Chapter 2 All Duel Hands on Deck

After getting to the harbor, Reisho flashes the uncarding device as a ship appears. All of them quickly get on the ship before the other Fusion Dimension residents notice that they are enemies.

"To think you've already prepared a luxurious ship..." Risu says in awe.

"This is one of the best ships in Miami City, thanks to the founders who want to help us with stopping Academia." Reisho says.

"Now we should set sail. Do you know how to sail a ship?" Vivian asks.

Reiji says, "Leave it to me." Then he leaves for the control room.

"Now we are ready to go." Yuya says.

"I told you that it isn't going to happen. You'll never reach Academia." Just then, much to their surprise, Dennis also boards the ship.

"Dennis?" This causes everyone to be prepared.

"That was a dirty trick, but now you can't run." Dennis says.

"You're either bold or stupid to board an enemy ship like that, Dennis." Yuya says. "You do realize that every one of us here can beat you easily."

"On the other hand, even though you successfully escaped me before, this time we're surrounded by the ocean. You can't run away. So you have no choice but to face me, Teacher." Dennis says as he turns to Yusho.

"I'll take that duel." Everyone is surprised as Kaito is the one stepping forward.

"Kaito?" Shun asks with surprise and the others are having the same expression.

"If I beat you in a Duel, you'll have to tell us all the strong enemies in Academia." Kaito says.

"Lose? Me? Like that's going to happen. I mean, you're one of those who got destroyed by Academia, right?" Dennis asks.

"We were not destroyed." Yuto says. "Academia's army has already stood down and is rebuilding the Xyz Dimension."

"And the Synchro Dimension is already rebuilt as well." Crow says.

"I remember how important comrades are, that's why I'm going to fight." Kaito says.

"Alright. I'll fight. Beating up one of Teacher's students in front of him should be fun. Not just us, but we should let these spectators watch too. A fantastic Entertainment Duel by Sakaki Yusho's students!" Dennis says.

"Are you sure that's fine?" Ryu asks his mother.

"Maybe. It is a duty to watch over them as a teacher." Sarah says. "That might be what Yusho is thinking."

"Everyone! Please enjoy this, which is rarely seen on top-class passenger lines. A Super Gorgeous Stage Show!" Dennis says. "It's called The Entertainment Duel Show!"

"Hey! How dare you use the name of the Entertainment Duel!" Sawatari yells.

"Calm down, Sawatari." Gongenzaka says.

"The contestants are two students of the unrivaled entertainer, Sakaki Yusho. Me, Dennis, and...today's heel, Kaito!"

"Who is the heel? Don't mess with me!" Kaito yells while activating his Duel Disk.

"You're so boring. Are you really Sakaki Yusho's student? You can't make smiles with that scary face." Dennis says.

"And who do you think is the reason?" Jean counters.

"Well then, let's begin!" Dennis says. "Duel!" (Kaito:4000)(Dennis:4000)

"I'll start with a magnificent opening. My turn! With Scale 2 Entermage Bubble Gardna and Scale 5 Entermage Candy Craftsman, I set the Pendulum Scale! With this, I can Summon monsters from Levels 3 to 4! Pendulum Summon! Come forth, my monsters! First, Entermage Hat Tricker. (ATK:1100/DEF:1100 LV:4) Also, Entermage Flame Eater! (ATK:1200/DEF:1600 LV:4)

"Just like last time, two Level 4s..." Sona sighs.

"You guys already know that I can't duel without this guy. I Overlay my Level 4 Entermage Hat Tricker and Flame Eater! The show must go on! Artisan of the air, swing across the stage with grace! Xyz Summon! Appear now! Rank 4 Performage Trapeze Magician! (ATK:2500/DEF:2000 RNK:4 OVU:2)

After the magician appears, Dennis says, "I end my turn. It's your turn now. Try to make it interesting."

