Authors Notes:

This story was just a random idea I had one day, and I thought how fun would it be to see Mamoru and Usagi switch places?

I'm not a professional writer by any means and I have never claimed to be one. XD There are going to be grammatical errors and all kinds of other cringe-worthy errors, but this is how I write, hopefully for the time being until can approve over time. If this bother's you, then please do not read my stories, and please do not leave hateful comments in regard to this. I'm already fully aware that I struggle with English grammar, you don't have to waste both my time and yours by telling me something I know and already acknowledge. XD

With all that said, I hope you enjoy the story, whether it's your first time or your hundredth time reading it. Just know, that I had so much fun writing this one! Enjoy! :)

Prologue

"Jerk face!"

"Odango Atama!"

"Baka!"

"Airhead!"

Sighing out in annoyance as he watched his two friends begin their daily squabble, Motoki sighed out in frustration before silently walking forwards and extending his arm out between the two in an attempt to referee, yet again.

Watching the as their bickering abruptly stopped upon his arm acting a barrier, he looked to his best friend, then towards the blonde whom he considered a sister and smiled at the couple with amusement. Watching his best friend look at him, he watched as his best friend's face flushed slightly in embarrassment in realization that he'd gone overboard once again with the blonde. Turning his gaze towards the blonde once more, he watched as she instead, stubbornly crossed her arms across her chest, then proceeded to stick her tongue out at Mamoru before abruptly turning and retreating towards the Sailor V game with an indignant huff.

Shaking his head with exasperation at the blonde's quick retreat, he decided to take his frustration out on the only one who remained standing in his general vicinity, which happened to be his best friend. "Do you think for once, just for one day, that you two could give my customers a break from the daily shouting and name calling?" He asked, sighing out with exasperation as they made their way towards the counter.

"Sorry, Motoki." Mamoru muttered his apology, silently returning to his seat on the stool and lifting his cup of coffee to his lips. Taking a long drink of the bitter liquid, that was still surprisingly warm, he lowered the cup a deep sigh escaping his lips before he spoke. "I don't know why I let her get under my skin like that." He stated, glancing towards the empty stool, where the blonde had been sitting prior to their shouting match. "She brings the worst out of me." He grumbled, running a hand through his long dark bangs in an attempt to brush back the dark locks from his face.

'Perhaps because you have feelings for her.' Motoki thought with amusement, knowing the tension between the two was obvious to everyone but them. 'How can these two be so oblivious to their feelings for one another.' Pushing away the thought, he gently sighed, lifting a cloth from beneath the counter and wiped at a small stain on the counter as he addressed his best friend. "Perhaps, it's because you feel something for her." He casually countered back, glancing up from the stain he was wiping, as he silently awaited his friend's typical response.

Scoffing at the sheer thought of having feelings for the blonde middle schooler, Mamoru glanced over his shoulder, back towards the blonde whose focus was currently on the Sailor V game. Watching her nervously biting her bottom lip, he was unaware of his lips quirking up in amusement as her face scrunched and contorted with her frustration as she struggled to defeat the monster on the screen. Watching her soon lash out at the screen, her usual response to losing a level as she was defeated yet again by one of the villains in the game. Realizing how long he'd been watching her, he quickly tore his gaze from the screeching blonde, turning his focus back to Motoki, who was watching him, amusement shining in his green eyes, as his brow quirked up at him, challenging him to argue his case. "I don't have feelings for the Odango-atama, she's just an immature kid." He grumpily muttered, knowing there was no other way of salvaging his obvious ogling.

"Alright, if you say so, Mamoru." Motoki chuckled, unable to contain the smug grin from spreading across his lips as he leaned against the counter.

Ignoring his friend's comment, Mamoru tensed when sensing the exuberant blonde walk up to the counter once more, the smell of her vanilla spray invading and teasing his senses. Keeping his gaze on his coffee, he clenched his jaw fighting the urge to throw another insult her way since Motoki had interrupted them mid-argument. 'I'm sure I would have won this round.' He smugly thought, knowing on very rare occasions, the blonde could throw a good enough insult his way leaving her to walk away with the last remark.

"Motoki-onii, can I please get another strawberry milkshake?" Usagi asked, flashing the older teen one of her brightest smiles.

"Isn't this your third one, Odango-atama?" Mamoru asked, chuckling when he watched the blonde tense before cutting her gaze at him. 'That's it, Odango.' He giddily thought, keeping his smug smirk plastered as he anxiously awaited her retort.

