Chapter 2

Colonel Jonathan "Jack" O'Neill watched in amazement as Steve LaMinion took on the 75 pound challenge at the local eatery. The challenge was to eat 75 pounds of food from a commercial size kitchen baking sheet in 45 minutes or less. The winner would get a free meal, their picture displayed on the wall of fame and a trophy.

The golden trophy glimmered before Steve's eyes as no minion could resist such a prize. It was just a cheaply made trophy but for a minion it was everything. Cassie and Daniel kept him going throughout the food challenge by pointing to the prized trophy. As Steve ate like a minion before the group Sam and Janet both wondered if he would survive the challenge.

Sam stated, "That cannot be good for you."

"Where is he putting it all?" Janet wondered for she never saw any human being eat like a minion before.

Sam agreed, "I hope he doesn't get sick."

"I hope we don't have to take him to the E.R.." Janet added.

Even Teal'c watched on as the event unfolded. The 75 pound challenge would have taken down any good Jaffa. He too had to admit he was impressed by Steve's uncanny ability to eat.

As the tray before Steve was getting bare and his belly was getting rather full, even for a minion, Steve nearly didn't make the challenge. The very last forkful of food was just inches from his lips as he sat feeling as if he was about to burst.

Cassie urged him to finish, "You can do it, Steve."

For a minion the worlds of a child were golden. He gathered his strength and gently placed the last of the food in his mouth, chewed and swallowed.

Cassie jumped up cheering, "Steve did it! He won!"

Daniel knew what was to come fore he had witnessed Steve over eat before. He waited for the belch of all belches to erupt. He moved himself slightly away from his foster brother in preparation.

Then Steve let out a belch that could make a Jaffa blush. It was a giant burp that echoed through the establishment. Upon releasing the gas Steve felt much better. He grinned ready for more fun.

The cook came out with the trophy and took his photo for the wall. He congratulated him on the feat and picked up the tab for the whole table thus Daniel and his friends all got a free dinner due to Steve's minion ways.

Janet asked, "You need to go lay down now, Steve?" She hoped he was not about to vomit or have a toxic reaction to the overload of calories.

He grinned, "It's karaoke time." He stood up from his seat, with just a bit of a wobble and then went to the karaoke machine.

Sam gasped, "No way he can sing after that."

Steve, being a minion was ready to rock and roll. Music was the only cure he would need. He brought up the machine and tune to the Village People's YMCA song began to play. He began to sing the words…in minion.

Sam sat stupefied, "What the hell? He's partying after that." She watched as the dance floor filled with people all singing along and doing the dance with Steve.

Jack sat beside himself. "This guy is indestructible." he concluded.

Daniel had to agree, "Steve is one of a kind. There is no one else like him."

Cassie pulled Jack up from his seat. "Come on, Jack. Let go do the dance."

Daniel watched on as Jack was now on the dance floor dancing with Cassie to the silly song that Steve was singing in minion. With his foster brother in town he began to laugh again as he missed the mayhem that a minion could bring.

Star Gate Command

Major Samantha Carter returned to work with the song from the weekend still playing in her mind. As she rode the elevator down she hummed the YMCA song to herself. The lift paused and Jack stepped on.

"Morning sir." she grinned.

"Carter." he gave a nod.

The lift started down again.

Jack heard the humming. He looked over at her. "YMCA song?"

"It's been going in my head every since." she confessed.

"Least we didn't have to take him to the hospital after he ate all that." Jack mentioned.

"Steve is very unique." she agreed. "He's fun. He got Daniel to laugh and smile. Not many can get him to relax."

Jack concluded, "He's weird. In a fun way but weird."

She agreed, "They broke the mold when they made him. We should embrace our uniqueness like Steve does. He just does what he wants and has fun."

Jack stood and shivered.

"What?" she asked.

"Just imagine what it would be like if that guy had a twin." he stated.

She rolled her eyes, "It's not like there is a whole bunch of Steves out there, sir."

"Good thing." he agreed. "He's weird." He then added, "I went to Daniel's place Sunday to check on him. Frasier said he maybe very sick after all that. He was up and making banana pancakes. He was eating like a pig." He wondered, "Where does he put it?"

Sam teased, "Spare stomach?"

Jack shrugged, "Who knows."

The elevator came to the floor and both existed. They started down the hallway. As they made their way General Hammond himself came to greet the pair.

George Hammond called, "Major Carter. Colonel O'Neill."

Jack replied, "Sir." He and Sam both stood before the General in the hallway.

He seemed a bit flustered, "Over the weekend SG-2 brought back another quantum mirror they found off world. I authorized standard testing to be done. It activated."

Jack let out a heavy sigh, "Which one of us came through this time?"

"None of us. These things that came through are not human. They are small, yellow and speak their own language. They are also a lot of trouble. It's been a challenge keeping them contained." he reported. "The moment Dr. Jackson comes in I want him to try to establish a dialect with these…things."

Jack asked, "Small yellow things?"

"This way." he motioned for Jack and Sam to follow.

General Hammond led the two officers to an observation room overlooking a room that contained the minions that came through the mirror. Jack and Sam both looked down at the scene below. A dozen small yellow, pill shaped beings wearing blue denim with black boots and gloves with goggles were mingling about the area below. Some had two eyes, some had one eye. Some of the beings were tall, a few were more rounded and the smallest was a round little ball shaped being holding a teddy bear. They were fighting over video games, some played pool as they were given the items to occupy them.

