Volume 1, Episode 1: Big Red and Little Red
"Your nephew and his team have been exceeding all expectations Qrow," Oz said, pushing up his glasses while he looked at the footage on his scroll, sipping his coffee. "You and Tai trained him well."
"Summer did most of the work…" Qrow mumbled as he knocked back a drink from his flask, but still, he couldn't contain the small smile the live footage brought him. He leaned on Oz's desk for a better look at the live cam. "But I knew Robin was that good, his teammates have surprised me."
"Mr. Moon, Acheron and Ignatian, yes, all three are catching up to his level," Oz said, as a plume of smoke went up in the forest as they watched Team RAIN in action. "However, I must say, a good portion of that may be thanks to young Mr. Rose's leadership."
"Their semblances work well together," Qrow said, watching Robin swing from a tree branch to impale a grim, before turning and firing a flaming arrow. "Robin's the eyes, Niko's the muscles, Indigo is the stealthy one, and Azure…"
A loud bang could be heard from the footage, and Qrow saw a large beowulf fall to the ground with a massive hole in its chest, before it turned to black ash. Robin had just been about to leap into action, Qrow watched his nephew laugh and wave to the one who'd take the shot.
"And Mr. Acheron may be the best sniper I've seen come through Beacon in decades," Oz said, a small smile coming to his face as he looked up at Qrow. "I dare say Qrow, Team RAIN, reminds me more and more of Team STRQ with each passing day."
A chill went up Qrow's spine and he sighed, before taking another drink. "Well, let's hope they don't turn out too much like us."
Oz looked up and seemed to realize what he'd said. The old professor sighed, before looking back down at the footage. Qrow did as well, he watched Robin wade into a group of grimm, with Niko by his side as he realized his team often did. Now and then, from the shadows, Qrow watched Indigo pop out to fire off shots from his two wings blades that folded into revolvers that fired different shots of dust. Those revolvers would turn back into winged blades on Indigo's hands, which he could throw or move around and fight near hand to hand with, blasts of dust emerged from the shadows and saved Robin and Niko from being overwhelmed.
The boy didn't wear much in terms of armor, only black shoulder pads over a dark purple sweater. Long dark purple hair was slicked back, and with the calmest look on his face, the boy took down grimm from the shadows like it was second nature.
Qrow took another drink and couldn't help but admire how perfectly suited Robin's team was for each other, how the complimented one another. Indigo fired off more dust shells from the shadows, Qrow knew the boy was from Atlas, and had some sort of connection to the Schnee's he couldn't remember off the top his head, so his use of dust wasn't surprising. His semblance of being able to move from shadow to shadow, to manipulate them, was a particularly effective way to deal with grimm.
While Robin and Niko fought at the front, Indigo attacked from the shadows, all the while sniper bullets came firing in from any grimm who'd come reinforce the pack. The cam switched to footage of Azure Acheron, perched on a nearby hill, overlooking the clearing the rest of his team fought on. He had on a long dark blue coat and laid flat on his stomach with his rifle aimed down towards the fight, three prongs of a trident underneath the rifles barrel. It could shrink down, but it doubled as a sniper and trident, and the longer Azure held the trigger, the more powerful the shot, but the more powerful the shot the longer it took to be able to shoot again.
The boy was calm, a bun of dark blue hair tied tightly behind his head. It may not have looked like much, none of Team RAIN's semblances were outwardly flashy, but they all were powerful. Azure's rifle leaned on the ground, and Qrow saw the boys other hand pressed against the ground. Robin had explained to him, that Azure's semblance let him feel vibrations in the ground, his sense of touch was so sensitive, that he was able to feel the footsteps, or vibrations of wind in the air from walking of flying grimm and people. It made for the perfect sniper, so each grimm that entered the fight then, Azure was able to pick off while Robin, Niko and Indigo dealt with the main bulk.
"Please be sure to let young Robin know how much I appreciate he and his team coming to Beacon a few weeks early for this mission," Oz said, as the battle reached a climax on the camera. "I don't know many students who'd agree."
Qrow sighed but smiled. "All you gotta do is tell Robin it'll help people. He's always looking for a fight."
"Sounds like someone that I know," Oz said, a small smirk on his face.
Qrow rolled his eyes. "He's got more of Summer in him thankfully."
Another loud bang rang out from the footage, and Qrow laughed when he saw what was happening. "Ha, I love with when they do that."