"How many cups of that horrible stuff have you already had today? Honestly, Mamoru-baka, just because your a senior now, doesn't mean you need to act like a senior citizen also and drink that terrible stuff so much." Usagi quipped back, watching the older teens smug smirk abruptly drop, looking at her with surprise. Smiling victoriously when he was unable to retort with a prompt come back, she gave him a smug look, before turning her attention forwards, relishing in her small victory. "That's what I thought." She smirked as she sat down in her usual spot, two stools down from Mamoru as she silently sat, eagerly watching as Motoki prepared her strawberry milkshake.

"Do you have any plans this weekend, Usagi?" Motoki curiously asked, glancing over his shoulder to see the blonde shake her head with a slight pout.

"No, not really. I'm just sleeping in, reading my manga, and relaxing before I have to go back to school on Monday." Usagi happily responded, her cheeks turning a light shade of pin as she smiled up at her crush.

"How did you do on your test? I overheard you talking with Ami the other day about helping you study." Motoki inquired, watching the blonde's happy disposition immediately deflate as a deep frown replaced her radiant smile. Regretting his question as he watched her nervously shift in her seat, he didn't noticed her gaze nervously glance in Mamoru's direction, as her small frame tensed, preparing for his cutting remarks. "Did you fail the test?" He cautiously asked, watching her grimace as she silently nodded.

"Yes- and I'm probably going to be grounded until the next century!" Usagi wailed not noticing both Motoki or Mamoru flinch slightly. "My mom warned me that I needed to make a better score than the last test." She bemoaned, her hands nervously fidgeting as she could already hear her mother's endless lecture. "This isn't fair, Motoki-onii! I really tried, honest!" She wailed. "It's not my fault, I don't understand all those formulas, it's so confusing trying to remember all those steps." She bitterly muttered as she tearfully looked up at the older blonde.

"I'm sure you won't be grounded for long. The warden usually lets you out of your punishment early for good behavior." Motoki teased in an attempt to cheer up the somber blonde. Watching her smile at his comment, he returned the smile, happy to have cheered her up once again.

"I hope you're right." Usagi sighed, smiling her thanks as Motoki slid her milkshake forwards. Taking a sip of the frozen treat, she glanced over as Mamoru silently stood and placed some yen on the counter.

"I should go, I'll see you tomorrow, Motoki." Mamoru stated, placing some money on the counter for his coffee. Glancing over at the blonde, he watched her eyes widen with surprise, her cheeks turning a shade of pink as she swiftly cut her gaze back towards the counter. Hiding his smile, he was snapped from his own thoughts as he heard Motoki speak.

"I'll see you later, Mamoru." Watching his best friend make his leave from the arcade, he smiled as he noticed Usagi trying to discreetly watch Mamoru make his exit from the arcade. Waiting until she turned her attention back towards her milkshake, he leaned against the counter and gave her a warm smile as their gazes met. "So tell me, what subject is giving you such trouble? Science or Math?"

"Math." Usagi grimaced, as a dismal sigh escaped her pouting lips.

"I'm sure Mamoru would be willing to tutor you, Usagi." Motoki suggested, noticing the blonde abruptly look at him as if he had just grown a second head. "What? I'm serious, all you have to do is ask." He chuckled, amused by her dumbstruck expression. "He's a really good tutor, I promise. He's helped me on a few occasions."

"I'll pass, Motoki. I get enough teasing and name-calling from the baka." Usagi huffed, crossing her arms across her chest as she passively shook her head. "Why would I want to give him something new to tease me about."

"Alright, well if you change your mind, I can ask him for you, if you want?" Motoki said, smiling at the blonde. "He helped me study for a math exam last month, and I passed with an exceptional score. He's an excellent tutor, because my teacher was about ready to pull his hair out with me when I was going in for extra help." He said chuckling at the thought of his math teacher.

"I'll think about it." Usagi reluctantly stated, watching the older blonde smile and nod his head in return.

"Just consider it." Motoki said, watching Usagi silently nod before turning her focus onto the milkshake once more.

Silently walking down the park's path, Usagi allowed her feet to lead the way as she was lost, deep in her thoughts. Softly sighing as she neared the stone fountain in the center of the circled path, she slowed her steps to a stop, closing her eyes and allowing the soothing sounds of the tricking water to calm her frazzled nerves. Releasing a deep breath, she opened her eyes, allowing her feet to lead her towards the fountain once more.