"My turn!" Kaito draws a card and says, "When I control no monsters and my opponent has an Extra Deck Monster, I can Special Summon Cipher Twin Raptor from my hand. (ATK:1600/DEF:800 LV:4)"

A light-made raptor appears, and he says, "Furthermore, I Summon Cipher Wing. (ATK:1400/DEF:1200 LV:4) I release it to activate its effect, Twin Raptor gains four Levels. Twin Raptor counts as two Materials for an Xyz Summon. I overlay my Level 8 Twin Raptor! Galaxy shining in the darkness! Embody the demon god of revenge and become my very servant! Xyz Summon! Descend! Rank 8! Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon!" (ATK:3000/DEF:2500 RNK:8 OVU:1)

After the dragon appears, everyone is cheering for him. Dennis says, "Not bad. That "demon god of revenge" line was nice. You're playing the role of heel well. If you attack my Trapeze Magician with that dragon, you'll destroy it. But that would be a boring Entertainment Duel. You have to use more of that wow factor to surprise the people."

"Since you managed to take Ruri away before, I'll do the same to your monster right now!" Kaito says. "I detach one Overlay Unit from Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon to use its effect! Cipher Projection! Until the end Phase, Trapeze Magician's effect is negated and I gain control of it. And its name is now Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon!"

Trapeze Magician moves to Kaito's side of the field, and light surrounds it, taking the form of Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon. (ATK:2500-3000)

"WOW!" Dennis explains. "That's amazing. Even its appearance changed. But now you don't have a monster to attack...Huh? Wait, you're going to attack me?"

"Battle! I attack directly with the first Cipher Dragon!" Kaito yells. "Cipher Stream of Annihilation!"

"When my opponent's monster attacks me directly, from my hand I can Special Summon Entermage String Figure. (ATK:0/DEF:0 LV:1) He takes the battle!"

A clown appears on the field as Galaxy-Eyes' attack is redirected and the light stream explodes as fireworks in the sky, wowing the crowd.

"Behold! String Figure can't be destroyed by battle and all battle damage becomes 0!" Dennis says. "And now, I activate the Pendulum effect of the set Candy Craftsman. I gain 1000 LP."

The Pendulum monster showers Dennis with candy and transforms into life energy for Dennis. (Dennis:4000-5000)

Kaito grits his teeth and Dennis continues, "This effect can be activated at the end of an opponent's Battle Phase when my Entermage has less ATK than a monster you control. You saved me. If you just attacked Trapeze Magician, I would have been in trouble. And you made the spectators happy!"

"I set one card and end my turn." Kaito mutters while setting the card. "Right now, Cipher Dragon's effect ends and Trapeze Magician's control goes back to normal." (ATK:3000-2500)

"Welcome home, Trapeze Magician. Now here comes the real show." Dennis says while smiling nastily, "Why don't I show off my full power and put on a great show for my teacher and spectators?"

"My Turn! From my hand, I Summon Entermage Damage Juggler! (ATK:1500/DEF:1000/LV:4)" Dennis says. "Now String Figure's monster effect activates! This card can be used for a Fusion Summon without a Fusion Card."

"Fusion..." Vivian mutters.

"I fuse Damage Juggler and String Figure!" Dennis says as two Monsters go into the Fusion portal. "Acrobat that freely manipulates even the pain! Merge with the infinitely form-changing strings that connect people, and become a new witch that spurs the sky! Fusion Summon! Appear, Level 7! Entermage Trapeze Force Witch (ATK:2400/DEF:1800/LV:7)

After the monster appears, Dennis smiles, "Your partner finally appears, Trapeze Magician."

"So that is his real Fusion Monster..." Gongenzaka says.

"Kaito has to be careful. The combination of those two Monsters is dangerous." Yuzu says, remembering the duel with Dennis before.

"Now you can show off your true abilities! I detach one Overlay Unit from Trapeze Magician to use its monster effect! Now Trapeze Magician can attack twice this turn."

"I see. You're going to use its partner's effect to lower Cipher Dragon's ATK, then use the Trapeze Magician's attacks to finish me off." Kaito says. "That's your goal, right?"

"Bingo. As expected of Sakaki Yusho's student. If you could figure that out, you must have a counter-plan?" Dennis asks.

"I target Cipher Dragon and activate this Trap Card: Cipher Deterrent! Cipher Dragon can't be destroyed this turn, and if you attack it, its ATK doubles at the End Phase." Kaito says.

"What? That's an amazing trap!" Dennis gasps but calms down. "...is what I would say if I was surprised. But I expected something like this."

"What was that?" Kaito asks.

"You're a wanted man, Kaito. There are loads of data on you in the Academia database. I've seen data from your Duels. Everyone you've done so far is so predictable." Dennis says. "You've been dancing in my palm since we started."