"YAAAHOOOOOOO!" A loud whoop came from the fight.
In the battle, Qrow saw Niko Moon, Robin's best-friend, the faunus had been over to visit Robin enough times that Qrow knew him quite well. He was a wolf faunus, grey ears and a bushy grey tail. He wore a grey hoodie, and a long pair of tight black pants. Niko Moon had a summoning semblance, with the ability to summon a multitude of different animals to come and aid Team RAIN in any fight they needed.
"TEAM RAIN, FLY SWATTER, YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO!" Robin yelled, and Qrow watched him shakily stand. "INDIGO YOU'RE THE DECOY!"
"WOHOOOO, YOU GOT IT BOSS!" Moon yelled, swinging his weapon above his head.
"Understood," Azure's voice said over the communication device.
"On it," Indigo's voice followed.
This time, Niko had summoned a large eagle which had swooped in to pick up him and Robin. It carried Niko and Robin high above the ground. A massive grimm had roared into the clearing, and Qrow knew it was the one they had been sent to eliminate. It was so huge that all the other grimm moved out of its way, the white bone covered from its head and read eyes down its back, two massive wings sprouting out of its lion like body. As soon as it saw the eagle Nico and Robin were riding, it took off into the air after them.
It swatted at them, but Nico piloted the eagle out of the way, and the massive grim hovered in the air. It would have gone after them, but two blades shot up from the air, and exploded a plume of icy dust. Qrow watched a small black speck appear and disappear gunshots came from Indigo's revolvers as he fell, he teleported to a closer shadow, reappeared, fired again, and made the grimm lose its mind, it flapped its wings and nearly sent Indigo flying, but the purple-haired boy's face remained steely calm as it normally did. All the while, sniper bullets peppered the grimms wings.
"Each day I am more impressed with this generation of huntresses and huntsmen," Oz commented as the grimms attention was now on the ground as it hovered. "However, Team CFVY may be the only second year team close to your nephews. I dare say they're more impressive then even some third or fourth years."
Qrow sighed and narrowed his eyes at the professor. "You're laying it on a bit thick Oz, get to the point, what do you want from them?"
Oz chuckled. "Well, it seems I'm figured out… I believe depending on how this year goes… Qrow, do you believe they would be ready to assist us in our objectives?"
Qrow stopped with the flask halfway to his mouth, he squeezed it. "I… don't know Oz. Tai's the one you'll have to ask, they are his kids, don't matter if he wasn't with Summer when she adopted him, he still thinks of Robin as his own."
"That certainly sounds like Tai," Oz said, a sigh leaving him. "You know I don't ask this lightly Qrow. Your nephew in particular, he may be Summer's child, but I see much of you in him, in more than just his looks. I believe he can do great things like you have."
This time Qrow had no problem drinking. He finished the flask and looked at Oz with another healthy sigh. "He was asking to train with me from the time he could walk, just like my one niece, but… with any luck he'll turn out nothing like me."
"NOW NICO!" Robin's voice yelled from the footage, and both Qrow and Oz turned back to watch the finale.
"YAHOOOOOO! I LOVE THIS PART! THANKS, IGGLY!" Nico yelled, patting the eagle on the head, and from high above the grimm, the faunus leapt from the birds back.
His weapon sprung to life, and Qrow was an admirer of the half-wolf's weapon. It was a double-bladed staff, that retracted back into two high power shotguns if you disconnected it at the middle. After falling, Qrow watched him pull out two dust cartridges flip them into the ends of his weapon and pull out the guns, blasting one wing of the grimm with ice. The wing froze, before Nico stuck his weapon back together and came down for a massive blow. It cleaved clean through the grimms wing, and it flailed with only one wing.
"Take the shot Azure!" Qrow heard Robin yell over the coms.
"Like shooting fish in a barrel back home…" Azure said on the radio, as Qrow watched Team RAIN's bars still all in the green next to their portraits on the multiple screens Oz had to watch the confrontation.
From above Azure, through the camera Qrow saw Azure drop an ice cartridge into his rifle. The blue-haired boy sucked in a breath and squeezed the trigger, his finger stayed pressed down, and a massive blast of ice shot towards the grimm. Sure enough it smashed into its wing, a perfectly placed shot, and the minute the shot made contact Robin sprang into action.
"KICK ITS BUTT ROBIN!" Niko yelled from the ground.
