The brush moved in slow, gentle strokes. Combing through each strand of hair. Seeking out any unwanted knots and tugging them out until they no longer existed. The recipient of such treatment, Emilia, was humming softly as she let the other girl see to her work.

"Thank you for brushing my hair tonight, Ram-san." Emilia then gave a pleasant sigh as a knot was tugged free.

Sitting on a stool, Emilia smiled gleefully as Ram stood behind her. Eyes focused and unmoving. She ran a hand through a part of Emilia's hair. She had just brushed that spot, and was pleased to find it was free of any tangles. However there was still much work to be done.

Ram smiled as she moved the brush through Emilia's gorgeous silver locks. "It is no problem at all, Emilia-sama," she smiled. "Ram's entire purpose is to serve."

Emilia pouted at that, before letting out a small grumble of discontent. Ram was surprised at this reaction, and was confused as she didn't think she said anything wrong. However the half-elef seemed quite miffed at what she just heard.

"Don't talk about yourself like that, Ram-san!" Emilia demanded. "You know I don't like it when you demean yourself." This had been something ongoing for a while, and despite Emilia's many attempts, there didn't seem to be an end to it.

Ram was taken aback, shocked by Emilia's declaration. "M-My apologies, Emilia-sama," she humbly apologized. "But it is true. Apart from being a maid, there is nothing else Ram is good for."

Emilia actually gasped at this. Ram had ceased her movements and the brush currently resided in Emilia's silver hair. The hairs clinging to hers. "Don't say that!" Emilia shouted. "That-That's not a nice thing to say!"

Ram was speechless. She wasn't sure what to follow up with. Thankfully for her though, Emilia wasn't done speaking. With her arms crossed, she opened her mouth to talk once more.

"You're soooo much better than you give yourself credit for, Ram-san!" Emilia insisted. "You're kind, hard-working, and sooo pretty!"

"Pretty?" Ram blushed slightly at the compliment. "Oh, Ra-Ram isn't sure-"

"It's true!" Emilia said with a confident smile. "You are beautiful Ram-san! Inside and out. And not only beautiful, but very cute as well!"

Ram's blush increased. She supposed that could be debatable, or rather, acceptable.

"Heh," Ram chuckled for a second. "Ram does admit that she is rather cute." Similar to her sister, her cuteness factor was off the charts. Something that Emilia seemed to agree with.

"And you're smart too!" Emilia continued. "Like yesterday, when I was having trouble with a problem with my studying, you had no problem helping me out and even got it solved in no time! You're suuuper smart, Ram-san!" she said encouragingly.

"Well..." Ram looked off to the side and blushed again. "R-Ram remembers that. So maybe I am quite smart..." Feeling her esteem rise, Ram was once again glad that she decided to spend some time with Emilia for a while.

"Mmhm!" Emilia gave a wide smile. "That's right!" The silver-haired girl beamed proudly, happy she was getting to the maid.

"Is there...anything else perhaps? That you would like to compliment Ram for?" Ram began to continue to brush Emilia's hair, giving the locks some much needed attention.

"Hmm...Well let's see..." There was so much to choose from. "Well for one, I reeeally like your cooking!"

Emilia always loved Ram's cooking. Even more than Rem's. For some reason, Emilia always found herself gravitating towards the pink oni's dishes instead of the blue's.

"Why thank you," Ram simply replied. "What dish of Ram's is your favorite?" She rather enjoyed hearing what Emilia liked about her.

"Steamed tatoes of course!" Emilia giggled. "I also like your peeled appas."

"Ram does enjoy cooking fruits and vegetables, so I'm glad you enjoy them as well," Ram smiled. Emilia giggled as Ram continued to brush her hair until it was silky smooth.

"You also have beautiful eyes," Emilia hummed. "They're bright red. Like rubies."

"My eyes?" Ram honestly thought her eyes were quite vulgar. "Do you really mean that?"

"Of course!" Emilia beamed. "Why would I ever lie to you? Everything I say is the full truth."

Ram gave a small smile. "You're too sweet, Emilia-sama. I think it's fair time Ram turns the tables."

"Huh?" Emilia blushed at that. "What do you mean?" The half-elf gave a nervous gulp. She wasn't too sure as to what Ram had in mind. Whether it be something dangerous or ludicrous, she was cautious and anxious all the same.

"I mean it's time Ram compliments you," Ram giggled. "For one, your hair is marvelous. Silky smooth." She ran a hand through her thoroughly brushed hair, clear of any knots and tangles.

"R-Reeeaaally?" Emilia blushed. Shivering slightly when Ram's fingertips brushed against her scalp.

"Your skin as well." Ram ran her hands down Emilia's arms. "It's flawless. You truly are a beautiful specimen, Emilia-sama."

"B-But I'm a half-elf..." Emilia whispered. Her face red and flustered. Ram gave a warm chuckle.

"And? That doesn't take away from your beauty. But not only are you gorgeous, your personality is as well. You're so nice and kind. Ram is sometimes envious of your empathy," Ram said genuinely.

Emilia couldn't help but blush at that. "Awww...Thank you. You're so nice, Ram-san!"

"Thank you," Ram grinned. "But you're even nicer." In an act that shocked Emilia, Ram leaned down and hugged her from behind. "I'm glad I serve you. I'm glad I serve you and no one else."

Emilia's shocked face morphed into a delighted smile. "And I'm glad to have you, Ram-san. Thank you for always being there for me," she said gratefully.

"It is no issue whatsoever. Now..." Ram flipped through her silver locks. "I think you're all good now."

"Hold it! We aren't done!" Emilia shouted.

"Eh? We're not?" Ram blinked Emilia then stood up and grabbed the brush from Ram's hand.

"I gotta brush your hair now! Make it look suuuper cute!" she squealed.

Ram giggled at her enthusiasm. "Very well then. Please brush Ram's hair."

"Will do!"

With warmth in their hearts, the two held soft smiles, and soft hair, for the rest of the night.
