The Nabuians were very kind to Ahsoka and her friends. Caroline made sure the sailors were all healthy and well, Padme showed them the ways of their island, and she and some of the other islanders even helped them build a new boat to find Lei Reigna.

"Thank you so much, Queen Padme." Ahsoka said. "We really owe you for this."

"You're sure you don't want me to come along, Ahsoka?" said Anakin. "It's a dangerous path with Lavadera out there."

"We've already made it this far." said Ahsoka. "This is something I need to do myself. And your family needs you here."

"They have us." Fantasia said. "Now that all three sisters are together and we have Quinlan, we can restore Mother's heart and save the world before all the islands die."

Anakin hugged his old friend and said, "Be careful out there. From what I remember in the stories, Lavadera doesn't play nice."

"I'm not afraid of a lava monster." Ahsoka replied. "We are going to save the world. You just keep your kids safe and don't touch anything turning black."

And so, the group of sailors and demigods boarded their boat and headed on their way to Lei Reigna.

The sky turned dark and cloudy as the adventurers journeyed farther and farther away.

Fantasia's mane turned silver again as night fell. Dream Heart blew wind into the sail and tried to get rid of the clouds, but more came. Thankfully, Forsythia's connection with plants provided a bit of guidance so they could navigate across the ocean.

And then, Quinlan spotted something coming closer in the distance.

"Ahsoka Tano of Manta-Jedi..." said Quinlan. "I believe you have officially delivered Quinlan Vos and the daughters of Lei Reigna across the great sea."

"It's time." said Fantasia. "The heart."

Ahsoka took the heart out from the locket and gave it to Quinlan.

"Sisters?" Fantasia looked at her sisters.

The other two nodded and got ready to fly. Quinlan got his hook and psyched himself up.

"Go save the world." said Ahsoka.

"Try not to let your mom eat Quinlan once she has her heart back." Myra said.

The alicorns laughed.

"Don't worry, she won't eat him." Dream Heart said.

"Let's go now." Fantasia said.

The four gods declared themselves ready.

Quinlan raised his hook and transformed into a big brown hawk with Lei Reigna's heart in his talons, the three alicorns coming close behind. So far, so good.

But as they got closer and closer to the island, some big black clouds of ash and smoked grew around where the island should have been. And as the clouds grew bigger and darker, a big ball of fire shot out and almost hit Quinlan!

Another shot out and barely missed Dream Heart, who whinnied in fear.

The four gods began flying higher trying to avoid more fireballs or smoke. Unfortunately, that was not enough to escape what came next.

The three mortals gasped as they watched from the boat, and out from the smoke popped a huge monstrous alicorn made entirely of lava! Lavadera!

She fired more of her balls, and this time hit Quinlan, making him revert to human form.

"Quinlan!" the kids exclaimed.

Ahsoka and her friends quickly began sailing their boat toward the violent action to help. Luckily for Quinlan, Fantasia swooped in and caught him, allowing him to grab his hook and change back into a hawk. And Dream Heart swooped in and caught the heart with her teeth. But everywhere the alicorns or Quinlan flew, Lavadera just kept throwing more fireballs, leaving them with no choice but to flee.

But as the demigods flew back to the boat, Ahsoka noticed something.

When Lavadera dropped her hoof into the ocean, she whinnied in pain, and the wet hoof turned to solid rock until she turned it back to lava. And then, Ahsoka noticed something else: rocks with an opening big enough to sail through.

Ahsoka got to steering the boat in the direction of the rocks.

"What are you doing?" Quinlan asked.

"Finding you a better way in!" said Ahsoka.

Forsythia looked and saw Lavandera spotted them.

"We won't make it!" Forsythia panicked.

"Yes, we will!" Ahsoka insisted.

"Turn around!" Quinlan insisted. But Ahsoka was stubborn as ever.

"No!"

"Ahsoka stop!"

Quinlan looked up and saw Lavadera readying her horn, and he raised his hook to shield the others from her blast. The blast threw the boat onto a huge wave. Everyone screamed and held on tight. Thankfully, they stopped in a calm spot in the water.

Ahsoka looked at everyone and made sure they were okay.

She looked at Quinlan as he sat at the edge of the boat.

"Are you okay?" Ahsoka asked. "Quinlan?"

Quinlan turned around wordlessly, revealing his hook that was now sparking as it was damaged. He did not look happy.

"I told you to turn back." said the human demigod.

"I thought we could make it." said Ahsoka.

"We?" said Quinlan, actually looking at Ahsoka this time.

Ahsoka looked down guiltily.

"I thought I could make it." Ahsoka said. "We can fix it."

"It was made by the gods. You can't fix it!"

Myra looked at the alicorns.

"You're demi-horse-gods. Can't you fix it?"

The alicorns shook their heads.

"Our powers were made to create balance across the world with the things our mother gave to the islands. Light, air, and strength to grow." Fantasia said. "Hooks are not one of those things our magic affects."

"Next time we'll be more careful then." said Ahsoka. "Lavadera was stuck on the barrier islands. It's lava. It can't go underwater. We can find a way around."

"I'm not going back." said Quinlan.

"We still have to restore the heart." Zatt said.

"My hook is cracked." Quinlan said. "One more hit an it's over."

