Episode 1-New Gifts, New Friends, New Problems Pt.1

Now (Present Day-Fall Season)-, in Columbia University, in New York City…

Today was friday in the morning in the Metroville Academy of TSMH High to Columbia University which was about 30 to an hour drive from the bus to the University, there was a bus for Peter's science class, their teacher and a tour guy, along with three more buses that had come in this early morning which was only 7:23 Am. The whole thing starts only at 9:30 Am.

Peter was outside with his hoodie and same clothing but had his one-strap messenger sack, he was seeing if Harry was by or not. He didn't see his friend yet but kept looking as these other pairs of students came out of each bus, doing roll calls and counting students one by one, which is slow and crazy, but hey, that's the teacher's problem. Soon they all went to talking, almost all of these students, introducing or saying hey and getting to groups.

Most stuck out were these students in these gray navy-blue blazers and red pants or skirts in different uniforms or well matching outfits for opposite genders. A few had backpacks or sacks and such. Peter just kept looking around and minding his business. Until one of the girls from his school looked at him, yep, it was the famous-popular girl in his school, the red-haired beauty Mary Jane Waston. She waved at him, which he did but…it wasn't for him as he turned and saw she was waving at her twin-sister, Katarina Waston, who had same red-hair and green eyes as Mary but has a scar on her left eye from an "accident" many said or the rumors. Peter sighed and walked with his class and then a well-looking car came around and the doors opened and he saw Harry coming out, "Hey Pete! Sorry, I was late!" Then someone taller than Harry came out running to him with a bag, "Oh, crap. My bag, Thanks!"

"(Chuckling) Watch it, kid. You may need it." He turns to Peter, "Aren't you his friend? Parker, was it?"

Peter nodded and turned to Harry, "Oh! Yeah, uh, this is Eric Kruger. My bodyguard and personal friend of my Dad." Harry said and Eric nodded. Peter gave a smile and a handshake, which Eric replied with a handshake as well.

"Nice to meet you, sir." Peter said.

"Same to buddy. If I'm not mistaken…You're the science boy, are you? Harry and his Dad said many great things about you." Eric said. And sheepishly Peter nodded a bit. Feeling happy or hearing praise from someone is good for once in a while. "Well, keep it up, boyo. Soon, Oscorp might hire you one day. See you later, Harry, I'll be here if things go south." Eric nodded and left the two boys as they ran to their classes. Their teacher, Miles Warren, took roll calls and used a boom mic.

"Alright! Warren Class, My Class, get here with me as I get names! As I call your name, take a piece of paper right here and this will give you an assigned group!" Warren said as they heard other teachers from the different schools said the same thing.

Then one by one everyone's name was called, it took awhile for Peter to be called and he took a piece of paper to find out who his group was. As he look and saw the following names:

Peter Parker (Academy of Tech, Science, Math and History of Tomorrow, Metroville)

Harry Osborn (Academy of Tech, Science, Math and History of Tomorrow, Metroville)

Violet Parr (Western View Junior High, Metroville)

Lux Crowngurad (Valoran Academy High, Valoran City)

Jinx Fable (Valoran Academy High, Valoran City)

Hiro Hamada (Institute of Technology, San Fransokyo)

Richard Grayson (Kingdom High School, Gotham City)

Peter raised an eyebrow underneath his glasses at this. He wasn't troblued, just confused on why these names and schools are…different. Or why pair each other if they are from different schools? He shrugged his shoulders and found Harry who had a similar reaction like Peter's a few moments ago. "So, you saw who we are pairing with? Even one who's in college."

"Wait! In college?!" Then Peter double checked the school and city, "What the-?! Someone is from San Fransokyo? And they're in the top tech schools in the world?!" Peter said, a bit loudly. So, someone is like a genius here?

"But, we're on the East Coast. San Fransokyo is on the West Coast. Well, we might as well find these guys." Harry said and Peter nodded. They walked through crowds of students trying to get into groups or messing with each other or teenager stuff. But the bump into a teen-boy, a bit taller than Peter and Harry, and seemed like an athlete a little-bit, he turned around, he had short-hair clean brown hair and blue eyes.

"Oh, my bad. I didn't mean to get in your guys' way." He said and they both nodded.

"Yeah, it's fine but, um, we're looking for Richard Grayson? Do you go to this school?" Peter asked and showed the papar, which the boy did the same and looked back at Harry and Peter.

"Hehe, you guys found me. Yeah, the name's Richard Grayson. But everyone calls me Dick. Don't get it the wrong way, that's how my folks have been calling for years." Dick said.