"You're clear Robin," Azure said.
"Your turn boss," Indigo added, appearing from the shadows and grabbing Niko before flashing him away.
Robin smirked standing on top of the eagle, his messy black hair blowing up in the wind. His red cape blew back straight up as well, and taking the time to smirk, he pulled out the two swords from his waist, and clicked a button on one, making a black cable shoot out and connect the two at the pommel.
A chill ran up his spine as he adjusted the dust containers, and when they came out the blades were red. The blades were curved, and Qrow couldn't help but realize how similar they were to his sister's sword. Robin's two swords were a bit shorter then Raven's, but Qrow would even dare say Robin would one day soon be better than both Brawnwin's with a sword.
He even dresses like me… kid picked a crappy role model, him and Ruby both, Qrow thought as Robin leapt from the eagle before the bird disappeared. Black pants and shoes, red cape like himself and Ruby, a dark red unzipped jacket over a white shirt.
And then, one red eye… and one silver eye. Those two eyes glowed as Robin fell and slammed his two swords together at the hilt, the cable that had connected the disappeared for a moment, before reappearing at the tips of the two blades and shooting towards each other.
Within a few seconds, Robin had a bow in his hands. His eyes glowed a combination of colors as Robin fell down towards the falling grimm.
"Celestial eyes," Ozpin said. "A fitting name for young Robin's semblance."
"I came up with it," Qrow made sure to note.
Celestial eyes were Robin's semblance, and while it wasn't outwardly flashy, it was one of the most useful ones Qrow had ever come across. He knew right now, all of Robin's enemies were glowing with a black shadow, along with him being able to see every individual blade of grass, every leaf on every tree, and anything he focused on.
And of course, the most useful part, he saw the shadows of what was to come. Sure enough, as the grimm fell, it tried to swat Robin out of the air with its claws, but Robin already knew the attack was coming and in that few seconds notice he had, Robin controlled his fall and dodged, reaching to quiver across his back, pulling back an arrow with a red tip and letting it fly.
A burst of fiery dust exploded towards the grimm and shot it faster towards the ground. It slammed down and sent up a plume of smoke. It tried to rise, but the minute its claw pulled it up to all fours again, a bright blue sword attached to a cable shot from the sky and impaled it onto the ground. The grim cried out and Robin landed with his other sword on the monsters head, stabbing it in the back, and with the click of a button, the other sword flew back to his hand. The grim roared and bucked, but Robin of course knew that was going to happen and leapt off in time. He landed in front of the beast and reconnected his two swords into a bow.
He dodged each claw that came his way, firing arrow after arrow at blinding speed, explosions of ice, fire, lightning and wind knocking the grimm off target. Finally, he unattached his bow, pulled out both swords again and as the grim reared back on its hind legs, Robin yelled and leapt, holding the cord that connected his two swords. He spun the blades and like a blue whirlwind, the blade cut off two of the grimms arms, before they shot back to Robin's hands.
At the last second, he avoided a snap of the grimms jaws and stabbed both blades into the monster's neck. It roared one last time, before with a yell and pull, Robin flung it to the ground.
As Robin's feet hit the ground, Indigo appeared from the shadows, his dark purple hair blown back with Niko next to him, his grey hair a complete mess from the wind as well. The three members of Team RAIN stopped and turned to see the grimm burst back into dust.
Niko whooped in excitement, while Indigo just scratched his nose, his mouth in a flat line.
Robin simply smiled, and reached into his back pocket to pull out his scroll. "Azure, are we clear?"
Azure's response came a second later. "I can feel a few vibrations but they're all retreating. I can also feel our ride will be here momentarily."
"Good, you hop on first," Robin said, turning to his two teammates next to him a goofy smile coming to his face next. "Team RAIN say it with me now…."
"Mission," Indigo said, scratching his ear now.
Niko practically bounced from excitement, laughing and slapping Indigo's back, before slapping Max with a high five.
"ACCOMPLISHED!" Robin and the faunus said at the same time.
Robin laughed as the two performed an elaborate handshake. "HAHA! That was awesome!"
"I know right! Azure was on point today, and then me and you kicked grimm but like always!" Niko said, turning to Azure and slapping his back again. "Haha and I can't forget about you Indy! Thanks for the save back there from the fallout!"
"Welcome," Indigo said with a yawn. Qrow learned from Robin, he was a boy of few words.
