I've had this story in my mind for a while. And got really excited Home Improvement was added on hulu, so now I can get the characters personalities more accurately!

Mark was home alone. That didn't usually happen. But his mother had gone back to work a lot, recently. And school. Now that the kids were older, she was more willing to be away. But what he didn't expect to happen was an intruder in the home.

He would be able to remember far more clearly than he would want to.

He was getting a soda before retreating back to his room. It was there he saw a figure in the Livingroom. He froze, trying to calculate his moves. He knew karate, but not very well. His best bet would be the phone. Which he dove towards.

The intruder scurried over his direction and stabbed him in the stomach.

One of the last things he remembered was thinking it was a lot more painful than the movies made it look.

Randy and Brad had come home from a late double date. They were grateful to be able to drive, and have more freedom. And were excited that Jill was away on a work retreat, and Tim was staying at Als to help him with home repairs.

What they saw would haunt them forever.

They were both rambling about how good the date was when Brad froze.

"R...Randy?" Randy turned around, after putting his jacket away. He saw Mark's body on the floor-blood spilling from his chest.

"Shit!" He ran to his littlest brother.

"Brad, call 911, and get Wilson! Hurry!" He grasped Mark's hand.

"R...Randy?" Mark was able to speak, causing Randy to gasp.

"It's okay, Mark. It's gonna be okay." His mind raced on what to do.

Mark closed his eyes.

"S...so scared," he stammered, and Rand bit his lip.

"Just fight, okay, Mark? I'm going to get you help. You're going to be okay. Do you hear me?" He watched, in horror, as Mark's eyes closed, and he started to pass out in Randy's arms.

"Mark?! Mark!" But there was no answer.
