The Rise of Team's RAIN & RWBY

Volume 1, Episode 4: Team RAIN Deploy!

"Okay Robin… just relax, keep your head up straight," He said, adjusting his posture as the ramp for the airship came down. "How should I open conversations? 'Hey, I'm Robin how are you?' Would that be weird? Oh man, I'm talking to myself again…"

He mentally smacked himself as he tightened the straps on his backpack and pulled the handle up on his one suitcase. The rest of his stuff was already supposedly at Beacon, he just hoped they didn't lose anything. Thankfully he had been allowed to bring both his swords with him, they were attached at his waist now, he felt naked without them.

The ramp finally hit the ground, and people started filing out in front of him and Robin sucked in a sharp breath.

"Okay, like Yang said, plus one friend is a 100% increase lets start with that," He mumbled to himself, wishing that he had been born only a year later, that way he could at least have one of his sisters here with him.

Just look around Robin, who seems friendly? Oh man, am I really looking for friends like I'm at a store shopping?! Ruby and Yang will never let me live it down, he thought, biting his lip as he had chosen the worse part of the airship, the very back. He hadn't really had that many friends back at Signal, spending most of his time with Ruby, his Uncle or Dad training, so the few people he did know probably wouldn't consider him a 'friend'.

Most just saw him as that one kid who wore a cape and looked like Professor Brawnwen. Robin tugged at his cape like he did when he was normally nervous and sucked in another deep breath.

Okay, come on Robin, just pick someone! He urged himself, and took a step forward, seeing a girl with long dark brown hair next to him, a pair of sunglasses, and no luggage but a purse. Just do it! Say hello!

"Ha, um, hello!" He forced out of his mouth, stepping up next to her. "Uhhh… day nice it isn't?!"

YOU IDIOT YOU CAN'T EVEN SAY WORDS RIGHT, YOU'RE HOPELESS!

She didn't seem to realize Robin was talking to her at first, she turned and looked shocked. Slowly, she pulled down her sunglasses ever so slightly to reveal brown eyes, which seemed to stare through him. Robin shriveled; her purse also had what looked like spikes on it. Oh man, what have I gotten myself into… don't back out now, keep it up!

"What… are you saying?" She asked, pushing her sunglasses back up "Do I know you?"

"No! Just um… well, introducing myself!" He said, hastily holding his hand out. "Robin Rose! It's nice to meet you…."

"Coco…" She said, looking at his hand, and then to his clothes, and much to Robin's horror she looked even more perplexed. "Are you…wearing a cape?"

Robin pushed the cape behind him and chucked nervously. "Ha yeah I am! Just you know um… trying to be a hero! Gotta look the part!"

"It has holes in it," Coco said, as the sun began streaming into the airship.

"Um y…yeah," Robin laughed looking at the dark red cape behind him. "I suppose it does! It's well, kinda old and… well I don't know how to sew you see!"

"Right…" Coco said, looking out the door. "Well… goodbye."

"Uh, bye!" Robin said, waving like an idiot as Coco gave a hesitant wave, before muttering the word 'cape', under her breath and walking out of the airship.

Robin deflated like a balloon as he watched her go. "That… didn't exactly go as planned."

He had thought it would be easy, he had friends back at Signal of course… all though not that many. His best-friends were Ruby and Yang, the latter of which loved him of course, but had dozens of her own friends, even Ruby had her own group she spent time with back at their old combat school. Robin had been so focused on his dream, being a hero, a hero like his mother, his dad, his Uncle, that combined with the fact he… just wasn't good with people, Beacon was a terrifying prospect in some regards.

"Still… everyone deserves a chance, that's what mom always said," He said to himself, sucking a breath back in and looking at the tiny rose necklace he wore. "I'm gonna be just like her, dad, Uncle Qrow, and this is where it starts! Come on Robin you can do this!"

"Is… that guy talking to himself?" A girl said as she walked past with a group of other new students.

"I think he is, boy, what a spaz," A guy said next to her.

"Jitters getting to him already," Another said, as Robin watched the group walk out of the airship.

He sighed and looked down at his suitcase, before grabbing the handle and turning to the ramp.

Finally, he saw it, Beacon… and that helped alleviate some of the nerves.

"Wow…" He said, walking to the edge of the ramp, the sun hitting his skin as the tall towers loomed over him in the distance. A smile spread across his face. "So… this is the place huh… where mom, dad and Uncle Qrow became heroes."

It was where he'd become one too.

First step though… find the auditorium, he thought, starting to walk towards the buildings, his suitcase wheeling behind him. He looked around at all the people, outfits, and weapons of all the people around him, the people who would be his classmates, his fellow huntsman and huntresses. It didn't matter to him if they took to him right away or not, he had respect for every single one of them, because they decided they wanted to serve others.

"The friends will come…" He said to himself, a small smile forming as he walked, one hand on his suitcase, on in his pocket. "Just do what Uncle Qrow said, trust my instincts, my weapon, my aura and I'll-."

"Ha, is this actually real?" A loud voice said, and it stopped Robin in his tracks, sensing the hostility, he turned on his semblance as the voice spoke again. "A tail, and ears? Are you some sort of freak faunus?"

Robin spun around, ignoring the aura shadows he saw from the people around him. Under a tree, in a small clearing off the ground just after the walkway to the airships he saw a group of four boys, huddled around someone under the tree. Robin stepped closer, and saw it was another boy, a faunus. He wore a grey hoodie, black pants and rolled his eyes at the one who'd spoke.

"Oooooo, picking on the faunus kid five minutes after getting off the airship," The faunus boy said, crossing his arms. "You must be so cool, because you clearly have a very original sense of humor."

"Are you mocking me you filthy faunus?!" The one boy said, much larger than the faunus boy.

"No, if I was mocking you, I would be wearing a shirt that's too tight, smelly cologne, and picking on other people to massively overcompensate for my lack of redeeming qualities," The faunus boy said, before he widened his eyes and chuckled. "Oh no! It looks like I've started actually mocking you, but don't worry, those who 'deserve' my mockery like you can often benefit from it."

"Why you filthy little dog!" The large boy said, grabbing the faunus by the hoodie.

The faunus boy laughed but chocked as he was lifted up off the ground. "Ha… I'm a wolf actually. But I can see how someone like you would get that mixed up, do you want me to give you an animal lesson and-."

"I want you to learn respect," The boy said, tossing the faunus to the ground, looking to one of his three friends, all with luggage in their hands. "What should we-."

"Hey! Get away from him," Robin shouted without thinking, crossing his arms and looking over at the group of bullies, his hands twitching, all their future movements clear to him.

The tall one looked like he was about to kick the faunus, but when he looked over to Robin-who, along with his friends he towered over- he laughed.

"Ha, and what are you going to do if I don't?" He asked, he was a beefy boy, with a tight shirt and like the faunus had said too much cologne. He turned back to the faunus on the ground. "You call for help you filthy wolf?"

"Hey, look at that you do listen!" The faunus boy said with a cough, before looking over at Robin. "But no, I didn't call for help, don't know this guy. Hey, I appreciate the help friend, but I think I got this."

"Clearly you do, judging by your position," Robin said, his blood boiling looking at the tall boy. "We've been here for fifteen minutes, what the hell is wrong with you! People like you piss me off, now get out of here!"

"Oooooh, I'm shaking," He said, laughing with his three friends, turning away from Robin. "You hear that guys? We better clear out! Scrawny over here orders it! Let's be respectful and-."

Robin hadn't turned off his semblance, he saw the future before it happened. He saw the boy's aura shadow, the shadow turned around and went for a punch, and a few seconds later, the boy did as well. Robin saw this, and blocked the first punch, throwing one into the boys stomach making him keel over, before he saw the shadow of the boys knee coming to his gut. Robin countered by stepping to the side and tripping him to the ground.

After that, he saw a shadow coming from his side, and turned to see another one of his friends coming for a punch. This happened a few times, he blocked punches he could see in the future and tossed the three boys around as they tried. He didn't want to seriously hurt any of them.

A minute or so later, he saw a shadow from the right, but he was busy pushing away one of the boy from the left. He braced himself for a punch, thinking his only way to block would be to take it and go for a counter after, but it never came. The boy who would have punched him keeled over and then fell to the ground. The faunus boy had stopped the punch, countered, and swept his legs out from under him.

Robin threw the boy he had gripped away and managed a laugh. "Ha, thanks for that one."

"No problem!" The faunus boy said, turning to block another punch, before tossing the boy aside. "I really could have taken them; I just wasn't trying to get into a fight on my first day."

"Me neither, look out!" Robin said, seeing a shadow go to hit the boy with a suitcase. He rushed over, grabbed the attacker's hand and wrestled the case from him before kicking him away and turning back to the faunus boy. "Um… my names Robin!"

"Niko! A pleasure, thanks for the assist, Robin, not many would've for a faunus," Niko said, smiling and holding out a hand as three of the boys all laid on the ground around them.

Robin laughed, the smaller suitcase still in hand. "Ha, I'll never leave someone who needs help in need, faunus or otherwise. My mom always said, it's our actions that define who we are, far more than our appearance."

"Your mother sounds like a very smart lady," Niko said, rubbing the back of his head of grey hair behind his ears. He smiled and patted Robin's shoulder. "I think we'll get along-."

"Look out!" Robin yelled, pushing Niko aside as he saw the shadow.

The first massive bully had gotten up and went to grab Niko, but Robin saw it. After pushing Niko aside he smashed the suitcase into the boys chest before he could grab the faunus boy.

However, Robin didn't stop to think what had been in the suitcase, as a massive cloud of red dust, followed by a BOOM rang out in the courtyard, making dozens of people stop and sending him flying back and smashing into his own suitcase with Niko.

"Ow…" Robin muttered, coughing and rubbing the ash from his eyes.

Niko, meanwhile, covered in soot as well laughed. "Haha that was awesome! You caused an explosion only ten minutes in, does stuff like this happen often around you?"

Robin groaned, turning off his semblance before it gave him a headache. "Ugh… more then I care to admit."

Niko laughed again. "Ha, definitely going to hang around you more then!"

He was smiling over at Robin on the ground, and as they sat up, he held out a fist.

Robin looked at the fist as if he'd struck gold. "Ha… plus one friend, a hundred percent increase, just like Yang said…"

"Um… what?" Niko asked a confused look on his face.

Robin's eyes widened. "Nothing! Hahaha, nothing at all Niko!"

"Ha… right," Niko said, groaning as he got up, offering Robin a hand. "Let's get moving, we… may wanna clear out of here before any teachers show up."

"You can say that again…" Robin said, accepting the hand. "We're supposed to go to the- AH!"

"You little punk!" The massive boy growled, spinning Robin around and grabbing him by the shirt and pulling him up. "Do you have any idea how much all that dust cost me?!"

"Um… I'm gonna take a wild guess and say… a lot?" Robin choked, trying to use what strength he had to pull the boys hands off him.

"You're damn right!" He said, dropping Robin who coughed. "I have a half a mind to…. Um… what… what is-. AHHHHHHHHHHH!"

"GAHHH!" Robin yelled as well, as a massive shadow towered over him and the boy both.

A massive bear growled and roared on its hind legs, swinging its claws towards the massive boy who squealed and backed away, falling to the ground. Robin was about to get up as well, but the boy pushed him back to the ground and ran away. Now stuck, Robin turned back around and saw the beast whirling around on him.

"Um… nice… bear…" He said, scrambling backwards on the green. "Nice… bear, I taste horrible, I swear!"

