A/N: I got inspiration for this quick one shot after watching Deku vs Kacchan Part 2 episode in season 3.

Inko Midoriya had rushed to the UA dorms after her son's frantic call. Upon opening the door to his room, she knew something was wrong.

"Mom! Thank goodness you're here."

Then Izuku started coughing violently, a hand clutching his chest as he was doubled over. The coughing had finally ceased and a pile of black petals with splashes orange and blood was at his feet.

Inko had called All Might immediately.

"All Might please, it's Izuku." Inko was frantic.

"Did something happen to Young Midoriya?" All Might remained calm, though the mere mention of this had him anything but.

Inko had explained the situation and All Might had advised her to take Izuku to the hospital and he would meet them there. He didn't want to alarm the other students and make them worry.

Inko had followed All Might's instructions and he had met her at the hospital with Izuku.

After a physical and a few tests, the doctor had informed the trio what Izuku's diagnoses was.

Izuku Midoriya has Hanahaki disease.

Inko and Izuku had wept. They were both hysterical.

It had been All Might who had comforted mother and son and asked the appropriate and necessary questions to the doctor.

Thanks to the advancement in medicine and technology, Hanahaki wasn't so much as a death sentence as it was before if the person didn't reciprocate the affected person's feelings.

"There isn't a cure all, but we're working on medicine to slow down the effects. There are teams both here and in the United States conducting research and running clinical trials. Surgery is also an option to deal with this, but that's a last ditch effort and it will take away all emotions. I personally don't recommend it, but ultimately it's up to the patient. This is only a theory, but if the affected person is surrounded by people who love him, not necessarily in love with him, it also slows down the effects."

All Might and Izuku exchanged glances, class 1A fit the bill. Everyone except one person.

The doctor continued.

"Remember this is just a theory, but my advice would be to stay away from the person that's the root of this. Do not engage them whatsoever. I imagine the condition getting worse being around said person."

Again, All Might and Izuku exchanged glances.

"I want to be part of these trials and I'll take whatever medicine. I just don't want the surgery. I like having emotions and I couldn't imagine not having them anymore." Izuku spoke up.

"Izuku." Inko had hiccupped her son's name.

"I can put you on the list, however you'd be required to visit facilities in Los Angeles. All expenses paid of course. If you need time to think about this."

"I'll do it." Izuku said with finality.

The weekend had come and gone and after confirming with All Might that he could still be a hero and continue his tenure at UA, Izuku had stopped worrying.

The only two people who would ever know of his condition besides the doctor who had diagnosed him, would be his mother Inko Midoriya and All Might.

Izuku knew what he had to do.

All eyes had been on him the minute he walked into class that Monday.

"Deku, are you all right? I saw your mom come to the dorms and." Ochako had started.

"Hi Uraraka. Sorry if I made you worry, but I'm fine now." Izuku had smiled and they shared a fist bump.

Others in the class had the same sentiment and Izuku just smiled, basking in the affection. Maybe he would be okay after all. He was on medicine now and he did indeed feel better.

Rough hands had pushed him aside causing him to stumble.

"Out of my way, nerd."

About to say something, Izuku had remembered the doctor's advice.

Do not engage.

So Izuku Midoriya did something he had never done before. He proceeded to ignore Katsuki Bakugo.

He simply took his seat, much to the surprise of the class.

Including Bakugo himself.

The bell had rung and class had begun.

As the days became weeks and the weeks became months, it was getting easier and easier not to interact with Bakugo.

Deku had always been surrounded by his friends and fellow classmates and true enough he hadn't had a coughing fit.

Sure he'd cough up a petal here and there in secret, but he never ended up with a pile again.

Bakugo on the other hand, was getting angrier and angrier. He had purposefully done things to provoke Deku, to get a reaction out of the other boy.

Deku had simply brushed off all incidents and would always run off to find their classmates.

On one such day, Bakugo simply had enough. He was going to get to the bottom of this.

Not that he cared, he kept telling himself.

Deku was in the locker room lacing up his shoes getting ready to meet his friends and go to lunch.

