They arrived at the Hilton which had passed midnight. After the journey through past memories in the old Beverly Hills house they had passed by Nat; Brenda wanted a burger the old way, at Kelly's house she had pinched just something. And then she was pleased to see the old Busicchio again. The evening had been pleasant and exhausted they headed to the hotel. The girl had seated in the king size which, once again, Brandon had given up.
"Just tonight Steve slept in this bed," he said pointing to him, "and now I give it away with pleasure to you."
"How did Steve sleep here?"
"Well, let's say he needed comfort. His wife left him and now he started dating another man; yesterday he told him and he was ... let's say tried. So I invited him to spend the night here."
"You stayed as it is," Brenda said, smiling, as she helped him fix the pillows.
"Some things never change; however, I have to go to the newspaper tomorrow morning, not too soon. What plans do you have?"
"I followed Dylan, he's my program. But I think I want to spend the day with Sammy, it seems right to me. I could stay with Valerie, I haven't seen her in several years."
"I don't know, she will have work commitments too, we can always ask her; we'll surprise her tomorrow morning. Good night!"
And he retired to the other room.
The dreams of the two brothers were far from serene: those of Brenda, tormented by the most annoying of the triangles, those of Brandon, plagued by the most annoying of the triangles. But the night passed, the Walshs had breakfast in the room and full-point clothes showed up in room 313. Brandon knocked, after a few moments a radiant Steve, in a bathrobe, showed up at the door.
"Accommodated Leon... Brandon, what a surprise" blushed, the view sweighed towards the friend she hadn't seen in a decade "Brenda – he laughed nervously – what a pleasure to see you, how are you?"
"Well Steve, well...not as much as you, I guess, but I don't complain," he smiled looking at his brother.
"Steve, but who is he?" Valerie showed up behind the boy, the same outfit.
"Surpriseaaa," Brandon said seriously.
"Pleasant," Val said without decomposing "But please sit down" from behind Sanders' back he hadn't seen Bran wasn't alone.
"Brenda, you too in LA, how long! But get hugged."
Malone's momentum was much more pronounced than that of the old friend. So, they were all inside the room and the door closed behind them.
"So – Brandon started – where did you find a home this time?"
"Please?" Val said, "I say, a couple of days ago your real estate agent was Silver, today I suppose Steve is; where did he find your home? To Luxuria?", "Spiritious, but I don't think I have to justify myself with you."
"Never be, you are very free to live your life as you see fit, until you destroy anything...and in this case – Steve looked – I don't think there is anything to destroy"
"Piantala Walsh," Sanders replied.
"Did you come here to sentence?" Again Val, "Absolutely not, we wanted to surprise you, but you made the surprise to us; in any case – now she turned to Brenda – I think Valerie's agenda today is very tight, little sister"
"Ah, Brenda, did you want to spend the day with me? I have to be in the gallery in a bit and Steve was leaving," the boy looked.
"Hey, yes, I have to run away too, I have a couple of appointments in the newsroom."
"Guys, you don't need to run away," Brenda said, "we could see each other again tonight, everyone at Nat's."
Brandon intervened, serious "Maybe all dressed...or everyone in a bathrobe, we could launch a new fashion"
"I asked you to stop it," Steve said, laughing as he picked up his clothes.
"Anyway, Brandon is the turn to go, we update by phone in the afternoon."
"That's the case; see you later" and they went out, leaving a rather controversial air. Once in the car, Brandon told his sister that he would call the newspaper, taking the morning off. "But it's not necessary," Brenda replied, "That's okay, on the other hand, when does it happen to us to spend a morning in our teenage places? We could go to West Beverly"
"Please Bran, I still have to recover from Walsh's house visit last night, let's go to Nat's rather" "Again?"
"Do you have any other ideas?" Brandon kept thinking about Kelly, Dylan, how they had spent the night, what he could have done at the time, a visit, a phone call. It made him suffer the fact that she had not come to life, not even with a text message, and wondered how her sister had not taken the matter; and she was afraid to ask her. Other than Peach Pit, he wanted to break into Taylor's house and put the couple under the sheets. But with what right? It would have been a pathetic scene.
To take everyone out of embarrassment came McKay's phone call to Brenda: "Senorita!" Bran heard distinctly.
"Good morning, at good time," the sister replied seriously. "But if it's just 9.20 in the morning."
"In fact," Brenda smiled this time.
"I'm taking Sammy fishing and I couldn't help but think of you."
"I guess."
"Kelly went to school, I guess Brandon has work to do. The only ones who are flattened are the two of us; why don't you come to the pier? I might need someone to free me from the harpoon"Brenda smiled and looked at Brandon, he nodded.
"Ok Dylan, my brother is accompanying me, I'm coming with pleasure...the pleasure of spending time with Sammy"
"Yes, yes, hurry up, peelers!" He said looking at his son, who laughed at the funny tone used by his father. He hooked up.
"Brenda is coming, come with us; go get ready."
"Ok Pà" and bowed upstairs. Dylan was sipping a tea, looking at the photos hanging on the wall of the hallway: the various stages of Sammy's life, the bath, the first steps, a birthday, dressed in a mask for Hallowen. No photo of the mother, no photo of the father. It was a way to keep it away without making disparities between parents. After a few minutes the twins arrived at Taylor's house. Brenda kissed Dylan on the lips, who with one hand on his shoulder greeted his brother "So?"
"So?" Brandon replied by raising his eyebrow. "There's not much to say, I slept with Sammy, I collapsed as soon as I touched the pillow, exhausted from the day and the trip; this morning, when we woke up we were alone, Kelly left a ticket next to breakfast; and we decided to go fishing; quite boring, right?"
"Enough," Brandon smiled, "but at least your day will be in the open air. I'm going to work, I'll talk to you after lunch"
"We will eat fish for lunch!" He said hugging Brenda and looking at her radiantly. The night with his son seemed to put him in a good mood. Brenda was happy to see him calm, he felt at peace with himself, Brandon sensed a less hazy future again. No one imagined what was going to happen.