"Oh, cool. Nice to meet you. I'm, uh, Peter and this is Harry. We're both from Metroville." Peter said and Harry nodded and they shook hands.

"Well, nice to meet you too, boys. Well, let's find our missing other group members. I think they go to this school here…" Dick pointed to where two of these girls go to the same school and must the one's wearing a school outfit, they found two girls with the same papers as everyone. One had the same uniform, in a navy-blueish gray and red-skirt with white-stockings on and black shoes, but she had pink eyes and hair that was both pig-tails and ponytail hair that was long. The same girl had the same outfit but she was wearing black-sports like shorts under her red-skirt with long red hair and red eyes, almost rebel-like.

The pink-haired girl noticed the three of them and she and her red-hair friend came, "Hi! Are you guys going by these names, here?" She then gave the paper to them, which they nodded and she smiled, "Great! I'm Luxana or Lux for short! And this is Jinx!" Lux said and pointed to the Jinx girl, which she waved with a smile or smirking a bit.

"Yeah, eh, nice to you, guys. So…you guys from Valoran City?" Harry asked and the two girls nodded.

"Heck yeah, we both, "Jinx placed her arm around Lux, "been living there for AGES, now. Kinda refreshing coming to Metro city. Though, kinda dull." Jinx said and giggled a bit.

"Yeah, it's, uh, kinda sucks living here. But hey, it's a bit cheaper here than Valoran city to be honest. No offense." Peter said.

"Guys, guys, I live in Gotham. Highest crime rates and the city that is 2x times expensive to live. Even jobs aren't hiring as much. *Whew!* You guys are lucky." Dick said and they all nodded and felt bad for Grayson. Gotham hasn't been…good. Even though they claim to say that The Dark Knight or Batman still roams the streets at night, pretty much breaking the laws but hey, he is the most loyal hero to his city, not letting this law stop him.

"Oh, yeah, yeah we are. Um, anyway, nice to meet you guys! And we'll be working together. I haven't seen this before, I thought it was Oscorp?" Lux said.

"Yeah, Oscorp is Oscorp. Well, much of the experiment and the research team is from Oscorp. It is huge. Pretty huge. It has over 2 HQ buildings. Here in New York and San Fransokyo, while having multiple warehouses. And my Dad owns the company, just fyi." Peter said and Harry nodded.

"Wow, such info we needed here. Thanks guys." Jinx sarcastically said and then laughed a bit.

"Jinx! Don't be rude!" Lux said and pouted her cheeks a bit, which was adorable. Even Dick chuckled.

"Rude? That was a compliment, silly!" Jinx said. They chatted a few and started to look for the last two students, they eventually found the last two by everyone going to the Oscorp building, which wasn't the building but a company that is owned by Oscorp. Then they got the last two students.

"So, Hiro and Violet. Hiro's the smart one?" Dick said and he slowly nodded. He was Hiro Hamada. He was shorter than everyone, almost the same height as Lux, he had long-black messy hair, in a gray-blueish hoodie in beige-khaki shorts and red converse shoes. He was a mix of Japanese-American.

"Huh-? Oh, yeah, I uh, yeah. I guess you can say that." Hiro said, a bit awkwardly but sociable.

"Hmph. Science guys, huh? Cool." Violet said. Violet Parr was her name, she was taller, maybe the same almost height as Dick or Harry a bit, she had long-dark purple hair, it covered one side of her face, so we can only see one side of her face and eye. In a simple gray-sweater and pants with sneakers.

"Well, this is our little gang for a while now, huh?" Jinx said.

"Yep, not too bad I would. Although, it is nice." Harry said.

"Better than Gotham, but hey, gotta get out of my space and meet new folks." Dick said, and they nodded.

"Still, Hiro, you're only 15 years old and going to college? Let alone the top tech schools? That's…awesome!" Peter said and Hiro weakly chuckled a bit.

"Hehe, yeah, thanks. I've have a thing or two with tech, mostly robotics and machines. Whatever needs to be fix or I can make something new or break things, hehe. So, uh, you're top of your class?" Hiro asked and Peter nodded.

"Oh, heck yeah! Pete's been Top 1 in our science class, let alone everyone in science class or topics! He was A honor roll all through middle-school and now.!" Harry said.

" *Whistle!* Damn, nerd guy, huh?" Dick said and patted Peter's back a bit, "A genius here. Two geniuses. The only thing I'm good at is just gymnastics." Dick said.

"Yeah? Prove it. We got good gymnastics in Metroville." Harry said, in which Dick did a backflip and landed on his one hand, doing a whole back-flip handstand. Which shook and shocked everyone. "Wow…"

"Oh! That was cool! But…does it, uh, hurt a bit?" Lux said and Dick shook his head.