Bakugo had slammed the locker door with so much force it had made Deku jump.

"Deku, you're avoiding me. Why?" Bakugo spat.

Deku looked up at Bakugo with blank emotionless eyes.

He had been good with his treatment, he wasn't going to throw it all away now and start from square one.

"Kacchan, I'm not avoiding you." He said in a monotone voice.

Even his voice was flat.

Bakugo blanched as if he had been struck.

Those hollow eyes, that eerie voice.

Gone was the bright shiny eyes that used to look at him as if he were the sun and moon himself.

Gone was the voice that always conveyed his emotions.

It wasn't right. It just wasn't right.

Deku was always cheerful and lively with everyone else. But with him, he was the complete opposite.

Something was wrong. Very wrong.

So caught up in his own head, Bakugo hadn't realized Deku had grabbed his things and had left him there, alone.

It had been like this the rest of their time at UA and at their work study.

And it had been eating away at Bakugo the entire time.

Graduation day was here, the young heroes were about to begin their new lives.

After the ceremony, tearful exchanges, hugs, promises to see one another and hang out again were shared among the classmates.

Bakugo had hung back, he didn't care about any of that. He didn't care if he ever saw any of the extras again.

He found himself glaring when Deku and Kirishima had embraced.

"Thank you for helping me improve my unbreakable Midoriya. It was so manly."

The two laughed.

"I should be thanking you for helping me to become even more manly!" Deku exclaimed.

They laughed again and this time Deku heard what he could have sworn was a growl. But paid it no attention.

The graduates had started clearing out one by one.

Deku spotted Bakugo and simply waived at him before heading out with the rest of their friends.

This pissed Bakugo off to no end. He found himself marching right up to Deku and grabbed his arm in a crushing grip.

Deku simply turned his blank eyes to Bakugo, not caring that his arm was being squeezed.

"Yes, Kacchan." His voice was back to the monotone voice he had always used to speak to Bakugo.

Even though it had been full of life and energy less than five minutes ago.

"You little shit head. Tell me why." Bakugo growled out.

Deku simply started prying the hand from his arm.

"Goodbye Katsuki."

Deku had used One For All to break free and continue on his way. Not even sparing a glance back.

If he had, he would have caught the other man's distraught expression.

Katsuki.

Even though that is his name, Deku had never called him that. Ever.

Bakugo couldn't bring himself to move.

After what seemed like an eternity, Mitsuki Bakugo had found her son and slapped the back of his head.

He didn't even react to that either.

"Katsuki! There you are, you brat. We're leaving. Get in the goddamn car!"

Coming out of his reverie, he followed his mother without saying a word.

Ten years had passed.

At the Red Dynamite hero agency, 28 year olds Eijiro Kirishima and Katsuki Bakugo were having it out, again.

"Dude you're so annoying. Do something about this funk you're in." Kirishima yelled at Bakugo for the umpteenth time as he had over the years.

"Shut the hell up and stay out of it, shitty hair." Bakugo snapped.

"Says the one with the worse than normal shitty attitude." Kirishima fired back rolling his eyes.

"Look, I don't know what happened between you and Midoriya all those years ago, but you need to figure it the hell out."

What indeed had happened between them?

Deku gave him the cold shoulder while at UA and it drove Bakugo up the wall.

Bakugo couldn't say anything to that. Instead he grabbed a coat and headed out.

"Yeah, I got this. I'll lock up for the night!" Kirishima called out.

Bakugo knew where he wanted to go. His mind was clear as day.

Inko had just gotten back from getting her mail. She set it down on the counter when the doorbell sounded. She opened the door.

"Katsuki. This is a surprise."

"Hi Auntie."

Inko looked over the young man and beckoned him inside.

Bakugo had closed the door and removed his shoes.

Inko had grabbed the mail and a postcard had fallen to the ground. About to pick it up, Bakugo had already beaten her to the punch.

Bakugo just stared at the postcard for so long, unblinking.