He was about to pull out his swords… before the bear started to dissolve, disappearing into a mist of grey aura. Robin blinked, perplexed, until he heard laughing.

"Hahahaha, did you see that?! He nearly peed his pants, hahaha!" Niko said, clutching his stomach laughing as he came up behind where the bear had been.

Robin floundered, as his new friend came and offered him a hand again. "Were… was… what the hell, was that you who summoned that bear?!"

Robin kicked himself for not realizing it. He hadn't seen any aura shadow from the bear, he only saw the future, the aura shadows of people and the black shadows from grimm. Illusions, summoned creatures, robots, he couldn't see their future shadows.

"Haha, you bet my new friend!" Niko said, stuffing his hands on his pocket. "I have a summoning semblance; I can summon any animal I've ever seen. And well, being a faunus, you can probably guess that's a pretty wide variety for me."

"A handy one to have…" Robin breathed as he dusted off his clothes, before he managed to smile up at Niko who still grinned like a madman. "But I think I got you beat; wait till I tell you about mine."

"Can't wait to hear," Niko said, smiling as he slung an arm around Robin's shoulder, and the two started walking. "I think this is the beginning of a long and fruitful friendship Robin!"

Robin smiled; his chest warm. "Ha… I bet it is Niko."

Present Day.

"Boss, please," Indigo said as they walked down the hall, all four of them now finally in their school unforms. "Just one piece."

"No, Indigo you can't have any until we get there, it's for them!" Robin told him, as he carried the covered cake in his hands.

Niko laughed and patted a now slumped shouldered Indigo. "Ha, no need to worry Ind, we only have… three hours until lunch! Cheer up!"

"Jerk…" Indigo muttered, which only made Niko laugh more.

Azure chuckled next to him. "Ha, the cafeteria being open is nice, but I'm just hoping we'll get more 'Robin Rose' dinner nights."

"Are you kidding? We better!" Niko said, coming up next to Robin as they walked. "We will right Robin? Come onnnnnnn!"

"Yes!" Indigo said in a tone that was very demanding.

All three of his teammates starred daggers at him, but Robin laughed. "Ha don't worry guys we will I promise. Now, we can invite Ruby's team too, more people mean more food."

His teammates all had stars in their eyes, and Robin smiled. After a good night's sleep, the semester was officially about to begin, and he was more then ready, a stark difference from last year. He knew what to expect now, and with Yang, Ruby, he knew they'd be in for an interesting year to say the least.

He looked down at the cake and smiled. It was almost 8 in the morning, and he had already been up for about three hours to bake the cake for Team RWBY that his team were bringing as a welcome present. It was the least he could do for his sister's new team, besides, outside of just Yang and Ruby, Niko and Indigo had told him more about how they knew Blake and Weiss, well… more so Niko then Indigo, Indigo still seemed hesitant to talk about anything, but Robin wouldn't force him.

All of them ending up on team RWBY was a fantastic coincidence and Robin believed they were due for some good fortune.

Still, outside of their classes, helping team RWBY and their friends, he made sure to keep in mind what else he knew his team would be needed for this semester, and that cryptic last message he had gotten from his Uncle Qrow.

'When the time comes Robin… you're going to have to make a choice, about the future of your team. All I can say, is don't make any choices lightly. You have a big year ahead of you… good luck.'

That had been the last message from his Uncle on his scroll after he'd hung up with him after their mission a few weeks ago. He still had no idea what it meant; would it have to do with Ozpin? Taking more dangerous missions?

Or, did it have something to do with what Coco had told him about earlier, like his instincts were screaming at him it was.

"Before that though… don't forget what I told you all. About what Coco was telling me," Robin said, as they turned down the first-year hallway, to where Ruby had said her dorm was. After stopping outside team RWBY's door. He turned to his team. "I'll talk to her again later, see if she's figured out anything else later, we'll all have a meeting later to decide what's best to do. Got it?"

"So, I get a chance to talk to Velvet, and talk about stopping bad guys?" Niko said, smirking as he normally did. "You don't even have to ask. Also gives you and Coco another chance to… talk Robin my friend!"

Robin rolled his eyes. "I've told you before Niko, it isn't like that."

"Yeah Niko," Azure said, his soft smile turning on Robin. "Robin's too busy flirting with the new ice queen, Coco will have to step aside."

Robin nearly dropped the cake. "I told you already I wasn't flirting with her!"

"Boss likes Weiss," Indigo said with a solemn head nod. "Good."

"Urgh, you three give me a headache," He said, which all three of them laughed at. Finally, he shook his head and turned to team RWBY's door. "Let's just get-."

"I told you this is physically impossible!" The shrill voice of Weiss came from behind the door.

Robin and the rest of team RAIN stopped as a loud CRASH came from behind the door.

"Never say never Weiss! BONZAI!" Ruby's voice yelled next.

"BONZAI!" Yang's voice came next.

"BONZAI!" Blake's followed after that.

"Bet it reminds you of home doesn't it Robin?" Niko joked, which made Robin laughed.

"Ha, you have no idea, now get ready!" Robin said, knocking a few times before opening the door, and bursting inside his teammates following behind him. "Welcome to Beacon Team RWBY! I hope you're hungry for breakfast ca…. Ruby, what are you doing?"

"Robin! Thank god!" Weiss said, and Robin saw her stalk over to him and turn, gesturing towards what they'd done to their room. "Can you please tell you sister bunk beds are a terrible idea in a room like this!"

"Robin, will you please tell Weiss Cream-Cone she's being a buzzkill," Yang said with a healthy eyeroll before she smirked with Ruby and Blake.

Weiss stomped her foot. "How many puns are you going to make?!"

Azure had started bursting out laughing behind him with Yang who was laughing at her own joke as well. Robin rolled his eyes at that, he always thought they got on so well due to the fact they both made jokes that were so bad they were actually kinda funny.

"We put it to a vote!" Ruby said with a big smile as she came up next to Robin. "Soooo Big Red, what do you think, bunk beds!"

Robin took in with the cake in his hands what his sisters first order had team leader had been. Sure enough, they were bunk beds, to the right, two were held up by thick stacks of books, on the other side, Ruby had skillfully tied her bed to hand up from the ceiling.

"Robin!" Weiss said from next to him. "You can't serious believe that this is in any way responsible-."

"This is… AWESOME!" Robin said, laughing as he looked at his sister's room.

Weiss sighed and rolled her eyes. "Of course you'd say that…

"RIGHT?!" Ruby said excitedly. "We always wanted bunk beds! Yang would just never take the single one!"

Yang scoffed and shook her head. "Hey nobody wants to bottom bunk! How come I should have gotten stuck with it?!"

"Because I'm the oldest, and Ruby is the youngest that's why," Robin said simply.

Yang rolled her eyes. "The curse of being the middle child."

Th entire room started laughing, and Robin moved over to the dressed in-between the two stacked beds. Indigo had already climbed onto the top of one and seemed to be testing its sturdiness. He did randoms things like that at times, while Niko and Azure started chatting with Blake and Yang. Robin smiled as he set the white frosted cake down, and just as he did he felt something leap onto his arm.

"Oooooo is that cake?!" Ruby said, her eyes wide and her mouth salivating trying to reach for it. "Please tell me it's the buttercream frosting that you make and that you made half vanilla half-."

"Half vanilla, half chocolate I know," He said, smiling and turning as she leapt off him arm. "I eat vanilla, you eat chocolate, Yang likes both, I'm not an amateur."

Ruby laughed and then Robin saw Weiss looking at them both. She seemed a bit annoyed at first, but oddly enough he saw her eyes start to fall after a few seconds. Robin was going to say something, but Ruby beat him to it.

"Weiss! You have to try some, vanilla or chocolate?" She said, pushing Weiss towards the cake next to Robin.

"I can move on my own!" She said, before looking up at Robin, then to the cake which said 'Welcome Team RWBY' over the front. "You… sure do like to bake, don't you Robin?"

"Sure do!" Robin said, offering her a smile, before holding his hands up. "Indigo!"

"Here boss," His teammates said, poking his head over the bunk bed and dropping him a plastic knife along with the napkins and plastic forks he'd been carrying.

Robin smiled and looked at Weiss, who stood next to Ruby, his younger sister bouncing on her toes.

"So, Weiss, vanilla or chocolate?" Robin said with a smile.

Weiss stammered for a minute. "Is cake so soon before class really smart?"

"Ugh Weiss! Trust me, you'll love it!" Ruby said, stepping in front of her. "Chocolate please Big Red!"

Robin smiled and cut a piece for his sister, before turning back to Weiss. "She's right, I dare say it's pretty good, what do you say?"

Weiss finally sighed, before a small smile came to her face. "Well… if you say so. I suppose… vanilla?"

"Ha, you're just as boring as Robin is!" Yang said, stepping next to her before looking at Robin. "Chocolate!"

"Me too!" Azure said next.

"Me three!" Niko said excitedly.

"Me… four?" Blake said after that.

Robin chuckled. "You want two slices Blake? You ate half my bag of cookies the other night?"

"That was only like… four of them!" The black-haired girl yelled back, her face getting red.

"Ha, try like six!" Yang yelled, before all of them, Blake included had a good laugh.

Robin finished laughing, and saw Weiss was the only one who wasn't. Feeling bad, he cut out her piece of cake next, and tapped her on the shoulder. She turned with her bright blue eyes and looked at the cake then at him, before a small smile came to her face and she took it.

"Thank you…" She said, taking a fork as well, before hesitantly poking the cake. "Your… cookies were really, really good."

"Go on! Try it already!" Ruby urged her, already halfway done her piece, as Robin started giving cake out to everybody.

Weiss looked annoyed for a minute, but finally put a piece in her mouth. She paused for a moment, chewing and everyone took a moment to look at her, when her eyes widened and she ended up scarfing down even more of it.

"Oh my god… this is perfection!" She said, looking at Robin and shaking her head. "How… when… how could you possibly make something this good!?"

"Haha, Robin is the perfect chef!" Ruby said, crossing her arms and leaning up against him holding her hand out. "Us Roses have a way in the kitchen."

"Ruby, you set the kitchen on fire last time you tried to help Robin," Yang noted, her mouth full of cake.

Ruby narrowed his eyes and Robin laughed. Finally, he cut himself a piece and smiled at Weiss.

"Ha, I had a good teacher," He said, as the room ate their cake. "You see, I learned from my-."

"Um… boss, bad news," Indigo said, leaping off the bunk bed.

Robin stopped and looked at him, as did the entire room. "Yeah, what's up Ind?"

Indigo held up his scroll.

"Oh no…" Weiss said slowly.

Robin froze as well and realized how stupid they'd all been.

"We… forgot to set our clocks back forward an hour, didn't we?" Ruby whispered next to him.

Robin looked at the time on his own scroll, and sure enough the time read 8:55am.

He looked at Ruby, before they both set their cake down and looked at their teams.

"TO CLASS!" Ruby yelled, speeding out the door, followed by her teammates.

Niko laughed. "Ha, this is normally a mistake I'd expect from me but not you Robin."

"Shut up!" Robin snapped at him before rushing to the door. "You heard her, to class! Just because we're the best, doesn't mean we get to slack come on!"

"Professor Ozpin are you certain about this?" Glinda said behind the old Professor as they walked across the courtyard. "Yes, Mr. Rose and his team are very talented. I just worry he lacks a certain… maturity, to start down this path yet."

