Quirks. Abilities supernatural and inhuman that were first detected in the year 2034 ,which then went on to become one of the biggest changes to occur to humanity. There were many theories that tried to determine the reason for appearing. The most prominent one being that it was simply the next step of evolution.

But doesn't it raise the question. Why?Why did humanity need to develop quirks. When they were detected humanity was already at the top of the food chain. We had missions to the Moon and Mars, with a probe being sent into the swirling gaseous mists of Jupiter to investigate and understand the Graveyard of Asteroids better. So was it really necessary for humans, who had already developed an unnatural intelligence capable of self awareness to develop an ability that had been a thing of fiction and spectacle once?

It was. Because Quirks were developed by humans to threaten and protect against other humans. Evolution was an ungraspable eldritch God that had grown tired of humans being pathetic, crushed by society, the result of the very intelligence it had once gifted upon them. And so it swirled one it's many hands with millions of appendages in a square circle and gifted (Cursed) humanity with quirks. And viola Humans could fight back. No longer guns or swords held their position at the top of the list of tools humans had possessed to hurt their own. It was now a quirk.

Why else would quirks be so unique and intrinsic to an individual's ego and id? Because simply they were an expression of what their lineage had deemed the best way to exert their will on others. Evolution had done it to many eyed bastard of God. Now humans strived for ultimate domination. No longer were just humans thriving enough. Now every human had a reason to yearn for his own genes and only his own genes to dominate. All being the play of it. What that bastard was not able to achieve through race, religion, gender or nationality it had achieved through qui-

A loud angry sound of paper and flesh hitting hard wood resonated throughout the small room with two chairs and a wooden table to the side.

Hiratsuka Shizuka had slammed her hand that held an essay that was the work of her only companion in the room. She sat opposite to him who appeared with an indifferent expression on the backdrop of a plain white wall that held a bulb at its top

"What is this. " She asked with a murderous glint in her voice that threatened for shivers to spill from his backbone but he held firm not giving into the intimating aura the woman was rollingg off of her in waves.

She had waist length black hair that spilled from the seat of her chair and hanging off the side. Her usually beautiful and lighthearted face was twisted into an ugly frown and a scary glare.

He had to be careful about this.

"Exactly what you asked for Sensei. An essay on reflection of the effects of Quirks on Humanity. " Delivered with pitch perfect monotony betraying none of his emotions through

verbal clues or facial expressions.Perfect was what he would have rated if he hadn't gotten himself into this troublesome situation already.

Hiratsuka freed her hand from the offending piece of literature and brought it up to her forehead and massaged it. When she heard that she would be teaching Aizawa's brat she had expected some trouble at the very least. But this? This was beyond anything she had even remotely thought of.

'God where do I even start? ' she said taking a look at the student in front of her.

He was clad in the UA high uniform that was worn messily. His collar and top button was untied and the tie loosely hung from his neck. The V-shape showed off a clearly defined collarbone similar to the rest of the body. He was tall, almost a head taller than her and she was already taller than a lot of her male colleagues. His hair were a messy swirl of hypnotizingly dark locks with a small ahoge standing on top. She would have called him 'Cute' and 'Handsome' if not for that one feature.

His eyes. They were small and beady. Like pin holes staring into the endless abyss, only sparing her a small glimpse of what his mind and self held. They rarely showed expression and when they did, it was not a pretty sight in the least.

She had to be careful about this.

"You say that quirks are a way for one's lineage to express their best way to 'exert their will upon others ' Am I correct? "

"Yes, that is precisely what I wrote in the essay sensei. "

"Well then enlighten me. What do you have to say about people born with non-combative quirks? Say someone with the ability to see note colors using their quirks. Surely you do not think such an ability is useful to exert their will upon others is it?" She asked, making sure to add a hint of humor in her voice saying the last sentence to strengthen her opinion on the matter.

He looked on blankly, not even sparing her rather impressive figure a glance, only an empty stare. "Indeed I do Sensei. "

"What? "

"I said I do. They are ways of exerting their will upon others."

Hiratsuka broke into laughter that gurgled from her chest for a few seconds before wiping a tear from her left eye that was never there.

"You're good at jokes brat I'll give you that. -Mr. I can see a total of 3 more colors- here is really good at ' exerting their will onto others haha. "

Oh she had done it now. She had provoked him but he did not respond in kind. He was better than that. But making fun of something he so firmly believed in?

"Truly I do not jest Sensei. " He said, fixing his posture and sitting upright from his slouch on the expensive white seat. "For there are bound to be failures in evolution. Fated to be cast aside and left with no opportunity to pass down their genes. "

He had to stop his face from breaking into a delirious grin as he saw her face twist into the most murderous and hateful expression he had seen up until now, perhaps the worst she had ever put on. All courtesy of yours truly.

"Hikigaya Hachiman…" She said, her tone a thousand poisons and her tongue a million needles. "Are you implying that humans with non-combative quirks are useless? " If looks could kill Hikigaya Hachiman would have died a thousand deaths and then some more by now.

But they couldn't. And all she could do was glare as she fell right into her trap.

"Now when did I say that? I said they were fated to be cast aside. I for one never was the advocate of faith. Truly a tragic one isn't it? " He spoke on shamelessly knowing her parents were born with bottom of the barrel quirks, with her quirk that was adequate enough to be a hero, only being a mutation, alienating her further from her parents that were already filled with regret and deep rooted shame for being born into this world.

"It was you who assumed. Made calculations and derived meaning from my words when there was none, or in this case a different one. You in the process have shown your own biases Sensei. You judged a person's worth by their quirks. Would you call a person with a rusty sword a worthless human? Surely not. It's precisely because of people like you who place too much value into Hero this, Villain that, that humanity is suffering.

How long has it been since you've seen someone shout with pride that they want to be a painter, or an astronaut or a baker? No it's been far too long to remember hasn't it. "

Ahh he just couldn't hold it in anymore, his face twisted into a grin ugly and wretched

"I say we stop this stupid skit of Hero and Villain and accept reality. Don't you see it Sensei, the Future of humanity lies in Quirks. "

The last few words sounding vaguely optimistic and eerily familiar sent a jolt down her spine as her brain racked to figure out the meaning of his words.

Then she remembered. The words she had said during the orientation of the first years just some time ago.

"The future lies in Humanity accepting and integrating with quirks. "

Her voice was shaky and shivering ever so slightly as his triumphant smirk turned into a frown.

"Tch tch tch Sensei you just don't get it. " The only light source in the room being behind him cast a shadow now, all around him, his face that had been just darkened due to the lack of light being a faceless black void now. Hiratsuka saw hundreds of small Golden eyes, paranoid and violent staring into her and the outer world from the darkness as if peering into a dimension truly alien to them.

All being the blessing of his ability. A mutation that still retained some of its original factors boosting the body compatibility and power output producing a one in a million-nay one in a 3.67 billion quirk. The one he had aced the UA high exams with, leaving the highest score topping even All Mights record.

And then he spoke slowly as if explaining to a creature with far lesser intellect.

"The future of Humanity lies in breaking away from quirks."