Looking down into the clear water, she could see her reflection staring back at her. Brushing her fingers against the surface of the water, she watched at the water rippled slightly, distorting her reflection. 'I don't want to go home.' She glumly thought, dreading the thought of returning home with her low exam score. Frowning more at the thought of what her mother was going to say, she glanced down as something glinted next to her under the afternoons sunlight.

Noticing a coin lying on the ground she smiled at a sudden thought as she knelt down lifting the small coin from the ground. Closing her hand over the coin, she tightly closed her eyes, her smile growing as she thought of what she was going to wish for. 'I wish-'

"You can wish all you want, Odango-atama. You're not going to get out of your punishment." Mamoru teased, watching the blonde whirl around and look at him in surprise. Lowering the book he'd been reading into his lap, he watched as her surprise quickly turned to anger, as she glared at him instead.

"What are you doing here, Mamoru-baka?" Usagi demanded, her anger flaring as he smirked at her in response. Watching him carefully rest his book next to him on the bench, she watched him tilt his head, his dark bangs falling across his face, his perfect brow arching up as he smugly spoke.

"I'm studying, something you should try." Mamoru retorted, watching her face scrunch more, turning a lovely shade of red in her anger.

"WHY YOU- YOU JERK!" Usagi shrieked, watching Mamoru flinch slightly under her deafening decibels. "I'll have you know, that I do study! I just-"

"Sure you do." Mamoru snidely interrupted, chuckling with amusement. "Come on, Odango. You can be honest with me, I doubt you've ever really taken the time to actually sit down and put any kind of real effort into anything besides eating, sleeping, or playing video games." He quipped, eagerly awaiting her next verbal assault.

"You know what, Mamoru-baka?!"

"What's that, Odango" Mamoru interrupted once again, watching the blonde anger more, her face turning a brighter shade of red, her hands clenching and shaking at her sides as she struggled to keep her temper.

"I wish you could spend one day in my shoes!" Usagi shouted, furiously blinking back the hot tears that her stinging her cerulean blue eyes. "I wish you could be me, for one lousy day, so you could see for yourself that I'm not the stupid Odango-atama, you think I am!" Watching him look at her in concern as her voice cracked with emotion once more, she felt her anger quickly deflate as she struggled to keep her tears back instead. "I try..." She bitterly stated. "I r-really do, I just-" Growing silent as her voice cracked once, she grew silent, a bitter laugh escaping her lips as she tearfully looked up meeting his startled gaze. "You know what, baka. Forget it, I can see what you obviously think of me." She tearfully stated, stray tears streaking her cheeks.

Shocked that the blonde was no longer screeching at him, Mamoru stood dumbstruck, unable to to conjure the right words to offer her some form of comfort. 'You did this!' His mind panicked, his guilt growing at the sight of how much his words had truly hurt her this time. 'I was only teasing, she should know I didn't mean it!' Taking a small step forward, he pushed past his wall, going out of his comfort zone as he attempted to offer her some words of comfort. "Odan-"

"Don't." Usagi hissed, her voice full of venom as she raised her hand to silence him before he could throw any more insults her way. "Whatever it it, I don't want to hear it. Don't say anything else to me, Chiba. I've had enough insults from you in one day." She snapped, angrily throwing the coin into the fountain as she tearfully turned, taking the opportunity to get as far away from him as possible. Not wanting to endure one more insult from him, she ran as fast as she could away from him, hoping and praying she could manage to get out of his sight before she had one of her klutz attacks.

"Usagi-san." Mamoru worriedly stated, guilt shining in his azure eyes as he watched her quickly turn and run from him. 'I didn't mean to make you cry.' He guiltily thought, glancing up towards the sky as a sudden, ominous shift in the wind occurred. Turning at the sound of the pages in his book violently fluttering under a harsh gust of wind, he sighed in annoyance realizing he'd lost his place in his book. "Damn." He muttered, lifting the book from the bench. Turning his worried gaze back towards the direction Usagi had swiftly fled, he mentally chastised himself once again for taking his comment too far. "Stupid..." He angrily muttered, sighing out in frustration before silently walking in the direction of his apartment. 'I'll apologize the next time I see her.' He guiltily thought, knowing full well his intention had not been to make her cry. 'Baka! I can't believe I actually hurt her.' He thought, his anger with himself only growing the more he dwelled on the blonde's distraught departure.

Lying on her side as she looked out the window, Usagi sniffled softly as she allowed her tears to freely fall. 'It's not fair.' She bitterly thought. 'I tried, I really did.' She miserably thought, thinking of the harsh punishment her mother had given her for her failed exam. She had been grounded for two weeks, given strict instructions, to go straight to school, then home where she would be expected to do both her and Shingo's chores.

