Chapter 1: The Planning

A/N: This is a sequel to Pilots Have Feelings Too, my first ever FF. It was honestly EH in my opinion. The story was weird, and unorganized. I hope this is a refined thing. Eh. R & R, PLEASEE!

"Hey, wake up." Shinji shook Asuka awake at 5:30 AM. "What is it? I'm sleepy~" Asuka yawned groggily, blinking her eyes a couple of times. "What is it?" Asuka rubbed her eyes trying to wake up. Shinji turned on the lights, causing Asuka to hiss. He put his hands in his pocket, pulling out two tickets to Paris.

"Happy honeymoon, we never got to. It's been what? 3 months?" Shinji told her, watching his sleepy wife hop out of bed with as much excitement as possible. She plucked a ticket out of his hand, "Mein Gott!" She yelled in excitement, "I wanted to go to France for a long time."

Shinji smiled at her, encasing her in a bear hug. She let go of him, "What about the kids?" Shinji covered her mouth with his finger, "Misato is coming with Kaji." Asuka smiled, "You thought of everything! Let's get packing, the flight is in 8 hours." Shinji agreed, beginning to pull out 4 suitcases for the trip. Asuka told three suitcases for herself, leaving Shinji with one for the week of vacation. Shinij began to fold and put away different outfits. Asuka began to shove her clothes into the suitcase, Shinji started to glance over. "You know, you'd only need like 2 suitcases if you didn't shove it all in like we had 3 minutes left in an all you can eat." Asuka jerked her head over to him, "No." She lightly said, putting a yellow sundress into the suitcase. "Isn't that?" Shinji began to ask, Asuka replied quickly. "Yes, it is the sundress I wore when we met."

The bed creaked down at the weight of the suitcases, Shinji surprised at the amount of clothes Asuka was bringing. "I-, how do you have that much, are you bringing your whole ward-?" Shinji glanced over, realizing that her drawers were empty. A single sock was left in the middle drawer. Shinji face palmed, grabbing a bunch of toiletries and putting them in a baggie. He stuffed it right on top of the clothes, making a nice array of cotton and colors in the brown suitcase. He zipped it, placing the 7 pound suitcase next to the bed. Asuka finished as well, placing the three full suitcases directly under the bed. It was now 7:30 AM, and Shinji went out to grab two cups of coffee. He threw two french roasts in the espresso machine, laying back on the counter behind him. The kids were sleeping at this point, no longer in a brawl over a toy.

The espresso machine clicked, wafts of black coffee began to invade Shinji's nose, waking him up. He threw sugar and cream into each of the cups, calling Asuka into the kitchen. He flicked the light switch, a small buzz appearing overhead. The lights shot to life, vanquishing the darkness within. Asuka came over, took her cup of coffee and began to drink it. "Thank god, you make coffee better than Misato." she joked, Shinji began to laugh and choke on his coffee. He swallowed it, audibly laughing at this point. "Her coffee sucked, so much." They downed the glass, putting it back into the sink. A loud knock came on the door, alerting both of the ex-pilots. They shook their heads, "Not surprised, Misato's driving got her here in less than 2 hours." Asuka laughed, opening the door, revealing Misato and Kaji. "Hey! You two look amazing, so you're finally going on your honeymoon, god it's been months!" Misato screamed, hugging both of the ex-eva pilots. "Is that gray hair?" Asuka said, plucking a hair. Misato winced, "I'm not old! Asuka, come on." Shinji laughed, patting both of them on the backs. "Where are the kids, can't believe you named one after me!" Misato laughed, running past them, her shoes flying off at the entrance. They landed on top of Kaji's, who had his hands in his pockets walking after Misato. "Hi!" Misato cheered, looking at both of the girls, playing with some toy trains. Both of the 4 y/o's screamed at the same time. "Auntie Misato, Uncle Kaji!" Misato pulled her collar and looked at Kaji, remarking. "God, are we old enough to be uncle and aunt." Kaji nodded, saying hi to the kids as well. "We got like 3 weeks of vacation on our jobs!" Shinji yelled from the other room. Shinji had found a job as a manager of one of the main banks in Yokohama. Asuka was a model for Yokohama Movie Industries, both jobs near each other. "Misato! Yui is allergic to peanuts, I swear to god if I get a call from Kaji about a PB&J, I don't even know." Shinji yelled, closing the door behind Asuka and himself. "Tickets, check. Airport pillows and stuff, check. Suitcases, check." Shinji listed off, counting them off on his left hand. He finished dragging all of the suitcases because Asuka insisted that she needed help.

