Chapter Two
~.~
The next day, we pile into AJ's minivan and head to Barnes & Noble.
Hand-in-hand, Sunset and I browse the aisles of Barnes & Noble. The eight of us manage to find five books each.
We soon head home and we each start reading a book we had bought. It's a quiet morning, and soon, I start helping make a late breakfast. We're having a full spread: scrambled eggs, turkey bacon, pancakes, toast, and various fruits (except for mangoes, which I'm possibly allergic to, but I'd rather not test that theory).
After breakfast has been prepared, we all sit down at our new dining room table (built for eight with eight chairs around it), and we start eating, me eating slower than usual, because of my nervous eating habit. I eventually finish my food, long after the others have finished theirs, but I can tell they don't mind waiting for me.
After we've all finished eating, I head upstairs to start unpacking my things with Sunset.
I'm brought back to when I put my things away at my ex's house in our room. I shake my head out of another one of my flashbacks.
Sunset knows to not sneak up on me, so I put my back to the closet as I unpack so I can see her come into our room. Once she enters our room, Sunset helps me unpack my stuff and, after my stuff is unpacked, I help her unpack her stuff.
"I think I'll organize the library. Care to keep me company, Sunset?"
"Sure. How will you organize it?"
"Well, first by genre, then by author's last name."
"You're such a nerd." Sunset tells me, flirting.
"Oh, really?" I ask, flirting back.
Sunset comes up to me and we have our first kiss with each other. To me, Sunset tastes like fall leaves, honey, and apples. Later, Sunset would tell me I taste like spring blossoms, honey, and strawberries.
Sunset and I head downstairs to our home library, and I begin organizing the hundreds (literally) of books into piles by genre (fantasy, young adult, contemporary, new adult, mystery, thriller, horror, etc.), then by author's last name.
While taking a break from organizing the books, I surprise my friends with a signed copy each of my two books that are out, and I plan on buying them each a copy of the books that will be out before Christmas. It'll kinda hurt my bank account, but it'll be worth it...besides, despite me self-publishing my books, I do make a commission with each sale, even if that sale is from me!
It takes about five hours (with a few breaks for food and bathroom trips), but, eventually, the library is organized.
It was fun, considering I had put on some music to organize by. The music was my Broadway playlist, consisting of the original Broadway cast recordings of Hamilton, Frozen, The Prom, Waitress, Wicked and Six. I hadn't quite finished listening to the playlist, but that's okay.

A month later, Sunset and I have the house to ourselves while the other girls are out for a walk with Spike. For some reason, she's made me dress up in my light brown sweater dress, leggings and black boots, and she's wearing a pinkish-purplish dress with long sleeves, and she's also wearing leggings and Mary Jane shoes.
Our song, "She Keeps Me Warm", is playing, and it reminds me of when I tried making English pancakes before proposing to Sunset.
Right now, Sunset tells me to close my eyes.
"Keep 'em closed, okay, my lovebug?"
"I'm trusting you, Sunset." I tell her before closing my eyes.
I hear Sunset shuffling around and, soon, the room goes dark.
"Almost ten years ago, you welcomed me into your mind, and then into your heart. On January 7, 2016, you proposed to me after making English pancakes and Starbucks' hot chocolate. Our song was playing. It was a beautiful and memorable proposal. Now, my lovebug, it's my turn to repay you for the love you've given me over the years. You can open up your eyes now."
I open my eyes and see the living room is decorated with balloons and streamers. It's then I look down and see Sunset kneeling in front of me.
"Rebekah Nielsen, I love you with my whole entire heart and soul. I will always love you, and I want to legally call you my wife. Will you marry me?"
My hands fly to my mouth and I nod, tears welling in my eyes.
"Yes! Yes, Sunset, I will marry you!"
Sunset places the ring she had designed and bought on my finger.
"Do you like it?"
"Do I like it? Sunset, I love it! And I love you!"
"I love you, too!"
Sunset and I kiss as we see our friends appear from behind the doors of the library, Twilight having been recording the entire thing on her phone.
"Aww, you two are so adorable! And, Becky, although it would be an honor to design your wedding dress, Sunset mentioned you want that experience of trying on dresses." Rarity says.
"Thank you so much, Rarity."
"You're quite welcome."
That afternoon, Sunset and I are on the couch, and I'm admiring my ring.
"I'm so happy you said yes, Becky."
"I am, too. And I've been thinking. Would March 8 be too soon for us to tie the knot?"
"I don't believe so. We'd have to kinda scramble, considering that's..." Sunset pauses, counting the remaining months until March on her fingers.
"Six months away. We'd have to go start shopping for our wedding dresses as soon as possible, my darling."
"Is that okay?"
"Baby, of course it's okay. We can go tomorrow, if we can book an appointment. Is that okay?"
"Don't you have work?"
"Tomorrow's Friday, and Fridays are my days off."
"Right. And the rest of the girls?"
"They all have the day off, too. Have you thought about who you want as your maid of honor and bridesmaids?"
"I have, actually."
"Do you want to do a quick round of bridesmaids and maids of honor proposals? Or do you just want to ask them without gifts?"
"It would be nice to get them gifts."
"What are we waiting for? To Target we go!"
Sunset and I sneak off to Target while the girls are in the backyard, talking amongst themselves.
We browse the aisles of Target, trying to figure out where to go on the new map. Sunset and I look for boxes for the maid of honor and bridesmaid proposal boxes, along with mugs, and silk robes. We decide, to keep with the gay theme of our wedding (which will be gay throughout, considering Sunset and I are both sapphic asexuals), to buy rainbow boxes, along with mugs with the girls' initials on them, satin robes, and their favorite candy bar, and packing crinkle paper and cards, asking our respective bridal parties to be a part of our wedding. We also bought a special collar for Spike so he can be the ring bearer.
We check out, and head home after putting together the boxes in Sunset's backseat.
I find a Sharpie in the glove compartment, and, once we're in the driveway, I carefully write the girls' names on the tops of the boxes, and we head inside, three boxes each.
"Whatever were you two doing this afternoon?" Rarity asks.
"We have surprises for you girls...and Spike." Sunset says, placing down the boxes on the coffee table. I follow her lead, putting my boxes next to hers.
"Oooh, what is it?" Pinkie Pie asks excitedly.
I hand a box to my maid of honor – Fluttershy, and Sunset hands Twilight her maid of honor box. After our maids of honor have gotten their boxes, I hand Applejack and Rarity their bridesmaid boxes, while Sunset hands Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash theirs.
The group tears open the boxes, and they all gasp as they read the cards.
"Becky, you really want me to be your maid of honor? But I'm no good at speechmaking."
"It would be nice if you made a speech, Fluttershy, but I won't force you to do anything that's outside of your comfort zone."
"If I can help defeat the evils from Equestria, surely I can write a speech and help you and Sunset plan your wedding."
"That means more to me than you know, Fluttershy. Speaking of planning our wedding...My sunshine, have you made appointments for us at the bridal shop?"
"I did it while you were looking at the mugs. Our appointments are at the same time tomorrow, 10AM, at separate ends of the bridal shop."
"Nice. Thank you, Sunset."
"You're welcome."
AJ and Rarity agree to be my bridesmaids, while Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash agree to be Sunset's.
Spike tries on his new collar as our ring bearer, and it's a perfect fit.
That evening, the girls toast to Sunset's and my engagement with fizzy apple cider, compliments of Applejack's family farm.
We all head to bed, happy and full of love.
The next morning, I dress in a simple outfit: jeans and a white top with a jacket, and Sunset dresses similarly. We all pile in AJ's minivan and head to the local bridal shop for our separate appointments.