"Cheer up, Usagi." Luna gently encouraged, nudging her charge's tear-streaked cheek from where she lay nestled against the teen. "Just prove to your mama that you're really trying and I'm sure she'll reduce your punishment."

"I hope so..." Usagi murmured, turning her tear-filled gaze up towards the full moon that shone brightly in the late night sky. "Luna, did you make a mistake? Are you sure I'm supposed to be a Senshi? I- I can't seem to do anything right." She asked, not seeing the cat's shocked look.

"Usagi..." Luna gently stated, nuzzling against her charge's face once more as more tears began to streak her charge's cheeks. "What's really bothering you, child? You've been extra emotional this evening?"

"Mamoru-baka." Usagi muttered, her voice quivering as a shuddered breath escaped her lips. "He- he hates me, Luna." She whimpered, burying her face against her pillow as she quietly cried. "I don't know why..."

Knowing her charge was in love with the high schooler, Luna softly sighed, not sure if she had the right words to try and offer comfort to her charge. 'I've seen the way you both look at one another when you think no one is looking.' She sadly thought, not fully understanding why the two would cease their senseless bickering and try to become friends instead. "I'm sorry Usagi, sometimes people can't see what they truly have in front of them." She gently offered, purring as Usagi pulled her closer against her for comfort.

"I love you, Luna." Usagi tearfully stated, her eyes growing heavy.

"I love you too, Usagi." Luna gently stated, watching her charge drift into a peaceful slumber. "We'll talk some more in the morning, I promise."

Sitting on the edge of his bed, Mamoru softly sighed, his mind still lost in his thoughts and guilt as his mind dwelled on a certain blonde. 'I have to apologize.' He guiltily thought, standing and walking toward the large floor-to-ceiling window. Looking out at the cityscape, he glanced up at the night sky, his gaze taking in the crescent moon that was shining brightly in the night sky.

Closing his eyes, he turned his head from the window, a frustrated sigh escaping his lips. "Why do I care what she thinks of me?" He growled out in frustration, his treacherous thoughts still dwelling on Usagi's swift retreat from the fountain earlier that afternoon at the park. "I can't help it, she can't take a joke." He muttered, still trying to reassure himself that the blonde was only overreacting from his earlier comments. "Hell, I've said worse to her in our little spats." He tried to reason with himself while running a hand through his unkempt hair.

Sighing out in frustration, he swiftly turned walking back towards his bed. "I just need a good night's rest, so I can finally forget about this by morning." Mamoru stated as he got into the large bed pulling the blankets over him. Turning onto his side, he turned his gaze back towards the window looking out the window, his eyes growing heavy as he fell asleep, his last fleeting thoughts of the blonde's tearful retreat. "I'm sorry, Usako." He tiredly murmured, a small smile spreading across his lips as he drifted into a deep sleep.

(The Following Morning)- Mamoru

Stirring from the sun's warm rays shining into his bedroom, Mamoru furrowed his brows, wondering why the dark curtains covering his windows were not blocking out the morning's rays. Turning on his side to block away the unwanted light, he was greeted by the familiar intoxicating smell of vanilla and jasmine that permeated from his pillow.

Burying his face deeper into the pillow he drew in a deep breath, reveling in the scent that was all too familiar. 'Odango.' His tired mind registered, a small smile curving on his lips at the thought of the blonde who seemed to always find a way to crash into him in the mornings on their way to school. 'Wait!' His mind suddenly registered, suddenly more alert. 'Why does my pillow smell like Odango?!'

Groggily opening his eyes, he tiredly raised noticing the room seemed brighter than usual as he groggily opened his eyes. The first thing catching his attention was the sheer pink curtains covering the windows. 'What the hell? This isn't my room!' He thought with an abrupt start as he raised from the bed, more alert, the blankets falling off him as he looked around the very girly bedroom. 'Whose bedroom am I in? Where am I?' He frantically thought, looking around the room in a panic.

Clutching the blankets, he brought his gaze down taking in the moon and bunny print comforter on the bed. 'What the hell?!' He thought, his stomach lurching and eyes bugging out in disbelief when seeing petite hands, tightly clutching the fabric instead of his own larger hands. Shakily raising the petite hands, he nervously brought them forwards, his fingers brushing against his face. Not feeling the usual stubble against his jawline, he was instantly aware the soft silky skin, was not his, but who?! "This can't be happening." He stated in a panic, abruptly pushing the blankets off him to see he was wearing very pink pajamas. "Mirror-mirror, there has to be a mirror in here somewhere." He nervously muttered, unable to shake his ever-increasing panic.