Ozpin chuckled as he sipped his coffee and they waited for the students to pass by. "Are you sure Glinda, you're not just worried he's a bit too much like Qrow?"

Glinda scoffed. "Hardly. Despite his antics at times, I trust Qrow."

"Would you not trust Mr. Rose and his team as well?" Ozpin asked, the sun streaming out over the courtyard.

"It's not that either," Glinda said, an uncharacteristically worried look coming to her face. "It's the fact that in the end Professor… the members of team RAIN, they're children. They're to be the protectors of this world yes, but our work is more dangerous then any mission they'd take on as huntsman."

Ozpin internally sighed, Glinda was right… however, if his hunch was correct, they were running out of time already. He'd have to wait for Qrow's report to know more, but already he could feel the pieces moving across the chess board.

However, he hadn't gotten as far as he had through all this time without taking risks and trusting his instincts. They told him now, that Robin Rose and his team would be key in the fights to come.

But he did pray that he was wrong.

"I am very aware Glinda…" He said, as he heard the footsteps of running students begin to get closer. "However, at times like this we must use every resource at our disposal. We will force nothing as always… but I believe young Mr. Rose ad his team will be more then up to the task."

"TO CLASS!" A voice yelled, and Ozpin watched with Glinda sipping his coffee and young Ruby Rose rushed with the members of her team behind her, followed by team JNPR.

"INDIGO I SAID WE'LL EAT THE REST LATER!" A voice followed, and sure enough Robin Rose ran through the courtyard with his team at his back. They passed with their uniforms hastily put on, and Robin looked back at them. "I swear I'll cut all three of you off from-."

"Mr. Rose!" Ozpin yelled before he could pass by, making the young black-haired boy come to a skidding halt.

It was then followed by the rest of his teammates slamming into the back of him, knocking Robin and the other three onto the concrete.

"Owwww, what the hell Robin!" Niko Moon complained, rubbing the dirt out of his tail.

Azure Acheron groaned. "Oh man, we're late for sure."

"…. My cake," Indigo Ignation said quietly, his eyes quivering, looking at a piece of cake that he dropped.

Ozpin smirked, as with his cane and coffee in hand, he walked over to the pile of students.

He smiled down at Robin Rose. "A word in my office if you'd please Mr. Rose?"

Robin scrambled to his feet, his eyes wide before he dragged all three of his teammates up, before standing in front of Ozpin straight backed and nodded.

"Of course, sir!" He said, elbowing Niko next to him. "Anything we can assist you with all you need to do is ask!"

He bowed his head, and after another elbow, Niko Moon followed suit, as did the rest of his team.

Glinda sighed behind him. "Professor Ozpin only requires your leader, if you three would come with me, I'll escort you to your class, so you don't get a late penalty."

Niko, Indigo and Azure all nodded, before smiling and nodding at their leader. After Robin seemed to communicate without any words, Glinda began escorting the other members of team RAIN towards their class. Although, Ozpin had a sinking suspicion that they would more so be waiting for the scroll call from their leader after their meeting.

Ozpin smiled and gestured to Robin. "Now, Mr. Rose, if you would."

"Of course, Professor!" He said, hastily bowing again, but Ozpin stopped him.

"Ha, please, none of that is necessary Mr. Rose," He assured the boy, before starting to walk. "I am simply your Professor. Now come, I have much to discuss with you."

XxxxxxxxxxxxxxX

Robin had been in Ozpin's office before, but he never got tired of the view over Vale, or how gorgeous all the glass and moving gears looked. He sat down hesitantly in the chair in front of Ozpin's desk, as the old Professor moved behind it, a pot of coffee already steaming with a cup in front of him. Before Robin could say anything, the Professor poured him some and gestured to the cream and sugar in small bowls next to it.

Robin shook his head. "No thank you sir, I don't use any of that."

"Black coffee?" Ozpin said, as Robin took the mug from his teacher. "I believe you're the first one I've ever seen like that."

"Ruby uses like five sugars in hers," Robin said, sipping on the hot drink. "I don't know how. I don't drink coffee for the taste, I drink it to wake up."

"You do seem a bit withered already Mr. Rose," Ozpin said, leaning back in his chair.

Robin paused and laughed nervously. "Ha… I was well… up early."

"Making the cake Mr. Ignation dropped everywhere earlier?" The Professor asked.

Robin sighed and nodded, downing the rest of the coffee. "Yes… I… may have snuck and used the cafeterias kitchen. I made cake for Ruby and her team as a welcome present."

Robin had been worried he'd get in trouble for that. He would have kept it a secret, but something his Dad and Uncle Qrow told him before coming to Beacon, was that it was absolutely no use lying to Ozpin. The man knew everything that happened in his school.

Robin had figured out that was true very quickly.

Ozpin chuckled. "Ha, a very kind gesture indeed. How has your sister been settling and taking to her new assignment?"

That made Robin smile. "She's loving it Professor! I promise, you won't regret making her a leader, she's going to be great, even better than I am believe it!"

"That will be a very high bar to climb," Ozpin noted.

Robin chuckled again. "Ha… thank you sir. But I mean it. Ruby and team RWBY, will be great after they work out the kinks."

"And am I right in assuming you and team RAIN will be assisting them in further training?" Ozpin asked, leaning forward on his elbows now.

"Of course!" Robin said, the idea had been in his head for weeks. "Just watch Professor, in a few years, you're going to have two of the best teams of huntsman and huntresses you've ever had!"

Ozpin nodded. "That is what I'm hoping for as well… however, Mr. Rose, that is enough about the future. I would prefer to switch topics to the present if we may."

Robin straightened himself and cleared his throat. "Of course, Professor. What is it I can do for you?"

The Professor nodded, and slowly rose from his desk, walking to the window to look out over Vale. Robin's stomach started churning, of course Ozpin had just given him and his team a mission a few weeks back… but what could he want now? It was only the third day of the semester, could things be taking a turn already?

What Coco had told him lingered in his mind, along with what he heard from his Uncle… what choice would he have to make that is so serious, Uncle Qrow of all people would warn him about it?

"Mr. Rose, I would like you to answer a question for me," The Professor said, turning back to face him, hands held behind his back. "Answer honestly if you would."

"Yes sir, of course," Robin said right away.

Ozpin nodded again, before meeting Robin's eyes. "Is your team, the best at Beacon? Regardless of class, first year, second year, third, fourth, is your team the best?"

Robin stammered for a minute, one thing he hated doing was boasting. He knew the answer of course, but he didn't want to seem like he was arrogant.

"Well, I believe there are dozens of strong teams at Beacon Professor. It is the best of the four huntsman academies," He started, trying to meet Ozpin's eyes. "Team CFVY for example always trains with us. It's true I believe my teams strong, but there's dozens of-."

"Mr. Rose," Ozpin said to cut him off. Robin shut up right away. Again, Ozpin pushed up his glasses, his eyes trained on Robin. "That is a political answer. I will ask you again. Is team RAIN, the strongest team at Beacon yes, or no?"

Robin held his hands together, his Dad and Uncle also told him that Ozpin was absolutely horrifying is he wanted to be. He hadn't thought that was true until now, when he saw the Professor's eyes trained on him.

"Yes sir," Robin said after clearing his throat. "We are."

Ozpin's face morphed back into one of a kind old Professor and Robin shuttered as he sat bac down across from him. It was like there were two people inside his headmaster.

"Good, I believe we both already knew the answer to that question," Ozpin said, leaning forward again. "I just needed to hear you say it."

"I'm sorry sir," Robin said, shaking his head. "I've never been one for boasting. I didn't want to become a huntsman to be famous or to be called 'the strongest', I just did it to help people."

Ozpin chuckled. "Ha… your mother once said something similar to me. You have probably heard this many times but, you remind me of her greatly in more ways than one."

"That's the best compliment I could receive sir," Robin said, the tips of his fingers suddenly tingling, as at the mention of his mother he felt confident enough to meet the Professor's eyes. "Professor, what is it that you needed from me?"

"Not just from you Mr. Rose, but from your team," Ozpin said, pouring himself another mug of coffee. "I understand it is early in the semester, but if you would be willing, I'd like you and team RAIN to take on another mission for me."

Robin's eyes widened, he had expected Ozpin to ask him to go on more missions, but this soon into the year? A cold chill ran down Robin's spine, it looks like Coco was right, things are looking bad.

"Of course, sir, we're more then willing," Robin said, a bit of excitement running through him. "Me and team RAIN are at your disposal, tell us how we can help."

Early in the semester last year, when it looked like his team was doomed to fail, it was dreaming of moments like this that helped Robin keep them together. Day's when he and his best-friends could finally put their skills to use for the betterment of humanity and Remnant.

But still, something was bothering him, this can't be the choice Uncle Qrow was talking about… this is something I expected, what could it be?

He assumed he'd have to wait. His Uncle was going to be on mission for a long time, so it'd be a while before Robin could talk to him, perhaps if he called his Dad? Internally sighing Robin scolded himself. His Dad had always told him that he tried to rush things too often. When the choice came, he was sure that he'd be ready with his team.

"Very good, I thank you and your team for your bravery Mr. Rose," The Professor said, a small smile coming to his face. "Now, I'm sure you're aware, and perhaps even spoken with others about the happenings in Vale recently, even young Ruby was mixed up in some of the trouble the night I met her. Tell me, what is it you know?"

Robin's eyes widened; does he know I talked to Coco about the robberies? Man… he really does know everything that happens in this place.

Robin straightened himself. "Well sir, Ruby only told me that she stopped that group of thugs from robbing a dust shop. And I've heard from… well other sources, that there's been dozens of dust robberies this month, and not for money, just dust."

"Mhm, would it happen to be Ms. Adele who told you of this?" Ozpin said, smirking as he leaned back.

"Man… you really do know everything that happens at this school, don't you?" Robin finally said out loud. "Uncle Qrow was right…"

Ozpin chuckled. "Ha, yes Ms. Adele is quite astute in her observations, and they are correct. For the last few months as it's been, dust shipments and shops are being targeted. After hearing of this, I assume you and Ms. Adele had plans to investigate? You're enough like Qrow and your parents for me to know that is true."

Robin looked at the ground. "Um… maybe? I'm sorry sir, but me and my team can't just sit around, it doesn't sit right with me, especially after Ruby almost got hurt during one. We wouldn't have done anything well… drastic of course."

"Of course, I believe you Mr. Rose," The Professor said, standing and leaning over his desk. "However, as it happens, I am assigning you the very same task as a mission. For the next few weeks, I want you and team RAIN to patrol Vale a few nights a week."

Robin's eyes widened, not believing his luck yet again… but a sinking feeling was in his stomach. So much seemed to be going… right for him and his team. Was the other shoe about to drop? Where was the misfortune to counteract it all?

Still, he nodded and stood. "Of course, sir! Do you… have anything in particular you want us to be looking for?"

Ozpin smiled and shook his head. "No, simply investigate how you see fit. Keep an eye out for anything suspicious. Don't put yourself in unnecessary harm, only act and use force if you deem it necessary, I trust your judgement. Report to me every other week any findings you may have. Your goal is to try and figure out the reason for these dust robberies. With any luck, you'll report back to me with nothing at all, and this will all fizzle away."

"Of course, sir, you can count on me and team RAIN!" Robin said, holding his fist to his chest and bowing, unable to not smile.

This soon they were taking another mission from Ozpin. His team was going to finally live their dream.

Ozpin smiled but looked at him curiously. "That is all Mr. Rose? You don't wish to ask me anymore questions on the topic?"