Deku had looked so lively, and so full of energy. He had grown into his body and he was beyond handsome. He was flexing his biceps and the female beside him was beautiful. She was pointing at the camera and had a big smile on her face.

Bakugo seemed to be in a trance while looking at the picture. Inko gently took the postcard from him.

"Katsuki, would you like some tea?"

He turned to her.

"Who was that?" Was all Bakugo could say.

Inko looked at the picture and back to Katsuki.

"Oh that's Angela. She and Izuku do everything together."

She flipped over the picture.

"He writes to me all the time. And sends postcards. The sights in the United States really are breath taking. It's like I'm living vicariously through him."

"Deku is in the United States now?" Bakugo asked, confusion was in his voice and all over his face.

"Yes he relocated there after graduation. I guess the United States just grew on him after all the time he spent traveling to Los Angeles while attending UA."

"He went to Los Angeles multiple times while we were at UA? Why?"

Inko looked everywhere but at him.

"It's not my place to say why. You're friends, maybe you should ask him yourself."

"We're not friends." Bakugo said quietly.

He couldn't even describe what they were, if anything at all.

Inko found that hard to believe especially when they were younger.

Izuku was always going on about Kacchan this and Kacchan that.

Then it hit her like a bucket of cold water being thrown on her. Katsuki Bakugo was the root of her sons Hanahaki disease.

Inko dropped to her knees in almost a dizzying haze, tears in her eyes. Strong arms caught her before the rest of her hit the floor.

"Auntie!"

Bakugo had settled her on the couch.

He had felt guilty, but he took a picture of the postcard and let himself out of the apartment, locking the door.

Los Angeles, United States

The doorbell rang startling the two roommates.

"Don't worry I got it!" The young woman went to answer the door.

A tall man with blond hair and crimson eyes stared at her with such intensity in his eyes. She looked up at him.

"Um yes, can I help you?"

"Is Deku here?"

The woman just stared at him, not wavering.

"And you are?" She asked defensively.

Deku had gotten up from the couch. If it was just a sales person or something, Angela should have been back by now.

"AJ I just came to check on you. Kacchan?"

The rest of his words died in his throat.

There stood Katsuki Bakugo. And he looked absolutely furious.

Angela turned back a bit.

"Deku, do you know this lunatic?"

Large hands had roughly moved her aside. What the hell?

People can't just bulldoze their way into someone's residence.

About to give the rude man a piece of her mind, a gentle hand rested on her shoulder halting her.

She looked up into the smiling eyes of Deku. He must have known she was about to go off.

"It's okay AJ, and yes I know him."

Bakugo took that as a sign. He closed the door and followed after the duo.

Angela sat across from Bakugo shooting daggers at him with her eyes.

Knowing Bakugo was not above being a bully, Deku turned to Angela giving her pleading eyes. She seemed to take the hint and left them alone.

"Kacchan? How?" Deku started.

"Who is she?" Bakugo demanded.

"I don't see how who she is, is any of your concern. However, her name is Angela Jeffrey. Or AJ for short."

Bakugo narrowed his eyes. He was already pissed that he had to come to another fucking country across the world to find Deku.

"This was your plan all along, wasn't it? Ignore me till it made me fucking crazy, then disappear out of my life completely. Then make a fool out of me by making me chase you to another fucking country. Ironic since you were the one always chasing me." Bakugo yelled at the other man.

This made Deku mad.

"What are you talking about? You always told me to get lost and leave you alone, so I did. I left you alone and you're what? Mad at me for leaving you alone? You don't make any sense Katsuki. Why are you even here?" Deku shouted back.

And against his better judgment, he did the one thing the doctor told him not to do all those years ago. He was engaging with the person who was the root of his disease.

And he was paying for it now.

Deku started coughing violently. Till he coughed out black petals with splashes orange and blood.

Bakugo's eyes widened.

AJ had heard the coughing and rushed to Deku's side, holding onto him. She looked up at Bakugo with nothing but scorn in her eyes.

"Leave or I'll call the police."

"I'm not going anywhere. What the hell is all of this Deku? You owe me an explanation."

