys, or put on a movie in my room and snuggle together okay?"

Rachel seemed to contemplate everything her mommy was saying. There was something that her mommy got wrong though, "No mommy, oys eady in oom," she laughed.

Shelby played along, "Silly mommy, I forgot there are already some of your toys in mommy's room so we don't need to bring any up there. You're so smart, baby girl."

Rachel crashed into Shelby with an 'oomph' and they snuggled together—it seemed from their little conversation Rachel understood enough of what was happening. Once Rachel was sitting with her toys while her new favorite Bubble Guppies was playing on the TV, Shelby called her parents.

To say the parents were thrilled would be an understatement—they could not wait to meet their littlest grandbaby and be their for their daughter. They apparently already had bags packed and ready to go because like they said on the phone, whenever Shelby needed them, they'd be there.

4:15pm came around sooner than either of the younger Corcoran's thought—between Shelby trying to make sure the house was clean while Rachel was taking her nap, them playing together while she was awake, and trying to decide what to make for dinner the day flew by.

Max called up letting her know the elder Corcoran's had arrived and Shelby said to send them up. She knew Joe would help them with their luggage even though her father would insist he's got it and felt better knowing he'd be with them even though the crazy paparazzi couldn't even get into the lobby of her building.

"Okay baby girl, nana and papa are here. You ready?" Shelby asked, squatting down to look Rachel in the eyes as she spoke. Rachel was currently playing with her blocks—they were pink, of course, and one of Rachel's favorites. She had two sets, one in Shelby's bedroom and one downstairs. Instead of cleaning them up, Shelby picked Rachel up and kissed her temple.

"Dey no ad?"

"No baby, they aren't bad I promise," Shelby kissed her again and tried to calm herself as she felt Rachel start to shake. I hope she'll see how families are supposed to be and come out of her little shell Shelby said to herself as she felt Rachel fold herself up in her arms once again.

Shelby started swaying back and forth while singing to calm her little body—slowly, Rachel relaxed enough so Shelby could rub her back while the baby kept her face very hidden in Shelby's neck and behind the curtain of her mothers long brown locks.

Before her parents could knock and scare Rachel, Shelby opened the door and smiled—Katherine and Thomas's smiles were huge until they physically saw how small and scared Rachel was. At first they thought she was asleep in Shelby's arms until Rachel continued to try and make herself smaller and smaller.

"Shh, shh, shh, mommy's got you baby," Shelby whispered in Rachel's ear. "Come in," she looked at her parents who almost looked too frightened to step inside the house until Shelby moved back.

Joe left once the luggage was physically inside the door and did his signature wave to Shelby who smiled and nodded at him as a thanks. "Why don't we go play with your blocks love bug, can you show mommy how high you can stack them?"

Shelby attempted to get Rachel out of her shell and watched as little brown eyes locked on her green ones. "Wif mommy," she whispered.

"Yeah baby, mommy will play blocks with you," she kissed her temple and then looked back at her parents who had yet to take a step further into her house.

She looked over her shoulder at them as she walked into the living room and said, "Help yourself to anything in the fridge, I still haven't figured out what I'm going to make for dinner but we can decide that in a bit. I'm hoping with a little distraction, we'll get there."

Her parents nodded and after Shelby and Rachel were content in the living room, they moved into the kitchen giving them a clear view of the two of them together. Rachel sat in Shelby's lap stacking her blocks but kept turning around to look at her mommy who would nod or take a block at add it to the stack. Thomas pulled out his phone and recorded them together—it was too cute not too.

The blocks knocked over and Rachel burst out laughing which caused Shelby to laugh as well, "Was that so silly? You're so cheeky."

Rachel stood up and tried to 'pull' Shelby up too by grabbing two of her fingers, leading her over to her little table and chairs where the tea set was set up—it was something Rachel was really getting the hang of and truly loved. "Pea parpee mommy? Oo ee da pea in der?" Rachel showed Shelby the tea pot and Shelby played along.

"Wow, look at all that tea in there—it looks so yummy. Can mommy have some please?"

Rachel was giddy with excitement and ran around the table to pour some in her mommy's cup then poured some for her furry 'friends' that were in the other seats. Rachel suddenly looked up when Katherine slowly approached the living room and practically leapt into her mothers arms.