Robin lifted and shook his head. "No sir, if you're assigning the mission, it must be important. Uncle Qrow and my dad trust you, so I do too."

Ozpin's smile stayed and he nodded. "I thank you then for your trust Mr. Rose. Now, tell me, is there another team you trust you'd like to have help you on this mission as support?"

Robin's head perked up. "Actually, sir yes! This could be the perfect chance for-."

"Before you say it Mr. Rose, I mean any team other than your sisters," Ozpin said, and Robin chuckled, slightly deflated.

"Haha… of course sir," He said. "I had already been planning to talk with Coco about this. Team CFVY and team RAIN worked together plenty of times before, I trust Coco."

Ozpin nodded again and held out his hand. "Very well, please inform Ms. Adele of what I've assigned, and I will speak to her later as well to confirm."

"Thank you, sir," Robin said, shaking the Professors hand. "You won't regret the trust you've place in team RAIN."

"I know I won't," Ozpin said, grabbing his cane and walking out from behind his desk. "Come now Mr. Rose, you are still a student after all, I'll escort you to class, so you don't receive a penalty."

"You don't have too sir," Robin said, following the man.

Ozpin chuckled. "In my old age Mr. Rose, I've found a good walk is good for the soul. Come now, we can speak more on the way."

Robin nodded, and followed the Professor to the elevator, buzzing on the inside.

This couldn't be the choice Uncle Qrow had talked about, it was far too easy. Helping people was never a hard decision. It was like his mother always said, doing the right thing is never the wrong choice.

"Professor… can I ask something?" Robin said, as he rounded the corner with Ozpin next to him.

The old teacher nodded. "Yes Mr. Rose?"

Robin bit his lip and twiddled his thumbs. "Do you… have any idea when my Uncle Qrow will be coming back from his mission? I asked him and Dad, but they both just said, 'a long time probably'."

One thing Robin has always worried about was how long his Uncle had been on missions. His Dad only taught at Signal, so he didn't have to worry about him as much. Tai-Yang had tried to show Robin more about how to fight with his fists, and Robin did know quite a bit, but it had been swords that always drew his interest. That was where his Uncle came in, Qrow preferred a scythe, but that hadn't stopped him from showing Robin everything he knew about the sword.

The bow had come later, that was what Robin was most proud of, he'd learned that all by himself. Thankfully, it complimented the rest of his team well. Robin had spent so many hours the previous year coming up with training sessions and making sure his team improved, and it was all baring fruit now, especially with Ruby and Yang there now.

However, it didn't mean he didn't miss the training days with his Uncle.

Ozpin sipped his coffee, his cane tapping as he walked. "I'm afraid that's not something I can reveal Mr. Rose, but rest assured, your Uncle will be quite safe. I told him I'd look after you and Ms. Rose, not that either of you seem to need it."

Robin deflated, he loved his Uncle, but as he got older, he realized what a mystery he really was. He knew that he had to know even more about Yang's mom-his own sister-then he cared to let on. He also knew that the missions he went on for Ozpin weren't simple recon missions like one may have thought. No, there was a deeper reason his Uncle was risking his life.

It was part of the reason he trained so hard, trained his team so hard, so maybe one day he'd be skilled enough to go and join his Uncle. He had already lost his Mom, he hadn't gone with her on that mission she left for, so he wasn't going to let the same happen to his Uncle.

Robin was about to say something else as he rounded the corner with Ozpin, but the headmaster stopped, and looked forward, Robin almost an into him.

"Well, speaking of Ms. Rose," The Professor said, and Robin looked up just in time to see Ruby rushing out of Professor Port's classroom.

Robin smiled for a minute, until he saw who she was following, he sighed, well, that didn't take very long did it?

"Weiss!" Ruby said, following behind the white-haired girl, both stopping a few feet in front of him. "What was that?! What's wrong with you, why are you being-."

"What's wrong with me?! What's wrong with you!" Weiss yelled back. "You're supposed to be a leader, but so far all you've been is a nuisance."

Robin cringed, dammit Weiss.

Ruby scoffed. "Huh? What did I do?"

Weiss groaned. "That's just it, you've done nothing to earn your position! Back in the forest you acted like a child and have only continued to do so."

"Weiss…" Ruby started, and Robin could see how upset she was getting. "Where is this coming from? What happened to all that talk about working together, I thought you believed in working as a team?"

"Not a team led by you…" Weiss said, her fist clenching. "I've trained, I've studied! And you! You… you're just Robin Rose's little sister. Ozpin… made a mistake."

The comment stung even Robin as he watched Weiss stalk away. Behind her and Ruby, coming out of Port's classroom he spotted his teammates, along with Blake and Yang, who all made way for Weiss as she stalked off. Robin's three teammates looked over at him, and with a subtle nod towards Indigo, the quiet boy nodded and disappeared into the walls. Blake and Yang looked like they were going to come say something to Ruby, but Niko and Azure guided them down the hallway.

Ruby sighed in front of him, he was about to say something, but Ozpin beat him to the punch.

"Mhm, well that certainly didn't seem to go well," The headmaster said with an amused look on his face.

Ruby nearly fell as she spun around, her eyes widening. "Professor Ozpin, Robin!"

"You, okay?" Robin said, trying for a smile.

Ruby looked at the ground and shook her head, before looking up at Ozpin. "Sir… is it true? Did you make a mistake?"

Ozpin chuckled. "Ha, well, that remains to be seen."

Ruby's eyes widened. "What do you mean?"

Again, the headmaster laughed. "I mean, it's only been one day, it is impossible to judge based solely off a little over twenty-four hours."

"And… and is it true?" She said, slowly looking up at Robin and then back to Ozpin. "Am… I really only a leader because I'm Robin's little sister…?"

"Ruby…" Robin said, shaking his head. "That's not true at all. You're a leader, because you are best suited for the job, even better then I was last year, right Professor Ozpin?"

"Mr. Rose is correct," Ozpin said, a small smile coming to his face. "He was a hooligan, uncoordinated, and nervous… but like you Ms. Rose, he simply had that it factor. The ability to inspire others around him, just like you."

Ruby shook her head. "You can't mean that. I'm nowhere near where Robin was last year when he started here."

Robin laughed. "HA, you are even further along than I was little red, I can promise you that."

"Mr. Rose is correct again," Ozpin said, smiling down at Ruby again. "I have made more mistakes then any man, woman or child, but I do not consider your appointment as leader to be one of them. Now, I believe I'll leave you two Rose's to chat. Mr. Rose, I trust you are prepared?"

"Of course, Professor, thank you again," Robin said, and he bowed, which Ruby hastily followed, before the headmaster smiled and walked away, his cane tapping.

Robin watched him go, before turning back down to Ruby, who still didn't seem very convinced after the headmasters' words.

He smiled at her. "So, your first class was Port's huh? Me and the guys think in his lectures, he's really just reading fanfiction he wrote about himself."

Robin had though the joke was hilarious, but it only got a small smile out of Ruby, not the laugh he was hoping. He sighed and met her eyes as she looked up at him.

"So… what caused all of that?" He asked her.

Ruby shook her head. "I… I really don't know! I was just trying to do what you did with your team! Cheering them on, making jokes, giving as much advice as I could and Weiss just…"

"Didn't seem to appreciate it?" Robin said with a grim smile. "Yeah, she certainly didn't seem very happy."

"And I don't understand why! I… I was just trying to be like you," She said, shaking her head as her silver eyes fell to the ground. "Were… you and the guys this dysfunctional at first?"

Robin couldn't stop the laugh that came next. "HAHA, oh Ruby you have no idea. We were even worse! Niko and Az hated each other, they couldn't go an hour without arguing and Indigo was… well Indigo. We weren't always the team you saw over the summer Ruby; it took months."

"But… but how am I supposed to get my team to that point, with what just happened!" Ruby said, water starting to form in her eyes. "Weiss hates me!"

Robin shook his head. "I doubt she hates you, Ruby. She's probably just… not used to all of this. Indigo told me her sister left to join the Atlas military with his sister, her brother isn't exactly a breath of fresh air and her father… well, Indigo said he's worse then his dad, which has to be pretty bad."

Ruby's eyes widened. "I… I didn't know."

"You couldn't have, but that's how people work, it's like mom always said, you never know what they've gone through," Robin said, smiling as he remembered the words. "I think she'll come around… but you don't have to be me little red. Don't try and be me, because well, it's impossible, I'm the only me. You be the best Ruby Rose you can be, and I'm sure Weiss, just like everyone who meets you, will see just how amazing you are."

Ruby sucked in a shaky breath, and looked up at him, her small smile returning. "Thanks, big red… you always did know what to say."

Robin shrugged. "I inherited that from mom," he put an arm around his sister and started walking with her. "Now come on, let's go stuff our faces and then we can play video games before the guys and I have to get going."

Ruby nodded and looked up at him as they walked. "You got a mission from Professor Ozpin already? Will… you be away for a while like Uncle Qrow normally is?"

Robin shook his head. "It's nothing that major, we won't be leaving Vale, don't worry. Come on, let's get going, I'm starving."

Weiss stood there, dumbfounded and slightly ashamed after hearing Professor Port's words. She hadn't expected such words from the mustached professor. Now, she could only stand looking out over the walls towards the rest of Beacon down below. It didn't help her shame, when she heard laughing, and looked back in the hallway, and saw both Ruby and Robin smiling as they walked.

Robin had looked over at her, and still smiled. She was amazed, he had been berating his sister since she had gotten here, was he really still going to be polite to her? She of course didn't know him that well, but she thought she knew enough to see that he loved Ruby and Yang both more than just about anything.

Yes, he really was not at all what she expected from the leader of Team RAIN. She had expected a tall, muscular, gruff and tough man who expected nothing but the absolute best from all of those around him… but that wasn't Robin at all.

He was only a head taller then her, not overly muscular, at times so far annoyingly goofy… but the biggest difference from what she expected was he genuine he seemed. He did everything he could for everyone around him, he could have easily dismissed Weiss as a brat, exactly like she'd been acting like, but still… he smiled at her as he passed and had been nothing but polite and helpful to her, and she had the feeling even if she hadn't been on a team with Ruby and Yang, he'd do the same.

"And… Ruby has been acting the same," She said to herself with a sigh. "I just haven't seen it… I'm a fool."

She was a bit louder, and even more uncoordinated, and immature… but she saw now that she was just being like her older brother. Much like she tried to do, be like her own sibling.

"Hey Weiss."

"GAHH!" Weiss yelled at the voice, nearly falling backwards over a flowerbed.

"Sorry," The voice said again, and after her heart stopped racing, she found Indigo, hands stuffed in his purple hoodie pocket, looking at her with that blank expression he normally wore.

"Indigo!" Weiss scolded, wiping the dirt off of her combat skirt. "I see you still have that annoying habit of yours."

Indigo shrugged. "You okay?"

"I'm fine…" She said, with a sigh. "Well… I'm really not to be honest. I think I've made a big mistake the last two days or so… my attitude has been out of control."

"Yeah," Indigo said, his face softening a bit. "You've been a brat."

"You're not supposed to agree with me!" Weiss said, slightly offended. "This is supposed to be the part where you tell me I really haven't been!"

"That would be lying."

"Ugh you're so-… right… you're right," She said with a sigh, going to lean against the railing, looking out over Beacon and Vale in the distance. "For lack of a better word… I have been a brat the last two days."