"It hurts." Deku said barely above a whisper. He had a pained expression on his face and a hand was clutching his chest.

"I don't know who you are, but can't you see that you are hurting him."

"Shut it, you."

Then Deku passed out right then and there. The pain had been too much.

Bakugo had picked up Deku and carried him to the car and AJ drove them to the hospital she and Deku worked at.

After getting checked in and a room, Deku started coming to. A doctor had just left.

"Deku, Deku. Wake up."

Soft, gentle hands had been touching his face.

He knew that voice. AJ. She had never left his side.

It's one of the many reasons why he loved her.

"Thanks AJ, but how did you?"

"Don't worry about that now. How are you feeling?"

"I feel better now. Thank you."

Deku could feel another presence in the room.

"I'll be right outside. I think you two need to talk and be open about everything. The doctor just gave you a blocker so I think you'll be fine for a few hours."

As much as he didn't want to be near Katsuki Bakugo, AJ had been right. They did need to talk.

AJ took her leave without another word.

Bakugo had pulled up a chair right next to the bed Deku was laying in.

Deku had a weary look on his face. But started to speak.

"Kacchan, I."

"Start from the beginning Deku, and don't you dare lie to me."

With a sigh, Deku began.

"I have Hanahaki disease Kacchan. And I've had it for years. It manifested during our first year at UA. After hearing the treatment options, I participated in studies and took medicine to alleviate it, occasionally having to come here for more tests and studies. I hid it from everyone except my mom and All Might and did what I had to do, to not die of a broken heart."

"You should have told me you damn nerd."

"You don't get it. If I had whole heartedly engaged with you, I probably wouldn't have lived. I didn't want the surgery and I didn't want to die. I had to distant myself from you, so I could continue living."

"I would have helped you, you idiot."

A small laugh escaped Deku.

"Helped me? Helped me? You were never going to return my feelings. So no, I don't believe you would have helped me or even could have for the matter."

Katsuki Bakugo was at a loss for words, so Deku continued.

"In between suffering from this disease and being a hero, I'm a physician in this field. I wanted to find a cure for it so I can move on with my life and so no one has to suffer from it again. I've worked hard for where I am in life now and I'm not going to let you take it all away from me. I don't know how you found me, but I think it's time for you to leave now." Deku finished looking out the window.

Bakugo looked like he was going to blow a gasket. He reached out, taking hold of Deku's arm.

"I didn't come here to be dismissed like I'm some fucking child, Deku."

Tears started to pool in Deku's eyes. It shouldn't matter this much, but it did. Why did Katsuki Bakugo still have this much power over him?

They hadn't had any contact for years and were separated by an ocean and yet, Bakugo still had power over him.

Deku had still been in love with him and as much as he tried to suppress and ignore that fact, his feelings for Katsuki Bakugo had never left him.

A few tears escaped him followed by a series of coughs.

"Kacchan, what is it that you want from me? Why are you even here?" Deku squawked.

Bakugo just looked at him. His mind was going at a million miles per hour. The events of their lives playing in his head over and over on loop.

He had been an absolute asshole to Deku for years because he didn't know what to do with his feelings. He had been jealous, insecure and above everything else, he found himself caring about Deku.

And when Deku started ignoring him and was distant, he didn't know how to handle it, so he did what was familiar to him and repeatedly lashed out.

Even when he was at his worst, Deku would always come back. Deku had been the one constant person in his life.

It hurt that Deku had left him and wasn't coming back.

The fact that Deku was completely unreachable made Bakugo come undone in his personal life.

He was professional in his hero work, but was an absolute mess in his personal life.

Shitty hair had been right. He needed to get it together.

He needed Deku back in his life.

He needed Deku looking at him and talking to him again if he was the very sun and moon himself.

And he needed Deku's love.

This was what had been missing all this time and why he was a mess.

"I'm here because I want you, Deku." Bakugo finally answered the question.

"Kacchan, I don't understand what you mean." His brows furrowed.