Robin laughed now and pulled out his scroll. "Ha, this is awesome, I can't wait to tell Dad about it, our first mission from Ozpin! OH, Ruby's gonna love hearing about this one! You guys wanna come over for dinner? I'll make my special ramen bowls!"
"HA do you have to even ask!?" Niko said excitedly.
"I could eat," Indigo said with another yawn.
"It's decided!" Robin said as Qrow saw the airship closing in, before his nephew went back to his scroll. "But first… I gotta tell him!"
He dialed a number Qrow couldn't see on his scroll, and he wondered who he could be calling.
Qrow's question was answered a few seconds later, when his own scroll began to buzz in his pocket. He pulled it out, and sure enough his nephew's picture was there for an incoming call.
Ozpin chuckled. "It seems young Robin is eager to impress his Uncle, you better take that."
Qrow sighed, but managed to smile, looking at Oz. "He already has… anything else for me before I head out?"
"No, not now, just go about your mission as normal," The Professor said, rising from his seat and grabbing his cane. "Good luck Qrow, good hunting."
"Thanks Oz," Qrow said, walking towards the exit. "Keep my niece and nephew safe."
Oz smiled at Qrow from across the office and stood when his own scroll rang, Qrow noticed Glinda's picture on the screen. "I promise, no harm shall come to them. I'll help them unlock their true potential."
Qrow smiled at nodded, before looking at Robin's picture on the scroll.
"Summer would be proud of you kid…" He said, before pressing the accept button and holding it up to his ear. "Hey kiddo, what's up?"
"UNCLE QROW!" Robin yelled over the scroll, and Qrow smiled as he had to pull it back from his ear. "You won't believe the size of this grimm me and the guys just took down! You got time, right?!"
Qrow laughed. "Ha… I'm about to leave for a new mission, but go ahead, why don't you tell me?"
Qrow then heard all about the fight he'd just watched, but he wasn't bothered in the slightest. It was moments like this where he forgot all about his semblance.
It was times like that, that Qrow Brawnwin felt pretty lucky.

"And then we pulled off fly swatter you remember I told you about that?! It's for flying grimm!" Robin said excitedly, almost falling out of his seat in the airship despite his seatbelt. "This one was huge dad! I turned on my semblance after it fell, and my sword hit it right in the veins of its hand, it was pinned! Then it let me see the right spot for the final blow! The rest of the guys were awesome, we were unstoppable!"
Taiyang Xio Long laughed. "Ha, it sounds like it, great job big man! Still… remember what I told you about pushing your semblance too far?"
Robin sighed but nodded and kept his smile, his dad was just worrying he knew that. "Yes, dad I know don't worry, I only pushed it for a few seconds I promise I'm being careful."
Robin knew all too well what would happen if he pushed his semblance too far, used too much of his aura to power it. His celestial eyes according to Uncle Qrow, his father, and his mother when she was alive, could be one of the most powerful semblances anyone could be granted, that was even before its final ability. Pushing it too far gave Robin a stomach and headache. It allowed him to see into a transparent world, peoples bones, veins, everything on their bodies became visible to him, that combined with seeing a few seconds into the future, it made him almost unstoppable when he pushed his eyes to the limit.
Of course, that also came with the very real possibility that if he used them for too long, he risked going blind completely. One time when he had been younger, when his semblance had first kicked in, while training with his Uncle Qrow, he pushed it too far, and couldn't see for a few hours. His mother had been worried beyond belief. Thankfully his vision had come back, but since then, he'd been sure to be careful.
He didn't care if he had been adopted, his mom had said he'd always be apart of that family.
Tai smiled and nodded. "Good, don't mean to bring down your mood. Going on missions for Oz already… I'm proud, I know your mother would be too. Took us a few years for that."
Robin was about to answer, but Niko who had been sitting next to Robin poked his head in front of his scroll.
"Haha we'll be even better then you were Mr. Xio Long!" His best-friend said, flashing that infectious smile as he put a fist to his chest. "Team RAIN will be number one!"
"I guess you could say, we'll… rain supreme!" Azure said, poking his head over from Robin's other shoulder.
Tai, Niko and Robin all sighed at the bad pun, but Azure seemed unaffected.
"Oh well, Yang would have laughed," The blue-haired sniper said. "She always laughs at my jokes."
Robin scoffed. "That's because you and my sister both laugh at anything."