"Yeah," Indigo said, coming and leaning against the railing with her. "But it's okay."

"Is it?" Weiss sighed. "I've begun alienating my team's leader already, someone who was only trying to be kind to me… and in doing that, I did the same with Robin."

"Boss will forgive you," Indigo said. "Ruby too."

"I know… which is why I feel even worse," Weiss said, twirling strands of her white hair. "I… I just got so angry at her immaturity! Her constant attention and yelling, was Robin like-."

"Even worse," Indigo said, a small smirk coming to his face. "Wasn't used to it."

Weiss paused for a moment… her and Indigo had gone through similar things as children. Indigo may have had it worse… his mother had left Atlas, leaving just his older sister Lilac and his father to look after him. Weiss knew the type of man his father Archibald was, far too well. Still, just like her, he'd been left in a big house all alone after Lilac had joined the military to spite their father, similar to what Winter had done, they were best friends after all their older sisters.

She realized they were extremely alike now as well. None of them had been used to the type of affection and support the Rose's had given them.

"You're right… I guess I'm not used to it either," Weiss said with a sigh. "Not used to well… actually being cared for in such a way."

Indigo nodded. "Yeah… Ruby, she's like us."

"Like us?" Weiss said, looking over at him. "I… don't know what you mean. She grew up with Yang, Robin, and I'm sure her parents-."

"Chasing a sibling," He said, a small smile coming again. "Ruby wants to be like boss." He looked and met her eyes. "Like you and Winter. And…"

"You with Lilac…" Weiss said with realization.

Indigo nodded. "Yeah… but we're us, they're them."

"And… we can strive to be like them," Weiss said, a small smile coming to her face, "but in the end, we're our own people, we shouldn't try to be them… just the best version of ourselves. That sounds like something Robin would say."

"He does," Indigo said with a smile, turning and leaving off the railing. "Coming?"

Weiss looked out over the sun setting over Beacon. "What are you talking about? Coming where?"

"Game night," Indigo said, turning back to her. "Till lights out boss said."

Weiss stopped herself for a moment… could she really go back? What Port had told her, and what Indigo said went through her mind and she managed a smile.

"Yes, I'd love to come," She said, following after Indigo.

Ruby and Robin would forgive her… she knew it was just who they were.

After that, she'd be the best teammate anyone could ask for.

"Oh man…" Azure complained next to him on the roof. His trident over his lap as their legs dangled off the roof. "I think I ate too much cake."

Robin laughed, his eyes glowing as he scanned the port. "You know, you and Yang didn't have to have a contest. You knew we had a mission later."

Az proved Robin's point further by groaning and falling back on the rooftop. "Uhh… you may be right. But you know me, can't turn down a challenge, especially against Yang."

Robin rolled his eyes, before deactivating his semblance and standing up on the rooftop. They'd been in downtown Vale for a few hours now after they'd spent about an hour playing games and finally getting to eat the welcome cake with Team RWBY. He had been a bit worried when he saw Weiss mainly keeping to herself, but was confident after they left, her and Ruby sorted things out.

It let them focus on their new mission from Ozpin. They'd met up with Coco and Team CFVY in Vale at the beginning of the night, and they had gone towards the inland side of Vale, while he and his team had gone to the portside of town and kept an eye out there. At first, he'd though that maybe Ozpin's hope of all the dust robberies being smoke and fire were true.

That had changed really quick, when after running along rooftops and skulking through alleys, they had tracked a group of thugs to the docks, where-thanks to Coco having been in town earlier- they had learned a large shipment from a Schnee freighter had dropped off a massive amount of dust just that afternoon. Robin had thought that it was a small scale operation at first the dust robberies… but he realized he was wrong.

Especially now, as he looked down at least a gang of twenty men who had pried open the cargo container with the Schnee logo stamped on the side. Now, with his semblance he could see from the adjacent rooftop all the men working to move drums of dust to an airship which had landed right in the middle of the port.

Robin sighed as he stood, and helped Az to his feet as well, Niko and Indigo should be back soon, Coco should be making her way here now… are the cops in Vale really this inept?

He decided to stop trying to wonder how they didn't hear the airship coming in for a landing, and just focus on his task, which was his teams plan of attack. He'd have a better vantage of the battlefield after Indigo and Niko came back.

Az groaned and Robin rolled his eyes at him.

"Az, you know you can ask Yang out if you want right?" Robin finally said. "I've told you before that I wouldn't mind."

Azure stiffened for a minute, it was clear to Robin and just about everyone from the time they'd spent together over the summer at their house, that Azure liked her. Still, his teammate had been weird about the whole situation, like he was now.

He finally sighed and shook his head. "And I've told you, it isn't like that. Yang she just… well-."

"Reminds you of your sister… yeah, you told me," Robin said, suddenly feeling guilty. "I'm sorry Az, I didn't mean to sound insensitive."

His teammates shook his head and hefted the trident/sniper onto his shoulder and smiled. "You don't have to say sorry. She… she's gone, I've accepted that, you guys, Ruby, Yang, you're all I need now."

"I'm glad," Robin said, managing a smile as he rested his hands on the two swords at his waist. "I promise we're here for you too."

"I know," Azure said, taking a knee and sucking in a deep breath. "So, you said that's definitely that Torchwick guy, right? It matches Ruby's description?"

Azure held the rifles scope to his eye, and Robin saw his aura flash blue and he knew his teammates semblance-his seismic senses-had activated. He could feel every footstep and vibration in the air now. Combined with Robin's own semblance, plus what Niko and Indigo would report, they'd have a whole map of the battlefield. Azure's weapon could shrink into what Robin always joked was a massive fork he carried at his side, but when activated stretched to the length almost of Crescent Rose, the guns barrel resting just above the prongs of the trident. It was painted dark blue, with a spike at the opposite end of the trident.

He liked to be a sniper, but Robin knew at close range, Azure could still beat just about anyone with his semblance and weapon.

Robin knelt and turned on his own semblance. He narrowed his eyes, which now had a slight red glow and scanned the port again. He saw everyone's aura shadows first, where they'd move in the future, they took the form of a colored silhouette of that person. Of course, if they stood still, Robin could only see their aura, he didn't see their future shadow until they moved.

However, in addition to that, he could see clearly as if he was on the ground himself. Sure enough, he saw a man in a black top-hat a long coat with a cane in his hand. It fit Ruby's description spot on.

"Yeah, that should be him," Robin said, scanning the port more as the gang members in suits moved the dust drums. "Can you feel any other airships coming, or any other men?"

Azure shook his head. "Nope, only vibrations I can feel are of townspeople, nobody else is coming in this direction."

"Good," Robin said with a sigh, his eyes narrowing as next to Torchwick, coming from behind one of the other massive cargo containers, was a new aura. This one was bright pink; the aura was even brighter then the others he saw. "Yikes… that doesn't seem good, can you see her? Her aura is off the charts."

"It may seem like it," Azure started. "But I can't actually see with my feet Robin."

The girl who now stood beside Torchwick now had split pink and brown hair, one pink and one brown eye, and skipped along the gang members umbrella in hand. It was all clear to Robin, even far away on the rooftop he could see everything, and if he focused his eyes a little further, he could see every man and woman's aura. The girl with the umbrella had a bright pink aura, brighter then any he'd seen in a long time, which meant she'd probably be trouble if she got in the way.

She may have only had an umbrella, but after he had met Coco, Robin learned that quite literally expect a weapon from anything.

Robin mentally slapped himself. "Yeah… sorry, she may be a problem. Ruby beat that Torchwick guy pretty good, so he shouldn't be much of an issue, neither will the others, but that girl… she will be, her and-."

"The hostage…" Azure said, scanning through his rifle scope. "Indigo should be able to get him out, it's dark out, he almost invincible now."

That was the other problem his team was facing. Near Torchwick, leaned up against one of the shipping containers, right under the Schnee logo, was a younger guy who could have looked much older than Robin and his team. Robin looked over and zoomed in on him again, he was tied up with ropes and struggling to escape, yelling at the gang members and Torchwick who did their best to ignore him. He had messy blonde hair and a weak orange aura, they'd guessed he was just the foreman of the ship that had arrived, or perhaps someone coming to check the shipment, seeing as he only wore a black jacket and nice-looking pants.

"Yeah… but we have to be careful, one wrong move and that guys done for," Robin said standing up and pulling out his scroll, he looked at his team's aura level and sighed. "Where the hell are they? They should be-."

"Here boss," Indigo's voice said behind him, but thankfully, Robin had almost gotten used to that by now.

Azure on the other hand, nearly fell off the roof.

"God dammit Ind!" He said, holding himself up with the butt end of his trident/sniper. "Don't think I'll ever get used to that."

"You can see with your feet," Indigo said, hands in his hoodie pocket, his two-winged blades which could become revolvers at his waist. The purple-haired boy plopped down crisscross style on the roof. "You should hear me."

"I can't since you literally pop out of shadows, you don't touch the ground," Azure said with a sigh, the wind blowing back strands of his dark blue hair, he looked up. "But I can feel the vibration from Iggly's wings flapping, Niko's back."

"Did somebody call my name?!" Niko said a few seconds later, followed by a loud thud next to them, and an eagle's cry after that.

Niko smiled and stuck his staff into the ground. The staff had two blades on each end, which the wolf faunus sometimes detached at the center to dual-wield the two ends, or at other times, shoot at enemies, seeing as they double as shotguns. Robin's best-friend fixed his grey busy gray hair, his two wolf ears sticking up excitedly, along with his tail. Niko was unique even among faunus, having two animal traits instead of just one. He had always said, it made him 'double the fun', which Robin had a hard time finding logic in.

Iggly landed next to Niko. Niko didn't just summon animals, he could control their size and make them bigger, which is why the eagle that landed next to him was massive, easily big enough to carry Niko and sometimes Robin as well. It was perfect for recon, that was Robin's favorite part of his team, their semblances and powers all complimented each other perfectly.

"Yes, we did," Azure said, turning to Niko as Robin made sure to keep his eyes over the scene below. Az joined him, along with Niko and Indigo. "So, did you see anything else around the perimeter?"

"Nope, we shouldn't have any unwanted guests, although I assume we'll call the cops, right?" Niko asked, sticking one bladed end of his staff into the roof and leaning on it. "Has our brilliant leader come up with a plan yet?"

"Not yet," Azure said, leaning on his trident as well from Robin's right.

"Boss will figure it out," Indigo said, stretching as he rose to his feet. "Always does."

His team stood on the edge of the roof just overlooking the docks. Robin took one last look down at the girl with the bright pink aura and the umbrella.

She may be the only problem… he thought looking to Niko. "Did you see that one girl? Umbrella and pink hair?"

Niko nodded. "I did yeah, saw her show up, rest seem pretty scared of her. Shame, she's kinda cute."

"You wanna take her on then?"

Niko laughed. "Ha, sure why not, I've been itching for a fight."

Robin nodded. "Good, I think I have a plan now."

"Alright!" Niko said, hefting his staff onto his shoulder. "Time for another Robin Rose and Team RAIN masterclass!"

Az chuckled. "Ha, lets start the year off with a bang fellas."

"Ready boss," Indigo said next.

Robin smiled and nodded, his hands resting on the two sheathed swords at his waist. He clicked the dials and came to a bright blue color on one, a dark blue color on the others. Lightning and ice on each sword, as his plan started to slowly take shape in his head.

"Okay, first things first, Indigo, what's the deal with that hostage?" Robin asked, his eyes falling to the younger man who was tied up.