"You're okay love bug—that's nana, she's my mommy. Can you say hi?" Shelby nodded to her mother signaling for her to sit on the couch that was close enough to the little table to where they could see each other but not too close.

Rachel looked at the woman and studied her—she looked like her mommy but her hair wasn't the same color. What Rachel didn't realize was that it's because she's much, much older than Shelby and her brown hair was long gone.

Out of all the Corcoran children, Shelby looked the most like both her parents. She had her mothers luscious brown locks, the same jaw lines, lips, and her fathers sparkling green eyes instead of her mothers hazel. Her fathers face was rounder which her other siblings seemed to get, but not Shelby—she was definitely her mothers mini with her fathers eyes.

From what Shelby could already see, it seemed like Rachel was going to be the same way—her mini with brown eyes. Those brown eyes were so expressive though, so beautiful, so perfect: everything about Rachel was perfect. Then again, Shelby was biased but that's besides the point.

Each of her siblings, besides Lexie because she doesn't have children all have their mini—it must be a Corcoran thing. We make our own little mini.

After tilting her head to both sides and examining the woman who was smiling at her, Rachel finally decided to shyly say, "Hi" with a little wave of her hand.

Katherine felt the tears welling in her eyes but didn't let them fall. This was an experience like no other, one she would cherish forever, "Hi sweet pea, I'm so happy to finally meet you."

Rachel looked up at her mother who was also smiling then back at the older woman who was apparently her 'nana'—she wasn't sure about this whole nana thing, but she seemed nice. "Oo pay pea parpee, me ov dis oun?"

Katherine looked to Shelby for some help; Shelby had spoken with her parents about the fact it was evident neither Leroy nor Hiram taught Rachel much of anything so deciphering what Rachel was saying wasn't always the easiest. Shelby didn't know if it was because she's her mother, because she has so many nieces and nephews, or if she just 'got it' but the mother seemed to always know what her daughter was saying.

"Rachel's asking if you'll have a tea party with us and telling you how she'll move one of her friends so you can sit down too."

Shelby was already internally laughing because these little chairs were not comfortable for her, so she wasn't sure if it was a good idea for her mother to sit in one but it looked like she was going to try anyways. Oh I wish I had my camera out she thought to herself.

"I would love to have a tea party with you and mommy," Katherine said, waiting for Rachel to move her furry friend before truly stepping over into her space. Rachel went back into her mothers lap instead of her own chair and watched as Katherine sat down in the chair.

"Dis my mommy," Rachel said quietly, claiming her mother by tightening her grip.

"That is your mommy, you're right." Katherine forgot about Rachel's 'possessive' nature but found it to be adorable.

Shelby stifled a laugh watching her mother sit in the small chair yet at the same time, it was such a precious moment for her and Rachel. Her baby was 'accepting' her nana into her little world which was a big step and Shelby felt the pride radiating through her.

Shelby saw her father out of the corner of her eye taking a picture and was so thankful not only for this moment to be documented for Rachel and her mother, but for her own personal gratification of seeing her mother in one of these tiny chairs. Rachel was pouring nana some tea and Shelby wasn't sure if Thomas was snapping pictures of taking a video—either way, it was great.

After another 10 minutes of Rachel babbling away with only Shelby adding to the conversation seeing as Katherine had no idea what was being said, Thomas slowly made his way into the living room as well. He sat in the chair farthest away from the girls tea party and was content to watch his girls. Seeing Shelby with Rachel in person was something he didn't have words for—watching his wife so happy always made him happy too.

Eventually Rachel saw Thomas and buried her face into Shelby's chest reverting into herself again. Shelby tried to apologize to her father but he waved it off—he didn't take offense. Of course he wanted to snuggle his granddaughter up like his 8 others, but Rachel wasn't like the others.

Thomas decided to sit down on the floor so he was lower in height than Rachel to appear less intimidating—once anyone got to know him, he truly was the biggest teddy bear but Rachel didn't know that.

He saw them still playing with the tea set and started to stack some blocks. Rachel saw this and watched him carefully—he seemed to really know how to build things that Rachel wanted to learn how to do too. Of course, Shelby knew how to do that as well but she wanted Rachel to learn with her. That being said, Shelby knew what her father was doing and was grateful.