"Use your head, you idiot. I'm here because I'm a fucking wreck without you."

Deku was too shocked to say anything else.

He had embraced his feelings for Katsuki Bakugo and had developed Hanahaki because of it.

Deku had a haunch why Bakugo didn't have it.

One he didn't embrace his feelings when they were younger, and two because he knew the person he loved, was already in love with him.

He was hopeful, but didn't dare show it.

"I'll say it again, but you should have told me and I would have helped you."

"How could you have helped me, Kacchan?"

" I would have returned your feelings." Bakugo said quietly.

"WHAT?!" Deku shouted.

Looks like one of the side effects from the blockers was hearing loss, Deku decided.

"You're such an idiot, you damn nerd! Do I need to spell it out for you? Had you come to me, I would have embraced my own feelings for you. But like an idiot, you chose to suffer alone."

"Oh sure like I could just come to you, the person who hates me and confess my feelings for you." Deku was exasperated.

"You're doing it now." Bakugo pointed out.

"Because somehow you found me all the way over here and I guess I owe you that much at least."

"Why do you feel like you owe me? A minute ago you told me to leave."

The tears started up again. Dammit.

Deku tore his arm from Bakugo and lifted both hands up to his face as he sobbed.

"Because I've been in love with you Katsuki Bakugo for more than half my life. It was easier being the target of your rage more than anything else because it meant I could still be in your life. But that was killing me. Literally. So I had to do one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. I had to cut you out of my life because I wanted to continue living. And that's the truth."

And that humbled Katsuki Bakugo.

Bakugo had pulled Deku to him in a crushing embrace.

"It took me long enough to figure it out, but I'm in love with you too you damn nerd."

Deku was on guard and didn't really believe that. How could he? He wasn't that naïve kid anymore. The real world had shown him otherwise.

"Why were you so mean to me then?"

"Because I'm an asshole. Instead of being soft and giddy with love like you are, Deku. I became mean, aggressive and lashed out on several occasions. But I'm done with this back and forth. We've wasted enough time. No more questions. You belong to me. End of story."

It wasn't going to be that easy. It couldn't be.

Deku had built a life for himself here in the United States, he wasn't going to throw it all away at Katsuki's confession.

Deku pulled out of Bakugo's embrace.

It was overwhelming.

It had been all he wanted for years and now that he had it, he was lost.

He needed AJ.

He needed something that made sense.

Deku got off the bed, shooting Bakugo an unreadable look.

Bakugo had just laid his soul out to Deku, just to be rejected by him?!

"Deku, what the hell?!" Bakugo asked with his hands clenched into fists.

"Kacchan, please. I need time to."

Bakugo interrupted him.

"What part of we've wasted enough time don't you understand, you damn nerd?"

"You don't get to walk back into my life after all this time and demand I drop everything at the drop of a dime!" Deku shouted.

AJ entered the room again. She narrowed her eyes at Bakugo, having heard everything.

She embraced Deku, never once taking her eyes off of the other man.

Deku, tired of the whole ordeal had broken the embrace. He captured AJ's hand and led her out of the room.

"AJ, I have a theory about Hanahaki that might interest our colleagues. We need to go now."

Bakugo had watched them leave.

This was not how things were supposed to go.

And if Deku thought this was the last he'd see of him, he was wrong. Big time.

Bakugo pulled out his phone and made a call to Kirishima.

"Bakugo! What's up man?" Kirishima asked.

"Find Cheeks and Icy Hot. Then come to Los Angeles."

"Um, that's going to take me a minute. Also I'm not sure they can just leave their agencies."

"It's about Deku. They will find a way to break away."

Becoming serious, Kirishima changed his tone.

"Did something happen to Midoriya?"

So Bakugo told him everything.

After hanging up with Kirishima, Bakugo called his mother.

"Oh finally the damn brat finally calls his mother." Mitsuki answered the phone.

"Shut it." Bakugo growled out.

"You shut it. Katsuki, you're the one that called me!"

A shouting match was about to begin and Bakugo wasn't in the mood for that.