"Indigo laughs sometimes too," Azure argued, looking across the ship. "Right Ind…"
Indigo only snored; his purple hood pulled up over his head as he slept in his seat.
Robin rolled his eyes, but smiled as he looked down at his dad who was laughing himself.
"Haha, well you all certainly have a better sense of humor then my team did," He said, leaning back on the couch. "So, you on your way back home now? Classes don't start for another week."
Robin smiled again, and nodded. "We are yeah. Oh yeah, I should ask first, can I bring the guys over? I told them I'd make ramen bowls."
Tai's eyes went wide, stars appearing in them for a moment, before he regained his composure. "Ha well… if it means ramen bowls then I don't see a problem. I'll get the kitchen ready and the guest room."
"I CALL THE GUEST BED!" Niko and Azure yelled at the same time, before they both started arguing over it with Robin in the center.
Robin sighed again, as Indigo's snores hit his ears. Well, at least I know Indigo will sleep anywhere, I still remember the time he fell asleep in Zwei's dog bed.
"ANYWAY!" He said, cutting off both Niko and Azure, who over Robin's shoulder proceeded to play rock, paper, scissors to decide.
Robin looked back at his dad. "What about Ruby and Yang, are they home?"
Tai shook his head. "Yang's out for a ride, seeing some friends in Vale. And Ruby just went into town, she's trying track down a copy of the new 'Weapons' magazine you know how much she loves it."
Robin's eyes widened, a huge smile coming to him. "OH! I already got it for her! I was gonna surprise her before we got called out for this mission, it's under my bed. I'll give them both a call before- huh? One sec dad."
He pulled back his scroll just as Azure won the rock paper scissors match much to Niko's dismay, his wolf ears drooping as Azure pumped his fist in celebration. Robin felt his scroll vibrate, and both his teammates looked over his shoulder.
"Oh, it's Ruby!" Niko said with a laugh. "Ha, that's a relief, you know you could… maybe ask her if I could-."
"You're not staying in the spare bed in Ruby's room Niko," Robin said with narrowed eyes. "And before you say anything, no, I don't care."
"But I'd never do anything!" Niko begged. "Ruby's like my own little sister, I just don't want to have the floor again!"
"You shouldn't pick rock every time then," Azure said, going to his own scroll with a smile.
Niko sighed in defeat and Robin tried not to laugh. He adjusted his red cape and went back to the call with his dad quickly.
"Ruby's calling now dad, I'll call Yang after her, then call you back!" He said, waving to him one last time.
Taiyang nodded with a smile. "Got it, talk to you soon big man!"
Niko was still stewing from his loss of the guest bed, while Indigo snored, and Azure was in the middle of playing a fighting game on his scroll when Robin hung up. Quickly, he went and answered the call from his little sister. It was only an audio call, which he thought was weird, considering that she always video called him. They liked to talk face to face, especially since his first year at Beacon the year prior.
"Hello, big red speaking?" He joked as he answered the call.
"Ha… um, little red calling in," Ruby said, a nervous tone to her voice. "So, Robin um… how was… how was the mission?"
Robin's big brother senses went off at an alarming rate. "It went… well. Ruby, are you okay?"
"HA, okay?! I am great how um… how are you?" She said again.
"Hi Ruby!" Niko yelled over his shoulder.
Ruby chuckled nervously. "Ha… hi Niko. So, Robin um… something may have happened."
"What?!" He said, his heart rate rising, anyone who touched Ruby risked an arrow in the eye within two seconds of the infraction. "Are you okay, did something happen, Dad said you went into Vale, are you hurt?!"
"No, no, I'm fine," She said quickly, and Robin sighed.
"Oh man… you scared me sis," He said, calming down and leaning back in his seat. "So, what is it? If it's important, why didn't you call Dad or Yang, they're probably closer."
"Ha well Yang's… busy with her friends," His sister explained over the scroll. "And I didn't call Dad because well I… um… ha… it's funny when you think about it! I… may… have caused multiple explosions in downtown Vale, fought off a gang leader and lady throwing fire from an airship before being saved by a huntress and then arrested hahaha, hilarious right?! Um… Right?! Robin?"
Robin took a minute to digest what his sister had just told him, before decided it really was possible for everything she just said to have happened.
But that didn't mean his chest didn't practically explode the minute she finished.