Katherine watched as Rachel intently stared at what her mommy said was her 'papa', who wasn't bad, make a bridge with her blocks. She slowly turned her entire body to watch her papa build instead of playing with her tea set and nana.

Rachel didn't really understand how to interact with more than one person at a time because she's never done it before—Shelby figured this was the case just from the four days they've been reunited but wasn't too worried about that right now. It's not as if her parents were going to be offended by a baby not paying attention to them.

Thomas knew Rachel was staring at him and smiled, he even knew that she had shifted in Shelby's lap to get a better look at what he was doing. He didn't however look up because he didn't want to startle her. Rachel would come to him on her terms and that was fine, or she wouldn't and that was fine too.

Shelby and Katherine smiled at each other but Shelby quickly looked away when she saw tears forming in her mothers eyes—she knew if she saw her mothers tears she would cry too; and even if they were happy tears Rachel wouldn't understand.

Rachel started to squirm in her mommy's lap then looked up at her, "What is it baby?" Shelby whispered knowing this is how her daughter communicated when there were other people.

Rachel just pointed towards her blocks and Shelby decided to get out of the little chair and sit with Rachel on the floor so they were a little closer, but not too close. Rachel liked this—she wanted to see but was too afraid to go too close to her papa alone just in case he yelled.

Rachel grabbed two of Shelby's fingers and started to pull her up as Rachel sat on her knees in front of Shelby. "Do you want to go closer and see what papa is building love bug?"

"Eah," Rachel whispered and nodded.

"Okay, let's go." They both crawled a bit closer, Shelby making sure she kept her two fingers accessible to Rachel who had them in a deadlock. The closer they got, the more Shelby could feel Rachel shaking and her heart broke.

Suddenly, Rachel crashed into Shelby with an 'oomph' her entire body trembling, "No ell mommy me no ad."

Thomas stopped building the blocks and sat back while Katherine's tears finally fell seeing how scared Rachel was. "Nobody is going to yell baby, and you are not bad. You're such a good girl, you're mommy's perfect little angel," Shelby whispered although it was loud enough for both her parents to hear because Rachel had started to cry.

"Shh, shh, shh, mommy's got you baby," Shelby rocked back and forth humming songs from Moana the movie they watched before nana and papa got there.

I'm going to kill Hiram for scaring my baby so much. She can barely function around men and only tolerated Joe and Mike because I was holding her against my chest and they weren't visible to her. I could literally throttle him for scaring my baby this much—she's shaking in fear.

As Rachel calmed down, Shelby whispered something in her ear that only the baby could hear and made her giggle. It was a good change in the tense atmosphere of the living room—the grandparents were so proud of their daughter and couldn't imagine what she went through if this was how Rachel reacted to everyone or anything new like she had described on the phone calls with them.

"I think I can knock it down first, baby," Shelby teased, tickling Rachel's sides as she squirmed in her mothers arms. Katherine and Thomas knew what was going to happen, Shelby was trying to show Rachel that even if she knocked down the blocks that Thomas worked 'so hard on' he wouldn't yell or be upset.

"Me mommy!" Rachel's little feet kicked as Shelby was now up on her knees holding Rachel who obviously couldn't reach the floor being so small. Shelby took a calming breath and turned the baby around hoping she would focus on the blocks and not be afraid again.

Once Rachel was turned around, she squirmed to get to the blocks faster than Shelby who 'tried' to get there first and successfully knocked them down. "You beat mommy! You're such a cheeky little monkey," Shelby smiled at her.

Rachel timidly looked up at her papa who smiled and said in the softest voice possible, "Oopsies daisy's, can you help me build it again?"

Rachel cocked her head and looked at the man waiting for him to yell, she even quirked an eyebrow a little to which Thomas had to bite his lip to not laugh. She looked exactly like Shelby, it was uncanny really. He picked up a block and started to build it again and then handed two to Rachel—one for each of her little hands, "I think it's a three person job, think your mommy will help us?"

Rachel looked up at Shelby who nodded, "ee elp," the baby confirmed and Thomas smiled. It was Katherine's turn to take some photos of the three of them—she was so happy and so sad at the same time.

Deciding it would be best to keep busy and not let her emotions get the best of her, she made the executive choice to start dinner for everyone. After four attempts to get out of the little chair, Katherine finally found herself able to walk into the kitchen trying to not glare back at Shelby and Thomas who were laughing at her because she couldn't get out of the chair on her first try. The only reason she didn't glare was because of Rachel, she didn't want to scare her.