"Nope. Not at all. Been doing this as a kid." Dick said.

"Awesome. Could you think we can swap places, , so I could pass gym class, please?" Jinx asked, which got a few snickers and giggles.

"Uh, mylady, I would humbly declare your offer." Dick said.

"Uhhhhhhh…okie-dokie…" Jinx said.

"So, is this where we go, now?" Hiro said, snapping everyone's attention. They nodded and saw a huge chunk of students here at the entrance of Columbia University, one of where Oscorp part-team researchers are, a school for the science and biology, a bit prestigious or an elite-ivy school, due most of the fundings is from Oscorp and to get in you must have a higher GPA and best scores on the standardized tests in America, which for Peter and Hiro, not a problem.

Then now they get in as a tour or co-head of the Science Department in Columbia University came, "Hello, all students and welcome to Columbia University, in New York. How was traffic? Bad? I can imagine. You students don't have the idea of how honored to see if not one, or last, biggest companies in America in the field of Science. You're in one, if not many schools funded by Oscorp and their wonderful team of experts. Please, please, come and come. Please, Mrs. Li, show these wonderful bright students our latest research!" The man said and nodded as a woman who was asian smiled and took all of these students in a big, big lab room and a scope in the center.

Many scientists were in their stations one by one, on computers, in groups, writing papers and doing a few projects, even one testing an A.I. in the far left back that was huge and picking large containers. "What you are is one, if not, many of Oscorp research that has been in works in the last 10 years in hope of creating a new subspecies of the arachnid family. This here holds over 32,000 known species of spiders in the world. All in different classes and families." Mrs. Li said, and as it showcases spiders in different boxes with different abilities, even a few that weren't spiders at all, mostly a few scorpions and ticks.

"E-Eww, that is kinda gross…" Jinx said, looking at the spiders, even Lux made a disgusted face and nodded.

"Dude, this is both weird as heck but cool. Wait, spiders are insects right?" Dick said.

"Uh, no. Spiders and even scorpions and a few lesser known are from the arachnid family. Yes, they can be seen as insects, but they have abilities almost better than most insects, as in making webbing and more strength of their size which surpasses all other insects.." Peter said, catching everyone's attention, even the lady, the bullies aka Flash snicker and mock Peter, which got Harry and even Dick glare at them.

"Ah, someone knows they research as well? Wonderful. And you are?" Mrs. Li asks Peter.

"Oh! I'm, uh, P-Peter. Peter Parker. I, uh, I've been looking at the insect families for science class and it stuck with me for a-awhile now." Peter said, stuttering but showing intell on spiders which pleased .

"Keep up the good work, Mr. Parker. Now, onto…" Mrs. Li leads the class to each special case of spiders. Showing off each set of abilities, one by one and explaining. Peter and his group did keep up with their class but looked at the machine in the middle.

"You know, that is, if not the most advanced electron microscope on the Eastern seaboard." Peter said.

"Why is…that big?" Violet said.

"Well, it helps to see the DNA of the smallest of the smallest cells on anything. Even check bugs that are small." Peter said and Violet nodded, though didn't really get what Peter was saying.

"Pete, you're, eh, not speaking English again." Harry said and patted Peter's back and he shook his head in embarrassment.

"Y-Yeah, crap, sorry." Peter said and Harry nodded.

"Yeah I get into my rumblings like that…it's eh, a new language for us nerds, huh?" Hiro said.

"Don't worry, guys. We may not be nerds but it's still interesting to see what you guys know about, eh, insects! Or bio! Or tech!" Lux said.

"Hehe, yeah, thanks, um, Lux." Peter said and she nodded happily and Jinx just rolled her eyes and smiled.

Then getting one to another case of spiders with scorpions, Peter decided to take his phone with permission to take a photo, one did was missed by another bully from Lux's school and they backed away, so Peter decided to take another before going to last cases of spiders. "And right here is what Oscorp has been doing, even from the last 5 years, we have been able to turn each spider from each case along with two DNA samples of scorpions and turn these 15 genetically designed spiders."

Then it showed all 15 genetically designed spiders that were the color of red, blue with an orange-ring, however one girl that was familiar to Peter and Harry from whom they have seen with the same school outfit of Lux and Jinx with her fox-eyes and tail, "Uh, ma'am, I'm sorry but there are only 14. There is no 15." Ahri said and Mrs. Li came and saw one box that was empty and gave a confused look.

"Huh, that is…odd. Perhaps it died? Hmm, I will have to notify the team that brought it here. But in the meantime check in with our top scientist team and again thank you all for this wonderful visit." Mrs. Li said and everyone explored the lab in group, even their group went their ways and went to their class and school as Peter and Harry were together.