"Quinlan, you have to restore the heart." said Ahsoka.

"Get the horses to do it, it's their mother. Without my hook, I am nothing."

"That's not true!" said Fantasia.

"Without my hook, I am nothing!" Quinlan shouted in the alicorn's face. And he dropped the heart on the floorboard.

Ahsoka picked up the heart and looked at Quinlan again.

"We are only here because you stole the heart in the first place." She glared.

"No, we're here because the ocean told you you're special." said Quinlan. "And you believed it."

"I am Ahsoka Tano of Manta-Jedi. You will board my boat-"

"Goodbye, Ahsoka." said Quinlan.

"Sail across the sea..."

"I'm not killing myself so you can prove you're something you're not!"

Ahsoka held the heart up and shouted.

"And restore the heart of Lei Reigna! The ocean chose me!"

Ahsoka had tears of hurt and anger in her eyes.

"It chose wrong." Quinlan said. And he turned into a hawk and flew away.

"That's it... I'm gonna kill him!" Myra said, getting on Fantasia's back. "Hyah!"

Fantasia flew Myra after Quinlan.

"Myra!" Fiesta exclaimed, going after them.

Zatt climbed on Dream Heart and flew off after them too.

Forsythia looked at Ahsoka and lay down.

"I guess it's just you and me now." Forsythia said.

But Ahsoka didn't acknowledge the youngest alicorn. Instead, she looked down and then at a small sentient wave the ocean made.

"Why did you choose me?" she asked the ocean. She looked at the heart in her hand and held it out. "I'm not the right person."

The ocean stood as though hesitating.

"You have to choose someone else." said the Togruta, starting to cry. "Choose someone else. Please"

The ocean slowly took the heart from Ahsoka's hand and took it down below.

Ahsoka dropped down to her knees and cried Forsythia sadly nuzzled Ahsoka in an effort to comfort her. But it didn't do much.

Suddenly, Ahsoka spotted a magical blue light, and she looked up to see a dolphin jumping in and out of the water, heading toward her boat.

Ahsoka followed the dolphin for a bit as it made lots of blue sparkles appear around the boat.

"You are a long way past the reef." said a very familiar voice.

Ahsoka gasped and looked to the edge of the boat and saw someone she thought she'd never see again.

Qui-Gon Jinn. As a ghost.

"Chief Qui-Gon?" Ahsoka gasped.

"Guess I chose the right tattoo." smiled the spirit.

"Qui-Gon!" Ahsoka exclaimed.

She ran right to the ghost and received a big hug. Even as a spirit, Qui-Gon managed to give the warmest hug Ahsoka could ever hope to feel. She cried into the ghost's shoulder.

"I tried, Qui-Gon. I... I couldn't do it."

Qui-Gon gently lifted Ahsoka's chin, wiped her tears away, and told her it wasn't her fault.

"I never should have put so much on your shoulders. If you are ready to go home, I will be with you."

Ahsoka looked down and figured it was probably for the best to go home. She tried, and she failed. She felt ready to give up and go home.

Ahsoka picked up her paddle and tried to start rowing, but the paddle never touched the water. Ahsoka found herself... frozen.

"Why do you hesitate?" Qui-Gon asked.

"I don't know." Ahsoka confessed.

Qui-Gon then came closer to the Togruta princess.

Qui-Gon:

I know a girl from an island
She stands apart from the crowd
She loves the sea and her people
She makes her whole family proud

Sometimes the world seems against you
The journey may leave a scar
But scars can heal and reveal just
Where you are

Qui-Gon looked Ahsoka in the eyes with love and sincerity

The people you love will change you
The things you have learned will guide you
And nothing can ever silence
The quiet voice still inside you

And when that voice starts to whisper
"Ahsoka, you've come so far"
Ahsoka, listen
Do you know who you are?

Ahsoka:

Who am I?

Ahsoka thought, and she found what words she felt could describe her true self.

I'm a girl who loves my island
And the girl who loves the sea
It calls me

I am the daughter of a village chief
We are descended from voyagers
Who found their way across the world
They call me

Ahsoka could see the spirits of her ancestors smiling down at her as she started to realize her true self.

I've delivered us to where we are
I have journeyed farther
I am everything I've learned and more
Still, it calls me

And the call isn't out there at all, it's inside me
It's like the tide
Always falling and rising

Ahsoka looked at Qui-Gon with a big smile, and then she came to the edge of the boat and looked at the water with no fear at all.
I will carry you here in my heart, you'll remind me
That come what may
I know the way

I am Ahsoka

Ahsoka dove beneath the ocean waves all the way to the bottom, and she grabbed the heart of Lei Reigna and rose back to the surface.

Ahsoka looked up at the damaged sail on her ship and adopted another look of determination.

With Forythia's help, she mended the sail and the rest of the boat, and then told the young alicorn to go and find the others as she headed for Lei Reigna again. Forsythia thought she was crazy to go it alone, but Ahsoka wasn't scared.

"I am Ahsoka Tano of Manta-Jedi. Aboard my boat, I will cross the sea and restore the heart of Lei Reigna."

Ahsoka navigated by the stars and released her sail, sailing across the ocean, on her way to restore the heart herself.
