"Good morning, little buddy," I mumble as I open my eyes to a brand new morning. Cheese and cracker crumbs litter my other pillow which Plagg sits on. "Did you have a midnight craving?" I ask, sitting up. "You know how I get hungry during the night, Adrien," he says. I smile softly. Just like I get hungry for Marinette's or Ladybug's company. Even if I have the freedom of Cat Noir, its not like I can do anything I want. I get out of bed and shower and dress, for I don't have much time before I have to be at school.

I always feel a bit bad that Plagg has to either sit in my bag or locker all day, but he has his cheese and there's usually some magazine tucked away in there as well. Maybe we can stop at Leo's cheese store after school. Oh, but wait, I have fencing after school.

I love this time of year when the autumn sunlight shines down on our locker's, giving the room a soft glow. I walk in, and I pause when I hear Plagg's voice. "Adrien?" "You have plenty of cheese," I say, a little annoyed as I have to be in class shortly. "Adrien, go give Marinette a hug. She looks sad," Plagg says.

My annoyance falls away, like drifting leaves swirling downwards, and I stride over to her. So far we're the only ones in here. "Hey, Marinette. Are you okay?" I ask. She jumps at the sound of my voice. "Hey, Adrien," she whispers. I notice the tear tracks down her face and I softly cup her cheek with my hand. "Guess I'm just lonesome," she sighs. "I'm sorry I haven't been around much lately. Maybe you like to come over?" "Yes, I'd like that." "I have fencing after school, so you'd have to wait a bit." "I don't mind." "Good. Would be okay if I gave you a hug?" I ask. Marinette nods, and I pull her close. She holds on tightly, like I'm a lifeline, which is ironic because I think the same about her. Marinette is a true friend, not a fake friend just liking me because I'm rich and famous. And she's a good listener when I'm wearing the mask, knowing that even as superheroes our lives are far from perfect. The bell rings. "We should probably get to class," I tell her. I take her hand, and we walk into the classroom together. I give her a little smile, then sit down.

Though Marinette has Zoe and Alya, she usually hangs at the back of group, not wanting to be the center of attention.

During lunch, Plagg whispers to me, "You should find Marinette. I think I saw her headed towards the art room," he says. I smile at Plagg. I ignore my stomach, and climb the stairs to the art room and sure enough Marinette is working on a project. Luckily, there's a empty easel and I sit down next to her. "The lunchroom was to loud, so I decided to come here instead," Marinette explains. "Art is wonderful thearpry," I tell her, picking up my brush. "Besides, I'd rather be with you then eat lunch." "Thanks, Adrien, your a great friend," Marinette says. Our hands brush as we both brush for the purple and we giggle.

She's so talented! In the course of a hour, she painted a ruffled purple dress, gloves, and shoes. "You could make a dress out of anything, could you?" I ask, watching her work. "Well, maybe not everything, but you just need to keep an open mind." We both groan as the bell rings, signaling the start of afternoon classes. "She did look a little brighter, didn't she, Adrien?" Plagg asks, when I'm in the bathroom. "I thought you didn't like the mushy love stuff," I grin at Plagg.

Fencing goes well, and I'm zipping my bag closed when I get a text from Marinette. She's waiting in the library, and I pick up my bag to go find her. My thoughts are elsewhere, and I bump into someone as I walk past. The book tumbles to the floor, and we both reach down to grab it, and then I realize its Marinette. She straightens up, putting the book on the shelf, and from my pocket I hear Plagg hiss, "Go in for the kiss!" Leaning over, like I'm reaching for a book, I gently plant a kiss on Marinette's lips.

I smile shyly at her, when my phone buzzes in my pocket. "We should probably get going," I tell her. When we get into the car, I ask my driver if we can stop at Leo's cheese store. "Ooh, coffee! I didn't have time for one this morning!" Marinette slips her hand into mine with excitement. Realizing what's she done, she pulls her hand away quickly. "Sorry." "No, I like it when we hold hands."

I hold open the door for her when we get to the cheese shop, and I notice they have cheesecake on the menu. We decided to split a piece. "Your playing Animal Crossing at home?" Marinette giggles and she takes a bite. "My dad likes it too. His favorite thing is to fish. Cat likes the game too, but he can never understand why the villagers like to exercise so much. He'd rather nap in the sun." "I could show you my island when we get to my place," I tell her. Marinette smiles widely, and I smile back. Just before we head out, I buy a small cheesecake and Marinette looks curious. "Just in case I get hungry later," I tell her, but I have other ideas for the delicious treat.

We have playing video games, and we laugh so hard, and I think this day is just about perfect. After Marinette's leaves, I head back to my room, and head over to the fridge.

"Plagg, I have something for you," I call. "For me?" Plagg comes zooming over, and his green eyes light up when I show him the cake. "Thanks for helping me with Marinette today. Though what's gotten into you, giving me love advice?" "Because Adrien," Plagg has a rare moment of shyness, "You and Marinette belong together and are just right for each other." "Thanks for being my buddy," I tell him, and I cuddle Plagg to my cheek. "Your the best Cat Noir I've ever had, Adrien. You deserve to be happy after all you do for me."