Indigo shook his head. "Won't help, civilian most likely."

"Okay, so you jump in the shadows and get near him," Robin explained. "After Az takes the first shot, cut him free and shadow travel him behind us somewhere safe."

"Got it," The purple haired boy said, pulling out the two-winged blades, Shadow and Bone. They were black blades, shaped like elongated W's with a revolver barrel and several dust canisters in them. It was perfect for Indigo's quick, free-slowing fighting style.

Robin nodded. "Az, when we head out, first call the police, tell them we're here on Ozpin's orders, and tell them to bring everyone. After that, call Coco tell her we found them."

"Understood, and after that? Where am I aiming first?" The bluenette asked, retying the bun of dark blue hair on his head.

"See those drums of dust? Wait for me to get them talking, then when I give the signal, take a shot at one," Robin said, looking over to Niko. "Niko you take Iggly and get on top of one of those shipping containers. After the fighting starts, come down and intercept that one girl."

"You got it!" Niko said excitedly, smirking at Robin. "You sure you can take that many by yourself?"

Robin smiled and with a quick flick of his wrist, pulled out both-now blue-swords from his waist. He pressed a button on one of them, and the cable from the bottom of it shot to connect to the other one. After pulling it to make sure it was still sturdy, Robin held them both over his shoulder and sucked in a deep breath.

Okay, this is what you all trained for… time to show why we are the best, Robin thought, smiling again and turning to his team.

"I'm sure. Ind, after getting the hostage out of there, come join me," Robin said, and after getting nods from all of them he turned and looked over the edge. "Okay… Team RAIN, move out!"

After that, Azure laid down on his stomach, perching his rifle over the edge, and the rest of them leapt off the building into the night for their first mission.

"Come on, come on move! You're all worthless, can't you move any faster?" The man, Torchwick complained, a cigar in his mouth as he waved his cane at the men moving the dust drums.

Robin, with both swords resting on his shoulders walked straight towards the group. None seemed to notice him at first, but Robin could hear them, the men groaned, the pink haired girl leaned on her umbrella with a cute smile while Torchwick seemed to have a permanently annoyed look on his face.

And the hostage….

"I swear when my mother hears about this, you're all done ya hear me!" The boy said, wiggling like a worm on the ground, his hands and feet bound. "You're done! OH, OR WORSE! MY SISTER?! When my big sister gets ahold of this, you're all dead!"

"Oh man why did we agree to this… Neo," Torchwick said with a flick of his hand, commanding the pink haired girl.

Neo-Robin now had a name to the powerful aura he saw- nodded and skipped towards the hostage and looked like she was going to smack him with her umbrella, but that was when Robin finally came to a stop, slamming both his swords into the ground in front of him.

"STOP!" He yelled, making one man almost trip with a dust drum, and everyone, Neo and Torchwick included turn to him. After having their attention Robin smirked. "The police are on their way, as well as more huntsman. You got one chance to give up before we make you."

Robin, like he had expected, didn't see any of them make a move to run away. Instead, they all seemed amused. He was used to it, not many professional criminals would at the sight of a kid like him. However, they were soon going to realize just how wrong they were.

The hostage, the younger man who had been screaming a moment ago, stopped and stared at Robin like a savior, and behind him, Robin saw the shadows of the shipping container ripple. Like he'd expected, all the drums of dust the thugs had been transporting were stopped with the men, and he knew for a fact Azure had called Coco and the police by now. As for Niko, he trusted him with his life, he'd be in position.

Torchwick let out a heft sigh and stepped forward with his cane. "Look kid, tonight's a really bad night for you to be playing vigilante. Since you were kind enough to give us a chance I'll give you one too. Get out of here, before you get hurt."

All the men reached for guns, swords, knives, axes or other weapons, while Robin saw the girl Neo step forward next to Torchwick with a completely nonchalant look to her. Robin didn't panic, he even managed to smile as he pulled his now blue, and darker blue sword from the ground. The quiver along his back under his cape was ready, his team was ready. They'd faced much worse then this.

Now, it was time to show why Ozpin had so much faith in them.

"I don't know, I think I have a good chance," Robin said, hefting his swords onto his shoulders. "After all, my little sister beat you pretty good a little while back. You remember her? Red hood, giant scythe, tends to turn into rose-petals?"

That made Torchwick's eyes go wide. "Her? Oh, for god's sake, there's more of you? What is the deal with kids in this town and wanted to get themselves killed… so, do you have a giant gardening tool that you're going to inconvenience my night with too?"

Robin laughed. "Ha, no gardening tools no, but I think I'm going to ruin your night even worse than she did."

Of all people, the hostage laughed. "HA, I like him! You hear that?! This kid is going to kick your butts, then after I get out oho, I swear I'll-."

"SHUT UP!" Torchwick snarled, turning his back to look at the kid. "I didn't agree to this plan to have your constant blabbering! You kids are all-."

Robin smiled as he saw his opportunity, and raised his sword up before swinging it down, and as he did a lone gunshot rang through the night.

As always, Azure didn't miss, his bullet his one of the dust drums and dust started leaking into the air.

Torchwick spun back with Neo. "What the hell?! Where-."

"GAHHHHHHH!" A loud scream from the thugs came next, as Robin said Indigo appear from the shadows, he grabbed onto the hostage and before the boy could make a sound, he melted back into the shadows which sent the thugs and Torchwick scrambling.

"Here boss," Indigo's voice said behind him, as he fell from the shadows, the boy who was a hostage with him, his bonds now cut. He fell to the ground huffing to regain his breath.

"My… my god thank you!" He said, looking up at Robin from the ground. "HA, you're really showing them!"

Robin smiled and helped him up. "You okay?"

"Yeah, never been better!" He said, holding out a hand. "My names Gil."

"Nice to meet you, Robin Rose," Robin said, shaking his hand, and turning back to Torchwick who had finally regained his composure as the red dust began to settle. "I'd back up if I were you."

"Don't have to tell me twice," Gil said, rushing backwards, as Robin waved his hand again.

"You brats and your damn hero complexes!" Torchwick said, turning his men. "Well?! Get them-."

Another shot came, this time Robin saw it flaming. A loud BOOM erupted, and just like his sister had caused the other morning a fiery explosion rang up in the port. The thugs screamed, some were blasted back as the dust began to settle, and that was when Robin saw a flash of pink. His semblance was already on, and he saw Neo's aura shadow coming for her seconds before she actually did.

He rolled to the side, as a sharp point had come out of Neo's umbrella. She spun it, finally looking angry, before getting into a stance and pointing it at Robin, who stood with Indigo.

"You know you can walk away," Robin said, shifting his stance and readying his swords.

Neo didn't say anything, only snarling and going to leap at them, which Robin of course saw before it happened. However, he saw another aura shadow intercept Neo's, and sure enough a few seconds later, a loud eagle cry pierced the air and Niko landed with a swing of his bladed staff in front of him before Neo could get to Robin. Robin smiled at first, before Neo… simply fell apart, like Niko had shattered a glass statue, Neo disappeared, and if not for his semblance, Robin would have been skewered from the side. He saw the edge of a shadow appear to his right and leaned back just narrowly avoiding the sharp point of Neo's umbrella.

He swung his one sword and knocked her weapon away easily enough, but with nimble feet she sprang back into a fighting stance, just as Niko and Indigo both got back up next to him.

Robin paused for a moment, she can disappear and reappear, leaving behind a clone… those kinds of semblances are tricky.

Robin's semblance letting him see into the future may have seemed impossible to beat on the outside, but he was well aware that wasn't true. He could only look in one direction at once, if Neo had come at him from behind, he may have been hit. He also could tell an illusion was an illusion, due it not having an aura, but that didn't mean summoning semblances couldn't simply overwhelm him with numbers.

"Niko, be careful with her," Robin said to the wolf-faunus. "Signal for Az if you need help."

"Ha, it'll be a piece of cake," Niko said with a smirk, stabbing his bladed staff into the ground and facing down Neo. "Hope you're ready gorgeous, don't think I'll go easy on ya just cause you're cute."

Neo didn't say anything again, but only smiled as she revealed the point of her umbrella again. Niko smiled and grabbed his staff from the ground, spinning it and twisting it from the middle, the two long bladed ends of his staff were in both his hands, and with a quick step he rushed towards Neo. They clashed, and that was when Robin saw more auras begin to move in his peripheral vision. He spun back around with Indigo as the thugs and Torchwick finally regained themselves.

Robin readied his swords, the cable connecting them both at the hilt. It was too close quarters to turn them into a bow, but he didn't mind. Indigo next to him started spewing small tendrils of shadows as he pulled out and spun his two-winged blades.

"Ready Ind?" He asked his teammates.

Indigo spun the dust cannisters in the revolver barrel built into his winged blades. "Ready boss."

"UGH you crazy kids!" Torchwick said dusting off his white coat and pointing out his cane towards them. "I just got this cleaned! Get them!"

The men all charged at him and Indigo, their aura shadows all became visible to Robin and he smiled, as shots from Azure came in and kept them at bay from all attacking at once.

"Indigo, black rose!" Robin yelled, rushing forward into the fray with his two blue swords.

"On it," Indigo yelled, spinning the revolver again before slamming the blades into the ground, shadows shot from all sides of his teammates and moved towards Robin.

The thugs screamed as Robin waded into them, under his feet the shadows from Indigo picked him up and like he was ice skating he glided around he port, swinging his sword and blocking the strikes that he saw coming. Indigo stood with his blades in the ground controlling the shadows and moved Robin back and forth and he cut through the thugs.

At one point he saw their shadows coming at him from all angles, and he leapt into the air. He looked down and saw all the thugs looking up at him and with both swords in hand he yelled as he came back down towards the ground.

"Now Ind!" Robin yelled as he fell.

Indigo nodded and sprang into action. He picked up the blades and sliding on the shadows he created, zipped forward towards the thugs who were looking at Robin. He went around and around and around them all creating a slippery ground of shadows just as Robin was about to land. Indigo leapt away, leaving the ring of shadows there, and as Robin landed, he didn't attack any of the thugs, he landed with one sword stabbing into the ground and pressed a trigger on his sword.

Bright blue dust shot from his sword onto the ground, and as the confused thugs were trying to figure out what was going on, Indigo leapt forward from one of the nearby shadows and grabbed Robin by the shoulders. Just as another shot from Azure's rifle came in, Indigo and Robin disappeared, Robin's stomach lurched as he and Indigo melted out of a nearby shadow. The shot hit the dust, and it exploded into ice, trapping the thugs inside the circle. Any who tried to run, slipped and fell back inside.

"BLACK AND BLUE!" Robin yelled, so Azure could hear him, and seconds later another shot came, this time trailing red dust.

Another fiery blow came, and Aura's broke, as the ice melted, and once it did, Robin pressed the button on one of his swords. The cable shot back together, connecting the two swords at the hilt, the blades curved, and the cable shot to connect them both.

"Cerulean Lightning," Indigo said with a smile next to him, as Robin pressed a button on the arrow quiver on his back.

The ice had melted, turning into water around the thugs, and that was when Robin pulled out the selected arrow, a canister of dusted lightning attached, and he loaded. The arrow flew seconds later, exploding and shocking every thug in the circle. Aura's broke, and finally the shadow ring disappeared, as the few who hadn't been inside of it looked on, and Robin believed they had to seriously be re-thinking their line of work, as at least a dozen of their friends were now on the ground defeated.