Shinji struggled, bringing them to the SUV. He clicked his keys, watching the whirring doors open up. He threw all four suitcases into the back, clicking the button for the trunk, watching it slowly close. He hopped into the driver's seat, going over towards the nearby cafe. He stopped, holding Asuka's hand as they went inside. Asuka grabbed a couple of cookies, while Shinji grabbed a croissant. They paid a little bit extra for a tip, walking out. They were public figures, a few people gave them looks as they walked out. Shinji slumped in his seat, looking at his watch. It was 8:50 AM, 6 hours before the flight.

"Sooo, hun, how do you want to spend the next 3 hours?" Shinji asked her, pulling up the GPS. Asuka responded, "Let's visit… your father? Maybe." Shinji clenched his fist on the steering wheel. "I-, sure." He began to drive towards the old NERV headquarters. Luckily, the airport was in Tokyo-3. On the road, Asuka began to tell him, "Look, Shinji. If you don't want to see him it's fine." Shinji nodded his head side to side, closing his eyes for a second. "Watch out!" Asuka screamed. Shinji jerked the wheel right, narrowly avoiding the car next to him. "Hey! What are you doing?" The old man screamed, throwing curses at Shinji and Asuka. "No way-, that's the same guy from when we were kids." Asuka laughed, Shinji stepped on the engine roared, flying both of them towards Tokyo-3. "God, it smells like LCL here." Shinji joked, wafting the smell away.

"Tokyo-3, 5 miles away."

Shinji stepped on the gas, making Asuka fly back in her seat. The engine roared louder than ever, the accelerator clocked at 96 MPH. He watched the metropolis become bigger, showing the Welcome To Tokyo-3 sign in large kanji. He drove through the city, passing so many landmarks. "Aw! Look, it's the school!" Asuka yelled, pointing at the old school ground. "Hey look, it's the bakery I got a cake for you at. The guy recognized me a long time ago. We have to go in!" Shinji screamed, parking the car and scrambling inside. Inside, was the same baker, aged only a little, a couple of gray hairs showed.

"Shinji Ikari! Asuka Langley Ikari!" The baker cheered, "Welcome back, the two of you!"

Asuka blushed, the baker knowing of their status. "Can I get a strawberry shortcake?" Shinji asked, pulling out his wallet. He pulled out a bundle of yen, handing it to the baker. "Keep the change, sir." Shinji told him, waving him goodbye. "Come back anytime!" the baker cheered, waving them goodbye.

"God, that guy is the best." Shinji told Asuka, opening the car door. He put the cake down, opening the container. He cut a slice out, giving it to Asuka. 'He gave us plates!' Shinji thought, pulling 5 out. Asuka began to eat her slice, "It isn't even our honeymoon yet, this is still amazing." Asuka smiled, lighting up the car. He put the car into reverse, "Tell me if I'm not going to hit somebody." Shinji asked, Asuka began to comply. "You're good, you're good. Okay, you're good to go out." Asuka finished, Shinji throwing the car into drive. He sped towards the main NERV entrance, waving his ID at the crossing. "They still remember me." Shinji snickered, driving down the geo-front. He stopped at the main gate, scanning his ID and retina. The giant metal gate rose open, letting him go through. "I can't believe you made me manually open that as a kid." Shinji chuckled, Asuka punching his shoulder.