"Look, you and Auntie need to come to Los Angeles."

"Why do Inko and I need to go to Los Angeles? Is that where you're at now?"

"I found Deku."

"Ah I see. Took you long enough you brat. I've been telling you for years, but your stupid pride got in the way."

Bakugo wasn't in the mood to be lectured either.

"Look, woman. Just come with Auntie."

He ended the call with his mother and just stared out the window for a bit.

He left the hospital with a new found sense of determination.

A few days had passed.

"Deku, is it really okay for him to be following us like this when we go to work?" AJ had turned to Deku.

"It's probably not, but I've told our colleagues about the situation and they want to conduct some experiments to test my theory."

"And he's okay with that? He looks like he's a ticking time bomb ready to explode at any time. And I feel like he doesn't like me very much."

"Kacchan is just very possessive. He sees you as a threat." Deku offered.

"A threat? He should be happy I care enough about you to have been by your side all this time."

AJ rolled her eyes. She really didn't see what her best friend saw in him. But she'd support Deku in any way she could.

"And I love you for that AJ. Thank you." Deku smiled.

"Love you too bestie." AJ returned the smile.

The duo walked into work and when they left the building several hours later they saw Bakugo at the normal spot waiting for them.

He followed the duo back home, listening to them go back and forth with their conversation.

Bakugo would hang out with them when they didn't have hero work and when they weren't working at the hospital.

He'd leave to do his own thing when he wasn't with Deku and his friend.

It was kind of weird to Deku, but he went on about his days like he normally did. He meant what he said about not dropping everything.

Back home, AJ had popped a pizza into the oven and headed to her room.

"Pizza will be ready in 20." She called out from her room then closed the door.

The doorbell rang. Deku looked to Bakugo who merely gave him a blank expression.

Deku opened the door and did a double take.

"Uraraka, Todoroki, Kirishima!"

"Deku!" Ochako threw herself at him and he caught her.

He spun her around.

"Midoriya. Long time no see." Shoto gave a small smile.

"Midoriya, the hot shot that moved to the United States! Coming all the way out here alone. That's so manly!"

Deku set Ochako down and moved to embrace Todoroki and Kirishima.

"I'm so glad you're all here. Please come inside."

Upon entering the living room, they were in for another surprise. Well everyone except Kirishima.

"What's Bakugo doing here?" Ochako asked.

She looked at Deku.

"Deku, doesn't he hate you? Am I missing something?"

"Seems like I'm missing something too. I thought the same thing." Shoto said in agreement.

"Icy Hot, Cheeks you got something to say?" Bakugo growled.

Kirishima had walked over and clasped Bakugo's shoulder giving it a squeeze.

"Bakugo! Long time no see, bro!" Kirishima smiled, ignoring the murderous glare coming from Bakugo.

"Deku I thought I heard. Oh!" Angela started as she entered the living room.

The UA alumni had looked at the newcomer then back to Deku.

Deku had pulled Angela to him.

"This is Angela Jeffrey, she's been my everything all these years."

They all thought they heard a growl, but ignored it.

After the introductions, they fell into easy conversation.

"What's burning?" Shoto asked.

"Oh shit I forgot about the pizza. I'll get it." Deku ran off to the kitchen.

Ochako turned to Angela.

"So are you and Deku together or something?"

Angela looked at her wide eyed, then noticed all three males looking at her for the answer now.

Was everyone this territorial about Deku? She wondered.

It was a bit touching if she was being honest. But in the same hand, it was annoying. She didn't know them at all and didn't appreciate being interrogated or being asked such a personal question.

Deku chose at that moment to enter the living room again.

"AJ is my everything." He reiterated.

"She's been with me through thick and thin and on my worst days when the Hana-." Deku immediately cut himself off.

"Deku is it true that you have Hanahaki? Kirishima told us and." Ochako started.

Deku shot a glare at Bakugo just then.

Cat was out of the bag now.

"Yes Uraraka, I have Hanahaki disease and I've had it for years. I hid it from all of you because I didn't want you to worry about me."

