Candyfloss

At first, Riche didn't know what to do on her day off; she hadn't had one in what felt like, well, forever. So when Amelia Ruth invited her to a day out, she couldn't say no.

It was pure happenstance that Amelia had her day off from her duties at Hôtel Chouchou as well, and of all places.

The city of Paris was busy as ever, and it was a perfect sunny day for a day off. No matter how many times she had seen it for herself, Riche never got used to the sights and scenery that lay before her.

"Oh, Riche, you should try this," Amelia's light, sweet voice broke Riche's reverie; the dhampir stumbled at bit before regaining her composure. She looked down at the confectionary treat Amelia was holding; it appeared to be pink and fluffy, sugary sweet cotton wrapped around a paper stick.

"Ooh, cotton candy, that looks so good! I haven't had it in ages." Riche gently took a piece of the treat from the top and popped in it her mouth. The taste was simply delightful, sweetness dancing and melting, and Riche could not help humming.

"I'm glad you could have it again, I'll try some too," Amelia took another piece of the cotton candy from the side and took a bite. She smiled, tasting the melting delight on her tongue, and she could not help but squeal in delight.

The sudden noise brought some quizzical stares from the crowd, and Amelia's face turned beet red once she realized what happened. Riche looked around, her head whipping back and forth, and before she knew what she was doing, she grabbed onto Amelia's hands, hurrying them elsewhere.

They reached just outside the vendors and businesses, at the nearest café they could run to.

"I do apologize for that outburst, it was just so sweet,"

"No need to apologize, Amelia, no need to fuss."

Amelia straightened up. "I've heard people call it candyfloss, or fairy floss, I'm not sure," she replied, glancing up, meeting Riche's gaze. "I wouldn't know, my knowledge of anything beyond cleaning is that of a spring chicken."

Riche shook her head, waving her hands. "Oh no, don't be silly! I'm sure you're good at a lot of things, and definitely not just cleaning, I-I mean, know I'm not smart at a lot of things either but I'm babbling-" She stammered, nervousness taking over and her face bright red.

Amelia blinked, and then giggled, a soft and lovely noise that made Riche stop what she was doing, and now her cheeks faded from red to light pink.

"You're pretty cute when you're flustered, Riche."

Riche blinked, and then she laughed, joining Amelia with their shared mirth.

As soon as they finished laughing, the day was not over yet, and Amelia led Riche to see more sights Paris had to offer. Riche felt warmth and vulnerability with Amelia's arms hugging around her, and Amelia felt very safe and at ease with Riche by her side.
