Dragon Ball: The Resurgence of The Saiyans
Author's Note: The cover image has a Vegeta in The Rain picture that belongs to whoever created it, along with its gif. The rest of images are from the respective anime series. Like in every fanfic I write, I own nothing, not even the locations or concepts, even if those are fanon. Hope you enjoy this.
This short story, in which Vegeta is the protagonist, takes place after the Granolah Saga and Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. This is the return of not only one, two, or three people. It's the return of Planet Vegeta, and also the return of all the Saiyans who died at the hands of Frieza, in the dark period known as the Genocide of the Saiyans. Just as Goku (49 years old) is married to Sailor Moon (48 years old) in this continuity, so is Vegeta (51 years old) to Sailor Mars (48 years old).
Chapter 1: Memories of the Past
Vegeta was sitting on the living room's sofa, relaxing after a long day of working as a dojo master, a job he only took to show Goku that he's also able to run a dojo, and a well-paid one by the way. He finally returned home, a nice house given to him and his family by Bulma. It had many rooms, among them a training chamber, a dining room, and two bedrooms among other things.
Vegeta: Hmm, this was one hard day with all sorts of things. Unruly students, crazy people who don't like my training style, students who did everything they were told to, even if they did NOT have to, annoyingly submissive ones, etc. But overall, it was fine, so to say. But nothing like a good dinner… (Trunks comes to him) Hey Trunks, I hope you're all fine. How was your training today?
Trunks: Dad! I'm glad you're here! I got very strong, and I also got very fast! Look at this! (Runs around the room at high speeds, higher than those he had before, then he starts flying until he goes out and comes back through a window in seconds) Impressive, isn't it? I had to eat a lot to achieve that!
Vegeta: (With a smirk) Excellent! Very well done! But now that you mention food… Dammit, I'm hungry now… I'll go get something to eat…
?: Vegeta, it's dinner time!
Vegeta: Rei, it's her! Nevermind, I'll just go to the dining room, Bulla must be there too. (Runs to the dining room and sees his wife Rei and his daughter Bulla) Hmm, pork chop and Yakiniku, or grilled meat, it's good that you know Trunks' favorite.
Sailor Mars: I know, he likes them a lot… (Smells some smoke, like something is burning, and realizes she left Vegeta's meal in the oven, so she quickly runs to take it out) Ah! It almost gets completely charred! Luckily, I took it out in time. Hon, here's your meal (giggle).
Vegeta: Don't worry, Rei, we Saiyans have been always known, in addition to being a fighting race, to eat anything, so this will do for tonight, (chuckles) and besides, I haven't seen ashes in years, so nothing will get lost. I'm even worse at cooking, heh heh!
Trunks: Mom, I can run and fly way faster now! Isn't that awesome? Besides, I can master some fire techniques like yours!
Sailor Mars: Excellent! However, there are no threats here, so let's just have our nice dinner, shall we? As for you, Vegeta, Come on! You're not bad at cooking, you just got used to cook on a campfire, but you're good at it!
Vegeta: Once again, I can't argue against that logic, I just did that at Planet Arlia, now restored by Dende's wish after I told him to do so. Anyways, let's eat!
Trunks: You're right, I'm gonna enjoy all this meat!
Bulla: (Eating her meal) Best meal ever, no questions asked!
Sailor Mars: I'm glad you liked it, Bulla. After all, I made it with so much love for all of you (giggle).
After dinning with his wife Rei Hino, better known as Sailor Mars, and his children Trunks and Bulla, he went to sleep with his wife as usual. But then, just before going to sleep, he felt like something was not quite well in him. It was a strange feeling, something such as him missing his father, the Great Saiyan King Vegeta the 3rd, or his planet, Planet Vegeta, where he was born and where he lived his earliest years, before having to invade other planets. For the first time, he didn't feel good without his natal planet existing, despite him enjoying his life on Earth. He then went to the living room, near a window, to ponder about that.
Vegeta: I feel like… Something's missing, something I'm very fond of… My planet, those of my own kind, my father… I can't seem to ever forget my heritage, my race or my past, an example of that would be all the times I talk a lot about them.
(Flashback)
A 5 years old Prince Vegeta can be seen inside a spaceship, alongside his father, King Vegeta the 3rd, supreme ruler of all Saiyans. Both of them are looking at the shooting stars passing by their planet.
King Vegeta: My son, one day, this planet will be all yours to rule. That fool Frieza will rule over none of us anymore, and when I die, you will rule over everything in the universe!
Vegeta: Father, I think Lord Frieza is plotting something against us. Whatever he is plotting, he won't succeed, for we Saiyans are the mightiest race ever!
King Vegeta: That's the spirit! No one can deny our glory and might! Just look at all the planets we conquered, there's nothing we are unable to do!
(End of flashback)
Vegeta: (Looking at the half moon, with a stern look) Father… If only you were here, to see how strong I've gotten, and all I did after I came here. My entire race would be proud, not just my father.
Sailor Mars: (Comes to the living room in her pajamas, tired) Vegeta-kun… (Yawns) I think it's already bedtime… Why don't you go to the bedroom so we can sleep together…?
Vegeta: Hmm, you're right, Rei. I must go to bed… (Goes to the bathroom to brush his teeth and then goes to sleep)
Vegeta went to bed, to sleep with his wife. From this night on, he began to have a series of dreams related to his Saiyan lineage, heritage, and above all, his past.
In Vegeta's dream, he was walking through a black void, from which a faint light suddenly appeared, a light that got stronger as Vegeta came closer and closer. When Vegeta entered in contact with the light, he appeared inside the palace of his father, King Vegeta. All of the Saiyans of all classes were surrounding both him and his father.