"Deku, I." Ochako started. Tears forming in her eyes.

She had no idea at all that her friend was secretly suffering.

"It's okay, I'm just glad you all were there for me and didn't mind me being extra clingy to you all during our time at UA."

"This puts things into perspective." Shoto commented. "But it still doesn't explain why Bakugo is here though. Doesn't he hate your guts?"

"I'm here because I'm the reason for this nerds' Hanahaki disease and why he decided to run away and make a life for himself over here." Bakugo spoke up.

All eyes were on Bakugo now. He had never been the one to beat around the bush.

"It's true. Kacchan is the source of my disease, and I know it doesn't make sense to anyone. But it makes perfect sense to me. We've known each other almost all our lives. So of course he'd be the one to have my heart."

Ochako looked between Deku and Bakugo, putting two and two together.

"So it's safe to also assume Bakugo is here because he realized his feelings for Deku as well. And Deku doesn't really believe him so." Ochako started.

All eyes were on her now. She really did hit the nail on the head.

"Cheeks." Bakugo addressed her with a warning tone.

"What!?" She shot him a glare. Then continued.

"If I were you, I'd be doing all I could to win Deku over right now. Which makes me think that's probably the real reason why we are all here. Because Bakugo needs help. But I seriously doubt that because Bakugo hates all of us except Kirishima. So to ask for help especially from us would be ridiculous, right?"

Deku was getting flustered by all of this. But they were his closest friends while at UA.

"Right. So anyway, AJ and I are physicians in between hero work. I'd like to be able to save people in this way too."

"When did you have time to attend medical school, Midoriya?" Shoto asked.

"I started while we were at UA. And damn near ran myself ragged too. I moved here to finish my schooling."

"That's amazing, Deku." Ochako said dabbing at her eyes.

"Doctor Midoriya. That's so manly!" Kirishima pumped a fist into the air.

The doorbell rang again. Everyone looked at one another.

"I'll get it." Deku went to answer it.

"Mom, Auntie?! What are you two doing here?"

"Izuku!" Inko went to hug her son, tears forming in her eyes.

"Can we come in or what young man?" Mitsuki asked.

"Right, of course."

The mothers followed Deku after closing the door.

Everyone was sitting on the couches in the living room except Bakugo, who was standing.

The moms took a seat next to everyone, smiling a knowing smile.

Bakugo had stepped towards Deku, his eyes never leaving the other man.

"Deku, I know you don't believe me when I told you I was in love with you. I'm an absolute asshole and I don't deserve you, but please let me into your life. I don't want to live without you anymore. I can't live without you anymore. I'll do whatever it takes for another chance with you."

Bakugo got down to one knee looking up at Deku. He had tears in his eyes. He pulled a black box out of his pocket and opened it, presenting a simple tungsten band.

Deku's vision was becoming blurry from the tears forming in his own eyes.

"Marry me Deku, I know I'll make you happy. I'll help you with your Hanahaki."

Finally.

Deku started full on crying. He couldn't help it.

"Yes Kacchan. I'll marry you."

Bakugo put the ring on Deku's finger and stood up. He enveloped him in a hug and held on tightly. He would never let Deku go ever again.

Deku pulled away, realization dawning on him. That's why their friends and their mothers were here. Bakugo wanted to propose in front of the people closest to him.

Bakugo was being vulnerable in front of them as a way of showing Deku his true feelings and that he was serious about wanting to be together.

It was touching.

Deku looked up at the taller man. Feeling his heart mending. He knew he had been cured of Hanahaki by the love he was feeling from Katsuki Bakugo as their lips met.

In that instant, all of the hurt had melted away.

"Finally, the damn brat did something right." Mitsuki whispered to Inko.

Everyone heard it and stifled a laugh, not wanting to be the target of Bakugo's ire.

"If you ever run away from me again, I'll murder you. You hear me, Deku."

Even after all the time that passed, some things never changed.

Deku reached up and kissed Bakugo to silence him. He had no intention of letting Katsuki Bakugo leave either.