"You annoying brats!" Torchwick said, and while Robin couldn't see his aura shadow from behind, he heard him. Spinning, Robin raised up his bow to block the cane strike coming from Torchwick. The man snarled as Robin pushed him back. "Who are you little punks?!"

"Team RAIN!" Robin yelled, as the last few thugs gathered their nerve rushing towards him and Indigo. "And you can be sure if you try this again, you won't see the last of us!"

"GET THEM!" Torchwick yelled, sounding exasperated, before turning to the left. "Neo! Hurry up and let's-."

"Haha this is fun!" Niko said, ducking and avoiding Neo's attacks with her umbrella. "We should really do this again sometime!"

Robin looked on and saw an intense battle going on between Niko and Neo. Very rarely nowadays did any of them find someone who could make them sweat in a fight. Robin knew that would change when they entered the real world, but this was a good example of what they'd face, because Neo was seriously good. Niko was strong, but Neo seemed to almost be evenly matched.

Niko spun the two sides of his staff and fired shotgun blasts towards the girl, who opened her umbrella to block before stepping forward to strike. Niko leapt back and stuck one of his bladed staff ends into the ground and his aura flared. Just before Neo could attack, a massive grey wolf leapt into existence and got to Neo first. Neo fell into glass again as the wolf snarled, but Niko seemed to be anticipating this. Without even looking he spun around and swung one of his bladed staff ends and hit Neo just as she was going for another strike. The girl was sent sprawling for a moment before looking up angrily as she got to her feet.

A second later, Niko's summoned wolf was on her. She spun and stuck it with her umbrella, making it puff away into grey smoke, but Niko took the advantage and jumped forward again. Strikes were exchanged, and Robin even saw Niko's aura flare as he was hit. Niko spun and leapt back to avoid a strike and tried to fire again, but Neo deflected them, but Robin saw her aura flashing. However, Niko's was as well.

"Niko!" Robin yelled to him, but the wolf faunus laughed and shook his head.

"No need Robin! I got this covered, worry about your own fight!" He said, his smile not breaking as he rushed forward again.

"He's right kid better pay attention!" Torchwick's voice said from a few feet away, but Robin had already saw his aura shadow.

The blast from the edge of his cane came, but Robin smashed it away with his bow, before pressing the button and getting both his swords attached by a cable back, this time both were red.

Torchwick's eyes went wide. "What?! How the hell are you doing that?!"

Robin smiled. Another great thing about his semblance, was that other then the slight glow of his eyes, one silver one red glow, nobody really saw his semblance being used. If he pushed it forward and his eyes went white and radiated red aura they could, but using it normally, nobody would know the difference, like Torchwick now.

He was about to charge at the man but heard footsteps behind him. The thugs had charged at him, but Indigo intercepted. He threw his winged blades, and with his aura flaring a tendril of black shadows connected to them, and he spun into the thugs with the blades hitting and bouncing off them. They flew back into his hands and with shadows beneath his feet, he bounced and slid from one man to the next, gliding like he was on ice skates. He slammed his hand into the ground and black spots of shadows appeared all around him and the thugs.

One after another he melted into the shadows, when it was dark, Indigo had the advantage over just about anyone. He disappeared, repapered, leapt and struck, and nobody seemed to be flying as he appeared at the spots he'd summoned, he was like a whirlwind, a tornado of black and purple glows, as nobody could touch him. Finally, after knocking over a few, he came to a stop, only a few men still standing.

"Robin!" Azure suddenly said, his voice coming from Robin's scroll in his pocket. "More coming from the west, already on it."

Robin spun and saw sure enough a group of a half dozen thugs coming and rushing to the port to join the fight. However, like Azure had said, he was there. A sniper shot came from a nearby container, and Robin realized he must have moved without them knowing. The shot trailed bright blue dust and ice sprang up on the ground, sending the men slipping.

Robin then saw Azure leap down from above, his trident/sniper stabbing into the ice. He slowly rose, spinning the long trident and smirking as the men rose again. They all snarled and tried to attack the blue-haired sniper, but Robin's teammate using the trident stuck in the ice stood steady, and Robin knew he was using his semblance. Azure knew where all of them were coming from with his seismic senses, and with his fists and feet fought off the thugs, keeping himself grounded with his trident.

One came for a swing of his sword from behind, but Azure sensed it, he ducked, spun around his trident on the ice, yanked it from the ground and fired. The shot broke the man's aura and sent him sprawling, with one man left, Azure heard him coming from behind. He ducked the shot from the mans gun, and came up to punch him in the stomach.

Indigo had handled the other thugs, Niko was holding off Neo, Azure had beaten the men with ease… his team was already in fine form.

"Dammit! You god damn Rose's!" Torchwick yelled from next to him.

Robin saw the shadow and saw the shot coming again. He ducked, and Torchwick leapt back after shooting, but Robin was ready. He spun and lashed out with his swords, except he held the top of one of them, not the handle. Torchwick's eyes went wide, as Robin held the tip of his one sword with only his fingertips, and thanks to the cable connecting both blades, the opposite sword lashed out and smashed into Torchwick's side, breaking his aura and sending him sprawling backwards.

"GAHH!" He yelled, groaning and getting back to his knees, he looked up seething. "I didn't sign up for this… Neo! Let's-."

Neo was knocked back and landed in front of Torchwick, slowly rising to her knees as well, and Robin heard Niko laugh, the wolf faunus coming up next to him, plenty of new bruises on his body and holes in his grey hoodie as he spun his staff to his shoulder.

"Whew! You are a tough one that's for sure! Sure, you don't wanna come to Beacon?" Niko said smirking as he stood next to Robin.

Neo narrowed her eyes, but Robin saw a hint of appreciation in them.

"Done boss," Indigo said, coming up next to him.

"All clear Robin," Azure said next, the four of them now all facing down Torchwick and Neo.

Torchwick groaned again. "You kids are really getting on my nerves, you know that?! Neo, come on, we're getting out-."

"Everybody come out with your hands up!" A familiar voice shouted from a short distance away.

Robin turned and smiled. "Nice of you to show up Coco!"

Coco and her terrifying purse turned mini gun stood at the edge of the port with her team and smiled. "You know, you could have left some for us Robin!"

Robin shrugged. "Sorry, guess the criminals of Vale are sliding in quality," he turned back to Torchwick who simply looked annoyed. "Alright, you may get out of this if you tell me what you're gathering all this dust for. Trust me, if you thought I was scary, Coco will be downright terrifying."

Torchwick gritted his teeth as the Vale police and Coco's team started entering the port.

"You know kid, no matter how terrifying you think you are, it doesn't compare to the people I've been working for, but at least they're paying me," He said, a smirk coming to his face. "I'm sure we'll be seeing each other again. Neo!"

Azure's head shot up. "Robin, new airship!"

Neo stepped in front of Torchwick and bow, winking at Niko before breaking into glass with Torchwick behind her. Sure enough, the buzzing of an airship was heard overhead, and Robin looked up with his team to see an airship speeding by, with Torchwick and Neo both standing on it.

"Dammit!" Robin cursed, seeing the ship fly away over the water.

Niko rolled his eyes. "An annoyingly useful semblance that Neo has."

"People probably say the same about ours," Azure said, holding his trident over his shoulder.

Indigo just yawned. "Boss, can we stop for food?"

Robin sighed as he watched the airship get further and further away. He could see Neo and Torchwick both in the open bay, and while his teammates didn't seem too worried, Robin had a sinking feeling in his gut. He guessed Torchwick was right, this wasn't going to be the last they saw of the gang leader and Neo. Still, he had no idea what could have been happening to make them want so much dust, there's not a chance he was launching some type of military attack, he would never have enough men. He couldn't be selling all of the dust seeing as the Schnee's basically had a monopoly on the stuff.

So what is he up too… he thought as the ship got further away, only a speck before disappearing. He was about to turn around, but Niko beat him too it by slapping him on the shoulder.

"Don't look so down Robin, we just stopped a robbery, you're allowed to smile you know," He said, as Robin sighed again and looked at his team.

Azure nodded in agreement. "He's right Robin, we did good tonight."

"Boss, I'm starving," Indigo said with a yawn.

Azure rolled his eyes. "You had what, three plates of cake?"

"Not enough," The purple haired boy said, which made Niko snort out a laugh and Azure roll his eyes.

Robin chewed at his lip as he watched his team laugh and remembered Ruby's team back at Beacon. Finally calming his nerves and pushing away his wondering thoughts, he managed to relax. He'd report to Ozpin and then go on with what the Professor ordered.

Or maybe I'll give dad a call, and see what he says, Robin thought, before finally sliding both his swords back into the sheaths on his belt.

"Well… we won yeah, but we learned basically nothing," He mumbled, before looking at his teammates again. "Still, great job, another successful mission for Team RAIN."

Niko laughed. "Ha, and we've only been back for three days! You think Oz will let us skip some classes because we're just soooo busy with missions-."

Azure cut him off by smacking the back of his head. "No Niko we're still going to class. There's still plenty we have to learn."

"Oww… alright, alright jeez, just wondering," Niko said, rubbing the back of his head, before pressing a button on his staff. The weapon folded in half, and Niko slung its strap around his back.

Robin laughed as Azure did the same with his weapon as he shrunk down to the size of a large fork which he clipped to his waist.

Indigo poked his shoulder. "Boss, can we-."

"Yes, Indigo we can get food on the way back," Robin laughed, as his own stomach was rumbling. It was only around nine at night, he was sure some places were open. Niko and Azure both nodded as well, and he was about to check his wallet when someone else shouted from behind them.

"Please! Let me be the one to pay for your meals tonight my friends!" The voice said behind them, and Robin turned with his team to see Gil, the boy who'd been held hostage.

Robin smiled; the boy looked friendly enough. He had a head of messy golden hair, with eyes that were orange like a burning fire. He didn't seem like he was even any older then they were, but he was dressed nice with black slacks, and a nice black jacket over a white t-shirt.

Coco and Team CFVY, and the rest of the Vale police that had come began rounding up the unconscious thugs as the boy came to them.

"Gil, right?" Robin said as the boy smiled at them. "You really don't have to do that."

"He's right," Niko said, jabbing at Indigo with his thumb. "Don't underestimate how much he can eat, especially when someone's offering to pay for it."

"The craziest part is that he never gains any weight," Azure added.

Indigo yawned again. "I'm built different."

Robin rolled his eyes at his teammates. Sometimes he really wondered how they managed to accomplish all that they did.

Gil, however, didn't seem to mind. "Haha, no please I insist. It's the least I can do for you saving me!"

Robin smiled, he seemed earnest enough. He looked to his team and they all nodded, after that he turned back to Gil. "Well, if you insist, I'll help pay for it. I'm glad we were able to get you out, you're not hurt right?"

"Nope, not at all thanks to you four! That was awesome, just like the huntsman in the stories!" He said, seemingly ready to bounce out of his shoes, he reminded Robin of Ruby then as he spoke.

Niko chuckled. "Just you're friendly neighborhood huntsman saving the day! Common thugs are nothing to Team RAIN, the best team at Beacon Academy!"

"Niko, stop showboating," Robin said with a roll of his eyes.

Gil's eyes, however, went wide. "You're Team RAIN?! I heard about you guys, you all killed that Leviathan and saved Vale last year!"

Robin rubbed his head sheepishly. "Ha… yeah, that was us. It really wasn't a big deal. Like I said, I'm Robin Rose, this is Niko, Azure, and Indigo."