Rachel didn't call either grandparent by name during dinner or the little amount of time after dinner before Shelby took her upstairs for her bedtime routine, but she didn't close herself off either. She wasn't as open as she was with just her mommy, but her little personality did come through a bit.

The grandparents heard multiple giggles, saw many smiles, and watched her make a complete mess of her shirt because Shelby didn't know how Rachel would react if she took it off for dinner like they normally did.

What Rachel did notice was that nobody yelled—her mommy never got upset if she made a mess, but she wasn't sure about these new people. Shelby seemed to sense this because she whispered into Rachel's ear that it was always okay if messes were made because they can always be cleaned up.

She whispered it loud enough for the grandparents to hear and Thomas intentionally spilt a bit of spaghetti sauce on his shirt and once again said, "Oopsies daisy's, that's what the washing machine is for."

Rachel didn't know what a washing machine was—she thought the laundry room was a magical room where new clothes appeared because she's never worn an outfit twice since being with her mommy which was something really new for her. She did giggle at her papa though, he was a grownup and made a mess and nobody yelled at him…so it must be okay.

While Katherine and Thomas cleaned up the kitchen, Shelby and Rachel took a bath. After their little nightly routine, Shelby carried a clean pajama clad Rachel back downstairs to 'say goodnight' and to make her bubba. Shelby had been using her pump again today while Rachel napped and there still wasn't anything so a bottle would have to do.

She could tell Rachel was exhausted—she had a big day for such a little girl. Katherine and Thomas were sitting on the couch relaxing, Katherine was reading a book and Thomas had the TV on low but Shelby had no idea what he was watching as she didn't typically watch much TV. Shelby walked into the kitchen and made a bottle and then walked into the living room.

"We're going to bed," Shelby said, knowing her parents would understand that Shelby would be back down once Rachel was asleep so they played along. "We just wanted to say goodnight, right baby girl?"

Rachel tucked herself further into her mommy and yawned causing the grandparents to smile. "Goodnight sweet pea, have sweet dreams."

"Goodnight pumpkin," Thomas kept it simple.

As Shelby started to walk away Rachel gave a little wave and the grandparents smiled at her—they had already spoke about their littlest grandbaby for a while during the time Shelby was going through their nighttime routine. Katherine had hopefully gotten out all her tears as she didn't want to cry when Shelby needed her—Thomas was there to support his wife per usual but did shed some of his own tears as well.

A bottle and two songs later, Rachel was sound asleep. "I love you so much baby girl, have sweet dreams my perfect angel."

Shelby carefully extracted herself from Rachel and put the pillows in place once again—this is the first time Shelby would be going downstairs while Rachel slept which honestly made her a little nervous but she knew she could run up the stairs extremely quickly should her baby need her.

Once she got downstairs, she 'pulled a Rachel' and collapsed into her fathers arms as her mother sat on the other side of them rubbing her back while she cried. She had shed a lot of tears these past few days but having her parents physically here, she felt like she could actually let it all out. She felt safe in her fathers arms while her mother was there telling her they'd figure it out together, how she wasn't alone, how proud they were of her…

At one point, Thomas looked down to make sure Shelby was still awake because her sobs had stopped and it seemed like her breathing had evened out—she would never let herself fall asleep though, no matter how tired she was, she wouldn't sleep until she was with her baby.

After physically breaking down, Shelby explained everything on her mind. She talked through everything with her parents—even Cass who they obviously knew all about. Shelby was never shy about her sexuality and her parents always accepted her for who she was. Man, woman, it didn't matter to them as long as their children were happy.

Katherine was excited about the prospect of Shelby potentially moving back home to be closer to family, but she also knew how important the show was to her. There was also a valid contract in place for the show—Shelby knew she could get out of it if she really needed or wanted to, but did she? She'd do everything and anything for Rachel but was it selfish of her to want to finish her contract? It was almost up anyways.

Her parents had already thought about subletting an apartment in the city to help out but Shelby shut down that idea, if they wanted to stay, they could stay with her right?—plus, she had Cass and Holly here too right? April too, although not when she was performing obviously. Even though they haven't met Rachel yet, she knows they'd do anything for her already.