George stated, "We found one food that they love. Bananas. They seem to like Walter. They won't attack him."

Walter then entered the room below as guards closed the door behind him. He handed out fruit to the yellow beings below who all seemed very happy to see him.

Jack asked, "What are those things?"

Sam shook her head, "I have no idea."

Teal'c entered the room behind them with Janet and Daniel as he was tasked to bring the pair to the observation room.

Daniel asked, "What's the emergency?" His eyes then settled on the scene unfolding below. "Okaay…"

Janet cocked an eyebrow, "I've have never seen anything like that. Those came through the mirror?"

"They did." George agreed. He then flipped a switch, "They have their own language."

As Daniel listened he picked up on words he knew that Steve had taught him. He cocked his head, "I can understand them."

Hammond asked, "You can? What are they saying?"

"They like Walter because he's nice and brings bananas to them." he informed. ""It's Steve's language. Minion."

Hammond gasped, "Excuse me?"

"My foster brother speaks this weird language that I always assumed he had made up. He taught it to me when were in the foster homes together. He called it 'minion' ." He then recognized the pattern of the clothing. "Bib overalls." he pondered if perhaps Steve somehow knew of these creatures. He stated, "I'm going down to talk to them." He stepped back from the window and made his way down the stairs to the room below while the other observed from above.

Daniel had the guard open the door and he stepped into room unsure just what would happen to him. The minions all gave their attention.

"Um…bello." he greeted and dropped down to one knee to come to eye level.

Kevin was most surprised to hear a human say hello in Minion. He stepped forward. "Bello. To conto minion?"

Daniel gave a slight smile and nodded, "A friend taught me to speak minion."

"Ben?" he asked who taught him.

"His name is Steve." he stated.

Kevin gasped, "Steve! Donde tis le?" He asked where his brother was.

Daniel replied, "He's working right now. Where are you from?"

"Pehyup." he replied.

"Mirror?" Daniel asked to clarify.

Kevin tried to explain with hand motions and sound effects much like Steve would.

"You were a warehouse and found the mirror and it brought you to the ruins where those men found you and brought you here through the Gate." he gathered. "What warehouse?" he wondered.

"Smithsonian." Kevin informed. "Gum Steve. Eye of Horus."

"The Eye of Horus." Daniel blinked wondering what his friend had done. "When did you lose Steve?"

Kevin counted on his hands and replied.

Daniel puckered in thought for that was how long he had known Steve for.

Kevin pulled on Daniel's arm and begged for Steve to be brought to them so they can all go home.

"I will bring Steve here. You…um…"

"Minions." Kevin instead.

"Minions just stay here." He then rose to his feet and left the room wonder just who or what his foster brother was.

Short Time Later

Daniel drove to the local construction site to gather Steve. He soon found his foster brother in an array of overall clad men. He noticed Steve was essentially dressed like a minion as he looked upon the man wearing the bib overalls, black boots, gloves and yellow shirt.

Steve asked upon seeing Daniel emerge from his jeep. "Whaat aka?"

Daniel smirked, "I need you to come with me. It's an emergency."

Without hesitation Steve called, "Boss! My brother is here. I have to leave for an emergency."

An older man yelled back, "Alright Steve. Give me a call when you get a chance."

He then climbed in Daniel's car leaving his yellow painted work truck at the site. He asked, "Tis midoo okay?"

Daniel shook his head, "Where I work in the mountain is a top secret base. In that base is a mirror that connects to other realities. About a dozen little yellow creatures came through that mirror. They speak your language."

Steve gasped, "Minions!"

"That what they said they are." he confirmed and began to drive. As he drove back to base he asked Steve more questions. "The leader is named Kevin. I told him about you. He said you are their brother and you have been missing for years. You were taken by an artifact called the Eye of Horus. Wanna tell me what is going on, Steve?"

He replied, "I used to look different. I was driving the get away van after the boss stole the Eye of Hours. Swamp Creature slimed the highway and I lost control of the van and it flipped. The eye was in a crate. It broke and the eye rolled up to me and was right next to me when it activated. I was sucked inside and when I was inside it changed me into a human. I was spit back out but in your world where they are no minions. I was alone. I was taken to a foster home and you know the rest."

Daniel asked, "You are not human?"

"I'm human now." he assumed. "The Eye changed me into a human."

"Where is the eye you came out of?" he asked.

He shrugged, "I think it's in the attic of the house they found me in. Looks like a bowling ball."

"Why didn't you tell me this before, Steve?" he asked.

He rebutted, "Who is going to believe me? There are no minions in this world. I looked. How many came through this mirror you got?"

"Twelve." he reported. "How many minions are there in your world?"

He counted on his fingers, "Eh, ten thousand or so."

Daniel's mouth dropped, "Are you serious? Where do you come from?"

"The dawn of time." he replied. "We're sixty million years old."

"How can that be?" he shook his head in disbelief.

Steve shrugged, "Just is!"

Daniel drove in absolute shock. "My foster brother is a minion from another reality who is sixty million years old."

"Meh," Steve shrugged it off for to Steve that was simply life.

"I can't believe this." Daniel sounded shaking his head.