"Sup," Niko said with a wink.

"Nice to meet you," Azure said next.

"Yo," Indigo said with a yawn.

Robin laughed nervously again. "Still can't believe we killed that thing…"

"It's because you're all a perfect team! You work together so well, it's like you can read each other's minds," Gil said, a starstruck look to him. "I watched the live-stream all the way from Mistral, you were all amazing!"

Azure laughed. "Ha, you mean Robin was amazing. He's modest as can be, everyone knows he did most of the work. We wouldn't have even gone after it if not for him."

"It's true," Indigo said.

Niko nodded and threw his arm around Robin's shoulder. "That's right! Our fearless leader is going to be the best huntsman in Remnant! That is if either of his little sisters don't have anything to say about it!"

Niko poked Robin's face and he smacked it away, he rolled his eyes. "I told you all, I'd be nothing without my teammates. That's how huntsman work, we rely on each other."

"Wow… I can't believe I got saved by Robin Rose and Team RAIN!" Gil said, drawing the attention back to him. The boy smiled and nodded firmly. "Even more now, let me buy you all your meals tonight! I'd be happy to."

Azure nodded. "Thanks, but… how'd you end up getting trapped on the docks? You don't seem that much older than us. You said you're from Mistral?"

Gil nodded back. "Just turned 17! I'm in town to see my Uncle. He owns a shop in town. I knew a shipment was coming tonight so I came to make sure that it was delivered, got nabbed when I saw that guy with the bad hat and his thugs grab it."

"But you said you're from Mistral?" Robin asked.

"Yeah, I just started at Haven not long ago, Uncle really needed some help, so I was only supposed to be here a few days," He explained with a smile on his face. "I'll head back soon, but after that I'll be here for the Vytal Festival!"

The Vytal Festival, Robin had forgotten all about. Next semester was the biggest fighting tournament of the year, which his team would probably be expected to win. He'd need to whip them back into shape after a bit of a lazy summer soon, and in doing so, he could help Ruby's team as well.

Robin smiled at Gil and nodded. "Ha, well, look forward to seeing your team then."

A crooked smile crossed Gil's face. "Ha… oh, my team's pretty good I'd say, you'll get a good look I promise!"

"Fantastic!" Niko said, stepping forward before Robin could ask more. "So, Gil, right? What was that again about food? Because there is this great ramen shop that you will absolutely love if it's your first time back in Vale."

Niko started walking away while dragging Gil along, and Indigo wasted no time in following after them, moving as fast as Robin had seen him move all night.

However, Robin didn't follow, something stirred in his stomach as he looked out over the night sky, thinking about the fight they'd just had. The hair on the back of his neck stood up… why was he so nervous? Were these the 'huntsman instincts' his Uncle talked about, where you could simply sense danger?

"Robin? You okay?" Azure said, coming up next to him.

Robin squeezed the hilt of his swords, his red cape blew back as a gust of wind shot into his face.

Something's coming… but what?

He shook his head. "I'm fine… I think we should be careful Az. I don't think this is the last fight we'll have even in the next few weeks."

Azure laughed and clapped a hand onto his shoulder. "Ha, we expected it didn't we? No worries, we'll beat anything that comes our way. Let's just focus now on having some fun and enjoying our time here while we have it. My sister always said graduating is the best and worst thing that can happen to a huntsman."

"Your sister was smart," Robin said with a sigh. "And she's right…"

"Of course she was!" Az said with a smile. "Your sisters are here! Niko's best-friend from when he was little is with them, and the ice queen has been looking at you since we got here. It'll be a fun year if we let it be."

Robin's face suddenly flustered. "She has not been looking at me!"

Az laughed again. "Ha, whatever you say Robin. Come on, I'm actually pretty hungry myself."

Robin rolled his eyes and followed his teammate, looking out over the water one last time.

Whatever comes our way… we'll be ready.

XxxxxxxxxxxxxxX

"Urghh… that place was pretty good," Gil mumbled as he approached the warehouse base, rubbing his stomach as he did. "And Niko was right, I can't believe that scrawny kid ate that much."

It was almost midnight now and Gil was sure everyone had to be back, his sister included. Of course he had… taken his orders from the Queen in a different direction, but he knew she wouldn't care, he was her greatest weapon after all! He thought he could win this fight for her in a matter of days if he really wanted but… where would the fun in that be? If Robin Rose and his team could take down his Leviathan… perhaps he could give Gil what he had always wanted.

"Stop!" One of the whit fang guards said as he got close, the other raising his gun as well.

Gil groaned. "I have had a long night gentleman; I'd advise against getting in my way now."

His eyes glew, he reached out his hand and flames started glowing as well. After a second, a long-curved glass sword formed in his hands. He wasn't going to attack of course; he never wasted his time with weaklings, what was the point of him expending his time and effort on those who couldn't make him sweat a little in a fight.

However, seeing his glass sword showed them who he was, and after they saw they both shrunk and almost fell back into the walls. The look of utter terror on their faces provided Gil with even more entertainment for that night. He knew that eventually he'd have to kill them, but Team RAIN did make for good company he did admit.

And if the four of them, Robin Rose in particular provided him with what he'd always been looking for, that made them even more precious to them. Only a few people on Remnant were worthy of his time and effort, so when he found new ones, it got him particularly excited.

"Mr. Gilgamesh!" The one said, scrambling to stand up straight again. "Apologies sir, I didn't know it was-."

"Yeah, yeah whatever," Gil said, letting the glass sword fall away. He pushed the hair out of his face and looked up at the massive warehouse. "Your boss back yet? Ran pretty fast at the port."

"Yes sir!" The faunus guard said, his voice trembling. "Arrived not long ago!"

Gil nodded. "My sister and her lap dogs?"

"Here as well sir!" The guard said, trying not to meet Gil's eyes.

Gil laughed and patted him on the shoulder. "Thanks buddy, try not to die alright?"

The breath the faunus had been holding slowly releasing was amusing to Gil. The guard had been going to open the door, but Gil smiled, deciding it was time to test out one of the new additions to his collection. He stopped the man and focused on the door, the shadows from the night surrounding it, and the ones he knew were behind. Next, he pictured the purple haired boy, Indigo who had eaten him out of six bowls worth of ramen.

After just like that, he smiled when the shadows bent to his will, and he melted into the doors darkness, and reappeared on the other side with a plop.

He laughed and felt a chill run up his spin. "Ohoho that one is going to be fun!"

"There you are!" An annoyed voice said. "You little punk, do you have any idea how much of disaster that was! When I agreed to your plan, I didn't think it'd involve brats like that!"

Gil felt Torchwick and Neo's footsteps coming up through the ground before they got to him, which made him even more giddy. Seismic senses! This is awesome! No wonder that team looks unstoppable.

He saw Neo stomp up to him, luckily for her she Gil found her quite cute. Torchwick was behind her, and when she poked at him with her umbrella, he focused on her face.

And when the umbrella poked him, he fell into a pile of glass, which he was sure shocked both of them.

"Relax," Gil said, reappearing behind Torchwick and leaning against his desk with a map of Vale sprawled out on the wall. "You played your part and it worked, Ozpin sent Team RAIN, we lured them out and now that I've seen them, I can finally put a face to the ones who ruined things last year."

A smile crossed his face as he looked at the map, no wonder Neo's so strong, that's going to certainly come in handy as well.

Torchwick growled with Neo scowling next to him. "They're just a bunch of kids! What could they possibly do to get in the way?"

Gil laughed and turned around, jumping and sitting on the desk. "Oho, don't underestimate Team RAIN or the huntsman Roman, you aren't strong enough for that."

Torchwick grinded his teeth. "It was bad enough with just your sister around, now with you-."

"Roman," A smooth voice came from above. "What is it that's caused such a… you?! What the hell are you doing here?!"

Gil turned and a wicked smile crossed his face. "Oh what's wrong? A little brother can't come and visit the big sister that he loves and adores with all his heart? Did you ever think maybe I just missed you oh so terribly?"

"The thought never crossed my mind," His sister said, coming down the lift from above, her orange flame like eyes glaring at him. "You don't do anything for someone else's sake. What's your plan here Gilgamesh?!"

"Cinder, dear, loving big sister I'm so hurt!" Gil said, his hands over his heart, fake frowning at his big sister who stalked over to him, her fists curled. "Why, I just wanted to help you on your mission oh so much, and it seems like I was right, you did need my help."

Cinder hadn't changed much in the few months since Gil last saw her, since the Queen had dispatched her to find the fall maiden and collect Beacon's relic. He had wanted to go with her from the start, but the Queen had been adamant that it was Cinder's turn to prove herself like he had.

However, after some coaxing Gil had been dispatched to… observe his sisters progress, which he would do… while also trying to acquire the one thing he wanted above all else. It was killing two birds with one stone, he'd finally get the challenge he desired, and he could get the Queen her relic, while also helping his sister, it was wins all around!

"What are you talking about?!" She demanded, Torchwick and Neo all but forgotten as they glared on from behind her.

Gil was the only one who didn't really flinch under his sister's glare. Even now, with her eyes flaming, half of the maidens' powers within her, she didn't frighten him. He knew he was better then her, she knew it as well, his collection was far too vast for anyone to defeat.

He smirked as her face wasn't far from his, he patted her cheek. "Big sister, have you noticed how only one of your eyes are flaming? I'm aware you somehow only received half the fall maidens' power."

Cinder's eyes went wide for a moment, before they flamed again. "How could you possibly know that?"

He laughed. "Ha, you think I wasn't keeping an eye on you? You and your lackeys-." She glared at him for his choice of words and Gil rolled his eyes. "Sorry, disciples were chased off by Qrow Brawnwen were you not?"

"You saw… and yet you didn't step into help?!" Cinder demanded of him.

Gil scoffed. "Of course not, Qrow Brawnwen wasn't worth my time… his nephew however… Mr. Robin Rose, yes, now he is of great interest to me, him and his team. Another factor you didn't account for."

It was Cinder's turn to scoff. "Unbelievable, you came all this way, to interfere with my mission, just so you could find the ones that foiled your plot last year? And you call me childish."

"That's because you are dear sister," Gil said, before narrowing his eyes. "But you're wrong. I am here to make sure you don't screw things up for the Queen… and if I happen to finally find someone worthy of my attention along the way… all the better."

"You're an insufferable little brat, you know that Gilgamesh?"

"Cinder!" Gil said, feigning surprise. "That's the kindest thing you've ever said to me! Do you want to hug just like the good old days?"

Cinder grinded her teeth. "If you're here, I hope you're at least being useful. Roman came back screaming and whining, what did you waste our forces on this time?"

"You know, dealing with a brat like this wasn't a part of our deal!" Torchwick commented form behind her.

His sister rolled her eyes. "If I knew dealing with him was part of my deal, I would have drowned myself years ago."

"Okay now that's just plain mean sis," Gil said.

"Forget it!" She snapped, shaking her head. "What was it you wanted to accomplish with this little stunt of yours tonight? I hope you at least got something useful out of it."

A crooked smile came to Gil's face. "Oh… dear sister I did. I have so many new additions to my collection…."

Gil focused on the face of Robin Rose… and then he opened his eyes, and they glowed.

And after that, Gil saw the future, the aura shadows of the future and he couldn't help but cackle a laugh.

"Ohohohoho HA!" He laughed almost falling over. "So this is how he's so strong! This is what built the legend of Robin Rose! Oh… oh yes… this is going to be SO MUCH FUN!"