Vegeta: F-father? Why is everyone here? First of all, how did I get here if this planet was supposed to be destroyed by that bastard of Frieza?
King Vegeta: Son, we are all proud of you. You even attained power like that of a God of Destruction. We couldn't be prouder of you, congratulations. You're here because for some reason, we returned to life, and our planet came back intact. Kakarot may have defeated Frieza, but he would have never been humiliated if it wasn't for you.
Saiyan Soldiers: Hail Prince Vegeta! Hail Prince Vegeta!
Vegeta: Thanks a lot, this is all due to the power of our race, my pride, heritage, and overall… My bloodline!
King Vegeta: That's my son! Tarble should learn from people like you.
Vegeta: I met him years ago, he has improved as a fighter, but hasn't reached the first stage of Super Saiyan yet, at least, from what I know. He may have even reached Super Saiyan 2 or 3 as we are speaking.
King Vegeta: You mean to tell me there are more transformations beyond Super Saiyan?!
Vegeta: Yes, and for demonstration, here are some examples! Father, you will love this… Aaaaaaaaaaaarrgghhhhhh! (Raises his ki and transforms into a Super Saiyan) This, as you may know, is the Super Saiyan of Legend, but this… (Transforms into SSJ2 and then, SSJ God) These two forms you just saw, are called Super Saiyan 2, and this one is Super Saiyan God. I can't access Super Saiyan 3 yet, however I'm very close, and besides, that form consumes energy when not mastered.
King Vegeta: The Super Saiyan God?! I heard about that legend too, when I interacted with Lord Beerus! Do you have more forms? Show us!
Vegeta: And this isn't even the limit! (Transforms into SSJ Blue, then he transforms into SSJ Blue Evolution) These, father, are evolved forms of the Super Saiyan God transformation. The first one is the Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan form, better known as Super Saiyan Blue, and this is what is known as… Super Saiyan Blue Evolution! (He then transforms into Ultra Ego, SSJ4, SSJ5, SSJ6 and then goes all the way down to SSJ10, shocking everyone) Those forms you all saw, began with the Ultra Ego, then I reached levels beyond Super Saiyan 2 and 3, but on a different path, I went from SSJ4 to SSJ9, and now… This last form, is known as Super Saiyan 10 (Goes back to his base form).
Saiyan Soldiers: Sir, all we can say is… We're all overwhelmed with so much power, it's a power that can't be described in mere words…
King Vegeta: I think the same, congratulations son. Now, nothing, not even Frieza will be trouble anymore. Also, I heard you have a family on Planet Earth, this is good because the Saiyan race will be expanded through the whole universe, and also because you will finally have the life you didn't have with that bastard of Frieza.
Vegeta: How did you know about my family with Rei? Did one of the soldiers tell you?
King Vegeta: It's as you said, son. One of my best soldiers went to Earth looking for you, and saw you with your wife and your two children, you truly have evolved as a warrior, as a champion, and overall, as a person, and that pleases me.
Saiyan Soldiers: Our race will be exalted, empowered and remembered forever! And this is all thanks to Your Majesty, the King, and to you.
King Vegeta: Now, it's time to go. You have a family on Earth to take care of. Farewell, my son. (Along with the other Saiyans, he begins to disappear in a beam of light)
Vegeta: Father! No! I don't want to lose you for a second time! Don't… (He sees that the place is fading to black as the last remaining Saiyans besides him disappear in a beam of light)
The only Saiyan that remained in the place was him, but the place faded out, until Vegeta was in the same black void in which he was at the beginning. He then walked, until he remembered the place in which the light was, but when he teleported there, there was nothing. Then, the transparent floor in which Vegeta was standing broke and was atomized until nothing remained. The Prince of All Saiyans was left floating in the void, all by himself. That is when the next morning, he woke up, confused and somewhat saddened. Rei noticed that, and worried, she asked him what was wrong.
Sailor Mars: Vegeta-kun, what's wrong? I saw you and you were acting… In an unusual way…
Vegeta: Nothing, Rei, nothing. I probably didn't sleep well, that would be why I look so weird…
Sailor Mars: It's probable, I felt as if you were an ice-cold, hardened body, rather than the warm, soft man I sleep with.
Vegeta: I'll try to remember what happened.
Something wasn't quite right with Vegeta, he was confused, yet saddened about something Rei knew about, but wasn't completely introduced in. It was Vegeta's new greatest wish, the revival of his people, the Saiyans, along with their planet. Will he succeed? Will there be threats that want to spoil his wish? Hello everyone! It's me, the creator of Dragon Ball: Son Goku, The Fight Against the Ultimate Evil, this time, with a prequel that will explain why characters like Bardock, Gine and King Vegeta are present in the story, there will also be other prequels that will explain why characters such as Naruto, Seiya, Luffy, the Sailor Scouts and Grandpa Gohan are present too. Before I leave, Trunks and Bulla keep their official hair colors in this continuity because of Vegeta's SSJ God and Blue forms, along with Rei's purple hair for Trunks, Vegeta's SSJ Blue and Green transformations for Bulla, along with his SSJ Blue Evolution form and his surprisingly Mastered Ultra Instinct from Whis' training for both of them. As you can see, for my fanfics, I mix official and fanon concepts and things. Also, Vegeta asked Dende to restore Planet Arlia because this is a Vegeta who is trying his best to atone for his sins of the past, and in a future chapter, he'll do something incredible regarding it.