"YOU WERE WHAT?!" He yelled, unbuckling the seatbelt and rushing the open edge of the plan, luckily enough they were right over Vale. "IF THEY SO MUCH AS TOUCH YOU I'LL CAUSE MORE EXPLOSIONS!"
"Um Robin?" Ruby tried to say, but Robin was already at the edge of the airship. "I should tell you too, it was a huntress from Beac-."
"Send me your location, I'll be right there!" He said, hanging up the phone before she could finish and turning to his two teammates who were awake. "You guys head back to my place, Ruby got arrested for blowing up streets in Vale, I need to go and get her."
Naturally, neither Azure of Niko seemed surprised by the news.
"Can you pick up stuff for milkshakes while you're there?" Azure asked, not looking up from his scroll game.
"Sure," Robin said. "Anything else?"
Niko shook his head, and he even laughed. "HA, tell Ruby I said good job when you see her!"
Robin sighed and turned to the open air. "I swear, you're all bad influences. Tell my dad I'll be back in a few hours!"
And with that, he pulled out both his swords, clicking the button for the cord to shoot out and connect them.
After that, he heard a ding of Ruby sending her location, before leaping down into the air around Vale.

Ruby Rose wouldn't hold it against the huntress. She had destroyed quite a few buildings, but she still didn't think she did anything wrong. The huntress Ms. Goodwich clearly thought otherwise, but Ruby would forgive her, she was simply following the rules.
A good hunter or huntress fights to protect people no matter the rules! That's my motto! That's what Robin had told her after he came back home for a visit a month into his first semester at Beacon last year. She was trying to follow that example, despite Robin always telling her, he thought she'd be better then him and Uncle Qrow one day, she knew she was a long, long way from that.
"I hope you realize that your actions tonight will not be taken lightly young lady!" The huntress said, stepping in front of the desk with her scroll. "You put not only yourself but others in danger!"
"But they started it!" Ruby argued back, trying to not wither under the huntresses' intense eyes.
"If it were up to me, you'd be sent home! With a pat on the back…" She said, stopping with her whip, and Ruby smiled, excited for a moment before she got glared at again, "and a slap on the wrist!"
Ruby yelped and shot back in her chair. She chewed at her lip, she really hoped that Robin hadn't been too far away when she called him. His mission with his team hadn't been very far outside of Vale, and he was reporting back to Beacon after he was finished before coming home, he had to have been close. Even if he knew he couldn't get her out of trouble, Ruby knew it was only a matter of time before he barged into find her.
That was what Robin did, she loved him for it he did, however, when it came to her and Yang, he tended to shoot first ask questions later.
The huntress sighed, her green eyes looking down at the scroll. "Luckily for you however… there is someone who wants to meet you."
Ruby didn't have time to ask, before the door to the room opened, and an older man walked in. He walked with a black cane, and held a tray of cookies in his hand, which made Ruby's mouth water, she was starving.
"Ruby Rose…" The older man said, coming to the table and leaning down to look right at her eyes, holding he cookies in his hand. "You have silver eyes…."
The man went on before Ruby could say anything. "So… where did you learn to do this?"
He gestured behind him, to the footage of her fight in the streets and Ruby chuckled. "Ha… um… Signal academy?"
The old man scoffed. "They taught you to use one of the most dangerous weapons ever designed?"
Ruby stiffened, her eyes still on the cookies. "Ha well um… one teacher in particular. OH, and my brother taught be a lot too, he doesn't use a scythe, but I trained with him every day! You may know him, um… Robin Rose?"
She normally didn't like using Robin's name to get her out of things, it never even worked, but sometimes she simply liked showing off she was related to him. If they were really teachers from Beacon, they'd have to know him. Robin and Team RAIN were practically celebrities at Beacon. They'd taken on a high-level mission on their own without the teachers knowing in his first year and stopped a massive hoard of grimm from stampeding through Vale.
Ruby wasn't afraid to admit how much she loved having a practically famous brother. Her friends at Signal asked about him all the time, one even said he was 'cute'.
That was ridiculous. Robin? Cute? She knew why they thought that it was because they'd never heard him snore in the mornings and tangled in his blankets with drool down his chin.
The old man laughed now. "Ha… don't worry Ms. Rose, I am very well aware of your older brothers' talents. You have silver eyes… just like him."
