But where the queen bed is an storage area like pantry. It also has a bunk beds instead of futon / upper bunks.

I was holding Ethan in my arms rocking him to sleep in the living room chair, when the news story came on about people eating each other. This was the beginning of the end and to be honest I don't think I knew it yet but i would soon realize that it was. I watched it not really believing it at all. When Ethan was asleep I walked him into his room and put him in his crib. I check on his brothers Sam and Michael or Matt as we called him. They all three shared a room together since I had a small two bedroom house that was barley big enough for us.

I didn't have a lot of extra money these days since I had retired from the Marines a few months back. I wanted to focus on raising my three boys instead of work. I wanted to be the kind of mother that was there for their student- teacher meetings, sports games if they took sports. I wanted to see and be there for as many of their firsts as I could and being in the military I couldn't do that.

I loved the military and had served 15 years in the military after enlisting in military school at the age of 15. After completing the military academy I went straight into basic afterwards and flew through it with flying colors turns out my years of growing up hunting and tracking in the woods as a child paid off.

I was top of my class in search and rescue, tracking, and fire arms training. I went to college during my time state side online. I competed 4 years in 2 by sheer determination of wanting to move up through the ranks and this was the only way. I impressed my commanding officers that weren't racist to me being a women who was doing better than most men. I was told on several accessions that it was like I was born to do this job.

I had met my husband Michael in military academy on the first day we quickly became best friends. We had a lot of the same classes together and the same interests. He was everything that I had ever wanted and hope for in a husband. He was a tall blond hair, blue eyed, muscular native American with kind eyes that loved animals, nature, he wanted a family with at least 3 kids maybe more, wanted to sever his country for a few years before retiring to spend the rest of his life with his family raising his kids.

We didn't get married until after my first tour which was 2 years long so that would make me 22 at the time of getting married and he was 24. We had a beautiful small summer military wedding with all of our family and friends. We had a Chinese and Mexican food buffet style food with several different choices to pick from. We had a 5 tier wedding cake that was two different flavors half was lemon cake with lemon frosting and the other was chocolate with while frosting. It was perfect in other words.

We were given 2 week leave before going on tour our next tour we were station together but in different units so our relationship wouldn't get in the way of our work not that it ever did. We had decided early on to give our first born son his name like his father did him and his father before him.

Since he had two middle names we would give each child one of his middle names so that they would alway have a piece of him if they were boys that was. I did 4 tours over seas adding up to 10 years then I had my first son Matthew Michael Jones or Matt as we call him. I switch to teaching at a local Military academy for the next 5 years which gets you until now. I had loved the job but taking care of my kids came first now after having a third I knew that not going overseas anymore is or was the right thing to do.

I had been teaching for 2 years before I had Samuel or Sam as we call him. I had then lost my husband during his tour overseas. It was the hardest thing I ever had to go through. it almost killed me when they showed up with his flag telling me that he had been killed in actions since at the time I was pregnant at 3 months with our third child at the time. I was now going to have to raise my children alone and only Michael would know who his father was.

The other two would only have pictures to look at nor real memories of their father. I kept as many of his photos around the house as I could for them even his ashes and flag were kept on the mantel. I had photos of him holding both my older boys and made sure that they had copies of them on their bedside table. I didn't ware a wedding ring anymore I kept it on my dog tags along with one of his. His best friend kept in contact every now and then but he had a family to look after to.

I was now a waitress at the local diner on the days that I didn't teach at the academy and on the weekends it didn't pay much we were barley getting by. I had to go back to hunting for most of our meat or making deals with the Dixon brothers in order to gain enough meat to feed us. I used all the money we get for food and keeping the water and lights on in the house. I was struggling and reconsidering me leaving the Marines but knew that if I didn't I would regret it so I did what every marine did I toughed it out and it got better after I had Sam.

Money wasn't as tight since I was getting my husbands death benefits. I was surprised at how much he had put in to his policy. He had made sure that we would be well taken care of. He even made sure that my custom built Rv that I had been wanting to get was fully paid for and already ordered and would be delivered in a few days. I was still tight on money that I was only raising three kids on one income so I had to learn to budget all over agin for us to get by.

I was getting a Hurricane 34J Luxury Collection Charcoal Diamond, Coastline Gray Cabinetry, with bunkbeds, extra seating, and solar panels. I had switch out the king size bed in the master bedroom for two sets of bunkbeds. I also had half the closet replaced with a gun cabinet to put all the hunting guns in so the boys couldn't get to them. The closet was still plenty big for storage and clothes. I went to work for the next two weeks and the news stories were getting more and more crazy and more people seemed to be getting this virus.