"Dennis…when I first met and Dueled him it was fun. To think that he actually spied on us…" Ruri frowns, also remembering back in the Friendship Cup when he exposed himself.

"However, I feel that he is actually in a self-denial..." Yuzu says. "I fought him two times, and all the times he dueled...he was just putting up a strong heartless act while in reality he is conflicted."

"You mean like all of our friends from the Fusion Dimension?" Yuya asks.

"I detach Trapeze Magician's other Overlay Unit. Now Trapeze Force Witch can attack twice." Dennis says. "Now, watch this magnificent trapeze show! Please enjoy these two well-coordinated monsters dashing across the sky! First, Trapeze Magician attacks Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon!"

When Trapeze Magician charges at the dragon, Dennis says, "Now, Trapeze Force Witch's monster effect activates! When an Entermage attacks an opponent's monster, it loses 600 ATK! (ATK:3000-2400) Go! Trapeze Magician!" Trapeze Force Witch releases a burst of stars that reduce the ATK of "Galaxy-Eyes

Trapeze Magician connects with a square kick in the chin to Cipher Dragon, and Kaito says, "Becuase of Cipher Deterrent, Cipher Dragon can't be destroyed."

"But you'll still take damage." Dennis says. (Kaito:4000-3900)

"Well, it's just 100 damage, so you won't feel it. It's to be expected." Dennis says menacingly, "But I wouldn't be so sure from the second attack on...Go! Consecutive attack! Trapeze Magician!"

Trapeze Magician lets go of its staff to lock wrists with Trapeze Force Witch, launching another kick. (ATK:2400-1800)

"It lost another 600 damage because of Trapeze Force Witch's effect..." Asuka says.

"Even if it can't be destroyed, you still take damage. 700 damage now!" Dennis says. (Kaito:3900-3200) "But wait, there's more! It's Trapeze Witch's attack now. Naturally her effect activates and Cipher Dragon loses another 600 ATK!" (ATK:1800-1200)

"Trapeze Force Witch's ATK is 2400. If you do the match and subtract Cipher Dragon's 1200 ATK, it's simple. You'll take 1200 damage." Dennis says.

"Trapeze Force Witch kicks off Galaxy-Eyes and releases a burst of hearts that blast both it and Kaito backwards screaming. (Kaito:3200-2000)

"Kaito!" Rumi yells as the others are watching in shock.

"Kaito struggles to his feet and glares at Dennis in rage. Dennis says, "Good, good. Look at those rage filled eyes. I'm trembling."

Up above, Trapeze Force Witch backflips from grasping the wrists of Trapeze Magician and grabs her own staff. "But how long can you stare at me with those eyes?"

"Shut up! Your attack hasn't stopped! Come at me!" Kaito yells.

"I'll take you up on that. Do the final consecutive attack, Trapeze Force Witch!" Dennis says. "Attack Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon! Now Cipher Dragon's ATK is lowered by 600! (ATK:1200-600) Kaito! The damage you'll take is...1800!"

Trapeze Force Witch somersaults from her staff and kicks off it, causing an explosion of light to fling Kaito to the edge of the ship. (Kaito:2000-200)

"I end my turn." Dennis says and he and his monsters take a bow.

Kaito struggles up and says, "Because of Cipher Deterrent, Cipher Dragon's ATK is doubled during the End Phase. (ATK:600-1200) My turn!"

Just as he draws a card, he is surprised. It is Little Fairy, a farewell gift from Sayaka before heading to the Fusion Dimension. Kaito says, "This is Sayaka's...my comrade's will? Are they telling me to aim higher? I'm fighting with my comrade's wishes that they gave me!"

"Comrades..." Dennis mutters.

"I Summon Little Fairy!" (ATK:800/DEF:800 LV:3)

After the fairy appears, Ruri gasps, "That's Sayaka's card!"

"Little Fairy? Was that card in his data?" Dennis wonders.

"A predictable Duel based on data would be boring." Yuni says. "In your words, Entertainment has to surprise people. An unpredictable duel would be far more enjoyable."

Kaito nods and says, "Little Fairy's effect, by discarding one card to the graveyard, it can gain one Level. I send Cipher Etranger to the graveyard. When Cipher Etranger is sent to the graveyard, I can add one Rank-Up-Magic from my deck to my hand."