"He only has one, but people tell us we look alike all the time," Ruby nervously laughed, maybe if she could tell them happy family stories, they'd feel bad and let her go. "He's adopted, but people say all the time how much we look like each other! It's almost like-."
"Yes, yes, I am well aware Ms. Rose," The old man said with an amused smile, setting the cookies down in front of her. And with a drooling smile Ruby started stuffing them in her mouth. As she did, the old man smirked at her. "As for your weapon… you see I only know one other scythe wielder of that skill… a dusty old crow."
"Mhm… that's my uncle!" Ruby said, thinking maybe her luck was changing, but she realized her mouth had been full and she nearly choked trying to swallow before chuckling under their eyes. "Ha… sorry. But that's my Uncle Qrow! He's a teacher at Signal, I was complete garbage before he took me under his wing! He trained Robin too, we trained together, and I'm all like hiya! Whoosh! Wham!"
She chopped her hands and made believe that she was chopping that gang leader. One day she'd be a huntress and save people like her dad, Uncle and Robin, each day she got closer, she could feel it!
The old man smirked and sat down in the seat across from her. "I see… and what's an adorable young girl like you doing at a school designed to train warriors?"
Ruby stopped for a moment, but the old man's eyes were inviting and she couldn't sense any malice in them. She chuckled, her chest warming up as she smiled.
"I… want to be a huntress!" She said, feeling her eyes get wide as she smiled. "I want to be like Robin, Uncle Qrow, dad, my mother."
"So you want to fight monsters?" The old man asked, his hands folded in front of me.
"Yeah!" She said, a determined smile coming to her. "I only have two more years of training left at Signal, then I want to apply to Beacon! My older sister is already going this year, and by the time I get there, it'll be Robin's last year, I want to be on a team that's even better then Team RAIN! And then I can go to school with my brother and sister, because they want to be a huntsman and huntress and protect people because our parents always said to protect people and we all said, 'hey may as well make a career out of it'! I mean the police are great and all, but huntsman and huntresses are just so much more romantic and exciting, cool and just ahhh you know?!"
Ruby's heartrate had gone up, still the idea of being a huntress still filled her with glee like that to that day and even in a police station she felt just giddy! However, the blonde huntress just narrowed her eyes at her, but the man next to her only smiled. Ruby contained her excitement and chuckled nervously as the man leaned back in his chair, his smile never fading.
"Ms. Rose… do you know who I am?" He asked, leaning forward. "I would hope young Robin mentioned me at least once."
Ruby chuckled; she'd realized a few minutes prior. "You're… Professor Ozpin! Oh um… Robin's finished his mission by the way. Oh! Nice to meet you by the way… sir!"
Ozpin chuckled and met her eyes. "Haha, I am aware of Mr. Rose's success, he and Team RAIN continue to exceed my expectations…. Your brother has also spoke at great length about you and your sister."
Ruby smiled and her face got. "Ha… I love my brother, I want to be just as good as him… no, I want to be even better! So that way, we can save people together!"
"I see…" Ozpin said, a warm smile still on his face. "And to do that… you wish to come to my school as well Ms. Rose?"
Ruby's heart pounded. "With all my heart…"
Ozpin smiled and leaned back, he looked at the huntress above him, who sighed and nodded.
The old professor turned back to her and nodded. "Well… alright then. Ms. Rose… welcome to Beac-."
"RUBY I'M HERE DON'T SAY ANYTHING WITHOUT A LAWYER!" A new voice said as the door was slammed open. A rush of white, red and black rushed forward so fast Ruby thought her brother had somehow copied her semblance.
"OHHHH Robin… you… you're crushing me…" She croaked as her brother picked her up out of the chair and began squeezing her, before dropping her back into the seat to start checking her for any sort of injury.
"Are you okay?! I came fast as I could, I jumped out of the airship as soon as I could!" He said patting her arms, poking her shins and examining her face. "Oh man when I find out who attacked you, they are going to be so sorry! The full wraith of Team RAIN will reign down upon them and-."
"Robin, Robin, I'm fine!" Ruby said, chuckling and smiling as he stood up, a relieved look on his face. His one silver eyes, and one dark red eye were trained on her with worry. She smiled, before what he said registered in her mind. "Wait… you jumped out of the airship?"
"Of course, I did! My baby sister was in trouble I had too!" He said, squeezing a hug around her neck again. After that, he finally narrowed his eyes went to spin around. "Alright, now my little sister stopped a violent robbery, where do you get off-…. OH! P…Professor… Ozpin…? Um… uh… mission accomplished… sir?"