Shelby thought back to her pregnancy—she completed all the classes online for her degree in English while carrying Rachel meaning she could teach if she wanted to…but she wanted to incorporate music somehow too. If she was really being honest with herself, she wanted to incorporate music, dance, Rachel and Cass into her future along with her family however, they weren't all in the same place.

Going over everything with her parents made her see things from their perspective as well—she knew Rachel had other people to meet. Cass, her aunts in New York, the rest of her family, but that's something they'd have to do slowly. Her parents did confirm like April did the night before that they knew Cass loved Shelby although her father said she was 'too stubborn to see it' opposed to April's 'too blind to see it'. Maybe she was a bit of both.

After talking about what felt like way too much for four days worth of chaos over with her parents, it was decided that they would be staying for at least two weeks and already planned another visit, they would all attempt to take Rachel out of the house to get her some fresh air with proper protection (coat, hat, mittens, blanket, stroller or being held), Shelby would talk to Cass (actually talk to her, have a heart to heart about everything) including meeting Rachel, and she'd also introduce Rachel to April and Holly.

She would continue her contract with Wicked until it ended but would be taking the holiday off even though that's when everyone came to see her—and take an additional week off now to get everything settled and prepare Rachel the best she could.

Plus, she needed to stay in New York for the case against Hiram, right? However, who knows how long that could take? Technically she doesn't need to stay here, but it would be easier for now at least.

By the time they finished talking, it was close to 11:30pm and even though Shelby was used to late nights, and 11:30 used to be early for her, she was exhausted. They said their goodnights and Shelby brushed her teeth, changed then snuggled up with her little peanut.

There wasn't much Shelby was 100% sure about right now, however, she was positive that there was nothing better than snuggling with her daughter.

Shelby woke the next morning to Rachel crying—assuming she lost her pacifier, Shelby blindly searched for it while Rachel was still on her chest. She thought her shirt was wet from Rachel's tears however, something didn't feel right considering she was wearing a tank top and Rachel's little face was tucked in her neck. So why is my shirt wet?

Rachel's tears triggered a physically response in Shelby: literally. Her milk had come in and it was now leaking through her tank top. I wonder if this will help calm her down…is there a way to introduce Rachel into breastfeeding? Or do I just do it? Should I wait until later or…

Shelby stopped overthinking everything and sat up a bit in bed with Rachel, "Shh, shh, shh, mommy's here baby girl. Open those pretty eyes for me love bug."

Rachel heard her mommy's voice and even though she was so sleepy she opened her eyes. No time like the present considering your shirt is almost embarrassingly wet. "Rach baby, do you want some of mommy's milk instead of a bubba so we can go back to sleep?"

Shelby was already taking off her tank top—they've done plenty of skin to skin but Shelby just honestly didn't want Rachel's pjs to get all wet as well. "Mommy milp?"

She continued to whisper to her daughter, "Yeah baby, mommy's milk will help you grow big and strong like your bubba." She saw Rachel trying to process what she was saying so Shelby phrased it another way, "Do you want mommy's booby?"

That seemed to do the trick, Rachel nodded and claimed her mother's left breast with her hand as Shelby helped her daughter latch on. "Go ahead baby, just like your bubba."

Shelby watched those beautiful brown eyes look up at her with pure admiration as she nursed, the little noises coming from her daughter were those Shelby could only once imagine but was now experiencing first hand—milk was gathering on either sides of her mouth, it's as if the baby couldn't get enough already. Rachel happily and greedily nursed while trying to get herself comfortable.

Maybe it was Shelby being selfish, or maybe it was Rachel's way of telling her mother what she wanted but Shelby took off Rachel's onesie leaving her just in her diaper as she nursed so they were truly skin to skin and Rachel settled right away. Hmm, so I wasn't the selfish one here. My little peanut wanted the same thing.

Shelby couldn't believe how incredible it was to be able to bond this way with her daughter—after about fifteen minutes, Shelby repositioned Rachel and she latched right onto her mothers left breast. Her eyes started to flutter after ten minutes of suckling combined with Shelby's humming—although, Shelby couldn't stop staring at her little baby girl.

This Thanksgiving was probably the happiest days of her life being able to get her baby back—even with all the emotions that came with it, the hole in her heart was finally filled…but being able to nurse Rachel was something indescribable. It's, Shelby truly had no words. She gently ran her finger over Rachel's soft little cheek and smiled as Rachel's lips curled into a smile of their own.