I was getting worried that the disease as they were now calling it was spreading quicker then it could be contained. My Military instincts were telling me that I needed to be ready to grab my kids and run. I had been told my instincts were some of the best most people had ever seen. They had saved me and other men and women lots of times during my years overseas. So when they told me to do something I did with out question because the last time I didn't I took a bullet to chest almost killing me if it hadn't been for my friend who pulled me to the side so it hit my shoulder instead of my heart.

I had notice that the military were on high alert lately when I was on base. We were trying to get as many of the younger kids ready for what was coming. I was told to focus my teaching hand to hand fighting, gun training, knife training, and medical care which was a step further than basic first aid supplies. I was also told that kids as young as 15 were being promoted to the next level and being taught this stuff which was usually saved 17 and 18 years olds.

I found that strange that they were gearing up their older students for war. I had done as I was told and they paid me extra money giving me several months worth ahead of time like I was going to need it or something. I didn't question them I took it and put it to good use. I went to the store that very night stocking up of canned fruit, veggies, soups, and anything else that I knew my boys would eat. I got a lot of pasta, noodles, mac and cheese, boxed goods, snack foods, bottled drinks, powder milk, powder eggs, and lots of other food and supplies.

I also knew that Ethan would be eating baby food in a couple months so I went ahead and got several cases of different kinds. I got two of peas, pears, applesauce, sweet potatoes, banana, green bean and carrot. then One of the mixture jars like pumpkin/ apple/ cinnamon, banana/ orange/ pineapple, sweet corn/ peas/ green beans. I grabbed a couple newer flavors for him to try when the time came. I also got some rice cereal and baby cereal for him to eat when he started to get teeth I grabbed two boxes of the three different flavors.

I was going to be prepared for what was coming. I went to the weapons store next stocking up on arrows, ammo, cleaning kits, hunting knives, and i had even bought a few extra guns and silencers for them. I also got more hunting and camping supplies I used the money to also get some clothes for the up coming winter that would be a little big on the boys incase they grew before winter hit. I prepared the best i could with the little money I had to spend.

My Rv would be done later that day and I was packing up and leaving for a while. I had already started packing what little we owned into boxes. I had packed up 6 of pots and pans, cutting board, mixing bowls, hand mixer, tea pitcher, apple juice pitcher, knives, spoons, and forks into a few boxes along with dish towels. I had left the food out in the pantry for us to eat on. I had found that buying food for the whole month at once was the best way to use my money so meals were planned out ahead of time and I made sure that we always had some snacks for the kids to eat on.

I had packed up the extra winter blankets, bedding, toys, books, and games into boxes. Clothes were packed away into 6 boxes, each boy had two boxes a winter box and summer box of clothes and shoes had a single box that everyones shoes fit into. We each boy had two pairs of hiking boot and tennis shoes. One fit and the second was a size bigger. I used a book bag to hold Sam's coloring supplies, toys he played with the most, and his stuffed monkey. Matt had a bag for his toys, books, and games too. He also carried some school books. I had a big diaper bag that held all Ethan's blankets, clothes, diapers, wipes, toys, and formula into the diaper bag ready to go.

I grabbed large military duffle bag and put a week worth of clothes for each of us in it along with some washable diapers, wipes, 2 canisters of formula incase we had to make a quick get away I could grabbed one bag and be good to go. I also put a pistol with a silencer and 4 boxes of ammo in it. I grabbed my gun bag putting my two hunting rifles, shotgun, extra hand gun, hunting knives, my bow, and arrows into along with all the ammo I had which made the bag barley close. I packed all my hunting, how to, and survival books into a box. I had packed all the kids movies and tv series into boxes as well.

I had set the boxes by the door after labeling them. I also had our hunting supplies there.I had locked the house up and went to bed myself. I woke up in the middle of the night to feed Ethan and saw that the news were just getting worst over night. I knew that the dead would be in our town in a matter of hours if not days. We were to close to the city to be safe and that was all that mattered was keeping the boys safe. I got the boys up and ready early the next morning getting showered, dressed, and fed all in an hour. I did a double check to make sure that I had grabbed and packed everything I wanted to take with me.

I look out the window checking for the dead. The Rv place was due to deliver the Rv was crazy even for me. I was getting myself dressed when I heard boys watching tv turned to emergency broadcasting. I went in grabbing Ethan in my arms on the way. I listened it repeat it's self a few times before I was brought out of my thoughts by a knock on the door. I told Matt to take his brothers into the other room and lock the door until I told them that it was safe to come out. The guy at the door was delivering my Rv but already had a chuck missing out of his arm.