He parked his car in one of the parking lots, running up to the elevator, letting Asuka go in first. He clicked to L-2, letting the elevator descend. It stopped, letting the newlyweds out, and into the main testing area. "Oops, wait, let's go into the observation deck." Shinji told her, leading the way. "I worked here too smartass." Asuka retorted, following Shinji. They led up, finding Ritsuko, barely aged. "Wow! How are you guys? You guys look so old now!" Ritsuko exclaimed, hugging both of them. "So, you two are married now, never thought I would see the day." Ritsuko laughed, "So, what brings you here?" Ritsuko asked, smiling happily. "Is my father here?" Shinji asked quietly, looking down away from Ritsuko. Ritsuko nodded, bringing them to an elevator that would bring them directly to him. Asuka hugged Shinji, "It'll be fine."

The elevator dinged, showing a very empty room, one desk with his father sitting behind it. He slowly walked up to the desk, "What?" Gendo asked, monotone as always. "Hi, father. I just wanted to visit you. The kids are at my house. You know where it is. Misato and Kaji are there, I'm going on my honeymoon. If you wanna visit the kids just call Misato." Shinji gulped, Asuka rubbing his back. Gendo had his face behind his hands, lifting it up. Fuyutsuki passed away from natural causes a few years ago. "Understood. Have fun you two." Shinji's father told him, getting up and putting a satchel over his back. "He doesn't have work to do anymore, he has a normal life now, you know." Asuka told Shinji. Gendo left the office, followed by the couple.

Asuka began to pipe up in the car, "We have an hour left, we gotta hurry!" Shinji began to sweat, the traffic was unbearable. He slowly swerved around cars, making his way through like a game of snake. "God!" Shinji made it through the jam, flying into the airport parking lot. He parked the car, grabbing half of the bags, Asuka also grabbing half. They jumped into the line, watching as each person went through security. Each shoe slowly came off, each nanosecond was seen by both of them. Shinji began to panic, only 20 minutes raced through his head. He got to the front, throwing his shoes and belt off, Asuka began to drop all of the suitcases on the x-ray. They went into the metal detector, finding nothing. They ran past, snatching their belongings. Shinji tripped over while throwing on a shoe. He picked himself up, running towards the gate. Shinji panted, standing in front of the gate.

"Gate 34-A, leaving for Paris. First-Class seats up first." The intercom blared, Asuka sat down, Shinji pulled her up. "I bought first class." Shinji whispered, walking her over to the flight attendant who opened the gate for them to go into the plane. "It's a nice suite." Shinji explained, showing Asuka the plane. "Thank you, Shinji." Asuka muttered, exploring the airplane's interior. Eyes glistening in the sun.

It was a great seat, (This is based off of the Nippon First Class Seats, an actual airplane seat.)

There was a middle border, with blinds in case the couple needed some rest. There were 42 inch TV screens with all the latest movies in front of the seat. There was a reclinable leather seat, being able to pull out into a full bed. There was a fully closable door, being able to lock as well. There was a small cooler in the desk under the TV. There was a suitcase container for the carry-on bags. There was free internet, as well as amazing food options.

Both of the ex-pilots sat down excitedly, turning on different movies. Shinji heard a knock on his door, "Hello? We have your headphones, pillows and blankets." The flight attendant tried to say, muffled through the door. Shinji twisted the lock, allowing entry for the flight attendant. She dropped two sets, "Give it to-" the flight attendant started. Shinji held up his hand, "We're married."

The flight attendant nodded, leaving as fast as she came. Shinji locked his door again, passing over some of the items to Asuka. She threw on headphones, listening to her movie. Shinji was learning German, still with a horrible accent.

"Gefällt dir der Sitz?'' Shinji asked Asuka, (How is the seat?") he tapped her shoulder. She threw off the headphones, "Gott, your German is a nightmare." Asuka rolled her eyes, throwing her headphones back on. Shinji did the same, throwing his head back as he waited for the plane ride to start.

A/N: Okay! I hope you liked this chapter. I'm going for a more refined view. I know my mistakes with the past stories, so I tried to fix them. I like to be fast but precise with writing. All day I had this whole crude plan roughed out. I hope this is good, and to everyone's liking. R & R! PM me if you wanna know anything if you don't wanna read the first story, I can give you the crude details you'll need for this.