Robin quickly rushed to salute, a nervous smile on his face. Before he turned, and his face went beat red and his words stuttered.
"Ha… oh um… Ms… Ms. Goodwich!" Her brother said, chuckling as he leaned a hand on the table and leaned forward, even winking at the blonde huntress which Ruby gagged at. "Ha… you look as… um… ravishing as ever Ms. Goodwich, um what… uh… what brings Beacon's loveliest professor to Vale this fine evening?"
"Ugh Robin, gross…" Ruby said with another gag.
The blonde huntress narrowed her eyes and smacked the table with her whip and Robin jumped back with a yelp and stumbled, falling into the chair she'd been sitting in and onto the floor. She sighed but couldn't hold in a laugh. Yes, her dear brother really was a second-year prodigy that led Beacon's best team.
"Mr. Rose, I don't know how many times I must inform you of this," The huntress said, her arms crossed as Robin got to his feet. "I am your teacher, you shall refrain from such comments, am I clear?"
"Ha… come on I… I can't tell my favorite professor how great she looks?" Robin said, groaning as he rubbed his head, Ruby helping him to his feet. After he was there, he looked at Ozpin, who had been thoroughly amused by the situation. "Professor Ozpin! Um… sorry sir, I'm sure Niko will have given someone the report back at school, I just heard Ruby had gotten arrested and I-."
"Please, don't apologize Mr. Rose," Ozpin said, smiling as he leaned back in his chair. Ruby and her brother suddenly both stood at attention as the Professor gestured towards Ruby. "It's actually a good thing you arrived when you did. I was just about to inform Ms. Rose here… that I've decided to accept her into Beacon for the upcoming year."
Ruby chuckled nervously, trying to hide the redness in her face. Had this all really just happened? She was three years younger than Robin, two younger then Yang… but it was like a dream come true! She'd be at Beacon with her brother and sister!
And Robin seemed just as excited. He floundered for a minute, a massive smile coming to his face. It made one come to Ruby's face as well.
"Is he being serious?! GAHHHH little red!" He yelled, grabbing her up and squeezing her as well. She laughed this time and hugged him back. Like she was even younger then she already was, he spun her, and they laughed with each other.
Finally, he set her down and Ruby laughed. "Hahaha, big, red and little red, monster slayers extraordinaire!"
She said the word in a drawn-out way and smiled as Robin practically bounced up and down on his toes.
He hugged her again and Ruby croaked this time. "AHHH THIS IS AMAZING! Both of my baby sisters are going to Beacon with meeeeee!"
Ruby laughed, and hugged him back, a smile on her face. It was everything she'd dreamed off… she just hoped it wouldn't be more than her family bargained for.
A/N: Hey everyone! So, i put the announcement on my profile, but i'll put it at the start of this story as well. I have decided since i have a couple fics with only 1-3 chapters written and always have a hard time writing them all, and felt bad about not updating certain ones, that i am simply going to post ALL of them. I worried so much about getting a good amount of chapters done, that i really find it hard to have FUN when writing my fics. So, i'm posting all of them, and will update them periodically. I'm a University student who has to use my time wisely. So while i write everyday, i'll be updating whatever of the stories i'm currently more motivated to write, so i hope you all can understand that decision, it's best for me, that being said i hope you all enjoy my updaters still!
NOW, onto this story, welcome to the world of remnant and RWBY! RWBY is a fandom i joined about a year ago thanks to my brother, i NEVER thought i'd be into a show like this but here i am haha. As with all my stories, they are OC stories! A lot of people do it, so here i am with my own RWBY universe team, team RAIN! (Ik it ignores the color rule but it's all i could think of xD) Team RAIN is made up of 4 OCs of my own creation who i all hope you enjoy and could really imagine in the world of Remnant.
Robin Rose, Azure Acheron, Indigo Ignation, and Niko Moon, each of them have their own distinct personalities and back stories, i can't wait for you all to see them! Also, they won't be the ONLY OCs i introduce, so look out for them!
The main pairing in this is going to be OCxWeiss, which OC you ask? Robin of course haha, other then that i really don't have anything concrete and set right now, leave who you think the other pairings should be below!
I don't have much to say, except i'm excited for you all to read the story of Team RAIN, i'm very very hyped to get this one going :)
