Swerving through the crowds of people,I head toward the kitchen.I walk through the opening and bump into someone.
"Oh,I'm sorry!"A voice says.
I look up and meet Julieta's happy face.
"Oh,no.It was my fault.I should have looked where I was going."I say apologeticly.
"You should be partying!Why are you back here?"She asks picking up a plate of corn.
"I came to see if anyone needs help with anything."I say fixing my shirt.
"Oh,no!You go party! Mirabel will be with you in a minute."She hastily turns me around and she pushes me out the door.
"Have fun!"She says turning to the grill.
"Ok,"I say slowly.
Weird.Why was she acting like that? She must have things to do,I think.I sigh and walk off.As I continue walking with no destination I see curly hair bouncing in front of me. Mirabel! I speed up and tap her shoulder lightly.She turns around with her hands full.I examine the plate in her hands consisting of sweets and empanadas.
"Hungry aren't we,"I say picking out a cookie.
"Yeah."She says nervously.
I look at her weirdly before taking a bite of my cookie.
"I got to go."She says looking around.
I look at her weirdly again.
"What?",I say confused.
"Charlotte!There you are!",Mirabel says behind me.
I turn around slowly.
"Mirabel?"I say looking between the two.
We stood there a few minutes before realization hit me.
"Camilo!"I say looking at the Mirabel with food in her hands.
"Took you long enough."Camilo says In his regular voice.
I watch as Camilo turns back into himself.
"I'm sorry, Mirabel."I say walking to her.
"It's fine.He likes messing with people."She says glaring at him.
"Yeah,I do.You owe me a cookie, Charlotte."He says with a smirk and mischievous glint in his eyes.
"What?!You got enough food right there!"I exclaim,pointing at the plate in his hands.
Beside me Mirabel stifles a giggle.
"What's so funny!"I practically scream turning to her.
"Nothing,I was just thinking how good a couple you two would make."She says smiling ear to ear.
"What?"I say quietly.
Behind me I hear Camilo choke on his food.I can already feel the heat rushing to my face. Maribel starts laughing harder,pointing her finger to someone behind me.I whip around and see Camilo as dark red as you can get and coughing.For some reason that makes me blush even harder.Camilo see me looking at him. He clears his throat and hurries off into the crowd.I watch him go before Mirabel pats me on the shoulder.I look over at her in disbelief.
She wipes a tear away and says,"Let's go get a good spot for the fireworks."
