Author's Note: When I reposted this story to SpaceBattles, somebody pointed out that you needed a LONG time to write down the names of 20 billion people. This is my fix for that.
EXTRA: 190 Years
-votsr-
He was not sure when he had lost track of time.
He had paused it to begin his centuries-long writing spree when he was in his shared living quarters. The others in the room at the time became statues, ones that quickly lost their novelty.
190 years. It had taken the Death God 190 years of frozen time to write down the names of 20 billion sapients. It was only possible in his universe: Element Zero interacted with the Death Note, allowing them to stop time. It did not do this anywhere else.
Never once in the near two centuries of writing did he pause. Never did he consider that what he was doing was an unspeakable atrocity.
Perhaps if he had, he wouldn't be so lonely in the afterlife.
