Hey guys it's been a minute.
Suppose I have some 'splaing to do. Long story short, I'm in the military and don't really have time for this sort of thing much anymore. And soon to be even less. If I do have time to write something, it will be short. That being said, other projects I have started have been cancelled and will likely never completed. In case you haven't noticed, I have an unhealthy obsession with crossovers, so expect more of that.
Thank you for understanding
No, I will not be writing Memory 15 word for word, we've all played the game, fight me.
Alight, Enough BS. Let's get to it.
The Legend of Zelda: Eternal
At twilight, two heroes walk in silence. One, a knight, with a static, almost emotionless and focused expression. His 1000-yard stare peering off into the distance, looking for the next potential threat. Ready to kill. The other hero, a princess, has her head hung low in defeat for she has, once again, failed to unlock her ancient power to seal the darkness. These heroes are Princess Zelda and Link
Their three friends, and one irritating bird named Revali, await them at the bottom of the mountain. Daruk, a large Goron, is the first to ask how things went. Zelda, disheartened, explains that things did not go well. The Princess's closest friend, Urbosa, explains that she should not give up but rather find the thing that unlocks her powers. Mipha, the young Zora Princess, attempts to make a suggestion, but is interrupted by what feels like an earthquake. In disbelief they look towards the center of Hyrule. Gannon has returned.
Before any of them could ever react, a pentagram appeared on the ground in front of them. It tore open the earth beneath them opening a portal to what could only be described as Hell itself, and almost consuming Link. If it wasn't for his reflexes and Zelda grabbing him, he would have been sent to whatever horrors awaited him within.
"Link! Look out" Zelda cried out, pointing at a decrepit hand that was grasping for his leg from the depth the chasm that had recently just formed. Without a second thought, Link rose to his feet, unsheathed the Master Sword, now glowing brighter than ever, and delt with the unholy assailant. Unfortunately for our champions, he would not be the last.
Soon swarms of creatures from the dark began pouring out from the depths of Hell. The heroes retreated further up the mountain, hoping to gain some sort of high ground advantage. However, they went down the wrong path and found themselves at a dead end. "Zelda," Urbosa spoke with urgency, "Get behind us."
"Yes, of course," Zelda timidly replied, feeling some guilt as to being useless in their current situation. The Champions then formed a line in front of the Princess and ready to face the oncoming horde of darkness.
"Any last words, Hero of Hyrule?" Revali Scoffed as he readied his bow and arrow.
"Yes, Link, and superlative words of inspiration for your," Urbosa glares at Revali before continuing, "Humble troops." Revali rolls his eyes at her remarks.
Then the unexpected happen, Link began to speak, "Do not pray for easier lives, my friends, pray to be stronger warriors," Link turns to Zelda and looks her in the eyes, "Your highness, it has been a great honor to have been your knight. I will fight till my last dying breath for you." Zelda says nothing in return, and just looks away in shame, still feeling guilt about not unlocking her powers. Link then turns back to the approaching horde of unholy monsters that await them, the likes of which they had never seen.
As they approach, Link and Urbosa cuts the horde down with their swordsmanship, Daruk uses his brute strength to throw the bastards like ragdolls. Revail, flies up and provides air support raining bomb arrows down from above, and Mipha does everything she can to heal injuries and keep fighting on. And all Zelda can do is watch as her friends die for her.
As the battle goes on, it becomes increasingly difficult to maneuver in the pile of bodies and internal organs of the slain invaders from the underworld. As a result, one of the demons, a rather large and grotesque one at that, manages to slip through the wall of heroes and goes straight for Zelda. Link, of course notices. "ZELDA! LOOK OUT" He breaks formation and rushes to her aid as quickly as he can.
He first goes for the arms, severing them, and finishes the beast by slicing him in half. It's blood and internal organs spill onto the ground. It was at this point, the blue glow of the master sword died out and used the remainder of it power for the time being. To make matter worse, his absence from the wall, while brief allowed the horde to break through. It was impressive they lasted this long. Together they had probably slayed a few hundred of these things. Urbosa could no longer use her lighting as her power had been drained, Ravali was out of arrows, and could not fly away due to sustain injuries, and Mipha was far too occupied to heal anyone at the moment. Even Daruk was beginning to wear out. Link drew his knight's sword and began to fend of attackers of Zelda by himself.
It was no use at this point, the horde was piling onto them. It was only a matter of time before they all met their fate. Daruk is now fighting for his life buried in a pile of demons. Urbosa is either dead or unconscious laying in a pool of her own blood. Revali's wing has been impaled and is now pinned to the wall, he watches as the rabid beast approach, "So, this is how I die?" he whispers. The only three who remain are Link, Zelda, and Mipha, and the two capable fighters are both now injured.
Watching this unfold, angers and saddens the Princess. She watches as her friends die around her and what can she do? Nothing. Then she sees it, a killing blow from one of the monsters coming down on Link. In act of desperation, she reaches out, "LINK NO!" Suddenly, a flash of white, blinding holy light engulfs them. The demons around the scream in pain as they disintegrate, as no being of hate or malice is safe from the divine light of the goddess.
When the smoke clears, Revali pulls the sword that was pinning him from his wing, Daruk emerges from the disintegrated pile of demons, Miphia immediately rushes over to Urbosa. But Link? He just stares at Zelda in awe. "I... I did it..." Zelda speaks, almost out of breath, "I... Unlocked my power," She then notices Urbosa, Mipha desperately using the last of her energy to heal the gash in her side, "Oh Hylia, Urbosa!"