Even at 5:15am, Shelby was happier than ever nursing her little one back to sleep while knowing she was providing nutrients that Rachel so desperately needed. Once Rachel was fully asleep, Shelby slipped the pacifier in between her little lips and scooted down in the bed again covering both of them up. She felt Rachel's hand reclaim it's favorite spot and smiled, kissing the top of her head. "I love you baby, sweet dreams."

The next time Shelby woke up, Rachel was still sprawled out on top of her—she carefully moved her little body and went into the bathroom to freshen up, grab a fresh tank top and one of the nursing bras she had purchased online and had delivered with Rachel's clothes.

As she walked out of the bathroom she saw Rachel starting to sit up; her hair was everywhere, her pacifier in her mouth, only in a diaper—she looked absolutely adorable. "Hi love bug, did you have a good sleep?"

Rachel rubbed her eyes with her little fists and Shelby scooped her up letting Rachel snuggle up against her. After a quick diaper change Shelby laid back down in bed with Rachel so they could have their 'typical' morning of snuggles.

This morning was different though, Rachel remembered what happened earlier; she had her mommy's milk. Her mommy's boobies were magical just like the magical machine in the room downstairs.

Rachel looked into her mothers sparkling green eyes with her own sparkling brown doe eyes, "Mommy milp?"

Shelby smiled and pulled down her tank top, undid her nursing bra and Rachel lunged forward causing Shelby to laugh. "Woah little one, mommy's milk isn't going anywhere."

She gently rubbed Rachel's little belly as she nursed, staring down into her eyes as Rachel contently looked into hers.

"I love you so much my little love bug," Shelby pressed a kiss to Rachel's temple causing Rachel to claim her mothers other breast to let her know she wanted that one next.

Shelby didn't hear the knock on her door, Katherine couldn't help herself she just wanted to check on her daughter and granddaughter—she didn't expect to see the scene she peeked in on though. Shelby didn't hear the knock but she did hear the door creak and looked up at her mother and smiled.

She wasn't shy at all; she couldn't afford to be shy with the job she had and this was her mother—it's nothing she hasn't seen before so she didn't bother covering up, not that much could be seen anyways because Rachel was still nursing.

"Hi mom," she whispered. Shelby knew Rachel was content and most likely wouldn't pull away but whispered as she was still waking up.

"Good morning honey, I see your milk came in," Katherine whispered back with a smile and Shelby nodded. "I just wanted to check on you two but I'll leave you be. We'll be downstairs making some breakfast, any requests?"

"Anything with strawberries or bananas," Shelby signaled Rachel knowing they were her favorites. "But it doesn't matter, we'll eat anything. Thanks mom."

"See you soon." Katherine shut the door and let a tear slip down her cheek. She had yet to hug or hold Rachel, but she saw her yesterday with her clothes on and saw how small she was.

What she walked in on, although a breathtakingly beautiful moment for mother and daughter, was devastating for her because she could see her granddaughters ribs and just how small she truly was as she was just in a diaper.

She didn't know how her daughter was handling all of this—then again, Shelby has always been so strong like her father, even stronger. Katherine and Thomas have talked about her strength multiple times over the years when Shelby didn't have Rachel and how strong she was…but now that she did have her, it was truly evident how much stronger she truly is.

Katherine doesn't think she would personally be able to handle it. She seems to always be breaking down yet Shelby always keeps a smile on her face, or has since they've been there when Rachel is awake.

The strength their daughter has is truly remarkable—Shelby has said multiple times, 'Rachel deserves a mommy who smiles and has fun with her—not one who is sad and can't keep her emotions in check, so that's what she'll get.'

Shelby is stubborn, strong willed, and clearly an amazing mother already.

Rachel started sitting up, "Are you all done love bug?"

"Ah dom mommy," Rachel confirmed placing a slobber kiss to her mothers lips.

"Oh thank you baby, that was so nice, so, so nice," Shelby smiled, grimacing on the inside tasting her own breast milk and feeling it now all over her lips.

The smile on Rachel's face was everything though; she'd take breastmilk kisses any day if she saw that beautiful smile afterwards. "I love you peanut."

"Ov oo mommy."