Spotting a tabletop mirror sitting atop a small white writing desk that was piled with manga, he quickly rushed towards the mirror, stumbling slightly over a pile of discarded laundry lying on the floor. Lifting the pink mirror from the tabletop with shaking hands, he was already suspecting whose face he would see in the reflection of the mirror.

Releasing a deep shaky exhale, he lifted the mirror, his eyes widening as he saw the blonde's face greet him instead of his own. Feeling the mirror slip from his hands and fall to the floor, he shook his head as he felt his panic suddenly consume him with one sudden thought. 'If I'm Odango, then that must mean- oh god, no!' He thought with newfound horror and panic sinking in, knowing the blonde was in his apartment, in his bed, in his body. "This can't be happening." He muttered, sinking to the floor with shock.

(Meanwhile at Mamou's Apartment) ::Usagi::

Tiredly yawning as she woke, Usagi groaned out as she stretched her stiff limbs before turning onto her side, burying her face against the pillow and raising the blankets over her head to snuggle further in the warmth of the overly-comfortable bed. Breathing in the familiar, earthy scent of musk and roses, she felt her lips curve into a small smile as her mind recognized the scent. 'Mamo-chan.' Her tired mind thought, as she drew in the earthy scent that flooded her senses, and caused her emotions to go haywire every time she crashed into her arch nemesis. 'Wait!' Her mind suddenly registered with an abrupt start. 'Why does my pillow smell like Mamoru-baka?!'

Snapping her eyes open, she immediately raised, noticing the room was dark from the thick navy blue curtains blocking out the light. 'Where am I? This isn't my room!' She abruptly thought with panic, anxiously looking around the simple bedroom. Quickly kicking the blankets off her, she gasped seeing well-toned, legs instead of her own. Shakily raising her hands, she carefully touched her face, feeling the prickly stubble along the strong jawline, she could feel the stubble traveling all the way to her chin, instead of her own smooth skin. "What's happening." She stated in a panic. Clamping her hand over her mouth at the deep masculine voice escaping her lips, she scrambled to get out of bed in search of a mirror.

Spotting a mirror hanging on the closet door, she took a nervous gulp before, drawing in a deep breath to calm her pounding heart. Nervously taking a step forward, she felt her stomach nervously twist with each step, nervously anticipating whose reflection would greet her in the mirror. 'This is just a dream, it has to be a dream...' Her mind tried to rationalize.

Stopping in front of the large mirror, she felt her eyes widen in shock when seeing Mamoru's reflection staring back at her. Clamping her hands over her mouth to muffle the abrupt yelp that escaped her lips, she watched in the mirror's reflection as tears filled her deep azure eyes. "I- I'm in that baka's body." She gasped in shock, her long muscular legs growing weak from shock as she dropped onto her knees, her gaze focused on the soft carpet as her mind frantically tried to make sense of the sudden madness she'd woken up to. "This can't be happening." She muttered staring down at the floor as tears streaked her cheeks.

Tucking her bare knees against her chest, she ran her long fingers through Mamoru's short hair as she tried to calm her whirring mind. "Think Usagi..." She muttered to herself, Mamoru's voice speaking instead of hers. "How did this happen?" She asked, trying to think of the priors day's event that could have led to her sudden predicament. 'What could have caused this?' She desperately thought before a sharp gasp escaped her lips, her eyes widening suddenly with the realization of something far more worse. 'That baka, he- he's in my body! He's going to see me- naked!' She thought with newfound horror, her face flushing brightly with embarrassment at the sudden realization that she too would be seeing him naked. "I can't do this!" She wailed, tears streaking her cheeks, throwing Mamoru's body back against the floor as she covered her face with embarrassment. "I have to figure out a way to talk to me." She thought, her mind still whirring from the unfortunate event that had befallen her and Mamoru. "This can't be happening." She miserably muttered.

To Be Continued...

Well, there's the Prologue. Hope you enjoyed it! I'll be going through the next chapter soon and making some small revisions, before posting those. I'm going to slowly be going through my other fan fiction and reposting those soon as well. For the time being, Song of the Heart and Rescue Me will not be posted. I'm not going to post those until I have completed the sequels. Not sure, when that will be, but dammit, I will complete them! XD