"Dude, you should talk to her." Harry whispered. Which made Peter turn at him with eyes-widen in his glasses.

"What?! Dude, we're on a field trip!" Peter whispered back.

"Dude, I saw her looking at you when you talked a bit, she seemed like she liked how you say your science stuff! Go impress her!" Harry whispered until Miles Warden did drag Harry away to talk with him as Harry gave a thumbs up and Peter sighs and with a bit more courage walked up to her in a "cool-manner" which he innerly-cringe at himself from doing but was next to her.

"S-So, uh, *Ahem!* So, Miss. Ahri, how did you like the, eh, field trip?" Peter said, in a "cool-guy" voice which she just giggles from and Peter cusses at himself.

"It was going well. And hey, don't be shy, I may be pretty but I can be humble…a little bit." Ahri said and Peter relaxed himself, "So, you're, Peter, right? Or just Mr. Parker?"

"Peter is fine. Y-Yeah, I, eh, enjoy looking at topics like this. Weird, yes, but it's a bit interesting." Peter said and Ahri nodded.

"I don't think it's weird. I mean, sure, coming from a fox like me, but it's actually interesting. But never knew Scorpions were in the same family as spiders. Why's that?" Ahri turned to Peter with her beautiful yellow-golden fox-like eyes at Peter which he blushed a bit.

"Well…with their strength and spiders they can carry w-weights more times of their size. Mostly spiders with their webs. And scorpions of their tails. They even drag small mammals like rats or squirrels when they, you know, sting them with their tails of poison to…eat them, hehe." Peter said and chuckled a bit and she did too.

"Yeah. Kinda cool and sad at the same time." Ahri said and Peter nodded as they looked at the spiders again, "Neat they can make two different species in the same class family into one."

"Yeah. Yeah, pretty, pretty cool. So, uh, I don't want to make you feel weird about it but…could I get a photo of you? I mean! For the project I have to do for my class! S-Sorry…" Peter said and Ahri nodded.

"Sure! I don't mind at all. Just don't make me look ugly, Peter!" Ahri said and got to a student posing in front of the glass spiders.

"That is impossible." Peter joked a bit and took out his phone and took a first shot of her of the spiders.

Then again with a different pose and it was Peter's turn, he got to a stance and place his right hand, "Arlight, Peter, and-"

With a click it was taken until a spider from nowhere jumped out and bit Peter's hand, causing him to scream and check his hand as the spider jumped off and ran to a corner. Peter looked at his hand, it was red, and Ahri gave his phone back and checked on him. "Peter! Are you okay?!"

"Y-Yeah…I'm, uh, f-f-fine…" Peter dozed out and fell down on the floor. Ahri screamed for the people and Peter's teacher came, nearly everyone came. Even Lux, Harry, Dick, Hiro, Jinx and Hiro came by Peter and tried to wake him up as he fully blacked out.

New York City, Oscorp…

"...as of now there was an incident in the Columbia Campus lab. Their schools were on a field trip made by your son and a few board of directors. A spider from our department was out and bit one of the students." A man said to Norman who was standing and looking at the window but until a mention of the spider bit a student, Norman turned around.

"What do you mean, spider? As in our and by OUR specimen?" Norman said, staring at his assistant, who was sweating bullets by his look that was very insane.

"U-Uhh, y-yes sir…it said t-t-t-that from the report the box that we moved to the labs was broken and it got out. W-We're trying to investigate the i-issue." The Assistant said. Norman sighed and turned back to the window in his thoughts. Then he looked back at his Assistant.

"Who is the student that was bit by our spider?" Norman said and the Assistant looked at his tablet and pulled up the name.

"The student is Peter Parker. He is a freshman in Metroville. Same school where your son goes." The Assistant said. Norman hums in thought by that. 'Peter Parker? Hmm, his son is alive and got bit. *Chuckling* "He's currently going to the hospital. What…should we do, sir?"

"Simple, fire the floor manager and those who crack those boxes on the spot, now. Also…pick up the tab if the bill comes." Norman said that made his Assistant raise an eyebrow and looked confused.

"But…legally that is an admission of guilt, sir. Also, they will sue, maybe at the school or us!" His Assistant said and Norman chuckled loudly.

"Please, they don't have that much money. I know who they are rather than them knowing themselves. While you're at it, send in a nice-fruit basket and cake for the trouble. I want to keep an eye on Peter Parker. Get to it." Norman said and his Assistant nodded and went off as Norman took a sip of his coffee.