I ignored it an accepted his help of moving all my boxes into the Rv. I was hesitant to do so but I knew that I my as well use his help while I could. I wanted to get out of there as fast as I could so I could stock up on last minuet supplies and gas. I still needed things like boxes to store future stuff in, gas canisters, buckets, better camp fire cooking gear, and extra fishing supplies. I could tell that he knew that he was dying by how he stayed as far from me as he could. After the last box I could tell he didn't have long at all.

"Why don't you stay here at the house while I pack the boys up and leave that was the plan anyways." I told the guy.

"No I can't become one of those things. I've seen what happens when you get bit or scratched by the walkers. I want you to kill me please I'm begging you." He told me before begging me.

"Okay let me get my kids in the Rv and i will kill you if you want me to." I told him as he sat down on the couch.

I grabbed the military backpack putting all our canned and boxed foods in it. I grabbed a box and basically dumped my fridge and freezer into it. I carried them out to the Rv too. I quickly put all of the cold things away where they belonged before going back into the house for the boys. I saw that the guy was still on the couch waiting on me. I went to the bedroom grabbing the boys putting their shoes on them. I even put shoes on Ethan before handing him to Matt. I told Matt to take his brothers and get in the Rv and put them in their carseats and get them ready to go on our trip. I waited until he left before taking out my hunting knife and stabbing the already dad man in the head killing him for good.

I went out to the Rv getting in making sure I had everything I needed from the house before locking the doors and windows to the Rv. I got the Dvd player hooked up and put in Spongebob on low for the boys to watch. I started unpacking most of the kitchen putting everything where it belonged. I took the boxes of the kids clothes into the bedroom leaving them there to be unpacked later on. I put the kids toys away in their own toy trunks making sure to lock them so they didn't come open during the drive. I put all the boxes inside the closet for now. I went over to the window to see that lots of people were now leaving their homes following what the broadcasts says.

I knew that the highway was going to be a dangerous nightmare and death trap waiting to happen. I was the only way to get to the military base where I would receive my orders of where to go next. I was surprised that i hadn't got a phone call already from them. I had my military uniform packed away in one of the boxes along with my husband ashes and flag. I packed them carefully with extra care. I had made sure to grab the important documents and photos before leaving and put them in the glove box for safe keeping. I could almost hear Michael's voice in my head telling me that everything would be okay and to trust my instincts that they would keep me and the boys alive and safe.

I was about to drive off when Ethan started fussing I had forgot that It had taken me hours to load up the boxes in the Rv and it was now time to feed him.I looked at the clock and saw it was time to feed all the kids. I couldn't believe I had let time get away from me. I grabbed the formula and water bottle before making his bottle. I put both the half full water bottle and formula canister back in to his diaper bag as I shook up the bottle. As I was grabbing Ethan out of his carseat I notice that Sam had fallen asleep so I grabbed his blanket out of his bag and covered him up before I started to feed Ethan.

"Momma when are we going to eat lunch." Matt asked me softly so he didn't wake Sam

"I don't know baby we need to get away from here because the walkers are going to get here sooner or later. Why don't you go to the treat bin and get a packet of cookies to tide you over." I told him smiling.

"Okay momma thank you I was getting really hungry." Matt said getting up to grab them.

I got in to the driver seat of the Rv turning it on and pulling out of the drive way. I saw that the town wasn't that bad yet so I made the choice to stop and get some more food and gas. I stopped at gas station taking up the last open pump. I was nervous about leaving the kids in the Rv but I knew that if the walkers attacked i wouldn't be able to protect all three of them and still get supplies at the same time so I got out leaving the kids in the Rv. I took a few empty boxes into the store with me. I walked into the gas station to find several people buy canned goods and snacks for the trip to the safe zone in Atlanta which was over 5 hours away.

I bought all the canned goods, boxed foods, medical supplies, waters, a couple gallons of milk, and lots of lot of snacks I could get my hands on. I had made two trips getting a total of 5 boxes of supplies from the store. The first and second had canned goods in them, The third and fourth had snacks and chips in them, and The fifth had medical supplies and toiletries. I also get three cases of water and two more boxes of sodas and alcohol that could be used for medical needs. I paid the guy who happily took the money.

I bought enough gas to fill up the Rv and 6 gas canisters. I made sure the lids were on tight before storing them on the side of the Rv with the camping gear. I also bought several heavy duty buckets with lids and canning supplies so that I could can wild plants, berries, nuts, and herbs that I found along the way knowing that medicine would run out sooner or later. I was now taking it all out to the Rv so that I could organize it later. Right now I just wanted it in the Rv and I could find a place for it later when I wasn't being chased by walkers.