"I-I'm fine... Little bird," Urbosa barely has the strength so utter these words, she coughs up some blood before speaking again. She holds out her hand to Zelda, and the Princess takes it, "I came too just before... you...you are amazing, Little Bird... but... you couldn't have done that a little sooner?" a faint grin crosses her face. At this point Zelda's eyes are filled with tears and she can hardly speak, "At least you still have your sense of humor." Zelda remarks.
Link reaches into his bag and pulls out a potion bottle "Take this healing potion, "He says handing it to her, "I keep it for emergencies, and you are the worst out of us all. Sorry I couldn't get it to you sooner. I was a bit preoccupied." He removes the cork and helps the weakened Gerudo woman drink it.
The potion works its magic and heals the wounds the mighty warrior sustained. Unfortunately, this particular potion does not help with blood loss. While no longer at risk of death, she is still out of the fight, for the moment. And as if things couldn't get worse, they look down the way to see yet another horde approaching them. The only saving grace was that the lull in battle gave mipha time to heal the minor injuries.
"More of Gannon's little fuckers." Revali scowls, now wielding the sword that once nearly killed him.
"No, these creatures are not Gannon's," Zelda observes now holding the Bow of Light, "This is a different evil entirely."
Daruk pounds his fist together, "Well, whatever they are, they don't stand a chance against us."
"Yes," Mipha begins, "Especially not with Zelda with her awakened powers."
"Wait," Link commands as he notices a green light emerging from the crowd of demons, "what the hell is that?"
A ball of energy approaches them at high speed, disintegrating the center ranks of the horde, only stopping once it slams into the side of a hill. The remaining demons now stop dead in their tracks and turn towards the source of this destruction. Through the gap in their ranks stands tall figure. He throws the weapon he's holding onto the ground, as it no longer has ammunition to fire. He then pulls out a large, fire red-orange sword, known as the Crucible, from its sheath. The man then yells a war cry, and charges the remaining horde. "The Slayer has entered the battlefield! Kill him now!" A large demon with one eye with weapons has appendages commands.
He Rips and tears through the flesh of the horde with ease. Occasionally using his bare hands to rip them apart. A trail of blood and guts follow in his wake. One demon, a Mancubus, manages to surprise the slayer and knock the Crucible from his hand. It then attempts to scorch the Slayer with his flamethrowers. This, however, was a miscalculated move and only further angered the Slayer. The Slayer in retaliation grabs the chainsaw off of his back and brutally slices vertically through the flesh and bone of the fat ugly beast. One half falls onto the ground, and the other half, the Slayer grabs and throws at some revenants that were annoying him. Its internals rain down from above.
He continues his rampage through heard of the mortally challenged, slaughtering them indiscriminately. "Should we... help him?" Zelda asks as she stares in awe at the carnage.
"I think he's got it under control," Daruk replies
"Well," Zelda draws her bow and an arrow of light seats itself, "I'm helping anyways."
"Your orders, princess?" Link asks now wielding the recharged Master Sword.
"Kill these cursed things and retake the kingdom." Zelda states with new found confidence and a hint of anger.
"I may not be in the best shape right now," Urbosa stands using the assistance of the Scimitar of Seven, "But I believe I can assist with that."
In any other circumstance, Zelda would have protested. Urbosa was basically a second mother to her. However, despite her recent injuries, Zelda nods in agreement. The all stand together with weapons in hand, ready to face the horde again with their unexpected ally.
Zelda notices a line of demons behind the man know has the Slayer. She aims, and fires. The arrow of light pierces through all five of them with ease. The Slayer turns around to see this just in time to be impressed. It's very rare that he meets others who are competent at killing demons. He looks over to where the shot came from and nods to Zelda. Soon the others join the fight.
With the six of them working together, they are unstoppable as they cut down all different kinds of demons. Soon the bodies of the damned litter the base of Mount Lanayru. Soon enough, they chase the armies of evil back to hell where they came from. The only problem that remained now, is Gannon.
"Thank you so much, Sir... Slayer, was it? That's what those things called you at least." Zelda looks to armored man. She cannot see it through his helmet, but she can tell this man is powered by pure hate. Its intimidating to say the least.
The old Doom Marine walks over to Zelda, takes a knee and puts his hand or her shoulder, "The way you and your friends slaughtered those demons impressed me."
"Oh... Well... Umm thank you?" Zelda was completely unprepared for that response.
"Hate to break up this little chat," Revali interrupts, "But there is still a being of malice and hate circling the castle. And look at the Divine beasts! They are under Gannon's control!"
"Then we go straight for the castle, deal with Gannon Directly," Link says, "All of us together. We'll kill the source."
"So, Mr. Slayer. You up to kill an ancient evil?" The only response Urbosa get is overly eager nod.
Daruk slaps the Slayer on the back, much to Daruk's surprise, he is unphased "Haha, I like this big guy! I should make him some rock roast when this is all over!" The slayer nods his head in disagreement. "No? Oh well more for me!"
And with that, they sealed the gateway to hell and made their way towards the castle. Slaughtering any reaming demons and all of Gannon's goons. They soon found themselves at the castle gates, ready to face whatever awaits them on the inside.
So, this was only going to one chapter and I ended up enjoying this far too much... I really hope I didn't start something I won't have time to finish.
