Liberty went to her parents for the weekend. She hadn't seen them in a good couple of years.
When she got there, looked around, not much had changed. Simple village, nothing special.
Her attention was caught by the forest, she remembered her childhood years of playing, they ran close to the tree lines, jumped through ditches, played soldiers in the trenches.
Maybe she'll go for a walk there tomorrow.
The next day, she packed a large backpack and headed for the woods. Parents told her not to go too far. She giggled. What could happen to her?
Several hours passed, she was walking when she stopped , she slowly looked to the side.
- Impossible...
This broken tree had passed the fifth time. Impossible, she was walking in a straight line all the time.
There she noticed that something red was flowing out of the trees, all of them, it wasn't resin, it was blood!
She ran and ran out into the clearings ... It was the biggest mistake in her life ...
In the treetops, there were animals, every one you meet in the forest, they were in what looked like a spider's web., all dead and rotten.
There was something else ...
An unnaturally tall, pale figure, his arms were long and had a lot of joints, his legs were practically absent, his head was long, almost one and a half meters long.
Everything turned black as the figure emerged from among the trees.
She woke up in her parents' house but knew it was not a dream. Something was calling her to the forest. Her fate was sealed when she entered the forest. It belonged to this creature now, older than the oldest trees in the forest.
But before she went into the forest, into the darkness, into nothingness, she wrote it all down on a card, ending it with the words ...
For anyone reading this, when the trees are bleeding, run away. It's too late for me.