After drawing the card, he says, "I activate Rank-Up-Magic: Cipher Ascension! Using Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon as its target, I can Xyz Summon a Cipher Monster that is one rank higher! Rank Up Xyz Change! Galaxy shining in the darkness. Release the forever unchanging light and become the beacon that illuminates the future! Rank-Up Xyz Change! Descend, Rank 9! Neo Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon!" (ATK:4500/DEF:3000 RNK:9 OVU:2)

After the dragon appears, Yuya gasps, "So that is his Neo Galaxy-Eyes..."

"Amazing..." Mark says.

"An Xyz Monster summoned with Cipher Ascension gains 500 ATK." Kaito says. (ATK:4500-5000)

"5000 ATK!" "What a divine monster..." The crowd is also surprised.

"I detach all Overlay Units from Neo Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon to activate its monster effect! Cipher Super Projection! It negates all of your monster's effects and lets me control them. And they're all named Neo Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon!"

The Kaito takes all two Galaxy-Eyes to the field, and Dennis says, "That's just a bluff. The monsters you take can't attack directly. Meaning only two of your monsters can attack."

"Even if you attack me with your 5000 ATK Neo Galaxy-Eyes and 800 ATK Little Fairy, I can halve the damage with Bubble Gardna's Pendulum effect." Dennis says.

"So even if I attack, you'll still have some life left?" Kaito asks.

"Exactly." Dennis says.

"Is this what you think? From my hand, I activate the Continuous Magic: Cipher Interfere!" Kaito yells. "Neo Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon attacks directly! Because of Cipher Interfere. When I have two Cipher monsters with the same name on my field, the ATK of one of them is doubled!" (ATK:5000-10000)

"10000 ATK?" Dennis gasps.

"Go! Neo Galaxy-Eyes! Cipher Stream of Horror!" Kaito yells. Dennis is then defeated as he falls to the ground. (Dennis:5000-0)

The crowd watched in shocked silence, and Dennis can't even bring himself to say anything until Yusho begins clapping and the crowd joins in.

"Damn it. I lost to Xyz users not once, but twice..." Dennis mutters.

"What are you doing? It's rude if you don't respond to all this applause from your spectators." Yusho says while walking towards him.

Dennis closes his eyes with a smile, "Applause is only for those who win; a loser like me doesn't deserve it."

Sarah walks toward him and says, "Good grief... You didn't lose. These cheers are for Kaito and you, Dennis. You two made so many people smile."

Yusho offers his hand to Dennis, "It was an amazing show! You can come with us. You can make so many people smile. Academia can change."

Dennis's shoulders shake and he replies, "I can't do that."

Dennis does a somersault and then slowly walked backward. "I betrayed all of you. I can't be your comrades anymore."

"What are you talking about?" Yuya asks.

"Don't despair. I can tell you that the Professor has twenty main fractions that are waiting for you in Academia. Akaba Reisho might know about that." Dennis says, causing Reisho to widen his eyes.

"Now I can never go back to Academia. I've spoiled the Professor's deepest secret after all." Dennis says. "I'll pray for your success."

He turns to Yuya and Yuni while raising the Duel Disk at himself, "My time with the Lancers and the Clover Branch was truly fun."

"What are you..." Kaito yells.

But everyone gasps, as Dennis says, "An illusion! For my last act of entertainment, give me a round of applause as I turn myself into a card!"

"Don't do it!" "Dennis!" Everyone is yelling at him, but in vain, Dennis presses the button and now he is inside the card. The card floats to Yusho's hand, and he frowns.

"If he thinks he could just do this, then he is wrong." Yuni says, "Dad, give me his card."

Yusho nods as she puts his card on the ground, and then she uses the uncarding device to make Dennis back to normal. But being unconscious, Yuya and Shun decides to drag him to one of the beds inside the ship.

Sarah asks, "So Reisho, what does he mean about the 20 main fractions?"

Reisho says, "If everything is the same as before, then it will be easier to do this. We'll get back inside and I'll explain the plan."

And here is a new chapter, this is basically Dennis and Kaito's duel. Same as the anime, so I hope you like it. The next chapter is going to be the duel with Captain Solo.
